| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

The shadows in a dark corner of Balefire seemed to ripple, and Slade stepped out, shaking his head as he took a long look around. It had been a while since he'd been on Imythess, having spent the last while of his life wandering the Abyss looking for evidence of his ancestress's demise. Of course, matters had been complicated when he'd been found by her consort, and had to fight that one off as well. It had been a tough fight, and he'd nearly died in the process, much like when he had fought her. But he had managed it, managed to heal up from it, and was now working on getting things figured out here on Imythess. He'd found no traces of his old Guild when he had gone back to find the guild hall, all evidence that it had ever existed wiped from the face of the earth. He still had the coin, which was now flipping over and over in his hand. He'd been completely unable to find Fara or any of the other members, but it was entirely possible that all of them had gone into hiding. It wouldn't have surprised him, especially given what was going on when he had disappeared. Sighing, he started down the street, his free hand reaching back to grip the staff across his back for a moment, feeling the reassuring weight, hand trailing over the fetishes hanging from it. |

There was a reason why Chris never liked this town, it was dark and very creepy. People that lived here was either evil or drunk, most likely many in a mix of the two! Everything dark and mean that parents talked about to scare the kids was in this town, or well that was what the young weretiger belived and it showed as his ears remained flatt against his head when he walked down the streets, the bright eyes scanning around. Chris had gone though a serious spurt in height and he was much taller now then he had been before, not that he really noticed with all his training. In all he was on the way to become a young man, no longer a small little boy. Chris came to a halt when he noticed a familiar scent in the air, he took in the scent and...yes he knew that one from before! Unlike the weird scent with Fara're, this one was not that different...he knew it. "..." He slowly looked up and down the street, searching for the person he knew he was going to find. But then again...why would he want to find him? The guy had just like Fara're left him without a word. Not like any of them seemed to care and his own mommy did not even remember who he was anymore. |

Slade sighed as he continued to walk, reminded of why he had joined the Moon Child. It had been because of cities like Balefire, where evil ran rampant, and even the weres were evil and despicable. But now the guild was gone... at least for now. He paused, though, and his brow furrowed, his nose seeming to twitch of its own accord. "I know that smell," he muttered, his head turning as he stopped walking, turning in place as he looked around, his chin lifted as his nose tested the air. "That's... Chris... I know you're here somewhere," he muttered, and moved down the street, following the trail of scent toward its source. When he finally came into view, he stopped stock still. Had he been gone that long? How many years had it been here in the world? He had only been in the abyss a few months, but he knew time was different in that hell than it was here in the real world. He sighed, and shook his head for a moment, before stepping forward toward the other. "Chris? Is that you?" he said. Even his voice had changed somewhat in his time away. Deeper, richer, more like a demon's than it had been. But his eyes were the same. Full of pain and sadness, they hinted at things seen beyond Slade's apparent years. |

Slade found Chris before the boy could notice him, so his eyes quickly found the source of the voice that said his name out loud. The forest green gaze stopped at the man, he did not move and just stood in silence and looked at him. The young weretigers face was confused, a little lost...but also angry. Well not the face, but the look in his eyes was angry. "Yes..." He replied to the question, he walked a little closer and watched the man that he almost had been calling dad, but he had left and in so used up the right to be called such a thing by the little boy Chris once was. Now he was a teenager, taller and going from his body he was well trained, slightly burned and tanned from hours in the burning sun around the vulcano with his master. "You....traitor!" without even a hint of hesitation he punched Slade right in the stomach with all the strenght he could muster at this point, yeah and going from the strenght the boy had done some serious training. He showed his teeth in an angry felinelike grin. "Where have you been! How could you just leave me and mommy like that!? and now I find you here of all places!?" |

Slade didn't even move when Chris slammed him in the gut, letting out a gasp of air for a moment. He sighed, shaking his head. "I'm not even going to try and make excuses. I went looking to make sure my ancestress was dead. Got captured by her consort, and barely managed to kill him and get away. Time passes differently in the Abyss, and I had completely forgotten it." He sighed, shaking his head as he took a few steps back. "I didn't want to leave, I really didn't. But by not making sure she was dead and couldn't come back, you and Fara were in grave danger." He crossed his arms over his chest, and looked up at the sky, his eyes locking on the moon. "That's no excuse for not saying something when I left, I know. But..." He shook his head, and looked back at the young weretiger. "I'm not even going to ask you to forgive me, as that would be too much to ask. But I will ask... have you seen Fara at all? I HAVE to see her. I've heard some... some rather disconcerting things in my time in the abyss, things I don't like the sound of. I HAVE to check on her." |

