| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. I've decided that I'm going to give everyone, including myself, a hand with keeping track of the main plot line for Imythess! This may be moved to a more appropriate place later on and will be subject to updates as needed. If there are any questions or concerns, please PM me! The Story So Far... Imythess's 4th Birthday The Party in Taras (CLOSED) -Celebration- The Start of Something Evil... (CLOSED) -Introduction- Party in Cascadia (CLOSED) -Celebration- interrupted by a demon attack, the city raised out of the ground! A Caravan (OPEN) -Quest- Second part pending... Imythess's 5th Birthday The Party in Taras (CLOSED) -Celebration- Annual Birthday Tournament (OPEN) -Contest- Party in Cascadia (CLOSED) -Celebration- All Divine Power is Lost! An Attack on Taras (CLOSED) - after the party, only by days, more demons attack Imythess. A Masquerade (OPEN) -Party!- Imythess was the Land of the Gods. To protect it from the wars of mortals, a treaty was made. That treaty has been destroyed, by Veronna in her anger. The Gods of Imythess are gone. The largest city is burned, and the war has only started. Now Imythess will have to be saved... P.S. The Treaty A treaty created by the Ancient Gods to protect Imythess from the fires of war thousands of years ago, has been destroyed. It was said in the treaty that nothing from the out side world shall affect Imythess, and nothing from Imythess shall affect the outside world. Only the divine knew about this deal made between the ancient gods and the Dark Being who had first started the Separation War. So after the Ancient Gods left, the treaty was stored away, to be kept safe. It was discovered by Eithral, the first of the Old Gods. He knew it was important, but never shared his information with the rest of the gods, feeling that it was best unknown, especially for the mortals. It was placed with the rest of his scrolls and kept safe, but then forgotten as the Old Gods left and the new ones stepped in. It was years until the treaty was found by the New Gods, discovered by Veronna Darkblade, Goddess of Blades and Lady Era, Goddess of Fire. After learning what the treaty was for, Veronna destroyed it, believing Imythess was meant to be much more then a mere land, and hoping that they could when the war that she had just thrown themselves in to. The Barrier There was a barrier surrounding Imythess for several days before anyone knew it was there. It's high, black, swirling walls were able to keep anything and anyone in or out. The reason for this was the treaty, because of all the fighting going on outside of Imythess was so severe, that the land of the divine had to be closed off to the rest of the world to keep it protected. With the destruction of the treaty, the barrier has fallen and Imythess is open to attack from any one of their former neighbors and allies. Fall of the Gods After destroying the Treaty, it allowed the Dark Being to fully enter Imythess and the first thing he did was strip the Gods of their power, feeding off it and making him stronger. Most of the Gods were able to withstand the trauma of loosing so much power, except for the Goddess of Nature, Enelya, who perished along with her divine power. The Gods had protected Imythess for thousands of years, and with one motion, and the act of one person, that protection was gone, leaving mortals without anyone to pray too, and no one who could help them. Taras Burns While distracted about the news of the Treaty, the Goddess of Blades did not know her city was under an attack. The Divschatten guild had made a deal with the Dark Being, one that would ensure Lynthaer Golthery's role in the war to come. A stone as placed in the middle of the city, and it opened a portal in to the Abyss. Demons surged out and in a matter of hours, the port city of Taras, was burned down. Sometime during the attack, the stone had been removed and the portal was gone, but left several hundred demons on the surface. Lynthaer was also no where to be found, even weeks after the attack had happened. A camp was built a ways from the fallen city, and all the refugees who had no where else to go now live in tents. Most of the other cities in Imthess had been supportive, and had supplied anything the camp may need, but would not take on any refugees. |
