| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Marsh marsh marsh. How marshy it was. Wonderable if anyone named Marsha have ever been to a marsh. Probably, I mean maybe they found it silly and wanted to try it out? There was a Vernon that lived in the marsh. That Vernon was a pretty swell guy in all, besides for the whole nobody liked him thing. There was a good reason for that. He had a tendency to eat most things that entered his swamp. Evals was almost a victim once, twice, something like that. She had left someone at the Marsh to die before, that didn't set well with her friends. Her friends that vanished. Evals barely knew anyone that was left to be found in the lands. She didn't know where everyone was going by it's like they just seemed to stop existing. For the most part, homes and stuff still sat there, untouched and abandoned all over the land. Just, nobody went in them. Vernon was one of the few people Evals still knew, besides maybe Kreos but Kreos is Kreos. For now though, Evals was walking through the marsh doing Evals-like things. Maybe she would see Vernon, would he try and eat her? Attack her right away? She wasn't sure, maybe civil conversation was possible. She didn't know with this guy, from her memory he seemed polite enough or something. Something something, it was always something. Humming a tune, the Undead was not really enjoying the view. The marsh was ugly and if she could smell it was probably smelly too. |

Vernon was merely relaxing in his domain. At the present he was in a considerably appreciable mood, after all he had most recently claimed from the depths of the Hauntwood marsh an appropriate mark of his ownership, an emerald crown. It had some magical powers though Vernon couldn't discern what exactly they were. Nothing that needed to be activated it seemed. Vernon basked in the sun, partially submerged in the murky waters as he lay on a rock within a flooded area of the marsh. Vernon bit down on the rotted foot he held in his hands, consuming all five toes as well as most of the rest of the foot. The elf who had previously owned the foot had been quite fun to play with, though the pitiable creature's lacking elven constitution ultimately brought the games to an end far too soon. The poor creature's feeble pleas for mercy were still fresh as Vernon crunch the bones of the foot with his teeth, but Vernon's nose was quickly drawn to the smell of something that was considerably far from fresh. Something that had been rotting for years and yet still managed to not feed some hungry scavenger, obviously member of the undead. The smell was succulent but also familiar as Vernon soon noticed. It was the smell of Yaksha's minion, the little zombie girl. He couldn't recall her name, but it didn't matter. Had she come to join her master or betray another goody-two-shoe that dared to trust her? Vernon pondered her fate as he quickly made his way from tree to tree. In this manner Vernon chanced upon the power granted by the crown, noticing that jumping had become much easier and he could jump considerably further. With this new found grace he found the little zombie girl in little time at all. "Come to avenge the death of your master?" Vernon asked quizzically as he landed on tree limb above her. She certainly didn't seem to have brought anyone else for her to play with. |

There he was. Evals turned her gaze skywards, or at least canopy-wards. She thought for a moment about what Vernon meant. Multiple possibilities came to mind and it would be a pain to list them all in question form. So asking a question seemed much easier. “May I inquire as to who you're referring to, Rat?” The zombie asked and took glances around her while at least some of her vision trained on Vernon. She wanted to make sure she wasn't being surrounded by his pets or anything of the like. That wouldn't make this meeting any more fun for her. It did help that she had greater vision than most people but that feeling that he was laying out some kind of trap for her already was aching in the back of her mind. “Though no, I've not come here to avenge anything.” She added now giving her full attention back to Vernon. Maybe he wouldn't want to eat her for the.... gift she left him last time she was in this marsh. Well, danger was entertaining now and again. Lets see how this goes. |

Did she have so many that she had forgoten, or was she merely playing dumb? Perhaps the rotting of her brain was begining to effect her mind or prehaps the lesser details of thier first meeting has been blurred by his distate with the bothersome and traitorous Yaksha. "Ah, I thought you were one of Yaksha's underling, though it appears I am mistaken. I suppose it would be surprising if that fool able to place himself in charge of anything." "If you are not here for vengence, then what in all worlds brings you here to my Marsh bearing no gifts..... save yourself?" Vernon grinned, licking his chops at the end. She seemed alone, though it was doubtful she was entirely incapable of dending herself. Hounds would have tore her apart years were she truly defenseless, but at the same time she had only sought to save her freind from the marsh after finding Yaksha. Vernon let her answer the question before he decided. Perhaps she came for some reason that would be useful to him. |

Evals shook her head in response. He didn't seem to know much, but did he even leave the marsh? Maybe, but she didn't particularly care.“Ha!” Though what he said was almost insulting. Wait, it was. “Yaksha never held sway over me, I'll be damned if I'd let him.” She said and thought about mentioning the Shadow Society, it didn't seem worth it. Her point was proven. Yet what did bring her here, she had no reason to be here besides for.. “Boredom.” she answered. “Boredom and you're one of the last people, if you can even be called such, I know that hasn't vanished from the face of Imythess.” Evals reached into her pocket and grabbed two things that might be useful for “gifts.” She pulled her hand out and clenched the two items tightly, as to not drop them or reveal them before she would need them. “Yet if you want gifts... I know an Elf that I wouldn't mind dead. Last time I saw him he punched a holy through my chest. Surely if I get my hands on him, once I'm through with him you can have him.” Evals said off handedly as she waved one of her hands dismissively, like such a task would be easy if she wanted to. |

