Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Marcus has been on a bit of self discovery as of late. One place that he was told that he must visit was called the Broken Strings Inn. This was a place he had never visited, nor even heard of at that, so he decided to check it out. Upon entry he found that it was very large in size. The walls were draped blue curtains. Though what they were hanging from was even more impressive. It was a stage. From what he had heard Performers would come from far to preform here which made it a very interesting spot indeed.

Marcus was never one to visit places such as this but he felt that it was time to expand his social horizons. Meet new people. A social life if you would. This was of course a much better alternative to the fights he had grown accustomed too. Some time off of that would be much appreciated.

Looking around he wondered if he would meet someone interesting.Though that seemed almost certain since everyone here seemed very "Interesting"

Vivian took in a breath, flexing her fingers and rolling her neck. It had been some time since she'd taken up a solo, especially at a place so famous. She had been practicing all week for this, making sure her sooty body didn't leave it's mark on the instrument. It was precious to her, the violin. She had taken extra good care of it, especially after being disowned.

She took a breath in, before strumming the instrument, tuning it one last time. It seemed to silence the crowd for the moment as the music settled in. With another breath, she struck up a tune. It was a simple fiddle melody consisting of only 21 notes, which some of the travelers knew. The tune unwrapped itself around the listeners and they started clapping. By the time it got to the bridge, she paused slightly. Then, she spiraled into improv, lasting only a few measures. She went back to the beginning, speeding up the tempo. As she played the last chord, the tavern clapped and she bowed.

Going off stage, the girl felt like she could breath again. A drink or two might be nice, but what did she knew.
"Whiskey, please."
Handling the drink, she took a sip and turned her attention to the stage once more...

Looking up Marcus noticed a women who played a rather familiar instrument. A violin. He had no idea how to play the thing, but his mother was very fluent with one. The girl was very good, and once it was finished Marcus had to go introduce himself.

He noticed the girl going to get a drink. Walking up to her he introduced himself. "Hello. My name is Marcus, and I have to say. You played very well up there." Just as he finished speaking he glanced away from the girl and looked towards the man who had given her the drink, and said. "A cup of wine." The man gave him a awkward glance as he asked for it in a cup, but did it anyways. Giving Marcus the cup he took a sip. It wasn't what he expected. It tasted almost diluted compared to what they made at home.

"Your compliments are well appreciated, sir."
Vivian was flattered. Whenever she played, she had always been given weird looks. It was bound to be luck that infused itself into this inn. Even Cascadia for that matter. She bowed her head down in order to avoid the redness that perked up in her cheeks. She kicked the violin case to the side, causing a muted groan of discord from the instrument. She pulled aside a chair and motioned the man to sit down.

She looked around, noting that another band had picked up. There was nobody she recognized, hence nobody to tell her that she was doing something wrong.
"Please call me Vivian. What brings you here?"

"It's no problem." Marcus said with a laugh. "Oh and there's no to call me sir. My name is Marcus." He quickly added. Looking down the young girl pushed out a seat and signaled him to join her. Doing just that he placed his drink on the table and sat down.

"Well Vivian. It's very nice too meet you." He said with a bit of a smile while he picked up his glass and drank a bit. It wasn't very good, but then again he didn't expect it too be. Moving back to the conversation Marcus added. "The reason I'm here is probably the reason why most people are here. Just taking a break from day to day life. How about you? Are you here just to preform?"

Vivian tilted her head in a slight nod. Lie...
"Yes indeed. It is not only quite enjoyable but the wages received are fairly nice as well."
She went to take a drink, biting the inside of her cheek slightly. It wasn't often that she lied, but this was dangerous material she was working with. Especially if the genasi she was seeking out was extremely dangerous and rather... loopy.

She set the cup down, a puff of soot billowing up from the sharp movements. With a sigh, she looked down into the sloshing liquid.
"So, you come here looking for anything in particular? And why the Broken Strings? Or is life just giving you a hectic time?"

(OOC: Sorry. Short on muse and time)