Chris did not want to listen and he did not care at all! Slade could make up whatever excuse he wanted if that helped him feel better, it did not help what he did...what they both did when they just left him behind. The young weretiger turned around and closed his eyes, he opened them soon after and shook his head. "Like that would have mattered. We would have made it...we could have made it anyway, you should have told us...told me." he turned back and looked Slade in the eyes. "You seem to know so much from your time in the abyss...then maybe you can tell me where she have been?! Mommy dissappeared right after you, you both left me. I tried to find you but there was no one left, I knew nothing. You do not deserve to see mommy. So if you know so much, tell me why she..." he could not take Slade to his mother now and neither could he tell him what had happened, not with her being like she was. Not that he imagined she would know who he was anyway. The weretiger teen turned away once more and did his best to keep himself calm, a small trail of black smoke appeared from his closed fist. "You do not HAVE to check on anyone at all." Chris shook his head. "But yes I have seen her and I'm taking care of mommy...now that she have lost all her memories. She do not even know...who I am anymore...so is that the answer you where looking for? do you have some kind of answer to that? Why is my own mommy not able to remember me?" |

Slade sighed. "Dammit. Still haven't gotten any better at the explanations than I was," he said, shaking his head, pressing a hand to his forehead. "I really should have worked on that, to be honest," he muttered with a rueful grin. "Look, ki... No, you aren't a kid anymore. Look Chris. All I'd heard was that someone had caught a weretiger, and was keeping them in the abyss. I was worried that it was Fara, but I could never find any leads. So that's the entire reason I came back here. I'm GOING to find her, whether you help me or not." He shook his head, and straightened. "I swore an oath all those months... years... All that time ago. And it STILL holds true, Chris, whether you want it to or not," he said, his voice soft and quiet. "And when I find her, I'll help her remember everything she's forgotten. EVERYTHING." He shook his head. "No matter how long it takes. I loved her, Chris. I still do. You probably didn't understand then, but you might now. Please, help me set things right." |

He did not know what to say, he just stood there in silence and listened to the words with his feline ears flatt against the head, from time to time they twitched softly. He took a deep breath of air and then he nodded and when he talked his voice was low. "I know you love her..." he paused. "....tell me something...did the though ever cross you that the weretiger could have been me?" the young teen turned around and looked towards Slade, his eyes was serious. "I understand and did before to, I know what love if. But your not understanding...you did not just leave Fara're behind. Do you have any idea how many hours...days...weeks I searched every inch of the forest to find you? Just a small scent...anything at all. You...." He swallowed and did his best to remain calm, keep back the tears he felt was trying to break out again. "I lost my parents for the second time...and now you...I just do not know what to do and it hurts...yet you did not even ask how I had been. It was you and her that made this to me...so why would I help any of you with anything?!" he could feel his eyes heat up from the years, a mix of anger and sadness in the same emotion, he did not remember when he was this confused...not even when he found out Fara're had returned without any memories of who he was. |

He sighed softly. To be honest, he expected this to be the reaction if he ran into any of his old friends. He had hoped it wouldn't be so, but he had expected the worst. Shaking his head, he crossed his arms. "I don't expect you to ever forgive me, Chris. But I would hope you can give me another chance, let me try again. If I can find Fara, I'm going to try and help her remember what she's forgotten." He shook his head. "It's going to be rough, and if she remembers me vanishing, I'm going to be in serious trouble... But I have to try. I swore that oath, and it still holds. If I can find out who did whatever to her, I'm going to kill them. They'll rue the day they ever SAW her." |

Did he even listen to what Chris said? The weretiger looked at the man and he did not belive what he heard him say. He actually did not know how to react or what he was going to say, he just stood with the tears frozen in his eyes...it was like time had stopped in that given moment. "...dad...did you hear what I said?" he suddenly commented slowly, that single word pierced....dad pieces though the air like a spear, the tone of the voice was surpisingly soft, seeing how angry Chris had been moments earlier. "I asked you....did the though that the weretiger lost in the abyss could have been me ever cross your mind" the boy made sure to put force behind each word he spoke now, just to point out the question. |

