| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Vyse grunted and roared as he charged through the lands on Umbriel, he had just dealt with a small group of foes, assassins from his father, but he didn't care, anyone in his way would be killed. His Bloodwrath was still going, making him move faster, fight endlessly, kill or be killed, he had lost count of how many people and animals he'd killed. He felt his vision clearing, the red slowly fading from his vision... he slumped in Umbriel's saddle as she came to a stop, laying down on her belly near the edge of the water, letting Vyse fall off her back. She quickly stands back up, wandering a bit into the water before drinking from it. Vyse himself started to sit up, his muscles were sore, he was finally back in control... but he wondered where he was, he remembered fighting a dire bear golem... then nothing, just rage and his bloodwrath. He didn't remember hurting Rin... he remembered flashes, bits and pieces... in no way were they related to hurting Rin, he sighed with relief, she was probably alive. He looked at his coat... coated in dried blood, he'd need to wash it. His pants were even more torn up then they already were, he'd have to buy new pants next time he was in Cascadia. Though first things first, he needed to clean the blood off his person, he quickly took off his coat and tossed it aside, his vest easily came off, it to was unfortunately stained with blood, next he tossed aside his sword belt and blades, both somehow immaculate. Tossing it into the pile with his jacket and walked into the water, he waded in waist deep started to scrub with his hands at the dried blood, watching it flake off into the water, down stream away from him. He swam a bit after scrubbing the blood off to, drinking deeply of the water, it tasted amazing it was like he hadn't drank much water at all in days. He swam back to shore, he noticed Umbriel laying down, relaxing in the sun, he to decided he needed rest, walking up to Umbriel, he laid his head on her stomach, looking up into the sky. |

The cool water was odd to move through. AD had never been a strong swimmer, which was why she had invested the time and energy in learning the spell underwater breath. She had been planning on further investigating the cave under the falls, but decided it would be best to wait until it was dark. She had an advantage in the dark after all. She had found a few favorable signs under the falls, though it was hard to see with all the bubbles and grit from the current. She moved further away and found some scraps of metal and pat of a rusted blade. She left them be for now. Her spell was running out and she still had to let herself dry before the sun set. Surfacing, she took a gulp of air and pushed her hair back from her face. Rubbing water out of her eyes, she looked about to reorientate herself to the shore. She saw a figure not far from where she had stashed her tings in the hollow of a tree. She had been about to curse her bad luck and dive back under water to try and move further away and sneak around when she realized she recognized the person. The odd thing was, this was the second time she had met him by water. She shrugged and started for shore because treading water was tiring. She made sure to angle herself towards her things and not directly towards Vyse. At least not until she was close enough to call out to him. |

Vyse looked at Umbriel, she had a rope tied around her side with a few bags tied to it, when did he do that? He tried to remember the last set of Black Out days, he remembered salvaging food maybe, or was it trophies... either way, he got up, gathered up his things and walked back to Umbriel's side, untying the rope quickly. He dug through the small packs, revealing a small cache of bread, jerky, and a good hunk of cheese. He quickly ate most of the jerky and cheese, afterward he slowly started to eat the bread, he relaxed once more, searching through the second pouch, it was heavy, heavier then his own bag filled with bread, cheese, and jerky. He tipped it over, watching meat spill out, venison, pork, and others he didn't recognize. He pushed them towards Umbriel, she quickly snatched them up and started eating, he guessed they both hadn't eaten for a while. Vyse closed his eyes, he felt perfectly content relaxing with his pet. He might take a nap soon, Umbriel would be chewing away for a while. He sighed, it was the perfect day to relax after his black out days... he'd worry about them when he was better rested. |

