Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

She had heard somewhere that there were Griffons in the Debon Plains. It had been her lifelong dream to have a Griffon as a companion. After all, they had wings, and were extremely loyal if they felt truly respected by their master. Even better, they could actually understand people when they spoke. They were amazing creatures, and she couldn’t wait to have one at her side. She was still trying to figure out how she was going to do this though. She’d never have the heart to ‘capture’ the creature. She would have to somehow help him, or maybe show that she’s a good person to be around or... something...

She couldn’t believe how dead this area looked. Debon Plains, as they were called. Well, she certainly agreed with whoever had named this land. It was definitely very plain. It was hard to imagine that there were animals living in this, with all the dirt and lack of green. She shrugged her shoulders, figuring that there were just some animals that didn’t like having trees and grass all around them. Maybe some animals thrive off this kind of climate.

As she looked around, she started to regret coming here. Not only did the area in general seem dead, but there was very little activity as well. She started to feel like she was the only one here. But shortly after that, she heard movement nearby. She stopped in her tracks and looked around. She had her wings folded tightly behind her, trying to maximize the area that she could see without her wings being in the way, like they usually are.

She was wearing her light blue dress, which she didn’t wear very often anymore, and her like-new elven boots. She would usually wear slippers or something with her dress, but these boots were the only footwear that she owned now. Considering how dusty and dirty it was out here though, she was glad that she was wearing these boots. If she wore slippers or sandals, her feet would be filled with dirt by now. She hadn’t tied her hair back into a pony, which made it move around with the breeze but luckily it didn’t get in her eyes if it drooped to the side of her face.

Was she daydreaming just now? Or was someone making her eyes play tricks on her? As if she just snapped out of a trance, she noticed there were actually a few villagers and other people walking around the area. Maybe they all just had to do their errands at the same time... or something... She was hoping that she was just daydreaming and not paying attention, because she really didn’t want to go see a doctor.

Wait a minute...

She was a doctor...

Even better, she was a healer. She couldn’t help but wonder if she was even able to heal herself from magically inflicted wounds or not, or heal herself to fight against unwanted potions. Part of her really didn’t want to find out, but part of her wanted to know so that she’d know for future reference, just in case she was ever in that type of situation.

Either way, she wasn’t in that situation right now and she probably looked really weird just standing there. She shook her thoughts away and looked in front of her, and then started walking again. Maybe one of these people would point her in the right direction of where these Griffons were supposed to be...

While some proved to be of happier moods in the Debon Plains, one man wasn’t entirely too thrilled with his predicament; forced at loss of a bet to a devil, the classic style and supposedly the classic demon. Two men travelled behind him, one carrying a rainbow-colored umbrella to shade himself from the sun, otherwise wearing a rather peculiar style. A red and thin black striped suit jacket upon a black shirt, both unbuttoned and open, black pants, no shoes, and what might seem to be as a white scarf wrapped around his neck. Not only that, but a bright smile upon his face. And following a bit back and to his right, a man a bit shorter perhaps by an inch, simply wearing a black suit and no hair upon his head, though something interesting to note was the dark rings around each of his eyes which made it seem like a mask.

The man at the front glared back and over his shoulder to the one holding the umbrella, who seemed as if he were in a tavern, listening to a nice bit of music. It simply served to unsettle the guide even further, bringing him to face forward once more, his fingers seeming to itch for something. This didn’t go unnoticed by the man holding the umbrella, slowly tilting it forward before the rim would tap the man on the back of the head, triggering him to react, bringing a sword from a previously unseen sheathe to strike out at the one tapping him with the umbrella, only to find nothing but the umbrella there.

“Are you trying to duel with it?” Came the voice of the man who had just been holding the sun-blocker, chuckling a bit now from behind the man, which would have been in front had he still been facing forward, “Though, I warn you. It’s a tricky one to duel, doesn’t fight fair.” Upon the man’s forehead as the words escaped from his lips was a third eye, as large as the others and glowing as red though vertical as the other two were horizontal, though he wasn’t angry in the least. He knew he was antagonizing the guide to attack; he wanted to see about reaffirming that he was quite a bit more powerful.

