| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Excuse me good sir, i was wondering if you had any leather sack sfor sale? Im prepareing for a journey and am in need of a sturdy bag." Go-Ruth was spending his day down in the city, looking at the markets and vendors, trying to find supplies for his adventure. The crowded streets were to much for the dwarf. He loved calm peaceful places where he could rest and relax. but Istan was not such a place. all the people working, trying ot make a living, all the kids running about in a playful manner, but what he hated the most was all the damn dust. Day after day the wnd would blow heaps of sand and dirt over the city walls and into its habitat. Go-ruth didnt mind getting dirty, after all he was a blacksmith, But he was due for a change in scenary. The owner of the shop shurgged his shoulders, a confused look on his face. It was like trying to eat sand, all these people ha dno clue what they were doing. Poor merchants just tryng to make a living off of old house hold items. Go-Ruth stood there, his hammer on his back and his temper riseing fast. This place was getting to him, and he was starting to get pissed. With a snarl he turned and left the shop, his bag of gold swinging at his side. He had worked many long hard days saving up his gold, which was hard to do since he loved to party and get drunk. But he knew he would have a merry time venturing the land of imythess. The thing was Go-ruth had been born in istan, never seeing anyone other than the people who lived here, never seeing great new places. It was kind of a comfort, feeling safe in this place. But that time had come to an end. With the recent passing of his father, he felt it was time to start a new chapter. All he needed now was a reliable bag. Most vendors here had some. But they were worn and torn, plastered with all kinds of trash marks and stains of past uses. No he would need a very good bag, one to last him his journey through imythess. |

It was a busy day in Istan, and Virgil was making his way through the crowd of busy merchants and customers. He treaded along staring at his feet as they go from left to right pulling him forward with the small shred of will that he had to keep on walking. Life hadn't been easy on him. Nearly everyday there were times when he would just stop in his place from the sheer lack to keep going, but no matter what he knew deep down there was no stopping. No matter where he goes he will always be hunted by forces stronger than himself. Lost in thought Virgil had nearly made it to the other side of the square when he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. THUD. Sure enough the one second he closes his eyes he nearly tackles a man. He turns to apologize when he hears the clinking of gold on the ground. He looks down to see the mans gold scattering from the torn off bag that the man had attached to him. Virgil began to frantically pick up the pieces. He didnt need another enemy. Not now. I am very sorry about that. I picked up everything I saw. If thats not all I will do what I can to get u anything I lost. |

Go-ruth was a little aggervated at this point, trying to find a damn bag was seeming harder than it should have. He decided to leave this vendor alone and try another when something odd happened. Something that most likely would have pissed him off more. As he went to turn around a skinny man came out of no where, obvisouly not paying attention, slammed into Go-ruth. The bag of gold fell from his belt and spilt out everywhere on the sandy ground. The attention of the crowd was averted to him, many waiting to see what happened next. Watch where your going dumb ass. There are alot of people here, no need to be day dreaming and lolly gagging. He let out a thunderous boom, most likely because of his deep voice. But control was still there, for instead of moving his hand to his hammer, he stepped back and helped the lad pick up the rest of the gold. "Listen, you need to watch yerself around here. Most people would have slipped a dagger undr yer neck. But ya got lucky wid me boy. Letting out a great laugh he walked up to the boy, who looked no older than twenty, and placed a thick meaty hand on his shoulder. "so laddy, what wer ye thinking about anyways?" |

Virgil let out a small and unoticed sigh of relief from the mans laugh. He was right. Most people here would have wanted a fight from something like this, but thankfully this man was different. Everything seemed to be going fine until this man asked him what he was thinking about. Surely this man really didnt want to know ALL about this random kids business so Virgil quickly came up with an alternative. Oh nothing really, just making my plans for the day, thinking about who else i want to run into today. Virgil was trying to lighten the mood a bit. He had found a man with a bit of kindness in him and around here thats something thats hard to find. He certainly didnt want one of the few good guys to hate him. So anyway. You have to be in the marketplace for some reason, and with all that gold. What is it youre looking for? |

Go-ruth was glad to see that the young boy was not mad at him also. After all go-ruth had just shown a little kindness, he didnt want it to blow up in his face. But he was happy when the young boy responded to his question. Although the dwarf felt like he was lyeing or not telling the whole truth, but he was not going to press on to much about it. But then he was asked what his porpuse in the city was. Well young lad, i have going to begin my journey tommrow and was in need of a travling bag. But all thes damn traders aint got nutin i can find of use. Go-reuth sighed and clapped the boy on the back once more. Ya never told me what ya name is boy. Im Go-ruth the Red Hammer. |

