Title: [P] Fé's New Bell

Isurphéollyn Phaelisu - August 2, 2005 09:19 PM (GMT)
They had finally arrived, and just in time to see a beautiful sinset before night. After an hour, or so, it would be night, and goodness would only know what would happen in the streets of this town. Fé, however, wasn't concerned with that... This place was absolutely beatiful! It was much larger than any town in Valdar, even Allemange, their capital! His mind quickly switched back to the important, however, and he remembered that lodging would indeed be a problem.

"You were right, back at the cathedral, you know... I will have a bit of trouble with lodging. I suppose I could scrounge up some gold, and what I've got on me, to pay for a room... Do you know where the local Inn is?" He chuckled softly, "Sorry... A stupid question, probably."

Fé then chuckled softly once more, most likely for the same reason as before. But no, this time he was laughing at one of his personal thoughts -- Quite a humourous one, actually. Her name was just beautiful, and left for many puns. He thought to himself, she'll be my bell, but knew that it wasn't healthy to think such thoughts right away. He tried to keep himself from doing so.

Belladonna - August 3, 2005 01:46 AM (GMT)
"Nonsense!" Bella replied, giggling and huddling closer to Fé. She smiled, and continued," There's quite a few good inns in Taras. I know a small one. It's nice; not too many people know about it, and you get a nice veiw of the city. Don't you worry about gold. I'll pay."

She was taken with him. Sure, they'd met only a couple of hours ago, but she hadn't met a man that hadn't tried to kill her, make a deal with her, or take her to his room on first sight in a long time. Her mind shifted through possible futures; her imagination soared. She quickly stopped it, reminding herself that they'd only just met.

Her mind fell upon a place, the Docks, as soon as it had fallen on Isurphéollyn. She vaguely remebered visiting it. It was beautiful at night. The inky waters matched the black sky which was sprinkled with stars. Moonlight bounced off the surface of the water, splashing visitors with ethereal light. The great vessels and smaller fishing boats sat there, like sleeping swans, bobbing up and down, waiting for the dawn.

Smiling, she said
," I've got something to show you. We can go in the morning, but it's much more beautiful at night. Would you like to go?"

Isurphéollyn Phaelisu - August 3, 2005 03:39 AM (GMT)
Fé was a little shocked when he heard her giggle. Even more so, he was reluctant to stay by her side after that, as she pushed herself even closer to him. Half him said that this was an awsome sign, however the other, more basic-instinct side said that he was supposed to be a shy youth. However, he tried his very best to not show any signs of reluctance, and he woudl like to think that he did very good with not showing any. Even though he was surprised at her actions, he was in no way disappointed... a bit pleased, even, as hope for a something soon grew. But... It could have just been her personality. He still tried to stray from thoughts that monks were, technically, not allowed to think.

"Well, that sounds just great," he said, in response to her comment about the inn and its view. Soon, though, her words caught up with him, and he quickly shook his head in deny. "No, no, never. I simply couldn't stay at an inn on your money; it would be unchivalrous!" Unbeknown to quite a few, Fé was in fact adopted into a family that lived in Allemange after he was converted to Xlander's ways -- A rich family. One of only noble blood, they took a huge chance by adopting a child that had absolutely no noble blood in him, and even more so that he used to kill noble kin. Fé was all but gracious, and all gold that he earned always went straight to his adopted family, and he never spent any on himself. Chivalry was, by Fé's thoughts, the only thing keeping him a nobleman... And he really didn't like to think of himself as a barbarian.

He was listening closely, though, when she told him of a place she had to let him see. It most certainly sounded very interesting, indeed, and Fé wanted madly to see it. Something more beautiful than this already striving town? My, this place was much better than Valdar so far... And Fé thought this, even though it was a strong sense of heresy. What good was a god in a land that he did not govern? Oh, my, Fé stopped himself that instant, and wanted even to slap himself for thinking such things.

"I would most definitely enjoy seeing this sight... And tonight sounds all the better, Bella, lead the way." He smiled softly down at her.

Belladonna - August 3, 2005 01:34 PM (GMT)
"OK," Bella replied. The Docks weren't too far away, and there were little to no crowds or people out a night...Often for good reason. Vampires made this time their feeding time, but they didn't have to worry about that; most of them knew Bella. They wouldn't harm her; they feared her mother, greatly, and didn't know she had deceased.