The man pivoted about, once more lashing out with his sword, only to find yet again the demon wasn’t there, now off to his side and well out of blade’s reach. “Now, now. If you’re done playing around, I would really like to get back to work, I would like to at least see a gryphon before sundown, and if you’ve come all the way out here just to try and end our contract in a way not listed… I’m afraid I’ll have to terminate you, instead.” His gaze became serious this time, and once more the guide struck out, just to find that he wasn’t there, but instead behind him, though the umbrella was now gone, flying up and through the air to yet another image of the demon a few yards away, standing next to his suited companion.

“How much longer do you think he’ll keep this up?” He asked, leaning over as he watched the sight with a grin on his face, a shrug coming from the suited man as he watched.

“Kann nicht ehrlich zu beantworten.” Came the words past the pale lips of the man as he spoke in a language most demonic, yet under a hushed tone so as to drag attention of the other people wandering about.

“Then by all means, my friend… Lie!” Came the common-tongued response from the three eyed man with a laugh, watching the man continue to strike out against the images, seeming to not realize that they were mere fakes, what a fool he seemed.

“Ein oder zwei Jahre, dann wird er sterben.“

She frowned when she overheard some men talking. They seemed to be very upset with each other. She moved further away from them as soon as she noticed that they were fighting. The last thing she wanted was to get stuck in the middle of it all. The fight only seemed to escalate, and when the man with his sword out continued to lash out at the other men, she locked her eyes on his sword and whispered “Pacify weapon.” As quietly as she could so that nobody would hear her.

Even though she didn’t fully understand the situation, she hated to see others fighting. She enjoyed preventing people from hurting each other. If she cast the spell correctly, the man wouldn’t be able to use his sword in any harmful way. The blade would feel more like an inflatable baseball bat than any sharp edge. No matter what he did, it would not physically harm his opponents. Of course, this would only last for a few minutes, maybe about ten minutes. A lot could happen in that amount of time, though.

He wouldn’t even be able to knock somebody out with the sword, now that it was pacified. Lyvian heard the call of her falcon and briefly closed her eyes to share sight with him. Now she could see another couple of men watching the fight. They reminded her of demons, kind of, just by the way that they stood on the ground. She didn’t want to seem too concerned about somebody else’s business, though, so she held out her arm for her falcon to land on her arm, and opened her eyes again to watch the falcon perch itself.

With that done, she started walking again, in the same direction as she was walking before she noticed the fight. She didn’t really want to get involved with whatever dangers were associated with those men, so she continued on her way, keeping her eyes on them in case they decided to approach her. She could only hope that she was subtle enough with her spell that they didn’t notice...

For about another minute did the foolish-looking weapon-swinging of the man continue on, Lu and Ornias continuing to watch in a bit of rather needed glee. The journey so far had been unhappily long, it was a good thing to stop for a while to laugh at the sight of a fool, who first lost a bet and then couldn’t seem to tell reality from false-hoods. It wasn’t like the devil was even putting any real work into trying to fool him, it just sort of happened. The three-eyed fiend turned his gaze over to his disguised companion, whispering something into his ear for a moment. With his gaze breaking from the sight of their guide, so too did the magic, a slip on his part with all honesty, one of which he was sure to pay for as the blade the man held shifted within a moment’s notice, slicing through the air quickly with full intent to sever the devil’s head from his shoulder.

Things seemed to pause for a moment, however. The sword upon his flesh, the words he had been uttering towards his imp. He didn’t even shift his gaze at the apparently failed attack, and while the guide’s sword might have been pacified, the devil wasn’t.

“Well… That wasn’t very nice.” The words finally passed by his lips, cool, detached… haunting. The sort of sound which passed by the lips of a man about to kill another ruthlessly, relentlessly; he had not a single idea of what had stopped the sword, and at the same time he had no particular interest to care. Whatever had happened kept a rather nasty wound from appearing upon his flesh, which only served to be a better thing as his fingers curled around the sword’s blade, pulling it away from his face slowly as he glared to his contracted guide.