((OOC: why didn't the kitty see AD? Is she just a big fishy? ))Aether Draka stopped a moment to tread water, and realized it was silly to swim like this when she was so slow. She could walk faster, so that was what she decided to do. She focused on and brushed her fingers across the tattoo on the back of her ear. The spell activated immediately and she felt like she weighed nothing at all. She pulled herself above the water, squeezed the excess water from her hair, which was not actually in braids at the moment, and took a deep breath. She was dressed in what more or less was considers a swimwear. They were leather shorts that ended right above the knee and were laced up both sides to make them snug. Her top was made of cotton though. It was green and done in a gypsy style, with ties in the back and ones that tied behind her neck. She had a belt around her waist that held a pouch with a few magical trinkets she wished to study more. Around her neck was a silver chain with a ring on it. At her wrist was a silver bracelet with a pure black stone set in it. She had gotten rid of all her other jewelry. She had a warmer shirt and an over-skirt on the shore, along with her main bag of stuff. However, with the sun still out, she wasn't too concerned with it at the moment. She instead used her levitate spell to walk a few inches over the water. She rose her hand and called out to Vyse. "Hail! Didn't expect to see anyone here!" She kept her walk even as she approached, not wanting to startle him more then necessarily. She still didn't quite understand what he had been talking about the last time they had meet. She did however decide that he was not one of the ignorant fools who didn't find out what was going on before accusing people and trying to kill those that were deemed in the wrong. Because of that, she liked him. |

((OOC: Umbriel isn't on guard, if she hears water splashing she would just think it was a fish, since you're mostly submerged in water she can't really smell you)) Umbriel's head perked up as Vyse sat up, looking at an old friend, he smiled and called out, "It's good to see you again AD, what brings you to... actually where exactly are we?" It was just like the last time they met, Vyse had come to a strange place by the water, lost. He smirked, "You know we should probably stop meeting every time I get lost near water, it'd be fun to just go drinking or something." He stroked Umbriel's head slowly, new people made her a bit anxious if Vyse wasn't friendly towards them. "Come to shore AD, we can catch up and I can introduce you to my partner here," the dire Tigress sits up, looking at AD from the shore, her mouth slightly open, showing her massive fangs and teeth. "You don't have to be afraid of her, she's all purr and no bite if I'm not fighting," It was a half truth, she sometimes just flat out didn't like people, but since Umbriel wasn't growling or purring, he couldn't really tell how she felt about AD, oh well, he'd find out when she got to shore. |

She laughed at his question, mostly because she saw the irony in it. She wouldn't mind going to town or the like and seeing him there instead of oout here. "This is Richimon Lake. About a full day's travel from Cascadia." She did accept his suggestion to come to shore, as she was heading that way one way or the other anyways. She came over solid ground and let her levitation spell drop, stepping down the few inches to the earth. She came over and offered her hand for the big cat to smell. "A friend of mine I have not seen in a long time had a large cat like yours. She was solid black and all muscle. I haven't seen him since we killed a bunch of zombies in some ruins." Eliel had always been a good friend, but really had nothing to do with with her guild or with demons at all. They mostly shared an interest in magic. She really wasn't sure what she had in common with Vyse beyond the fact he didn't make her want to knock him on his butt. "So have you had something to earn a few coin or are you just wandering about?" She straightened and tucked some of her damp hair behind her ear and away from her face. |

"I dunno... I was out cold for... probably around a week, I had a Black Out episode," He wanted to stop there, but he knew AD was curious by nature, she'd probably ask eventually what a Black Out is. He smiled as he saw Umbriel lick her hand, then quickly lick her face in response, purring deeply, "She likes you, Umbriel is pretty good at deciding friend from foe. Also a Black Out for me is when I go into my bloodwrath state and berserk... for days to weeks on end, so I was out cold from Debon Plains to Richimon, I must have moved pretty fast, though I guess I was riding Umbriel as I went." He stroked his pet's soft fur, she was always be his side and always watching him, like a mother looking after her cub. He looked at AD, smiling wide, "So how have you been AD, it's been a few months since we last saw each other, tell me everything that's happened since we last met and in return I'll tell you of some of the things I've done with my time." He really liked talking to AD, she seemed so interested in him without being afraid that he might explode into an endless rage and slaughter anyone within blade's reach, he felt relaxed, ready to listen to his friend's journeys and studies since he last saw her, maybe she found something that could help him control his bloodwrath, probably not, but it was worth hoping for. |

