Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Malaure continued stretching in the warm morning light. However, she was soon getting distracted by the tasty smell of roasting fish and chicken. She could see them on sheet of metal out of the corner of her eye and it looked like it was going to be a very tasty meal. ‘I wonder how early he got up to get all this going’, she thought to herself.

She slowed her exercise a bit to enjoy the smell. Plus it gave her a chance to respond to his question, “Oh I had a good night’s rest. No bad dreams or anything. I also get to wake up to the smell of a tasty breakfast. Really I don't know how you cooks, like yourself, keep from eating your food before you even finish cooking it.”

Finishing a leg stretch she then asked, “So about how long do we have to breakfast anyways? Also you must have been up pretty early to find all this stuff so thanks.” She smiled at him briefly as she started twist her arm and torso back and forth to stretch out those areas.

The sun had risen just a bit more so a few rays of the light were now reflecting off her scales as she stretched. It was more of a sparkling reflection of the light so it didn’t cause a real glare or anything, but it certainly made her a bit more noticeable for the time being.

He smirked at her statement, "Well the greatest joy for me is having people enjoy my cooking, so I would go to any lengths for my art. As for breakfast it should be ready in ten minutes. As for gathering the food, I always wake up at the crack of dawn to exercise, catch some food, and look for edible plants. It's just something I've done since I was a cub, I should be thanking you for giving me a reason to cook a better meal then normal." He flipped the meat and pressed down on it, flattening it so it would cook evenly, he dug through his pack and took out some of the dishes they had from last night, they were still slightly wet on the inside but that wouldn't harm the food at all. He gave one to Malaure and chuckled, "I have to admit, I can't wait until I have a good amount of gold, I want to buy a place and make it into my own eatery. It'll bring together tastes from all over the world, I'll have it in Cascadia. I will make good food cheap, I'll be able to feed dock workers who don't get paid much, even make enough for their family if they want to take some home. You'll be more then welcome to stop by and eat there once it's made Malaure."

He grinned at the thought of showing his skill once he had mastered it and opened up his shop, he would feed Malaure and all of his friends delicious foods from all over Chaon. He could smell the food clearly now, it was done, he quickly served her half of the meal, some fish, some pheasant, and some eggs plopping into her bowl. He handed her a fork as he used his spare hand to shovel the other half into his own bowl. He tasted the egg and pheasant, it was well done, the flavor wasn't to strong for a morning meal and it was nutritious, the yolk of the egg broke though, which allowed him to dip his meat into it as a kind of dipping sauce, it made the meal all the better.

Malaure finished up her exercises as Banagher put food into a bowl for her. She walked over it accepting the bowl with relish. She took her first bite and was delighted with the extra flavor. It really was like eating at one of the better inns in a city. Plus there was the bonus of being out side on a decent day too.

After her first bite she commented, “Excellent food and thanks for the meal. Still can’t imagine getting up that early. It sounds like such a pain when you can get some nice beauty rest instead. Still as long as it isn’t me getting up that early who is to complain.” She chuckled a little bit and smiled as she returned to the meal. She probably ate her meal a lot slower than Banagher, but she still ate a good pace. Over all it was quite enjoyable and she found a satisfied smile wouldn’t leave her face the entire time.

She found the fish particularly good. The pheasant was alright, but then she never found pheasant that good for some reason. She didn’t say this of course, but her preference for the fish would probably be clear as she ate. Regardless she eventually finished it all, patting her stomach in satisfaction.

She then decided to tease him a little bit. “You know I was almost considering inviting you to be the chef on my ship the next time I take it out for an adventure, but if I do I think I will get terribly fat from demanding to eat too much good food.” She giggled a little bit to see how the boy reacted. She wondered if he would even be interested in such a job. If she ever got around to do another sea voyage that was.

Banagher chuckled, "It would be an honor, I doubt you'd get fat though, your body is strong and lithe, I'm sure the only thing that overshadows your sleek and powerful form is the beauty of your movements." He smirked as he ate his food, appreciating the taste of the fish and pheasant, he only wished he had rice, they would have absorbed the juices of the meats and would have had a slight fish taste or pheasant taste. He finished his bowl and set it aside, he would wash it later, he stood up and stretched, he smiled at Malaure, "If you do go on a sea voyage though, I would personally like to pick your stock, I prefer to choose my ingredients personally. I can tell the difference between high grade ingredients and high grade ripoffs. Not to mention I know a few small business owners that sell good ingredients for cheap."