“Did you really think that would cut me?” He said, coldly once more as his eyes met with the man’s, the third one upon his forehead slowly closing as he pulled the sword closer, as well as the now truly frightened man, “I am The Devil, after all.” Lucifer reminded the man, his other hand coming to pry the fingers of the man’s hand from his own sword, relinquishing the weapon slowly, calmly, his gaze unwavering, not wanting to give even the hint of a moment’s relief to this man who had just tried to truly kill him.

“So, let’s try to keep from any accidents like that in the future, okay?” He said, the other two eyes shutting and a warm and happy smile placing itself upon his face and taking air in the tone to his words, as if nothing had happened, talking to the guide as if he were a child who simply didn’t know better than to do something like that to him. Though, honestly, it had gotten him a bit worried, not like he couldn’t recuperate from something like that given enough time, that wouldn’t stop it from hurting.

Lyvian’s eyes widened as she continued to witness what was going on. That man could have murdered him, had she not pacified the weapon. She didn’t know the man, but she started to get a feeling that she should have left the sword alone.

As she continued walking, she was able to hear their conversation now. She walked beside somebody else in the crowd so that she wasn’t that obvious, but when she heard the three-eyed man say ‘I’m the Devil, after all.’ She couldn’t help but stop and stare. It was like every muscle in her body decided to tense up, not allowing her to keep walking. She really didn’t mean to stare, and she certainly didn’t want to be rude or make him upset, but she had never before even heard about the Devil really existing.

All her life, she had concentrated on helping people, and healing them, healing their hearts and their bodies. She was basically doing the opposite work that the Devil did. She wasn’t sure if he was actually the Devil or not, but she didn’t want to take her chances to find out. Her heart raced, her eyes glued on the trio, her muscles not even twitching.

Never before, had her muscles refused to move from being so frightened. One would think that she wouldn’t have anything to worry about, being able to heal herself and all, but the Devil was a symbol of all the things that she was against, and of all the things that she tried so hard to avoid. Her wings were folded tightly behind her, and her hands down at her sides, in fists. She didn’t even realise that she stuck out like a sore thumb now, just standing there watching them as everyone else kept moving around her, some of them bumping into her and mumbling rude remarks.

The guide was utterly struck with awe, shaking and otherwise unmoving, he hadn't imagined that the devil could be so powerful as to stop the blade at his neck without even having to look. It was his only chance at freedom from his contract, he had read and reread it enough times, trying to figure out a way, though many stared him in the face he hadn't even realized it, only that if he were somehow to manage to kill this self-claimed Lucifer, that such a feat would free him from the binding chains of his contract. However, even still he could feel that sense of hopelessness, his hand free of his sword, beads of sweat rolling down his exposed flesh, completely lost for words or for actions. The only thing which freed him from this sort of imprisonment was the snapping of the devil's fingers in front of his face, shaking him from his fear and making him jump as he stood up straight from his poor-form battle position. It seemed he must see this through to the end, though very likely the gryphons were avoiding all of the people about. Without a word, the guide turned away from the two that he led, slowly moving forward and givnig the devil his oppertunity to turn and talk with his disguised companion.

For a moment, they held a back-and-forth conversation, the meaning hidden within the demonic words, but perhaps clear to only three beings that were in the area. The devil, the imp and the person who had cast the magic upon the sword to keep its cold steel from biting into the very flesh of his neck. The imp made a glance towards the woman standing so perfectly still amongst the crowd, seeming to be disassociated from the world. A few more words past subtly through Lu's lips to his companion, urging him to continue onwards and keep an eye on the guide, to be sure that he would not try to run from their sight, something which could so easily become a bother. Without a second thought, the human-looking imp nodded, and left the devil to his own devices and his own works.

For a moment, the devil just stood there, twirling his rainbow-colored umbrella in his hand, the pole rested against his shoulder. Of course, the one that stood wasn't even the real one, the umbrella twisting from telikensis, something easily utilizing the crowds as the true devil made his way quietly behind the woman before the copied image would seem to throw the umbrella up into the air letting it drift upon the air for a moment to be caught by the true devil standing behind the shocked woman. He couldn't help but wonder what she had heard to make her stop so suddenly.