AD giggled when her face got licked and she wiped it off with the back on her hand, though as she was already damp, it was more of an instinctual response then a logical one. She sat down cross legged on the ground and ran her fingers through her hair, dividing the tick locks while they were still damp so she could braid them into her normal small braids. She did this while talking, not even able to really see what she was doing. However, she had done it for so long and so frequently (as she hated when they tried to turn into dreadlocks on her) she did it efficiently and bu feel. "It's probably not too interesting to you actually. I've mostly been doing research. I discovered there was some sort of dark creature who let loose a demon that had been imprisoned in that monument I last saw you by. I think that the same magic may have been used in Taras when the city was burned to the ground. I've been thinking of going back there and trying to see if I can identify the source, but I'm worried too much time has passed. The use of demons both times makes me wonder if the being is demonic in nature or is just familiar with them. I was looking around for some other traces of magic. about Imythess to see if I can find the same thing anywhere else." She didn't mention the fact that she wanted to go after the creature for using the Divshatten for it's own means. The guild wanted to capture the city, not see it destroyed. She had been livid. |

"Ah... that would be nice to know, if you find out anything about it I'd like to know, but speaking of Taras... I was there about a month ago, an entire guard group were poisoning the water supply and trying to turn all of the refugees into zombies... I was lucky me and my friend, Peacemaker, were able to handle it so fast, I was grateful for his wisdom and guidance, but even more so for the fact that he helped me save so many people... we killed every last guard we came across, I left the evidence of their betrayal behind and let the remaining guard squads to clean up the mess, even burned a few crates of zombie pills to boot." He felt a bit rude of interrupting her, but if she was going to visit Taras she should at least know what its current situation was. He looked out towards the lake for a few moments, it was a great sight, he smiled as he turned back to AD, "So you haven't found anything about this creature or its possible objectives... well don't worry AD, if anyone can do it I'm sure you can, from what I've seen and heard from you, you're a great magic-user and a diligent scholar, it's only a matter of time before you find your target and when you do, and if I'm still around, don't be afraid to ask me for help, it'd be interesting to see what exactly you do." He gave her a reassuring smile, he knew he'd probably be long gone by the time she found any trace, but he did mean that he wanted to help her, it was just the kind of guy he was. |

"Oh, I don't plan on going back to Taras anytime soon. I had to try to get out of the Library while the place was on fire. Let me tell you, that is not fun." She shook her head, stopping it awkwardly so as to not yank the hair she was braiding out of her hand and let out a sigh. "Actually, there is a friend of mine, goes by Melmoth, who once was turned into a zombie. Lucky for him is was a spell and could be removed. I don't think he remembers it, but I got him to come to the Academy of Magic with me by him following me and trying to kill me. I don't suggest it to anyone actually. To cure him I ended up learning both the spell and it's opposite. I don't know if the old book is still around or if there are any copies. I just hope few others know the spell. Undead are not the best people to work with." "Perhaps. Who is this Peacemaker? The name sounds familiar." If it was one thing she could not stand more then the ignorant (fools who jumped to conclusions without any idea what was really going on, aka most of the population) was mindless rotting corpses. Especially when they followed you. In fact, the only thing that smelled worse was Varnon. Actually, she should probably go see him. She had something she wished to discuss with him... ((OOC: would you like to move to a tavern or the like?AD can do that in like 2 sec. )

((OOC: Fine by me)) Vyse chuckled, "He's an interesting person, he's a half-elf ranger, he apparently used to be a big time hero in the past, he helped me as I was just starting out wandering with Umbriel. He was quick and strong, though he preferred to think situations through more then I did, my bloodwrath makes it hard to keep calm sometimes, especially when it comes to zombie pills and blood, that stuff just makes me get hot under the collar forcing me to go mad for a bit, killing the cause of the bloodwrath, along with any others in my way, I need to find something to help keep it under control." He stared back up at the sky, maybe it was time to slow down, take a short break from hunting his father so avidly. He looked back at AD, "You know of any place I could just relax at for a while, something tells me I'm going to need time to recuperate from my Black Out." He put his vest and coat back on, they were old and damaged, but would still service his needs until he gets them repaired in Cascadia. |