They arrived at the Docks in no time at all. It was just as Bella remembered it. The Moonsea spread out it's inky waters, the Astenden Isles poking out as little clumps of black. The moon shined brightly on the water, aided by the light of the stars, soaking Bella and Fé in a strange, silvery light. Water sloshed beneath their feet with a calming shhhh shhhh sound.

Bella released his arm, taking hold of his hand, and led him to the edge of the dock. She sat down, letting go of his hand, and beckoned for him to sit next to her. Carefully, she removed her embroidered slippers, letting her feet fall to meet the sea. Times like this made her feel like she wasn't a vampire. Her family hated water, and wouldn't go near it. Perhaps, she thought, I'm not a vampire, just as mother wasn't an Avariel. Perhaps, I'm something more. Mabey, I don't need theiving...I'm going to stop...

"Beautiful, isn't it?" she asked, smiling, looking out at the glimmering water.

Isurphéollyn Phaelisu - August 3, 2005 02:29 PM (GMT)
He came with her, and looked down, feeling uneasy, when she took his hand. He was shy, but lived through the arm part. Now that she had taken his hand, he felt like he was going to explode. He lived through that, too, though, and walked with her to the end of the docks. He watched as she motioned for him to sit next to her, and his shy side said NO, like always. He, however, wasn't listening to his shy side.

He sat, and took off his boots. He laughed very softly to himself, thinking that her slippers and his boots were totally different... His own thoughts, and his alone, that way no one else could know what messed-up things went through his head... Like comparing shoes.

He sat his fairly large leather boots to his side, and slipped his socks into their respective boot as well. Afterwards, he slipped his feet in the water like she had done, and was rather shocked with the temperature. He tried not to shout, and let his legs slowly get used to it.

He leaned back, using both of his hands to support him, and smiled as he looked out at the quiet, tranquil docks. "Aye," he nodded to Bella, "it is very beautiful. Not as beautiful as you, though," he let out, not really even realizing he had spoken his thoughts.

Belladonna - August 3, 2005 03:17 PM (GMT)
Bella blushed at Fé's compliment. Smiling, she said ," Thanks."
She wondered if he was saying that because it was his nature, or if he was feeling the same way she did...Then again, what was she feeling? She was hesitant, yes, only because of what she was. More than anything, however, she was happy. Ecstatic. Infatuated? Yes, she answered herself, I guess I am.

She smiled with her revelation. Part of her was tempted to lean her head on his shoulder, but she wasn't sure if she should listen to it. What if he was shy? She decided she had nothing to lose, anyways and let her curl covered head rest on his bare shoulder. It felt strange at first, and she was blushing, but she calmed down and focused on how the water felt against her feet.

This isn't fair, she thought, He doesn't know who I am...If I tell him he won't care about his feelings; he'll kill me. He doesn't have to know...I'm going to change. Not for him. For me...I need to. I have to. Mabey I'll tell him after a while, but not now. Not unless he asks.

She waved her feet back and forth in the water. Why was nothing simple? Her life was like a knot. An intricate, mind blowing, deceptive knot. Mabey the Cleiara that Ama had told her about could help her. Or mabey that lover she'd spoken of could help her too. She'd figure that out later. All she had to worry about now was the man sitting next to her.

Isurphéollyn Phaelisu - August 3, 2005 10:43 PM (GMT)
As she thanked him for his compliment, he looked at her, a little bit confused. He wasn't exactly sure what she was thanking him for. His mind searched back to what they had just done, and he considered that perhaps she thought that he needed to be thanked for just sitting with her, and seeing the docks. He now traced back to his most recent thought, about her being beautiful, and blinked softly. Did I say that out loud? he asked himself, this time being extremely careful not to let those thoughts escape his tiny little head.

He felt very strange, and even more so when she had laid her head upon his shoulder. He felt a little embarrassed now, in fact, that he didn't have a shirt on... It was odd, and even though she didn't seem to mind. Slowly and gently kicking his feet in the very relaxing water, he looked down to the top of Bella's head, since he couldn't see her face anymore. Part of him wanted to lean down and kiss her head... But what was he thinking?!

A question, in fact, that demanded an answer. What was he thinking, anyway? Not even he knew... His thoughts now wandered madly, as he was stuck between wanting to do some things, and knowing not to do them. He sighed softly to himself, and smiled softly. "Want to know why I never cried for my family?"