"Hello." He would say simply, resting the umbrella upon his shoulder once more and in such a way that she would be covered ni the shadow from it, playing her surprise off as if she had simply suffered from a bit of heatstroke, not letting on that he might have realized that she heard what he was, who he was. "Standing out in this heat, you really should take better care of yourself. You seem downright exhausted!" He said happily, a good amount of care riddling his voice, as if he were actually concerned with her health or safety.

She started to feel really uneasy when they started talking some crazy language. It definitely sounded like a language that the Devil would know. She didn’t even try to understand the words, because she had never tried to learn any different languages in her life. She knew elven, and the common tongue, but that was about it. When the trio broke up, the man with the sword leaving first, then the other man, she tried to move her muscles around so that she could keep walking, but that didn’t go so well. It ended up looking like she was having trouble with the heat, losing her balance a bit.

She watched as the Devil stood there, twirling his umbrella, and she became a bit confused when he just threw it up in the air. It startled her when the umbrella came toward her, but then somebody behind her caught it. She jumped, turning her body around quickly when somebody said hello to her. She looked at who it was, and then looked back to see if the Devil was still standing there. She looked back at the man who said hello, and realised that it was the Devil standing in front of her. Fear was obvious in her eyes now, and she choked up when she tried to say hello back.

With a second attempt, she managed to say “Hi” with a very quiet voice, barely audible over the crowd. Something within that time of the Devil sneaking up behind her made her falcon familiar jump into flight, flying off somewhere to where he felt safer. Lyvian was unprepared for him to take off, so his talons ended up leaving deep cuts in her shoulder where he was just previously perched. The cuts didn’t seem to faze her as she gathered the courage to speak. “Oh umm I’m okay. I’m a bit thirsty, but it’s nothing I can’t handle.” She said her voice a bit shaky and uneven. She really wished that she had more control over her muscles right now so that she could make a run for it. She was thankful that he was nice enough to give her some shade, but she couldn’t tell how long that would last.

Lu watched with a slight of curiosity as the bird flew off and away, leaving a pretty uncomfortable looking set of scratches on its once-mount’s shoulder. Apparently, animals were still rather good at sensing sources of ultimate evil, how intriguing. The devil had thought that after such a long time of not being around much more than a bug, the animals would have forgiven him for so many of his past atrocities… Though maybe they had, and instead had chosen to start focusing on all of the other monstrous things he had done over the years which they just weren’t prepared to forgive him for just yet. Or maybe they were holding such animosity towards him for things he had yet to do, which he actually considered to be a rather fair viewpoint on the situation. After all, it wasn’t like he was about to stop having fun any time soon.

His two, currently brown-colored, opened eyes met with a bit of confusion with this girl’s. A good deal she did seem to be rather fearful of him, but overall he could still see that fear crawling beneath her very skin at being next to him. Apparently she had heard him mention something that she didn’t like, possibly the truth of who he was, so many people seemed so unable to come to grips that such a nice guy like him, aside from all of the rather evil things he liked to do on a regular basis, could actually be the Devil himself! Of course, Luci wasn’t about to let on just yet that he knew that she knew that he was one of the ultimate forms of evil incarnate ever to exist and be cast down to the very bowels of Hell where he could and most likely would forever rule until the end of time. He wanted to have a bit of fun with her, first. Playing as if she simply had a heat stroke, to try and ease her mind and see if it would be so easy to break her confidence again later.

Listening carefully to her words, the devil reached back and beneath his un-tucked shirt, pulling forth a canteen, one that was full since he had seen no reason to actually drink from it, he preferred wines on days like this, not waters. Checking to make sure it was still full, that none of it had evaporated, he put it forth, offering it to her with a warm smile, “Here, you look like you could use this a lot more than I could. Don’t worry, I haven’t taken a drink from it or anything.” He spoke with a light, cheery and otherwise friendly tone. He was a rather nice guy, beneath his penchant for the shadier dealings in life and death… Usually death, who the devil didn’t get to see very often. He liked talking to the ultimate being, it was interesting to see the views of a truly immortal being on the lives and limitations of the mortal creatures.

