Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

It was one wrong spell that sent everything in a downward spiral. It was not as bad as one can imagine. Yes. Infusing a demon to your soul and banishing yourself to another world is perfectly fine.

As the waves crash on the shore, it brings along another for the ride. Sort of.

Washing up on the shore was an unconscious lad. It was lucky that he had not drowned. Thankfully, the waves weren't strong enough to take him into the water.

Her toes sunk into the sand as she leaned over the shore. Her skirts were rolled up and tied to her hip with a piece of twine so they wouldn't get wet. She leaned into the wet sand, a hand digging out shellfish from the muck. Another merchant had told her that there was some rare shells here to make jewelry out of.

If she could find some she would make some necklaces and pretend to be a native. Then she could sell the shell necklaces overpriced to tourists in the harbor towns. She'd make a fortune! But all she could find was broken pieces of oyster shell and some hermit crabs that kept pinching her fingers.
"Dang it!" She kicked a hermit crab in a red shell back into the sea.

Pulling her feet out of the sand, the merchant stomped down the wet holes her feet had left and began to head up the beach. As she looked towards the sea, she turned, and immediately tripped over some large piece of driftwood washed up beside her.
"Dang it!" With a splash and a thud she fell into the thin water, sinking into the wet sand as she kicked the washed up log out of her way. But it was a little too soft for a hunk of driftwood...

Cold and wet. That was what he felt at the moment. It seemed like a comforting feeli- *thunk*

He felt a strong jab on his side. As if someone had hit him with a staff. he remembered his own training quarterstaff and winced a bit.

"Ah...damn..." He rolled over and laid on his back. He rubbed his side as he tried to get the sand off his face. That hurt a lot.

"What is the matter with-" he had gotten up and tried to asked whoever hit him when the sight surprised him. He rubbed his eyes for a bit. He seemed to be on a shore of some sort with a woman near him. She was...not wearing much it seems and was soaked.

"Am I dead?" He asked and coughed up some water. It was a bit painful. Perhaps he was not dead after all. But with an attractive and alluring person by him, it was almost mistakenly heaven.

"Driftwood these days..." She struggled in the sand. It was difficult to get up with the waves crashing every other second and the wet sand sucking you down. Her clothes were all in a mess by the time she regained her feet.

Luckily there wasn't anyone to see her, considering how inappropriate her dress had become.
"Dang it." Leaning over to scratch her ankle, a voice from under her legs made her jump up and back and she fell to the sand again.

"No ... what? Talking driftwood?!" Jumping to her feet she picked up a dead fish and threw it at the monster from he sea. Drift wood shouldn't talk ...

The answer to his question? A dead fish in the face that goes 'thwap'. Suddenly feeling the scaly sensation clouding his view, he removed it from his face and tried to get into a more comfortable position. But since she was on top of him, it was quite hard for him to stand up.

"Hey, get off me! I'm not driftwood!" He tried pushing him off but the after effects of the banishment left him weak.

If it wasn't driftwood, then what else could wash up from the sea like that? After successfully sucker punching the strange talking thing with a fish, the merchant fled. ... A whole two and a half feet. Slumping in the sand, she glared at the whatever it was as it tried to get rid of the dead fish she'd dropped.

At last it did sorta just slide off to one side, and was yanked back into the sea again. Maybe a seagull would eat it later. Wait ...
"You are a person!?" Well maybe that explained a few things. Talking drift wood ... where had she gotten that idea from.

Suddenly remembering the state of her skirts, her face turned pink as she quickly readjusting herself. Untying the twine and dropping her skirt back to her knees, Kirin brushed her clothes down.
"Well! Uhh ... That's what you get for staring! And tripping me!"

He's person? Well, of course he is! He didn't know what this person was thinking, mistaking him for some driftwood to throw fish at. After a while she seemed to had gotten lighter. Perhaps the realization that he was no demonic driftwood frightened her. Demonic, yes. Driftwood, no.

Looking up to her, time seemed to have stopped. Well. she stared at him a bit, he stared at her...skirt. It was distracting! It took her a while before she fixed her clothes. That snapped him back into reality and he tried to stand up.

"What?" Her reasoning seems...unreasonable. "You're the one that's not watching where you're going! Uh...where am I?" He grumbled, rubbing his head a bit. He could sit but he could not stand up just yet.

She was confused, this guy appeared out of nowhere and now he was yelling at her? Well, she'd show him ... Kicking a heel full of sand at him she jumped back a few steps and crossed her arms with a huff of annoyance. "Me! Me? You watch were you are going! I was just standing there minding my own business and you showed up. Washing up on shore right at my feet so I will trip over you." For all she knew, he could have been a shark trying to eat her! But she thought he was driftwood. But never mind. "Why are you just lounging around in the water?" "Putting her hands on her knees she leaned over and gave him a criticizing look.

This girl is insane! How could he be blamed for something he could not control? Besides...

"Where am I?" He blatantly ignored her for a while and took a look around. Most of the words she said were just reasons to put the blame on him anyway. It'll be hard to argue with someone that keeps trying to find reasons no matter how incredulous.

The face full of sand brought his attention back though.

"Hey, watch it!" He rubbed his face clear of the sand and looked at her as she looked at him. "I...I don't know. What place is this?"

Of course nothing was ever her fault. And he was the only one here, so it had to be him. Thus, it was his fault she tripped over him. Eventually though she calmed down and got over it, still looking at him critically however. "The moonsea shore. Everyone knows that." Weird or not, at fault for tripping her or not, she still got tired of seeing him laying about in the sand. "Come on then." "Leaning forward she offered a hand to help him to his feet.

"The what?" It was ridiculous. He had no idea where that was. Then it dawned on him. His parents said they were to banish the wretched. He was banished as well. He almost fell to his knees in much despair.

Looking up, he saw the hand she offered. He took it and got to his feet. But his legs were still weak and he stumbled forward and onto her!

The guy was a weird guy but whatever. Kirin was tired of standing around here. She needed to find some things worth good money so she could sell them! "Oh never mind then-gah!" The sudden weight of the man was unexpected, him falling on to her then knocked her off balance and she fell backwards into the sand. "Ow!"

"Gah!" He stumbled upon her, getting on top of her as she was laying on the sandy shore. It was...awkward. They were too close. His face was barely an inch towards her. He was on his knees and his elbows. Both his elbows being used as support but they were beside her head and barely gave the support he needed. As he was on his knees, he saw that he was...well, literally in between her legs.

"Uh...Well..."

Well this was awkward. It had been quite awhile since she was last in a position such as thi-never mind! Bad thoughts, bad thoughts, bad thoughts. She quickly shook her head. "I don't even know you. Get off!" She spoke quickly her words drawing closer and closer together. Shifting her weight she lifted an arm and put a palm on the guy's chest, pushing him away with all her strength. "What do you take me for I'm not that kind of person agh!" She blurted out, her words beings spoken more and more quickly until at last she only made a squeak.

She spoke so fast that the only thing he understood was 'Get off!' before she pushed him. Instead of falling back, his left arm collapsed, ridding the balance and caused his to roll onto his left. He only heard her garbled words and 'agh!' before he rolled off of her...somewhat. To his surprised of being shoved off, his left hand had grabbed her, making him roll over and changing their positions to which he was not on the bottom.

"Erm..."