Belladonna - August 4, 2005 01:57 AM (GMT)
The topic of family stung Bella's ears as Fé mentioned it. She was curious, though. Mabey, they had something in common when it came to family matters. Smiling, she softly replied," Of course. I think we might have something in common when it comes to kin."

Her mind drifted to her mother. How sweet Nora had been to her, though the rest of the family had utterly rejected her. She remembered times when her father would try to hurt her, but her mother would take the brunt of it. She remembered her mother's bruised arms and face, and that she'd said it was all for the love of her dearest daughter. She remembered love. Her mother's love, that stayed only in her memory and her heart. Oh, how she clutched at those memories, praying that she'd never forget.

I wonder if it'll be easier for me to talk about family once he's shared his story, Bella thought. Fear swelled up inside her, fear of rejection. She did not want Isurphéollyn to reject her...Not for anything. She didn't want to lie either.Lieing just wasn't fair; she wouldn't do that to him.

Isurphéollyn Phaelisu - August 4, 2005 04:43 AM (GMT)
He took in a deep breath, and gave out a very simple answer: "I have no reason to cry for them, that's why." He chuckled softly, and shook his head. "Why would I cry for those who died a just death on the battle field, protecting that which they valued most -- Virtue. I would not cry for those lucky enough to have been passed on to the other life, a better place, where war, hatred, and disgust are not a problem. The food will taste better, I imagine, and the water will never be polluted. The sky will always be lit with millions of stars, each twinkling only to your delight. The floor you would walk on would be one of a transparent colour, and below would be fields of roses. Pain would not exist, not physical nor emotional, and you would never be let down." He sighed softly at the thought of this magical place, and was sad to say it wasn't as easy as killing yourself. "Only those willing enough to wait," he continued, "will get in."

He took in a deeper breath, and let it all out in a large sigh. "They talk to me, you know," he suddenly let out. "My family." He nodded and thought of that night, as he remembered it vividly. "They came to me in a dream -- Told me to wake up. I woke up shocked, thinking it was a nightmare, but they all stood before me. They told me it would be okay. They told me it was their fate to die in that battle. They told me that it was my turn to gain honour, not revenge. They told me... Never to cry."

He smiled, and could remember their exact words, and the tone they used. He remembered their motions, their look. He could see them in his head now, their lip movement and all. He could even imagine waking up and the shock it was to see them all standing there, even though they weren't. "They made me promise. They made me swear I'd gain honour above all else; virtue before power; justice above personal vendettas. I laid down my axe that day, and promised them all that they made me promise. Never have I cried, and I never shall."

He sat back up, as his arms that were holding him were getting very tired, but made sure not to disturb her head on his shoulder. "I became a monk, a pious man of my now true lord, Xlander'Teth. He is mighty, and I now realize I should have served him my whole life." He grinned softly, "I have fulfilled my tasks. I have never hit a woman, and have always strived to be good -- Honour. Never have I trained myself in times when I should be on another task -- Virtue. And never will I gain revenge through hate and rage -- Justice." He sighed, "but the hardest was the last promise. Never to cry... I do my best, and I have held out. I miss them dearly, but they promise me a better life shall I not cry for them. I must be strong, for my family. For my god. For Valdar."

He sighed, and looked down to Bella, and shook his head in apology. "I'm so sorry... Such a boring story, I'm sure you didn't want to hear any of that rubbish. I'm sure it was just my heart going mad that made me see them... Don't listen to me, I'm just rambling about anything." His eyes almost swelled, and it looked half-suggestive that he wanted to cry. Fulfilling his promise was a hard task...

But he shed not a tear -- Not even one.

Belladonna - August 4, 2005 01:44 PM (GMT)
"Oh, Fé," Bella said, smiling," It wasn't rambling! It was quite beautiful, actually. You are lucky to have had such a wonderful family. Some of us are not so fortunate."

Another tide of fear and adrenaline rose in her chest. She wanted to tell him, honestly she did. It was the right thing to do. She didn't deserve anything from him. Not his love, even though she knew she wanted it...Perhaps if she told him who she was he would be accepting. She lifted her head from his shoulder, sighed, and began," I'm...My family rejected me. I wasn't what they'd hoped for. I didn't live up to their standards."

Tears began to roll down her face, and she had a hard time keeping up her smile," My father used to beat me...My mother often tried to protect me from him. She'd get hurt in the process. The rest of the family treated me like an invalid...I suppose I was. I didn't or couldn't learn the things they wanted me to. I didn't hunt...I got into things I shouldn't have, but for a good reason. It stopped me from doing things that were much worse...They hated me...They still hate me."