She didn’t blame her falcon for wanting to get away from him. She kind of wanted to fly away herself, but at the moment that didn’t seem like a choice that she had available to her. After all, it was impolite to run off after a stranger just gave her a canteen full of water. It was only right to stay and chat for a while. Who knew, maybe this man was just joking around and he wasn’t actually the Devil...

She held her breath as he reached around for something beneath his shirt, and couldn’t help but laugh at herself when his hand came back around holding a canteen. Her laugh was very quiet, and she silenced herself when he spoke again. She smiled, feeling her insides tremble with relief that his hand didn’t come back around with a sword or any sort of weapon. Although she was able to pacify weapons, she could only do one at a time. At this point, it would be another few minutes before she could pacify another weapon.

She accepted the canteen, saying “Thank you very much.” She sipped it at first, watching him while she did so, soon taking bigger sips because the water just felt so good in her throat. She paused, and decided to introduce herself. He was nice enough to give her water, despite what she had overheard him say. “I’m Lyvian.” She held out a hand for him to shake, and hoped that he introduced himself as well. She really hoped that he only shook her hand, and didn’t try doing something else. She didn’t know what he might try to do, but she was sure that he had a brain full of ideas.

Lucifer just loved to play things like this, to work this girl’s discomfort with being so close in his presence. However, to see her continuing to try and hide it away was just too amusing for him to even bear the thought of passing up. Luckily for her, the devil had done nothing to the water; it wasn’t treated with anything that wasn’t meant to simply purify it. Oh, but if only he had known he would be coming across somebody that created such an interesting and otherwise intriguing situation, he would have planned accordingly. Oh, the things that he missed out on with his powers being locked away from him upon this world.

Already it seemed that he was beginning to win over her trust, listening to her name as she spoke it, he couldn’t imagine anybody that exhibited such fear to be so openly willing to share their name with somebody that they truly thought was the devil, himself! So far he wasn’t even truly lying, he simply had so far pointed out what anybody might think upon seeing this woman, and so did he treat her with a kind smile to his face, his third eye so skillfully hidden behind his black and white bangs.

“It is truly a pleasure to meet you, Lyvian.” He commented with a slight and warm-hearted type of chuckle, a bit truly happy to have gained so much of her trust, even if it was merely a tidbit. “And might I add; what a beautiful name it is.” He added on these words, a slight bit of a gentlemanly tone coming about his voice, a good play to add on from his good manners, something which could often be found as an optional trait amongst any being with such wealth and power, though upon Chaon he only held with him the wealth that came from past dealings.

“My name is Lucifer Morningstar, but you can call me Lu, if you want, or any other nickname you happen to think up.” He said with a short bow, as much as he could afford while holding the umbrella, not wanting for his newest acquaintance to be void of its shade for even a moment. The bow was short-lived as he stood back up, nice and tall at six feet and four inches, a slight edge to undermine his niceties when coupled so well with his black and red suit combination. Despite how friendly he might act towards her, he also wanted to keep a slight bit of intimidation behind each action, simply playing on appearances alone, though he would leave his third eye out of such a thing for the time being. Perhaps if he felt the need to act particularly sinister or untrustworthy he would allow not only his third eye to open, but all three of them to turn to their red glow, as well. Of course, that time did not seem like it would be soon. No, he wasn’t even sure just yet if she would be one worth contracting.

"Thank you." Lyvian couldn’t help but smile widely when he complimented her name so well. "My name is actually Sullyvann, but I just go by Lyvian instead. Lyvian sounds much prettier, I think..." She was starting to think that she had heard him wrong. Could it be possible that the Devil was this nice? No.... It didn’t make any sense to her. Her mind was too concentrated on the good in others’ hearts that she could never understand such a thing. Perhaps later on, her thoughts would change... but she’d still think it was impossible that such a nice man like him was the Devil.

His name brought back some worries though. Growing up, she had heard many dark stories of a fallen angel named Lucifer. She didn’t think anything of it, though, because he was talking about nicknames! What kind of evil soul had nicknames?