Indeed laddie! this city here is full of low lives who make ther gold by scamming us simple folk. But see that aint good to me. I make sure when old Go-ruth comes by here i get the finest treatment by these scum bags. The heafty man laughed again. He brushed a small patch of sand off his shoulder, and watched it fall to the sandy ground before them. It reminded him of why he was even here in this market, to get away from Istan. Go-ruth was silent for a few moments, and this allowed his stomach to give forth a deep grumble. The dwarf looked embarrsed at the sound and almost punched himself, but instead lightly grabbed his mid driff. Oh buddy, me tum tum is talking! might be best to go fill it dont ya think? He let out a welcome gesture and started to walk away from both the stand and virgil. As he made it a few feet he stopped, his short round body turning to face the boy again. Well aint ya comeing, im sure you be hungry to right? No worry, ill spot you a nice meal for the day, what ya say bout that. A old geezer getting ya free food, its a bargin compared to this robbin place! |

Virgil smiled, scanned the ground for any remaining gold pieces, and started to walk with the dwarf. Virgil could definately go for a free meal. It had been forever since he had decent cooked food. Living on the run was definately bad on the stomach. So, whats your story old man. As aged as you look you are bound to have some stories to tell. Virgil followed the dwarf into a small eatery and sat down at the bar next to him. |

They started walking, Go-ruth and virgil, walking towards a very fancy part of istan. Here they were many good vendors and rather expensive places to dine. But he did not mind for his massive sack of gold was starting to get a bit heavy, spending it on food for a new friend was not a bad idea either. They walked into a place called sandy sauce, a very fine tavern in istan. sitting down at the bar he ordered up a very large plate of camel meat and asked virgil what he wanted. As they waited for their meals the boy asked Go-ruth if he had any good stories to tell, and even mentioned his old age. the dwarf got a laugh out of this then turned his body in the chair to face the youngster. "well virgil, to tell the truth i have lived a very long boring life. I was born here in Istan and never left, i know no other lands other than this desert prision. But that is why you found me today. You see i am going off on a journey to explore the rest of imythess before i get so old i cant even talk. |

Virgil began to think that he might be offending the man, but all of his laughter led him to believe otherwise. When asked what Virgil wanted to eat he replied that he wanted a steak and and cup of tea. The tea had minerals that strengthen the mind and the beef would strengthen the body. When you are alone in the world you need all the strength you can get. Virgil got his tea and began to take long warm sips of it. Virgil nearly choked when the dwarf said he had been here his entire life. Dwarfs are known the world over to be travelers and it was incredibly odd to meet one of this age who only knows the place of his birth! Oh wow. Thats hard to believe... Well then this journey will be very good for you. Trust me, theres nothing quite like getting away from what you know.. |

Go-ruth smiled, he had surprised the young boy with his tale, a tale he often did not tell anyone. In fact he had no real friends or comrades, even after living here for all his life. His coversations of late were often held bewteen him and shop keepers, or random folk on the road. To him this random meeting and lunch with a young kid was a gift, a gift he would not allow to preish so lightly. So where are you headed off to laddy? going anywhere in particular or just roaming the land in search of adventure?Go-ruth always enjoyed a good story, and now that he was interested in Virgil he wanted to know a bit more about him. If they were bout bound for other places than istan, it could be possible that they travled together. After all company was better than being alone. |

Virgil gave an empty stare to the man and looked down into his cup of tea. The last thing that Virgil wanted was adventure, but its not like he had any choice in the matter. He has been hoping for the past 2 years that he could stop all of this traveling, but people were after him, and as far as Virgil was concerned. The enemy never sleeps. A day may never come when he wouldn't have to run, so for now running with a friend would be a big plus. Virgil suddenly realized how long he had been staring down at his cup. He looked up to see that the dwarf was still watching him waiting for a response. No no I'm not headed anywhere in-particular. However, Sticking together to long may be a mistake on your part. Virgil looked back down at his tea to see his own reflection. but if you are willing to take that risk then sure we can go together if you would like. Trust me an adventure really isn't all that exciting when your out there alone. |
