Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Vivian started pacing the ground, searching for what it was. There was something shiny in the overgrowth, right underneath a stone figure of some demonic thing. This ancient city was strange and whatever inhabitants use to survive in this dingy place surely followed suite. She kept on running into crumbling statues and buildings. She couldn't help it.

There were shiny things on the ground.

The animalistic side of her was on full strength. She was hunched over, hoping around like a bird and her hair seemed to keep on sparking up. It was until she reached the sparkling objects that she realized it was bits of broken glass. With a sigh, she straightened up before looking around.

She had no idea where she was now. It seemed like the more she fell into her phoenix spirits, the more she would forget things... A surge of emotions overcame her and she went back to her hunched, old self, shuffling away. A trail of soot once again followed her in her loneliness. Or so she thought...

Little did she know there were people with her in her "isolation".

The plan had worked perfectly. Chester had known that some foolish mortal would try to come here in search of treasure and be lured into his oh so clever trap. The shiny glass fragments had made great fake jewles and the tiny mortal girl had wandered over right infront of him without even noticing his presence. Now he would strike and make a meal of the sorry excuse for a...

It was just then when Chester noticed that he had spent so much time revelking in the greatness of his simplistic trap that he had forgotten to spring his trap and his prey was getting away.

Shifting from his crouched position on the rock he shook off the dust, cobwebs, and what he believed to be blueberry bird poop and lurched from his position on the rock onto the ground. Stepping on the glass and shattering it further making a twinkleing sound as he did so. Just fraking great he alerted the child to his presence... just... fracking... great....

He couldn't sit a-top the building he was on any longer, mostly because he was rolling off of the roof in laughter. Landing on his back, he held his hands to his stomach and kicked his foot now and again. This was the funniest thing Lucian had seen in ages, and by god he was going to enjoy it. He stood slowly, and looked over each of the 'people' in front of him and shook his head. He took a step forward and took his cutlass off his belt, putting it's tip into the dirt and leaning into it before he got an amused grin over his pale face, "Before I even say it, I must say I must thank you, that was quite amusing, and perhaps the worst attempt at ambushing I've ever seen. And to be completely frank, I don't mind a bit of evil but... I can't really condone the harming of a woman, even if she's too young for me."

He shrugged and smiled, looking over the gargoyle for a moment before his eyes glowed black, his wraith sight kicking in. The gargoyle's aura was almost mute to him, bringing a smile to his face, or a bigger one at least. He rocked his body back and pulled the blade from the ground, and in an instant he was within the gargoyles shadow, holding his blade against his shoulder casually. The Moonsea cutlass seemed to gleam in the dull light of the place, and to Lucian's pleasure, was very light in his hand. With a huff, he lifted the blade and twirled it, sheathing it. Walking between the two, he seemed to be subconsciously avoiding stepping on any of the glass on the ground. With a yawn, Lucian stretched his arms upwards and sighed, "I don't suppose I could talk you into just not eating the poor dear? I don't feel like fighting right now... I can still see three of you for heaven's sakes..."
He shook his head, drawing a cigarette from his pocket. He lit it before fixing the glasses on his face and nodding to himself. To on-lookers, it would look like he was having an inner monologue with himself. To him though, he was really just trying to remember what exactly he drank last night. Some kind of whiskey? He wasn't quite sure anymore.
Shaking his head, he put his foot down to keep his balance. If this turned into a fight he'd probably at least enjoy it, from the way his feet can barely set properly. With a chuckle, he readjusted the glasses on his face, "If ya wanna fight though, ya gotta promise you could at least try to damage me a little. It's been a little boring lately, you see."
His eyes seemed to spark to life for a second, but the glow of them finally died. He knew he didn't really need to discern what this creature was, and there was really nothing his aura would do for him. With a huff, he placed his hand on his normal sword. He wouldn't really need his cutlass for this, he figured. Not like he couldn't draw upon it should he have to use it, at least. With a chuckle he took a drag from his cigarette, blowing two circles from his nose carefully. His mind wandered, trying to figure how many more he could form before the gargoyle actually took action.. and then he started to... One.. two..

She heard a crackle.
Then a thud.
And then maniacal laughter, of the sorts.

Vivian was afraid to turn around. She was afraid of what she'd see and of how close she might have been food, given the loud conversation. She was also afraid of ruining her grey dress, because she adored this dress. It was about the only article of clothing that wasn't ruined by the soot-trail she left behind. Nice and lacy too... she bluntly thought as, in spite of herself, she turned around.

Her voice came out in a squeak. The girl froze in place as she saw the hand on the sword. It seemed as if they were going to fight. That was the last thing she needed tonight. Since there was nothing else to do, and nowhere else to go, she decided it might be best to hide the fact that three... things were there. If what she saw was a sword, then the clanking of metal would undeniably alert somebody. Flailing her arms, her body finally kicked in and she scuttled over to the two. It seemed as if the elf was lackadaisical, almost surreal. It was hard for her to make the gargoyle in the middle of the night, but in any case she stayed for away from the monster. She was several paces away from the two, her hands folded in front of her chest, soot falling around her, and her chin jutting out.

"Gentlemen. If you must fight, take it somewhere else. It's in the dead of night, and the last thing I'd do would to wake up somebody or something within these ruins."
