| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

For a moment, Diana thought she would actually get the chance to hear the tale they share from Shan's point of view. Alas, it was not to be so as it seemed Shan had a more adventurous life after she had met him. If she hadn't been there in the marsh, she might not have believed him, but considering how outlandish that story would have been she had a feeling this one was true. "An interesting tale," commented Diana, adding her sly smile. "Turned down by a dragon. Well, you know what they say, there are always other fish in the sea. And women in inns." She giggled with a wink, deciding to be just a little obvious in what she was insinuating. She once more seemed to drink from her mug, and thought about things a little. Would now be a good time or should she try to keep gaining his friendship. Well, there was one way to find out. "I was wondering, Dragon Charmer," she said, a cheerful smile on her face. "I would be able to stay in Balefire a little longer if I could save my money, and one way to save would be to save a room." She would have loved it if she could have faked a blush, but unfortunately she was not that good an actor nor was her vampire body made for it. "You seem like a nice, trustworthy kind of guy and I was wondering if you wouldn't mind splitting the cost of a room here?" |

"Um...Ah..."Shan said with amazing eloquence. His mind began to race as he stared into that beautiful, bright face. Yeah, um, you don't really know her, said his anima, the most reasonable part of his mind at the moment, Probably best to actually think and turn - MY GODS SHE'S BEAUTIFUL SAY YES. Id, shut up. Eat your pie. Thank her for the chat, lie about having a room elsewhere...wait, that might not work. Look, just say- YES. Id, by the gods I will end you. his Anima took a deep breath. You are in Balefire, which has lots of creepies, and she's been a bit fishy from the start, so it's- LOOK AT HER AND SAY YES DAMMIT, Shan's id screamed, effectively drowning out everything else. Shan despite his experiences, threw away his self-preservation. "That a good idea," Shan said. "I mean, if you really feel comfortable about it. We have just met." He smiled. It was nice how well this day was going. |

Diana smiled, knowing at that moment she had him. She reveled in her victory in her mind. "It's settled then," she said, sounding rather happy to have a room to share. Even now she could imagine the taste of his blood, taking her time to enjoy his surprise and growing fear when he finally learned who she really was. Oh, she was going to have so much fun with him tonight, she might even let him enjoy her company for a little while. Diana waved her hand towards the barmaid, and asked for a room. The barmaid went away and shortly came back with a key and asked for the necessary gold. The food, drink and stay would not be too expensive, and she knew she would still make a profit tonight from the coins she had seen in his violin case, though just barely. Diana offered up some gold to pay for her half and waited for Shan to give his half before getting the key. "Once you finished eating I guess we can go be a bit more private," she said, and once more gave him a slight wink. By now she already had him, it seemed safe to be playful. After all, he certainly did not say yes to the suggestion simply to save the coins. Ah, men, they could be so easy. |

Shan paid his share, feeling nervous and excited. He'd been with woman before, but this felt like this was happening so fast. He kept wondering if it was a bad idea, but a smile from her banished those doubts, or at least caused his id to drown them out. Together they walked to the room...which only had one bed. Well, at least he wasn't misreading her intentions, though they were written in large print. He took off his case and placed it on the dresser. "Well, it's still early, I think. I mean I've been up a bit, but people tend to set their own hours here. The lack of sun does make keeping time a bit tricky. Well, that means most places are still open, if you wanted to go see a play or visit a museum. Or we could...ah....turn in..." |

Diana could not stop grinning to herself as they went to the room and entered, finding just a single bed for the two of them. She wondered whether she wanted to just bite into him now or play with him just a little longer. She considered him, knowing they were definitely not going anywhere for a little while. In fact, he would probably never leave this room alive. Probably. There was always a chance she could be merciful. A small chance, but a chance, none the less. "How can I put this," she said, as though talking to herself. She took the key and locked the door so no one would be able to go in or out and pocketed the key and then turned back to Shan with a mischievous smile on her face. "I think we should stay in." She moved closer to him, and gently wrapped her arms around him and gave him a soft kiss. It would seem almost sweet, though a little fast. But here was where the charade ended. Here was where he would realize the horror of his mistakes. She opened her eyes and they were suddenly blood red. Her hair darkened, going from blonde to pitch black, while her skin became pale as the dead. "Long time no see, Shan," she whispered darkly as her embrace became a tight hold on his body, her voice dropping all the characteristics of the warm, friendly Ana persona. Diana stood there now as herself, holding him close and tight, smiling just to show of her fangs and her sense of victory. |

