| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Vyse saw it submerge, that was either a good thing and he injured it horribly... or it was going to wait for him to let down his guard and strike. He turned to look at where it had come from... it could have taken a round about course, but the serpent came at him rather quickly from a single direction... he might as well head over there, see if whatever is controlling the thing was probably in that direction... but something just irked him, leaving this thing here... it could go after any crowds or judges, he couldn't risk it, he needed to kill it. He made sure his helmet was on all the way before sheathing Blitz and Lita, their enchantments either being useless or dangerous in the underwater battle. He now only had Sopheur and Fenrir, the ice enchantment on the blade would be even more effective in the water, freezing larger chunks of the serpent would slow it down a bit, that could allow him to kill the beast. Freezing it and causing large wounds with Sopheur wouldn't give him an edge though, the serpent was in it's home waters... his shark would have to do all the movements as he held onto it's fin with his other two arms. He had the shark dive, holding on tight to his shark, now was the time for a true nautical battle. |

Vyse appeared to be taking the bait, and Sebastian forced a vicious smile into his tired jaws. He watched as he sheathed two of his weapons, one of them being the one that crackled with electricity. It was a disappointment. Sebastian would have felt no remorse for his creation had it been fried along with Vyse in an enchantment mishap. The human came into Asmodeus' domain, exactly as Sebastian had planned. Under water, Vyse's blades would be less dangerous. While the enchantment upon Sopheur would still burn the undead sea serpent, the sharpness of both Sopheur and Fenrir would be compromised by the water, and their force would be slowed by the drag. Down here, Asmodeus had the advantage. As Vyse and his shark approached the levyathan, it raised its mighty tail, using its immense strength to throw it out at its prey, attempting to thrash him. His attack was unsuccesful, however, though with any luck, it might have caused Vyse's shark to panic or flinch. The enormous tail cut through the sea, propelling walls of water towards the human, causing waves to crest on the surface above. Sebastian commanded his serpent to ascend now, to turn into body around and strike with jaws for a second time. The creature was hesitant; the necromancer could sense its reluctance. It had been seared so badly by that flaming blade once before, and the flames seemed to persist even underwater, the only thing the monster could see clearly beneath the murky water. The genasi was experiencing similar vision problems. From above the water, he had no view of the battle. Until he felt his will severed from Asmodeus', or until Vyse' body floated lifelessly to the surface, he would have no way of judging the battle. Neither would the spectators. Sebastian could at least remedy a half of this problem, and he activated his second sight, black wraith's eyes that he had gained only recently. This was his first time putting them to proper use. Clutching his face, he felt an agony unlike anything he had experienced. It was as if he was growing new bones, but they were growing where his eyes should be. He felt tears well in the corners of his eyes, but they weren't warm like normal tears. They were deathly cold, as if he were crying ice water. A black film coated his eyes, staining them entirely black. His vision had changed, had become something brand new. He no longer saw in colors, his eyes no longer interpreted light energy. Instead, he was perceiving life energy. All things lifeless, the rock, the water, his cage, were shades of gray, forming a dull, charcoal environment, but looking into the gray water, his saw faint glowing coming from far beneath the surface. A great black patch and a small white one charged towards eachother. The bigger one, Sebastian guessed, was Asmodeus, its negative lifeforce represented to the necromancer as a black glow, while the white patch was Vyse and his hark, representing their postivie lifeforce. A single, black tear leaked from the film on his new eyes, rolling down his cheek, but it wasn't a tear of sorrow. Beneath the waves, the monstrous Asmodeus raised its mighty head and lashed out with its razor-sharp teeth, aiming to rip the great white shark away from its rider. |

Vyse gripped his shark as it panicked from the large waves of water, jerking him about, but he kept on his shark and soothed him, using one arm to hang on and the other to rub spots he knew the shark was sensitive to, doing so lightly to give it a more pleasant feeling. Once the shark calmed down he saw the serpent strike towards them, he barely had enough time to let go of the shark as it was devoured in the maw of the giant serpent, though Vyse had been lucky, he thrust Fenrir into it's back and was taken along with it until they surfaced, the beast devouring his shark, but he had frozen Fenrir in place on it's back. He roared in triumph as he sank Sopheur into it, slashing off bits around him, but keeping a hand on Fenrir to keep him from falling. He looked around while he was on the back of the serpent, he saw a small island a ways off, it would be a short swim to get to, and his next stop once he had finished with the serpent. He let Sopheur bite deep into it, hoping that it will die some time soon, he couldn't keep this up forever. ((OOC: Lan De Yue Jia/Lita's magical starlight cage/web deal ends in ten minutes, but from all of the water fighting and ripping out a mast, I'd saw the cage would be ending in your next post.)) |