He shifted into his hybrid form, stretching and extending and retracting his claws. He walked over to the nearest tree, scouring deep marks into it with quick swipes of his claws. He started to switch between slashing with his claws and palm strikes on the tree, the bark cracking underneath his were-bear strength. He turned, satisfied and shifted to his human form, he smiled at Malaure, "Sorry about that, I need to work off some energy and I expend a lot more when I'm in my hybrid form. Now Malaure, would you like anything specific for lunch? I can search the forest for what I need and I still have the lake to fish in, so, what would you like?" He began rubbing his head, he couldn't wait for what challenging dish she might come up with.

Malaure laughed a bit at how serious this guy could be over cooking food. She was a bit surprised at the sudden shift, but his explanation sounded alright. Still transforming just to burn energy was a little overboard in her opinion.

“To be honest I don’t have thoughts about lunch yet. You must eat as much as two or three people to be thinking about that already.” Her smile then turned into a grin at a thought she just had. “Also there are better ways to burn off energy. I think I have a good idea in mind and you won’t even have to go looking for lunch in the forest. Now then if you will follow me down to the lake shore.”

She then got up and walked down to the lake until her feet were just touching the edge of the water. She then pulled out a small ship in a bottle and uncorked it. With a wooshing sound the ship seemed to blow out of the bottle and a small, but full sized ship appeared anchored in the deeper part of the lake, just a bit away from the spray of Memphian Falls. Turn to him with the same grin.

“Okay here is the deal we race out to my ship there for fun. Once there we can practice a bit of martial arts. Plus once it is actually lunch time you can cook in the galley with some of the supplies still there. Don’t have much besides dried and salted stuff, but there should be a few spices there too. Anyways I am so going to beat you there, so race START!”

With that Malaure took to the air speeding off to the boat. She wanted to see, just how fast this bear man could get out to the ship. Of course she was assuming he could swim fairly well.

OOC: sorry for the delay in posting.

(OOC:No problem, I'm a patient dude.)

Ban gaped at the ship appearing from the bottle, his jaw dropping at the thought of the larder on that boat, it would be wonderful if he could cook in a fully stocked, fully functional kitchen. When she offered a race, some sparring, and the opportunity to cook using the ship's larder, he couldn't pass it up. He smiled broadly, "Alright, let's go then, on your mark... get set... go!" He charged head, shifting into his hybrid form for extra strength, using his long arms and legs to gain speed, he had gone swimming in ponds and lakes, he found his hybrid form the superior speed swimmer, using his bear-like strength and his humanoid arm length to get the best result possible for himself. He had no idea where Malaure was, he concentrated on the boat, swimming as fast as he could.

Once he had arrived to the ship he put a hand against it, hauling himself up, using his long arms to grab the boat's siding, pulling himself up on the deck. He laid back, breathing slowly as he let the sun shine down on him, had he won... or had Malaure beat him to it, he opened his eyes to find out

Malaure coasted through the air as she pulled away from the shore and came closer and closer to the ship. She wasn’t going her fastest, but she still was going at a pretty good pace. She glanced down a few times to see Ban the bear swimming along at a quick pace. He certainly was strong to force his way through the water like that.

She dove once down in front of his path, near the ship, before pulling up and landing on the deck a little less than half a minute ahead of the fellow. As he pulled himself up she looked him up and down.

“You look terrible in all that wet fur you better dry yourself up…” It was then he fell on his back. “Ah see you are already on that part. Still you gave a good race. Haven’t seen many who can swim that fast.

You know it would be a lot better if you just grew scales instead of all that fur much better in my opinion and might make cuter too.”
She said that last part in a jokingly teasing way to see if she could get the guy to laugh a bit. Plus it was fun teasing guys a little. Their reactions were really cute and funny sometimes.

She leaned up against the ship’s mast and waited for to see what Ban’s reaction would be. She thought about what else they could talk about too. After all it would take a bit for him to dry off all that wet fur. She certainly hadn’t found out everything interesting about this guy yet and her curiosity was always a bad habit of hers. Perhaps she would ask him how he first learned about cooking stuff.

Ban chuckled as he looked up at Malaure, "Cuter eh? Who needs looks when I can cook a three course meal that won't even have you gain a pound." He chuckled as he laid there, letting the sun slowly dry off his fur. He looked up at her, "Maybe you should lay down to, laying about in the sun feels good. Plus it'll be a while before I'm dry and light enough to move around unhindered." He remembered days he'd lay around when he was a child, after his mother had bathed him he had long hours of just laying around and horsing around with his brothers.

He cracked an eye open, "Anything you'd like to talk about? We've got a little while until I'm dried off." He kept only a single eye cracked open, waiting for her to talk, he didn't really have much on his mind and he was relatively free to talk about anything. He combed through what things he knew... and most of it was about cooking or martial arts, though he much preferred cooking he doubted that she would care much about that, cooking was boring to many people, he had found few that truly enjoyed it. He smirked as he waited for her to talk.
