Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

"A parasite," Sebastian replied, quite calmly in spite of things. He watched the zombie before him for a moment, contemplating the situation. A part of the cultist had been fused with William. He had never read of necromancy like that occurring in any of his studies, but it seemed as if, by instinct, the necrotic magic had a desire, or even a need to stitch flesh together. The magic had a twisted, built-in mechanic for designing life more powerful than life. After all, without working anatomy, extra limbs, multiple heads, grafted body parts all became possible and advantageous.

"I can't remove it, but it shouldn't be too damaging if you can learn to control it. My magic can stunt it, can strengthen you and weaken the tumor, but you have to be the one to ultimately wrench control away from it."

Sebastian had plans, tests, studies he needed to conduct on William, but he had already granted him freedom. Certainly, he could wrench control away from Will again far more easily than the tumor could, be he wouldn't go against his own word.

"I can teach you to overcome the parasite, William, but you must agree to study with me. I will not force you to do anything against your will; you are free, but you can not be truly free of the parasite without my help." The necromancer extended his thin, pale hand to the former man, offering him a handshake, and help off of the floor.

It took a long moment for Will to decide. So much had just happened, and he could only think of a few things at a time. He knew only a few things were certain; he had died, he had been brought back, and now he had a magical parasite living on his back. All because of one man, if he was indeed a man. That man was now offering him the chance to rid himself of it, possibly for good; if not get rid of it, just stunt it. He sighed for the space of three long breaths- breaths he took by force of habit. He stood up to his full height, the usual glint returning to his eye though he was weary. He held out a thick and callused hand, and grasped the necromancer's. "Where do we start, friend?"

"Not today, I'm afraid. I have resting to do, and so do you. You will become accustomed to your new body before long, and when that happens, you'll know where to find me, like a bird knows to find his home after he's flown south for the winter," Sebastian explained. The magic ties between the two of them would give William a sort of innate compass that could direct him to his animator.

"I'll give you a little more of my magic, enough to keep your body strong enough to fend off the parasite until we meet again. If the growth gives you more grief, just imagine you're wrestling it out of your mind, and it should leave you alone." The necromancer nodded as he helped the zombie from the floor, gripping the weathered hand and pulling.

"Good luck, William Fisher. Until we meet again."