But then again.... ‘Devil’ is a nickname....

She did her best to hide her running thoughts about this man, as she tried to decide what to think of him. She finally decided that she was jumping to conclusions. She was letting childhood stories frighten her! This was getting very silly very quickly.

So, she let herself calm down as he bowed and stood up tall. She wasn’t usually one to feel intimidated, but with his black and red suit, it was hard to not feel that way. “So... if I may ask, who was that man that had tried to kill you? I couldn’t help but be so curious...” she said, watching him carefully. She couldn’t help but wonder if he’d tell her the truth, or if he’d make it into some kind of joke. From what she was watching earlier, it did not seem like any sort of joke. Either way, though, she was very interested in what he’d say about it. She just really hoped that he wouldn’t get upset about her being nosy.

“Ah.” Lu sounded out, more a musing, really, at what he real name was. She had definitely chosen a better interpretation of her name, what were her parents thinking? Ah well, such a thing was little mater in the long run, the contract would work either way if the devil so desired to contract this one, though if he did end up wanting to bind her by word of paper, he would need to be able to find out just what it was that she could provide for him, after all, it wasn’t like he made a habit of simply going about and contracting random people! Lucifer had more class than that, he had this idealism of holding himself to a higher standard when it came to it, and it wasn’t something he was going to give up any time soon.

He paused from his thoughts for a moment, seeing that she was indeed suffering from the desired affects of his stature, a bit of confusion seemed to bubble beneath the surface of her skin, that at the same time she was warming up to her, she still seemed to be ill at ease with his presence. His black and red suit, his intimidating nigh-royal way of holding himself, doing it in just such a manner that it seemed to be shady and untrustworthy; he worked rather hard at this. Though, with each moment passing, he was finding just a bit more entertainment, though he was sure there would be no gryphons this day, perhaps this girl, Lyvian, would prove to be more interesting than he initially thought.

While he couldn’t be sure, judging by her words alone, of just what she had seen, what she knew and how long she had been paying attention or even if she had anything to do with the blade stopping at the devil’s throat, he did find it to be slightly interesting that she asked about such a thing. Nobody else had seemed even the remotest bit interested. And while normally, being called the Father of Lies, Lucifer might be more prone to weaving some convincing story about what he was doing with that man, he decided that he could much easier tell the truth… while leaving out some otherwise unimportant details, such as the terms of the contract that the guide was under or just who he was… no, Lu was going to wait for a better time to spring his true identity on her.

“He was contracted after losing a bet to aid me in locating a gryphon so that I may capture and train it. He didn’t want to fulfill his end of our written agreement and then tried to go and lop my head off…” He paused for a moment, shifting his head just a bit, cocking it to the side a tiny amount as he looked to Lyvian. “You wouldn’t have happened to have anything to do with the sword stopping at my throat, would you? If so, I truly must thank you for keeping my head on my shoulders.”

“That hardly seems fair.” She said, after Lu explained that he didn’t fulfil his end of the contract and decided to try to ‘lop’ his head off. She was starting to feel very uncomfortable from the way he held himself. She wasn’t used to people standing like that so close to her. Even if he was barely within arm’s reach, it was still a closer encounter than what she was comfortable with, given what she had heard him say before they began talking...

“Oh, yes. You’re very welcome. I like to avoid all sorts of conflict, and I tend to intervene whenever somebody gets violent. That man’s sword should be back to normal now because the spell only lasts a few minutes.” She then straightened out her posture, trying to make herself a bit taller as well. She took in a deep breath so that the correction seemed to be more casual. She looked around the area, thinking that she should probably leave this man to his business. She wasn’t sure if she wanted to know any specifics of the contract, or if he’d dare trying to get her into one.

Her eye contact as she spoke started to break, as if parts of the crowd kept distracting her or something. “Well, Mr. Morningstar, it was very nice to meet you.” Lyvian spoke in a very polite manner, but Lu would easily be able to tell that she wanted to get away from him now. She started to step away, and then remembered she was still holding onto his canteen. “Oh, here’s this back. Thank you very much for sharing it with me. I just need to find someplace where there are not so many people so that I can stretch out my wings. They’re feeling really stiff now. You may keep me company if you like, but I think I should just go.” She didn’t want to be rude, but at the same time, she supposed it wouldn’t hurt to keep some company with her. Even if it possibly was the Devil.