Shan was a bit startled, but relaxed into the kiss, letting his arms wrap around her back as she embraced him. He closed his eyes and savored the sensation. It felt soft and sweet, warming him all over. He was sad when she pulled away again, but they had all night, and the night lasted forever in this city. "Long time no see, Shan," she said, and Shan eyes flew open. Accompanying the chillingly familiar voice were bloodred eyes, dark black hair, pale skin, and then she smiled. Well, Shan now knew exactly what she was, thanks to those fangs. "Diana?!" he gasped. He tried pulling away, but vampires had amazing strength. Her arms held him tightly enough that he doubted he could even slide out. Normally he'd be happy about that, but discovering he was locked in a room with a vampire rather killed the mood. "Hi! Um, glad to see you're well," he continued to speak as he struggled to escape her embrace. "Sorry about the cart, that was a shame...Um, No hard feelings about that rat thing, just so you know. All water under the bridge. So, if you could perhaps loosen your grip a bit, we can shake hands like civilized folks and go our separate ways. Doesn't that sound nice?" |

Diana laughed darkly at his attempt to talk his way out of this. "That does sound so nice, Shan," she said, almost as though she were considering. "But I do have a better idea. Now, follow me with this, I bite deep into your neck, suck out some blood, enough to sate my appetite anyway. Then, if you survive, you get to wake up safe and sound, and just a little weak. Struggle and I will have a lot more fun that you will not survive from. Deal?" She did not really need him to answer with words. She licked her lips, and her eyes had inhuman hunger staring into the oncoming fear in his eyes. She leaned to his ear. "Now, relax," she whispered to him, moving closer to his neck, her eyes on his pulsing veins. She opened her mouth, but did not just dig in. It was alright for her to play around a bit first, after all. So she first slid her tongue out and licked his neck, the taste of fear in her mouth, making her salivate with need. Her fangs brushed against his skin before she dug her fangs in, her grip tightening over her prey as she let the blood flow slowly down her throat, practically purring in pleasure at the taste. She always felt a rush when she started feeding, and found her body rubbing against the poor bard who would likely no longer be finding himself so aroused by her. |

Shan's struggles combined with his fear, causing his muscles to pull in so many directions that he was effectively paralyzed. He felt himself beginning to sweat as she spoke, his eyes taking in all the little details as his brain concerned itself not with escape plans but with recording every detail of what were probably his final moments. The hungry look in Diana's eyes, the sheen of her hair, an eyebrow hair that was sticking out at an odd angle and gave him an urge to smooth it down. It was also, treacherously, composing a letter for home. "Dear Mother, You'll never guess who I ran into in Balefire today. Remember Diana?" She leaned in, and he shivered as she licked his neck. By the gods, Shan realized, she's savoring this. How happy was she when she found out she'd picked up a bard in the marsh? A traveling dinner show, that's what he was. A sharp point caressed the skin above his pounding jugular. Shan tried to force his brain to cooperate in a final attempt at freedom, but now it was noting a portion of wall that was slightly off color from the rest, and how this would be highly erotic if he wasn't about to be exsanguinated. He was almost grateful when she finally bit down. It stung, like miniature daggers, and his body sent shock signals as blood rushed out and was sucked up into Diana's mouth. "Well, I saw her again, and she asked me to join her for a bite..." his brain continued writing. He began to feel lightheaded and weak, his mind slowing and filling with fuzz. She could feel her grind against him, and really, this wasn't the worse way to go, considering the alternatives his life had presented. Huh, now he was thinking in the past tense. That wasn't good. He should at least try again, except his body felt limp and he was probably only standing because he was leaning against Diana. He tried his first and final line of defense. That felt like it functioned. "Please..." his vocal chords tensed enough to whisper. "Just let me live..." His eyelids fluttered shut as consciousness faded, his world narrowing down to the steady sucking on his neck and her arms around him. Edited by Shan Orison, Mon Oct 10, 2011 3:58 am.

She felt him lean against her as he got weaker and weaker. She did not care, taking in the sweet taste of blood, letting it rush through her, fueling her undead body and making her almost alive. She only slowed her pace when she heard him plead for his life one final time before he blacked out. It sent a tingling wave through her body. Some might have felt sorry for him, but she was elated by those words. In this moment she held the power of life and death over him, and that kind of power was intoxicatingly delightful. Her jaws let loose their grip and she licked the bite marks in his neck. She licked until the blood flow stopped trickling out. "I think I'd like to meet you again," she said, a soft smile lighting her face. "I rather liked the taste of you." She lifted the young man off his feet and put him softly on the bed. She stood up and looked down at her victim with a grin. She felt full, and now it was time to settle some of her other needs, like a bit of pocket money. She opened the case of his instrument where he still had a load of coins and took every last piece, putting them in her own bag. She didn't really need the instrument, so she left it for him. She then looked at the unconscious man and wondered if he might have anything on him that she would like. Truly there was only one good way to find out, so she went back to him and started taking off his clothes. Some ragged bag, clothes of a traveler, nothing special she thought she would want but by the time she was sure he only had his underwear on. She thought, with a devilish grin, she might as well leave him with a little joke on her part. Stripping him of his last article of clothing, she set his clothing outside the room door, and locked the door as she left, leaving the key with his clothes. This meant he would be locked in the room naked and having to wait for someone to come up and check on him. She imagined the barmaid coming up to find that silly naked bard and laughed to herself. It was good to have a laugh and her own small victory for a change in her unlife. |
