| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Shalia shrugged at his question. "I do not know what goes on in the mind of that half-dragon," she said. "He likes to help the 'less fortunent' and keeps dragging me along with him. I care not for his morals or his values. Once I learn what I want from him, I shall leave him and pray I never see the fool again." She was not really a member of the Burning Fist, or at least she did not feel she was. She just wanted to obtain the power that Kaess could give her and then forget all about him. Once she finished her training she planned to never step foot in the halls of the Burning Fist again. |

Logan could not help but chuckle at this woman's seeming fury toward this man she was following into the mountains. This Shalia seemed to have a bit of a burning hatred within her, toward whom exactly he couldn't pinpoint. With some prying and good conversation, he would probably learn, but it probably wouldn't come out this soon. "Quite ambitious, you are," Logan remarked thoughtfully, his gaze now transfixed upon Shalia's face, giving her a good view of his glowing eyes, "But then again you seemed to be that sort of woman when I saw you. Quite fortuitous that you decided to strike up a conversation with me. I didn't think you would take an interest in a humble ranger such as myself." |

She shrugged at his comment about her being ambitious. "If one does not push themselves, they shall never obtain anything," she said. "A humble ranger?" she said with a raised brow. "I know when there is more to someone or something than meets the eye. You are no mere 'humble ranger.' I spoke with you because your eyes were upon me. And I do not like being watched." She grew silent again and looked into the flames once more. (sorry for short post, could not think of anything else...) |

"A pity you dislike being watched," retorted Logan, chuckling at her remarks about him being no mere ranger, "because I enjoy watching. Especially when someone such as yourself wanders into my vicinity. Ones like you do tend to draw suspicion." Logan smiled as she looked into the fire and said no more afterward. Logan's gaze followed her own before he elected to continue the conversation. "Perhaps I am no mere ranger," Logan spoke, "I try not to tweak the suspicions of those who wouldn't appreciate a ranger being in their presence. What, may I ask, made you realize I wasn't such?" |

“I think I am far from the only one who draws suspicous glances while in a place like this,” she said. “And those who find me suspicous should also be wise enough not to anger me. As for why I think you are more than you seem…are we not all like that in some way? I am no mere woman traveling through the forest. And the way you look around with those eyes of yours tells me that you think out everything you do before you do. And that you are keeping a watch on everything here that goes on.” The teifling was quickly growing tired of the conversation. Perhaps it would be best if she left this place soon. She certinally did not want to rest here. She did not trust the occupants of this place in the least. And she was not about to sleep in the middle of a place surrounded by folks she felt would kill her the moment she let her guard down. She took the last few bites of the food she had pulled out for herself before placing everything back in her pack. Without saying another word to the ranger she lifted her back and began to stand as if she was leaving once again. |

"It is merely born of necessity that I make sure anything of note is before my gaze. I spent sometime traveling on the road when I was younger," Logan replied, noting Shalia's earlier comments, "Now that I've been driven from my home, well..." The ranger tugged on the sides of his longcoat, clearly showing he was a bit uncomfortable. "It's been weird doing all this again, wandering I mean," the ranger mused as he, too, began to rise from his seat, "There was always a certain solace I could find on the open road. The scents of the wilderness wafting through my nose. Quite a feeling, it is, to be free and clear to do whatever you want outside the confines of society. You must know this, good Shalia, to be true." Logan dusted himself off before fastening Thrae to his side and gathering his belongings in his pack. "If you wouldn't mind, I'd like to accompany you. For a time, at least," Logan said, bowing slightly in a gesture of gentlemanly respect, "You may say that we are more than we seem, but I think you know that there are those who rise above those rank-and-file that normally populate our world. The ones whom one could say are, in a sense, superior to the people whom are content in their lives. I, myself, used to be quite renowned throughout this land as an adventurer and mercenary, before I retired comfortably for several years." |

Her lavander eyes glared at the ranger as he spoke again. Why did he want to travel with her? Did he merely seek a traveling partner? Or did his intrest in her go beyond mild curiosity? Whatever it was, she was not totally pleased about it. But he was his own man, and could choose to do what he liked. If he tried anything, she would simply kill him. She did not think he really proved much of a threat to her. "Do what you wish," she said simply. "If you want to follow, then that is your choice. But I will not slow or wait for you." Without another word she picked up her things and walked off. True to her word, she did not wait for him to gather his things and did not slow down for him to catch up. After all she could not tary. She had to get back to the Burning Fist Monestary and obtain her next set of training. Then she could leave the place behind her sooner... She did not look back to see if the ranger was following or not. ANd if he made any conversation, she spoke little. |

The ranger's lips pursed in a rather sardonic and amused smile as Shalia issued her ultimatum to him. Logan first made to follow, but he eventually gave up and instead sat back down, intending to enjoy a decent night's sleep. That tiefling girl was definitely the kind who attracted all sorts of attention to herself. And indeed, the Ranger anticipated that there would be a future meeting between the two of them. This was far from their last meeting, but who knows how many would follow the first. For now, however, Logan didn't seek to antagonize Shalia with his presence. Another time, perhaps, they could travel together. But for now, he had more pressing matters on his mind. Leaning back, now, continuing to enjoy his ale, Logan looked up at the stars. The Fates were playing their little games with him once again, it would seem, interrupting his retirement the way they did. And, it would seem, they steered him toward meeting a fiery adventurer within the first days of him taking to the road once more. It was obvious that Logan wouldn't be able to just fade back into obscurity like he did before, no... |