Slade froze, his mind grinding to a halt. "Oh, hell. I'm sorry, Chris." He shook his head, letting out a deep breath. "I hadn't thought about that, no. I know you, and you had places to hide that you could get to at a moment's notice," he said softly. "I'm sorry. I didn't know WHO to think it might have been. Hell, for all I knew, the rumors might have just been about MYSELF." He rested a hand on Chris's shoulder, looking into his face with a bit of pride in his eyes. "Okay. I need a few answers first. Have you been keeping in touch with the other felines in Norwood?" he said, his face going serious. Chris would remember the look, as it would be one that Fara had always had when on guild business, or business in general. "Also, I need to know where the rest of Moon Child is. The more eyes we have looking for Fara, the sooner we can find her, and I can start trying to find answers as to what happened to her." He smiled. "And I'm going to need your help, Chris." He pulled the small coin from his pouch, rubbing his thumb over it. "I know that if those coins are active, they'll know what's going on and come running if they have them. But we're going to have to be careful. From the looks of things, the keep was totaled. So there's no telling if some of these coins have gotten into the wrong hands." |

Like sorry was going to cut it?! Did he just think that a sorry would be enough to make everything better then it was now. But the boy did not speak and just listened to what the man said, he bit his lip a little and this revealed his feline like teeth..the ears twitched on his head a few times. "Sorry is not enough, you still remember me...mommy does not so I can not blame her for not understanding. But you...." he pause and shook his head. "I thought I was never going to see you again....that you left me because I had done something wrong." Chris avoided to look Slade into the eyes when he talked about the guild and how he asked his question about the other felines in the forest. "The guild was destroyed after you and mom left, someone attacked the guild and destroyed everything. You where not there....I tried to find a way to get it back, but what could I do alone? It's just me and Kaess left now. I'm living with him" he made a pause to let his own words sink in before he continued to talk. "I have lost all contact with the others, not sure how many is even alive in the guild. I was never a member because mommy...never wanted me to join in the first place. So tell me Slade, why should I help either of you? Give me a reason why I should let you in again and risk for you to run off without a word." |

Slade sighed in exasperation. "Look, Chris. I can't explain away all the things I've done, all the times I've vanished. I can't even guarantee that I won't do it again. But I can tell you this much. You just called me dad. Before events turned against us like they did, I was going to be talking to you about that. But events turned the way they did, and I never got the chance to." He shook his head. "I'm not going to make excuses for myself, but I will say this. You are the son I never had, the son I was SUPPOSED to have with my first love. But she died. I WILL NOT allow such a thing to happen to my family again," he said, his eyes dark with suppressed rage. "I don't expect you to trust me again, but I do ask you to. Give me another chance, Chris. Trust me once more like you used to. I know I'm asking for a lot from you, given my history. But it's time for me to leave the shadows behind, and show the world that even though blood is strong... Love and concern are stronger still." He held out his hand. "Please, Chris. I need your help to set things right." |

Chris looked at the hand that was offered to him, he moved the gaze to Slade's face and tried to read his visage. It was hard for him to act now as he did not know what to do, the thoughts was flying around along with mixed emotions. A part of him wanted to kick this guy in the groin...and another part wanted to be little boy that normally would have thrown himself onto the man's back or played games with him by the lake. He actually missed those days. "The day you dissappeared...I had planned to call you dad, surprise you by calling you that. I thought you wanted to know. I picked berries for you and mom and planned to catch fish and surprise you both, but...well you never returned to the cave either of you." He took a deep breath and then he nodded. "I will....trust you, but if you break my trust one more time I will never ever forgive you. I'm tired of being betrayed by the people I love...no more." the weretiger reached out and accepted the hand, he looked Slade into the eyes. He had a sudden urge to...well hug the man and so he did. He hugged Slade. "I missed you...I have still been to our tree many times and each time I hope you where going to be there." he commented lowly, then he let go and stepped away from the man. "I'm 15...yeah I'm 15 years old now, and I'm a burning fist...uhm...I have a girlfriend, kinda...she is a fairy..." |

Slade was taken slightly aback when Chris hugged him, but returned the hug. "Things came up that day. I had hoped to avoid you and Fara being dragged into it, but it seems like that's exactly what happened." He shook his head, pushing Chris away from him a few inches to look the young were over. "I have to say, you certainly sprouted a bit while I was gone. I can't believe I missed so much," he said, shaking his head. He smiled. "That's interesting. I never would have pegged you as a hothead," he said with a playful grin. "I'd definitely like to meet this fairy kinda-girlfriend of yours at some point, once this is all settled back down. Don't worry, I promise I won't try to scare her off," he said with a chuckle. "But as I said, right now, we need to find the others. You said Khaess was still around?" |