((OOC: I didn't feel like moving the topic, so I am just putting it here...)) AD didn't know about controlling something she didn't really understand, however, she could do something about their location. It wasn't like she couldn't come back here. "Well we can go some where else." AD said and stood. She went over to the tree that she had stashed her things. She retrieved them and put her bag on her belt with the other small waxed leather one. She came back over to Vyse and held out her hand. "Here, take my hand." If Vyse was not touching Umbriel, AD would and she would cast the spell orb of darkness around them as to allow her to shadow jump with them. They would appear in an alleyway just across the street from the Broken Strings Inn high up in Cascadia. She liked the city and had a good rapport with the innkeeper. She would then let go of Vyse's hand and motion for him to follow her as she made her way through the evening traffic in the street. |

He touched Umbriel, keeping a hand on her massive paw, he felt something, a cold rush as they appeared in Cascadia, AD must have had some spell or ability that let her jump through darkness. He looked around, they were close to the Broken Strings, the place had decent ale, though it wasn't what he was looking for, "I know of a small tavern, it's a few streets away and not nearly as crowded as the Broken Strings, it also has better ale." He wasn't sure if AD was willing to go to the small tavern run by his friend, though he did want to have that Black Water ale. He reoriented himself on the streets, he knew the tavern was down three streets, and then take a right into an alley, it was small but he liked it, he got his news about crime there to from the barkeeper, though the barkeep got the information at night, he only sold it during the day, when the people are gone, allowing him to speak freely. He smiled as he felt Umbriel nuzzle his back, she was getting impatient. |

AD shrugged at Vyse's comment about another location. She didn't really have any major plans and she had to wait a bit longer for the sun to go down before she could try and find out why the waterfall had glowing crystals and if they would be of any use to her. Even though she favored the Broken Strings Inn she normally only used it at night to avoid the guards citing her for suspicious behavior. She was also normally better dressed when she went there. It wasn't that she never wore open back tops or pants that were skin tight, she just normally didn't wear what she saw as functional, stay out of my way clothing to places she didn't need to work or fight in. There was a pure black flame styled tattoo running the length of her spine and a pair of small angel-styled wings on her back, both of which were manifestations of her demonic and angelic sides. But she was also unaware that they were there. She only knew of two tattoos. The fine white rose on her collarbone which could cast bless at will and the small one she had done behind her left ear in order to cast levitate. After all, it's often that one gets a chance to see their own back. "Sure, why not." AD said and went with him. She didn't mind discovering new places. |

Vyse smiled as he lead her down the streets and into the side alley, Umbriel had to stay outside, she couldn't fit through the door. He looked around the tavern quickly, it was empty except for the man with short grey hair, clean shaven to, at the bar, cleaning some mugs as he watched Vyse and AD come in. Vyse walked up to the bar and sat down, "Hey Brenk, it's good to see you again, this is my friend, just call her AD." Brenk nodded and started to pour two mugs of his Black Water Ale, to most people it just looked like a nasty slurry of black gunk. Though to those who have had it, the Black Water was accepted and well loved, Vyse himself drank his mug rather quickly, smiling all the way. Brenk nodded to AD, "Good to see Vyse with another friend... the last time you were here you brought... Soko, any word from her at all Vyse?" Brenk was a curious man, his information broker days would never end for as long as he had ale and his customers loose tongues. Vyse shook his head, "I haven't seen her for a while, haven't seen a lot of my old friends for a while, though I did meet up with AD just recently, she got us to the city so I decided to bring her to the best tavern in Cascadia." They both laughed, this was far fromt he best, the tables and chairs looked like they hadn't been replaced in twenty years, the bar stools creaked and some were missing parts of the legs, while the bar itself was polished and bright with the stains of different kinds of drinks. What it didn't have in looks it had in flavor, the ales, wines, and custom brews were amazing and unrivaled in Cascadia. Edited by Vyse, Wed Jul 13, 2011 3:05 am.
