Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Ban smiled as he talked with the bouncy girl, answering her questions about local plant life and a few things of historical significance to his people. Ban felt his wounds and body throb, he was sore from the exertion, he was a chef that dabbled in martial arts, not the other way around. Though when they found the spot where they killed the bandits on the path, Rin started to throw their corpses over the edge, Ban watched as she threw them over the side, knowing that the men would be broken beyond recognition.

He turned his head from the ledge to look at her when she started speaking, she apologized for having to leave, he smirked and nodded, "It's okay, you've got something important to do right? So at least let me give you a small gift." He took his bag back from Rin and opened it, searching through it until he felt the ribbon, he pulled out the three small square wooden boxes, he handed them to her and smiled, "Take these as a going away present, this food should last you a day or so. Next time we meet I'll make plenty of fresh food, so until we meet again, good luck Rin, eat well and travel fast." He started down his own path, happy that his friend was so determined, but sad that she had to leave so soon.

Rin's smile returned with a vengeance when the chef handed her the small wooden boxes, sniffing at the containers with a delighted expression. She had come to enjoy the were-bear's cooking and would miss not having him around to prepare meals. After all, when she was on her own the girl tended to not cook at all, just eating whatever she could find on the road. "Thank you Banagher! I really appreciate it. I'm sure everything is super delicious." She opened up her satchel, carefully slipping the box in with the random assortment of items she had collected over her travels throughout Imythess. Once they were safely secured the construct lunged forward, grasping the were-beings paw in both of her hands and shaking it vigorously. "You're a good friend, Ban! Thank you for all of your help, with everything." She turned around, starting up the path away from the were-being village and monestary.

As she walked up the path the girl began to hum, the notes dissonant and warbling as she continued on her way. The artificial construct knew that she had no choice to search for the Grand Grimoire's next page. Even though she had pieces of glowing paper stuffed down both of her gauntlets and greaves, she knew that there was still a lot of work to do. The book refused to talk about whatever calamity had torn its pages out of its binding and scattered them across the realm, but it had certainly done a thorough job. She had traveled across the width and length of the land in her search and yet there were always more of the scattered fragments for her to find. A less resolute individual might have been disheartened by this fact, but Rin had been created for this purpose. It was impossible to hold her down.

The girl looked back over her shoulder, staring at the were-bear as he walked back to his village. She had enjoyed her time with Banagher, but it was good that they were parting ways. Typical mortals who traveled with her for an extended period of time tended to be injured in the dangerous situations he constantly experienced. It was safer for everyone if Rin was a primarily solitary creature, only asking for assistance when it was absolutely necessary. The construct smiled at the back of the chef before turning and continuing on her way, a smile on her face.
