Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Sebastian began to panic. He didn't think he had anything to combat the golem with. The edges of his swords would easily slide off of the construct's smooth glass body, and the swordsman realized that, for now, he would have to play defensively until he could find someway to ensnare or destroy the creature -- or get to Everto.

The golem's bladed arms were awhirl as they swung out at Sebastian, using them like curved swords, trying to hack the genasi into pieces. The smooth, shimmering glass reminded Sebastian of his own blades, and it gave him an idea. Masterfully, Sebastian's own blades twirled to meet the golem's every time, and though the golem had superior strength and size, Sebastian clearly possessed superior tact and agility. He knew that the titan would never be able to beat him in swordplay, so a defensive stance was best for the time being.

While Sebastian's swords danced before the pouding golem, he kept his own spell active, drilling into Everto's nervous system and forcing the impish half-demon to sweat uncontrollably. With time, the genasi wondered if perhaps his spell would be able to loosen the fiend's control over his own golem. Then he felt it.

A wave of heat began to form around Sebastian; it was unbearable. It reminded him of fire, and he knew what was coming. He could identify the spell by the sensation, adn he realized that Everto had been casting Ignite the entire time.

Suddenly, without any warning to the golem, Sebastian dove away from its swinging, scythe arms. The cold mist convened around him and beads of ice cold water rolled down his skin. He closed his eyes and kept focused on draining Everto of all the water in his body as he kept far away from the pursuing golem.

He let the spell go off, he looked as his foe set on fire, he smirked, the man's concentration was broken, the dehydration spell had ended. He smirked and he breathed heavily, his sweat freezing to his body, this wasn't comfortable at all, he just needed to get one more spell off to finish this foe off, something dangerous to even himself. He ran as fast as he could, making sure get Glaiser in between him and Sebastian.

Glaiser kept up his assault, even though the icy mist was slowing his movements, whenever Sebastian hit him shards of glass littered ground, inhibiting his movements. Glaiser kept up his assault, he knew what was going to happen next, Everto had done it several times before, he had survived it every time and didn't plan on dying this time either. Now all he had to do was wait for Everto's strategy and it's explosive end

Everto started a chant, not wanting to expend extra energy trying to silently cast it, "My boiling demon blood, give me the power over my birthright." He concentrated on gathering the heat of the spell to his hand, this spell would end this fight, one way or another.

((OOC:Used Ignite, preparing a fireball, used actual chanting to relieve the strain of spellcasting so he could actually cast with all the frozen sweat clinging to him.))

As Everto's spell was prepared to be unleashed, Sebastian felt the heat at its highest point, and he could tell that it was about to be unleashed. As the spell hit him, Sebastian threw himself directly at Glaiser, essentially making himself a living bomb. He landed between the golem's legs, out of the reach of its sickle-arms, and the fire produced by the tiny demon's spell exploded outward, lighting Sebastian's clothes and sending a wave of heat and fire damage outwards, directly at the golem's unprotected underside. The swordsman was unsure if his tactic would work, but it didn't matter now.

He continued to roll forward, away from the golem and out the back of it, through its legs. Despite the terrible discomfort he experienced from the spell, he sustained rather minor damage given his weakness to fire. The cold mist hand dampened the spell considerably, making fire damage far less effective than usual. As well as this, Sebastian's enchanted leather armor offered him considerable protection from flames, both magical and mundane. On top of this, Sebastian's gauntlets, which were fixed with a magical piece of coal, had absorbed a small amount of the elemental damage, exactly what Sebastian had hoped for. His landing, a sommersault, has smothered the flames on his now tatterered, charred clothing. His outfit was a mess, but his skin was not burnt.

Sebastian stood, and realized suddenly that it was difficult to do so. He was covered from head to toe in tiny shavings of glass and found that every movement he made put strain on his body. On top of this, the icy mist he had conjured with his spell had been extinguished completely by Everto's previous spell, and the air had returned to its normal climate.

Though Sebastian's movements were clumsy and slow, he turned to face Glaiser's backside and barked a syllable of command. Immediately, his leather gauntlets were sheathed in solid steel, and he delivered two punches, a right and a left, to the back of the golem's head, neck, and shoulders. With any luck, these blows, being blunt attacks rather than blades, would be able to damage the resilent golem's glass skin. On top of this, if successful, his punches would also redirect the elemental fire attack to the golem, and Sebastian had a hunch that fire magic would be rather effective against a monster made of glass.

His eyes widened, Sebastian must have something to dampen fire magic, blast. He saw him dive under the legs, burning his precious golem and start punching it with his, now, metal gauntlets... the man was full of surprises. Once more he ran around to the side, he needed to concentrate so only a small jog would be all he could do, he felt the heat of his spell coming to his finger tips, "Demons of hellfire, elements of flame, give me your power, Flame of Andulin!" He felt the fireball form in his hand, he simply thought 'Sorry Glaiser', and threw the fireball.

Glaiser knew it wouldn't be long, he saw his little master run to the side, good enough. The fireball shot forth, he turned around, placing his arm out, he felt the heat of the fireball scorch his hand, the small explosion as it hit shatter his arm, sending the shards towards Sebastian. He now only had one arm and the cracks in his back were much to large, he would die at this rate, though he trusted his master, he always saved him over himself, such a good master.

Everto grimaced, he could see the large cracks all over his body... it was time to stop him from dying, he simply dismissed his summon with a wave of his hand, "Go back home Glaiser, your work here is done." He saw Glaiser sink into the ground, disappearing back to his home world, good... he would live for another summoning. He looked at Sebastian, "I'm stopping this fight now, we've used a lot of magic and both of us have sustained significant damage, now either retreat or let me leave peacefully, only both of us dying will have this duel ending." He turned and started to walk off, he was tired, cold, and wanted to bathe in the sun, though away from the psychotic half-elemental. He chose not to walk fast, he was to tired for that.

((OOC:Dismissed Golem and used it's own weakness and fragility as a weapon.))