She paused, looking at him. She wanted to look strong, but on the inside she felt like crumbling. Her gaze faltered, she couldn't look at him. He was so good, so righteous, and what was she? A good for nothing theif who worked for a corrupt government? An invalid, forever rejected from her family? A child of a demon and an angel, fighting for stability? Choking back tears, she softly said," You'll hate me too...Everyone does..."

Isurphéollyn Phaelisu - August 4, 2005 02:21 PM (GMT)
He was relieved to hear that Bella didn't think of him as a ramble, although he was still half-convinced that she didn't really need to hear all of that stupidity. Sometimes, not even Fé himself believed that night really happened. But, by believing this, his life lead to better, more honourable things, instead of his old barbarianism.

He then listened to her story, with wide eyes. He was a rather eager to hear from her what was wrong, and why she looked so glum before at the Cathedral. But, when he heard her story, he too even wanted to cry at the thought of such an unjust raising. Now, too, he felt even guilty. He had always had the egotistical thought that his life was by far the worst, and now that he had heard just hers, he felt like apologizing to everyone he had told was fine.

Did she say 'hunt'? he thought to himself. This instantly made him collect that she was raised on a farm, or of the sort, perhaps even in a clan like he himself was. Of course, the truth was shielded from him, but he didn't know any of it.

His eyes widened when she told him that he would hate her. He eagerly shook his head in protest, and his voiced even seemed a little elevated when he said: "No, Bella! No, never; you are so innocent. Whatever your silly past, or deeds, I would never hate you, Bella... Virtue before power; honour above all else." He wanted to read down and brush his hand against her cheek, but kept himself from doing so. "Why... would I possibly hate you?"

Belladonna - August 4, 2005 03:29 PM (GMT)
"Because," Bella said, shakily ," Because of what I am...My mother was an angel...Her blood runs a little stronger in my veins than my father's...My father is a vampire and a demon, and I hate him. He hates me, and he hated my mother. She had no idea of who he was when she married him...She had no idea she'd be giving birth to a great-great grandaughter of one of the most abysmal demons to have come into the Material Plane."

Bella didn't dare to even glance at Isurphéollyn. She hadn't theived in weeks; she'd thought about quitting. Maybe he was the reassurance she needed. It was time to stop her life of crime. Her mother would want it that way. Brushing away tears, she continued," Before I met you at the cathedral, I was visiting my mother's grave. They buried her a couple of days ago. I'm afraid of what my father will do to me if he finds me. I don't have my mother for protection."

She sighed, and paused to brush away stray curls. Part of her was waiting for him to run away or start shouting or pull out a dagger, like the rest of them, but the other knew he wouldn't. Or hoped. She shivered. The night seemed cold now, but that might've been because of the subject of their coversation. She pulled her feet from the water, tucking her knees to her chest.

Isurphéollyn Phaelisu - August 4, 2005 06:47 PM (GMT)
He blinked softly. "Wha--?!" His eyes were widened now as he took in what she said. The whole of it was beyond belief, and he was very hesitant to listen to the rest of her story. "An... angel?" This made him want to bow, and worship her. "Vamp--vampire? Demon?!" This made him want to slay her without question. He barely even heard her mention that her and her father didn't get along well, and he now understood why she wouldn't 'hunt'.

He was faced with an extremely difficult decision. Honour above all else, he thought to himself, surely, but... what about duty? He was still shocked by her words, and could barely think. The honourable thing to do would be to accept it, and understand that she doesn't want to be what she is, and know that she is changed. The dutiful thing to do would be to kill her, in the name of all good. She was a forbidden child... Holy angel, and evil demon. In Valdar, she would be burned at the stake... But I'm not in Valdar, am I?

"May... Xlander strike me down..." He took in a deep breath, "but no harm will come to you, Bella."

Belladonna - August 4, 2005 07:37 PM (GMT)
"Thank you," Bella said through tears of relief, " I thought you'd try to kill me, like everybody else." She felt like hugging him, like singing in joy, and diving into the water in a movement in euphoria. Her feelings did not burst out of her in any of these actions, but instead by one that she couldn't control. Quickly, she kissed his cheek.

Blushing deep red, she stuttered
," Oh...I...um...I-i-i'm really sorry...I didn't- I mean..."
She stopped and took a deep breath. Quietly, she said, " I'm really sorry."