Her bold defense seemed to indicate the opposite, yet even Yaksha truly was her master, what did it matter now that the fool was wiped off the face of Chaon and ushered into oblivion? Yet her reasoning for being here was quite strange. Boredom! She ran out of freinds because she was so busy stabbing them in the back and was now here? but wouldn't that meant their first meeting had been entirely planned. The poor little girl seemed to brain-addled to think like that. That matter relatively little, particularlly as Vernon was begining to find him self annoyed with the little babbling twit. Vernon growled as she mention gifts and slowly but surely Rafflesia began to rise out of Vernon's Back-pack. The large petals clearly became visble vines pulled the plant to the top of the bag. As the zombie droned on and the vines slowly snaked slowly snaked down Vernon's limbs. "So you offer me a gift that you have not even brought? Do you realize how foolish you sound? Do you at least have a good reason why I should not lick your bones clean of their flesh?" Vernon grinned as he worked is magic on the plants around her. Vines from every direction poised to strike as soon as her use ran out and at the present rate that would be in seconds. |

Evals shrugged her shoulders. "I was merely making a future offer out of courtesy. How was I suppose to know it was your birthday?" She mocked as she pondered a good reason as to why he shouldn't attempt to eat her. Well, what could Vernon want or see as a good reason? She noticed plants moving through her peripheral vision, even if she knew they were there dodging would be a bit difficult. The zombie hoped to avoid a fight, such would take effort. "Well lets see here. I'm sure you can find another corpse that won't put up a fight. Another thing, I have this little feeling that a moving corpse can carry diseases without being hindered by them. With how sociable I can be it could spread quite easily." She stated with a bit of reclusion. She hated referring to herself as a corpse, she was a person too. Just a living dead person. |

Birthday? What was the fool babbling about now? Stingy little brat wasn't forking up the goods. But then she said something that tickled Vernon's ears and made him pause even as he was just about to begin his assult. He did adore the spread of diseases, though did she know? More important than the question was how old she was and how msny outbreaks had there been in that span a time. The answer was not a notable amout. Interesting as her words were, they proved as useless as the rest of the nonsense that spewed from her mouth. It was about time he pust an end to that. "You offer intrigues me, but it is most regretable that you didn't bring anything more immediate. You should be more thoughtful when entering my marsh, but instead taking your undead liife I will settle for..," Vernon snickered as he tried to guess how much of a threat the little girl could possibly be. "A limb or two," Vernon cackled as the vines swiftly rushed in her direction. They would probably be strong enough to rip her limb frim limb, and act Vernon doubted would kill the creature. Perhaps the loss of a limb would teach the tasty little brat proper ettiquette. Of course there was the question of if Vernon could just stop at one. The little girl smelled simply delightful and with such treats one single bite quickly multiplied. If she decided to resist then he would just simply have to crush and probably take the entire body to satisfy his tastebuds. |

This looked like a productive discussion. Well not really because Evals didn't gain anything besides a way to waste some time. Just what was he going to settle for, then? She found out when the vines came to life again. He was a greedy bastard, wasn't he? She jumped backwards to dodge one of the vines that came too close. Before she even touched the ground though she disappeared with a word. Small traces of magic tingled in the air for a moment before vanishing as the vines moved past where she was. Evals appeared again behind Vernon on a thick tree branch. With a quick turn around, she was chanting short verses as she had her open palm extended towards Vernon. Within moments a fireball formed in her hand and then launched itself at Vernon. "How much does your fur burn, rat?" She mocked him, thinking that he probably knew she was there in the first place. |

She vanished before his gaze, but she made enough noise that it was easy to tell where she was. Vernon disliked such bothersome magic. It was bad enough his foe held immunity to all Vernon's favorite actions by virtue of being undead. At least the zombie only held the feeble frame of a little girl. Magic would only help her for so long. Vernon was assured of this as she swiftly began to weave more magic. She was too close and quick fro him to dodge out of the way approriately, but might be close enough for him to get a hold of if he could endure the spell. Vernon swiftly turned on the branch to face his advesary. He could see the fire gathering and knew there were only moments till it's completion. Vernon charged foward, sheilding his face with his arm. The armor of vines had now fully formed and help keep most of his fur out of the flames. Vernon hadn't gotten very far before getting hit with the blast of flame, but it didn't do much halt his foward momentum. The damage spell could have cause was greatly reduced. The fireball shrunk as it apporached Vernon thanks to Raffelesia steadily devouring the spell's energy and flames were weakend by the dampened vines around Vernon. The heat from the attack certainly still bruned, with any luck he catch hold of the zombie and show her what really pain was all about, if she felt pain at all. "Feeble magic," Vernon retorted as he neared his target. |