Yes, all-in-all it was a rather severe and unfortunate set of circumstances. Man loses bet to the devil, himself, and feels the sudden urge to back out of the agreement as quickly as possible. If it hadn't been for Lyvian, then Ornias would have had to lock down the bastard long enough for Lucifer to get back p and to his full energy. At least, full energy as far as the world of Chaon was concerned. Since his arrival to this world, Lu's powers had been rather... restricted. It made things more interesting, though. He was able to try this exciting concept of working his way through the differant levels of power as per the guidelines set by whatever gods once used to watch over this vast world. Wherever they had gone, maybe they wouldn't have allowed the devil to be on their world if they had been keeping a good and steady watch over it. Though, of course, gods or not he would have eventually found some way to breach the confines of their world.

Though, to return back to the situation at hand, it was an easy thing to have conveniently and occasionally slip his mind that he had made the bet with the man only to turn aronud and cheat, assuring that he would arise victorious and have the other man truly indebted to him to find him a gryphon, a good creature of enough power that it would be sure to strike a rather good amount of fear into the very souls of the devil's enemies. It would also be a great thing to take away the burden of havnig to walk, consdering its opwerful form and wings capable of giving such a large creature that wonderous ability of flight.

The devil stifled a light chuckle as he noticed his newest acquaintence straighten herself out just a bit, trying to make herself a bit taller, but the devil still remained the taller one of the two, though he did give a silent credit to the girl for at least trying. And graciously did he take the canteen back with a light smile with his free hand, placing it back behind him and underneath his shirt to hide it nice and away.

For just a moment, he paused, masterfully holding back a smile to the words and instead keeping a rather flustered sort of look on his face as he raised his head to such an offer, his currently brown eyes to meet with ehr gray.

"I would like to accompany you, but I wouldn't want to impose, Ms. Lyvian." He sopke, his words a bit cautious, with a slight bit of surprise thrown in there with just a dash of hope as well. Truly, he was skilled at crafting together magnificent lies and their ilk, even making it seem as though he were take off-guard by such a request. The reality was much differant, hwoever. this was merely a stepping stone in his plan to learn what he could about her, if he would want to contract her, or simply leave their relationship at being mere acquaintences, possibly even friends.

Lyvian smiled, “Oh, you would not be imposing, so long as you stand clear of my wingspan.” She laughed lightly, trying to hide how suddenly uneasy she felt when their eyes met. She motioned for him to follow or walk with her, and lead the way to a secluded area. It wasn’t completely out of sight of civilians; however, it was a lot more space than what she had before. The area was basically a field of dead brown grass, and a couple of trees a few yards away. In the distance one way, was where they just came from, and any other direction seemed to be more dead grass and more dead trees.

When she was clear of the trees and anything else around her, she finally spread her wings and stretched out the muscles. Her wingspan had to be about eleven feet from tip to tip, but the thousands of feathers filled her wings out to appear a lot larger than they were, making it appear to be an imperfection in how her body was constructed. It was like her body was supposed to be taller and a bit chunkier for it to look right. Either way, she was pretty much dancing in the field of dead grass as she stretched her wings to and fro, and flapped them up and down gently a few times.

This was also when she realised that the wound on her shoulder from her falcon’s talons had still not healed. So, she took a moment to place her hand over the wound, and healed it within a few seconds with a soft blue light shining from beneath her hand. When she was done, she moved her arm around to test out that she did it correctly, and then walked back over to Lucifer, wondering why he wanted to follow her in the first place. She wasn’t sure what he found so interesting about her, but she wasn’t about to make a big deal about having company for once.

“So, if I may ask, why would you have the man sign a contract to find you a gryphon? You couldn’t have just asked a favour of him?” she asked, taking in a deep breath, and then letting it out as she let her wings relax behind her, folded slightly.