She sheilded her blushing face with her veil of curls, leaning forward to look in the water. She removed the gold circlet that was still on her red head, fiddling with it nervously. Great job, said a voice in her head. It was Amarwen's, who'd been observing the scene from a nearby boat. The spider continued, Excellent move. I-

Shut up, Ama, Bella cut her off. Though Ama was her best friend, she found her sense of sarcasm annoying at times. This was one of those times when she didn't want her purple spider friend to be watching over her shoulder. Firmly, she said through their telepathic link, Just go.

Isurphéollyn Phaelisu - August 4, 2005 08:19 PM (GMT)
He blinked softly, and even slightly blushed himself. He was the most shy person he knew, and even though that was the truth he wasn't very embarrassed when she kissed his cheek. Relieved, one could call it, as the feeling rushed through his veins to all parts of him, making him relaxed in every way. "You don't need to apologize," he simply said, "I understand."

Her blush, which he just a glimpse of, was actually quite cute. He loved to see it, and thought she was simply adorable. It was rather unfortunate, he thought, that she had to cover her beautiful face with not-as-beautiful locks of hair. His hair too was now slung over his right eye, as it seemed never to bother his left one, but only his right. Perhaps just the way he always sat, but who knew. However, Fé brushed some of his hair away from his right eye and tcked it behin his ear, so that once again he may see, even if it was just her curls.

His more passionate side unknowingly took over as he steadily reached down and brushed most of her hair gently out of the way, letting her see his rather re-assuring smile painted upon his lips. "You shouldn't hide your face, Bella, that deprives me of your beauty." Just like all the other times he had called her beautiful out loud, he really hadn't even noticed his thoughts escaped his smile-curved lips.

Belladonna - August 4, 2005 09:13 PM (GMT)
"You spoil me," Bella responded in a teasing manor, greatly relieved by Fé's reaction to her kiss. She hadn't meant for it to happen, it just did. Not that she wasn't happy that it did; she was quite pleased with it's outcome.

She let her feet fall back into the water, returning her head to where it'd been resting on his shoulder. Warmth rose into her heart for the first time in a long while, and she felt like everything fit for the first time. The golden circlet lay in her lap. She ran a finger along it, following it's graceful curves. It was simple, with vine motif that curve with elegance to fit atop her head. Gazing at it, she said
,"We should go back to town soon, before the inn closes up for the night. Taras isn't particularly safe at night, either (I learned that the hard way).

"We can go shopping tommorrow. I expect you'll need more clothing. Taras tends to get a little chilly around this time of year. Other than shopping, what would you like to do? Taras has some amazing sights. The shore is beautiful in the daytime. Lots of people go swimming there, in the Moonsea. There's the Library too. It huge; you'll be able to learn everything you need to know about Imythess there."

Isurphéollyn Phaelisu - August 5, 2005 03:20 AM (GMT)
It was strange, he thought, that this would happen the way it was. He felt like he knew her, and not like he knew her now. He felt that, with her head on his shoulder, and sitting with his feet in the water next to her's, and her arm previously around his... He simply felt that they'd been best friends -- Known each other forever, even, and it was hard for him to accept they had just met that same night... At the thought, it was even a little scary.

He nodded, and concured. "I agree," he said, "I would hate to get mugged, then be late for the inn. That would be very unfortunate." He pulled his feet out of the water and pulled them up onto the dock, and tried his best not to disturb her head on his shoulder until she felt like raising it herself. He slipped on his wool socks, first right, then his left, and pulled them up as high as they'd go. He took his left leather boot and slipped it on its foot, then of course the right boot too.

He didn't get up, though, until Bella was ready to go, so he just slung his feet back over the edge but made sure his boots weren't in the water. He'd sit there all night, had she wanted to, even if they did miss the inn. Fé was rather confidant that no thief would get the better of them, especially when Fé's fists of justice were on their side. Listening to Bella's next words, though, he laughed.

"No.. I thank your offer, but I am binded to these cloths as they are. As a monk, I can not remove these baggy hemp pants, as they represent my lord. Normally, I would be wearing Xlander's silk robe as well, but I have made a vow never to wear it... Interesting story, actually -- Perhaps I'll tell you sometime." He took in a deep breath, and wanted to smack himself. Nice, he thought, like she wants to listen to your boring stories.