Well, she be damned. Not many people had the gall to jump right into a fireball, even if they were protected against most of it. She didn't have time to dodge, well not effectively. It would just leave her even more defenseless if she tried. Yet she had an idea, if it wasn't going to be anything more than a threat that was still useful to her. As he approached quickly she threw her hands over her head. Metal claws coming out of her fingers. The moment she was grabbed... Vernon's claws dug into her flesh as contact was made. Evals brought her hands down onto his shoulders and gripped them as hard as she could. That wasn't the point though, as a curse moved into Vernon. The Necrose Curse, he would die in a week, if she had to guess, and then become an Undead being. She laughed at him mockingly. "You're a dead rat walking, now." She said, not sure if he'd notice if he was cursed or not. Hopefully it worked and nothing went wrong, she wasn't too positive herself right now. Paranoia sinking in that it was futile. She would start to mentally prepare another spell, then. How it would be used was beyond her right now. OOC: Hope this was okay, if not I can edit it. |

They fell to the ground but neither of them seemed anyworse off from the fall, not even Evals cushioned Vernon's fall. Vernon wasn't surprised, undead ussually didn't feel pain in the same manner if at all. She stuck her claws in him and cackled about him being dead, but Vernon hardly saw her point. Her claws didn't hurt that much and she seemed more intend on causing pain than harm. Apparently her addled brain made her think this would kill them. Perhaps it was in her best interest that he licked her bones clean. Before he got that far he would at least take the minimal gift he required. While she laughed at him Vernon had brought his powerful jaws close to Evals' shoulder. Vernon chomped down hard, expected the bite to be forceful enough to remove her arm from her body. With the arm removed it would be conisderably easy to toss her aside like a rag doll, despite her grip. He wasn't quite as sure about what he would do next. Would he savor his tantalizing prize or would he beat her down so that she could claim all of her lovely rotting flesh. Vernon's tongue brought the answer swiflty. He would enjoy her well seasoned arm right in front of her. Mage though she was it was likely there was little she could do to stop him from enjoying his treat. If she tried to take back her gift by force then Vernon certainly wouldn't mind taking more from her and beating her into submission so he could enjoy her rot in peace. |

Evals rolled away from Vernon, now missing an arm. That was bothersome, that he actually obtained what he wanted. Bringing herself into a sitting position, she then leaned forward to get to her feet. "Now that that is done with..." The zombie was pondering if she should put in effort to get her arm back or anything. Replacements were aplenty, even if they weren't original... Wait. She did have "original" body parts to use. So nothing of value was lost here. Besides for that one thing.... "To be honest, that's disgusting. Can I have the gauntlet on my hand back, by any chance?" Vernon has a meal so hopefully that wasn't too much of an excessive request. If she didn't get that back then there might be further problem between them. Evals started to take steps towards a tree to sit down. If Vernon attempts to get it off it might not come off until he... devoured all of the flesh. Honestly, thinking about it wasn't that pleasant. |

Vernon turned to face the zomibe as he savored her arm. She was even more deliocus than she smelled. "To be honest, you're delicous. You should come visit me more often. What's the rush little girl? You've lived long enough already, I'm sure you can wait for me too finish," Vernon cackled while chewing her rotted flesh. Vernon didn't make good on the threat of licking her bones clean, but instead consumed those as well. Her arm brought such wonderous sensations right down to her marrow. "You came all this way to visit me, I'm sure you have something sure you didn't come all this way to give an arm and tell me you might bring some elf here," Vernon continued as he slowly made his way closer to the gauntlet. Every bite was worth savoring. Vernon wondered what to do with her now. She wasn't doing a very good job of being entertaining. Perhaps she would make her self useful before he finished snacking, then the answer of what to do with her would be more clear. Desrtoying her was oh so tempting, but she had practically given him her arm. Perhaps it was simply to diffuclt to make a descion while enjoying something so divine. |

Evals would've rolled her eyes if that was possible for her. Well she could but they wouldn't appear any different. "I hope you get indigestion." Was all she said while she waited for him to finish. Honestly, she turned away and watched the marsh' nature instead. She didn't want to see that, Vernon was such a disgusting being. How was she of all people delicious anyway? The zombie turned her attention back to the rat upon his question. Now he didn't believe the fact that she was just bored. Well, maybe it was more than that. Yet it didn't turn out too well for her in the end. "Everyone wants something out of their time. Everyone just wants to use each other." She said with a loose thought and a shrug, or an attempt at a shrug. "I suppose I was going to see if I could use you in some way to further my own goals." That was the most honest she could've been about it. |