Belladonna - September 1, 2005 03:31 PM (GMT)
Belladonna pulled her feet out of the water, reluctant to leave. She pulled on her silk slippers, making sure her feet were dry so they wouldn't ruin the expensive fabric. Her long dress rustled softly as she rose to her feet. She placed the circlet atop her red curls, adjusting it here and there, as to make her hair look neat and tidy beneath it's golden ring.

Bella took a deep, quiet breath of the salt air, and looked out across the Moonsea. She smiled wistfully. She might've stayed there all night were she not so tired and eager for a drink.

A slender hand reached out for Fé's, and smiling, she said
," Why don't you tell me on the way? I'd like to hear it. Valdar seems very interesting."

Then a thought struck her. Fé would want to go back home, wouldn't he? Her heart sunk. What was worse was she knew someone who could help him go back home. Guiwen the Planeswalker...And when he left she'd be alone again. She hated the idea of being alone, knowing she wouldn't see him again. Stuffing the thought into the back of her mind, she focused on the present. The future could wait.

Isurphéollyn Phaelisu - September 4, 2005 11:45 PM (GMT)
"On the way?" He blinked softly, and without noticing, he also welcomed her hand gladly to his, as it grasped hers the same way she did his. He was a little bit relieved to hear that his stories weren't all that boring. But, beyond that, he was a bit afraid to think that maybe she was just making him feel comfy...

"Well, Valdar really is beautiful," he began as he started walking whichever way she would lead him, "but 'tis only a speck of an island in our vast land of Tynl, even though Valdar's the biggest of 'em. There's also Chäel, a beauty of a sight; and the woods of Calira, on Ealan... Oh, what a magnificant sight."

He sighed. "But really, I wouldn't dare bore you with such a story as why I don't wear a silly monk's robe. It's really not that nice a robe, anyway, just gets treaded under your feet when you walk, is all."

He smiled, then, and noticed that he hadn't the smallest clue on where he was going. With that in his mind, he asked: "Do you know where you're going?"

Belladonna - September 5, 2005 02:56 AM (GMT)
"Of course," Belladonna replied, resting her head on his shoulder as she smiled and giggled softly ," We'll be there in three...two...

One."
She stopped just in front of an inn with a sign that read,'The Apple Orchard Inn', accurately so as the inn's claim to fame was their small orchard in the back lot. Welcoming lights shined through the panes of the large bay windows out front, illuminating the dark light with their warm golden glow. The door was large, with a handcrafted, comforting feel. The handle was engraved with an apple tree, as was the door.

Bella knocked, and was promptly greeted with a welcoming voice as the door opened. Her eyes sparkled in the soft glow of the apple scented candles.
A large man with red hair and a long, wiry beard smiled, and exclaimed
," Ms. Bella! How nice to see ye again, my dear. And who's this fine young lad?"

"It's wonderful to see you as well, Tom. This is Isurphéollyn, he's new to Taras," Bella replied, smiling.

Tom was like an uncle to Belladonna, and he worried about her very often. Unbeknownst to her, he knew who her family was, and he knew about her profession. She seemed brighter, however, her heart was light. She was the innocent young girl she was supposed to be.

"Is he? Welcome to this fine city, my lad. Ms. Belladonna here is an excellent guide; I'm sure she'll show ye all the sites about Taras. Have ye travelled far, my boy?" He asked, his lips curving into a smile, showing off his rosy cheeks and crinklling up his green eyes.

Isurphéollyn Phaelisu - September 5, 2005 03:12 AM (GMT)
He sort of half-chuckled as Bella counted down to their arrival. He felt silly for asking her if she knew where she was going... After all, it was her idea in the first place to go to this very good-looking inn. Fé was a bit amazed by the sheer elegence of the outside of the building... He couldn't wait to see the inside, other than the peeks he got through the window.

He just smiled and nodded as Bella introduced him to her obvious good friend, and probably owner of the inn... Or of the sort. "Aye," Fé once more half-chuckled, "very far. North, I'm from; way yonder -- Probably further then ye been." Of course, this was a plain lie... And Bella would have known this as well. If she really wanted to, she was more than welcome to point out his bluff. Fé, on the other hand, wasn't going to say a word about anything.

(Sorry I couldn't give you a bigger post)

Belladonna - September 5, 2005 06:59 PM (GMT)
Bella smiled, and didn't say a thing about Valdar. Fé would want it that way, anyways, and it was probably safer to lie. If people found out he would be a novelty, or some might think he was crazy. Better to lie and be safe than tell the truth and be endangered, she thought.

Tom produced two keys from the little desk drawer behind the counter and handed one to each of them. Smiling, he said,
"North, eh? Aye. I don't believe I've been up that way. Not much of a traveller. I've got my roots firmly planted 'ere. Yer rooms are right across the hall from eachother, 15 'n 16. Now g'night to ye both. It's high time I got meself some shut-eye, 'n after yer travelling you must be tired too, my lad. G'night to ye!"

"Goodnight Tom," Bella said, smiling as the man opened the door behind the counter and entered the room behind it.

Pulling on Fé's hand, she made for the staircase at the end of the room. She climbed it, her silk slippers making little noise as she ascended to the floor above. She stopped in front of her room, and let go of his hand.

"Well, I'll see you in the morning, then," she said, but before turning to unlock her door, she continued," Thank you, by the way. Nobody has treated me like you have."

((That's ok. ^^))

Fé had also bid a good night to the man, seemingly named Tom. "G'night," Fé had started, "may ye sleep well, and dream merrily." That was what most people said to each other when they parted their last words of the day back in Valdar. Usually, also, they'd make a reference to the Lords of Old, but Fé had figured a term like that would mean almost nothing to them here in Teras.

Soon, though, he was interrupted in his thoughts by the tugging sensation that Bella was giving him on his hand. He quickly followed, after taking the keys of course, and walked about a step behind Bella. However he made absolutely sure not to step on her fabulously made silk slippers. He thought it a sin, and even stared at his feet the whole time up the stairs to make sure he wouldn't.

Fé had to admit to himself... He was a little bit confused when he had heard Bella thanking him, for nothing he had remembered doing. He even tried to think back, and see if there was anything in particular he'd expect her to thank him for... But he remembered nothing. "What do you mean, Bella? Treat you like how?"

"Like you honestly care about me," Bella said,"No man has treated me with such chivalry. Thank you."

With a click the door unlocked as she turned the key. Her hand curved around the doorknob, but before turning it and opening the door, she looked at Fé, and softly said, "Goodnight, Fé."

With that she entered the room, undressed, redressed into the night clothes the inn provided, and hopped into bed. Smiling, she fell asleep, with thoughts of the future in her head. For the first time the future looked bright.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Amarwen stood in the window sill of the room, her figure illuminated with an eerie moonlight glow. A black cat sat next to her. A gold collar was set around his neck, engraved with old runes and elvish words in tongues nolonger understandable.

This is Belladonna? he telepathically asked Ama.

Yes, she replied, scuttling to the top of the cat's head. His bright green eyes examined the sleeper. She stirred for a moment, but the cat remained placid. Ama continued, We'll meet her in the morning, when she's alone.

Alone?

Yes, she's got a companion, now come on.

The pair vanished from the window sill as fast as they'd come, leaving no sign that they'd ever been there.

Fé blinked a little bit softly as she spoke her words, and vanished into her room's darkness. As the door closed, he thought to himself her words. As he did the same she did, unlocking his own door and slowly turning the knob, he spoke to himself. "Chivalry?" He softly commented, "I hadn't thought of it..." He really hadn't, either, as it was simply his good nature that had struck Bella, not some silly chivalry.

Isurphéollyn Phaelisu, the man of good nature, opened his room's door and headed inside. The room was very nice, he thought, and felt a bit guilty that he wasn't paying for it out of his own pocket. He even chuckled at the funny thought, as his hemp pants had no pockets. But he pushed his silly jokes and useless remarks out of the way, and made for the bed on the side of the room, right near an elegantly placed window. He plopped down onto the sheets spread out on the matress, and peered out the window, gazing.

"Teras..." Fé said to himself, with a little bit of sadness in his silent tone, for no one but himself to notice it. "Is it that bad?" He asked himself, "Is this truly a bad place? It's a haven compared to the warmongering states of Valdar... Chäel's no better, either. Heh," he chuckled, "even Ealan said they've found traces of bad news. Perhaps... I should not call this place Teras. Perhaps I should not call it Imythess..."

Fé laid on the sheets, not using them to cover himself. He wouldn't change, either, as he was bound to his clothes as they were, even if his God's eyes couldn't reach into another realm. "Perhaps I should learn to call it..." Fé, once more, peered out the window towards the sky as his head fell onto the pillow. "...home."

After a few following thoughts, Isurphéollyn Phaelisu, the man of good nature... would finally come to sleep. Only one last word would escape his tiring lips: "Bella...donna."
