Title: Old scars.
Antagonistic Vagabond - July 27, 2005 08:11 PM (GMT)
Idle digits slid across the jagged edges and the numerous humps and bumps of the shattered wall before him. The touch, the scent, and the sight of the city brought his memories tailing back to the past, throwing him into an abyss of reminiscing. He was merely a child when he was almost burnt alive by the raging inferno that fed off his town; luckily he had escaped with his life. For a couple of moments he sat in deep thought as his eyes wandering the empty shattered town that once was. Slowly his hand slipped away from the wall and fell lifeless to his side. Pushing off with his right foot he made his way throughout the ruins, passing buildings that still had standing walls, but gutted insides and buildings that had no real obvious structure to it besides crumpled rock where the walls should have been. Slowing to a dead halt, his eyes traced the ground before him where a rather strange object laid, dropping to one knee his right hand slowly moved out to the object, hesitating slightly as it had. Gradually his digits coiled around the object as he plucked it from the ground and held it up to examine in the fading light of the sun as clouds rolled past. Crimson hues studied the object for a couple of moments, before finally recognizing it as a doll. His hand clenched tightly around the doll as his teeth clenched, as a slight rage built up inside of him.
Taking his free hand, he dug a minor hole in the rubble just enough to hide the doll. Gently he placed the doll within the confines of the hole and pushed the left over dirt back over the hole, making sure the doll had been covered. Patting the mound a couple of times he rose to an erect stance, “Rest in peace…This burden is yours no longer, let your soul be free.” As he spoke his final word, a sharp wind whipped past his frame, kicking up the long raven black tendrils of his hair and tussling them about in the wind. As the wind faded, he bowed his respects and turned towards the direction he had been previously heading, before a noise caught his attention. Mitsuru’s eyes drifted over to where the noise came from awaiting whoever or whatever it was to show itself.
Kyi - July 28, 2005 11:56 AM (GMT)
Kyi hit the floor with a loud thump, she had just fallen off of the wall she was perched on "Ouch" she moaned rubbing her side. She stood up and looked around, she had slept here the night before, one thing about having no home was that you slept where ever you could.
She spotted a man shew as going to walk up to him and speak but then decided not to she sat back down on the wall and stared into space, her animal familer Trig nuzzled at her arm she petted him softly. Lonelyness she had become acustom to but her heart still ached for her home. She let out a heavy sigh.
She started to wonder what had happened to the man he looked sad, upset even, but she still didn't move she wasn't good at offering sypathy to people.
Alezra - July 29, 2005 11:14 AM (GMT)
Pillar after broken pillar she jumped across, high above the ground and well balanced, the feel of rough stone beneath her bare feet kept her alert. Feline tail lashed from side to side to keep her balance, and her mixmatched wings were ready to unfurl sheould she misstep. Alezra was rather unaccustomed to this new form, but she manged alright she supposed. It was hard to frequent the more 'civilized' places however. But her animalistic mind was on other things now, things like surviving and figuring out where her next meal would come from. Alezra wasn't really hungry now though, as she'd just gotten back from a little hunt in the nearby wilderness. As per usual she left the remains of the buck she'd spent all night tracking, for the various scavangers to take as their own meal. It was the only way Alezra knew, the way of nature.
The young chimera suddenly paused in her steps, and with the still weight upon a crumbled pillar it fell apart, with a small jump Alezra unfurled her wings and hovered above the now falling stone structre. Her ears flattened against her head in animalistic fashion. She'd made too much noise, which instict told was not a good thing to let happen. There was no telling what sort of creatures lurked about this palce. Of course Alezra was unafriad, being what she was...it was enoguh to help her be less-fearful than most. All she had was instict.
She sniffed the air, catching only a small variety of scents. One was soemtihng somewhat familiar, drow, a race she'd ran across before in both good and bad events. The other was less familiar; something she couldn't place at the current point in time. A soft growl arose in her throat, but she calmed herself and set her feet back onto a more sturdy pillar to walk upon.
Stirling - July 30, 2005 05:15 AM (GMT)
A half-Drow lay asleep in the middle of a large bowl atop a pillar. This pillar was surrounded by a low wall, and used to be the fountain for the city. But now all it was was a resting place for, as was said, a Half-Drow.
His head was lolling against the rim of the bowl, hanging awkwardly. A little quivver from his ear was all the tell that he had picked up something. Slowly his black haired head rose, staring out along one of the broken roads. At the end of it stood a tall crimson figure, doing something he couldn't see.
Stirling sat up, rubbing any traces of sleep from his eyes, and picked up his shortbow from it's resting place at his feet.
"What have we got here, then?"
Antagonistic Vagabond - July 30, 2005 07:40 AM (GMT)
Mitsuru’s eyes drifted along the surroundings before landing upon the woman as she took a standing position. For a moment he studied her in the distance, trying to find any reason in which to take the woman as a threat, but finding none. Suddenly a loud crash took his attention away from the woman and towards the new pile of rubble off a couple yards from him. His crimson hues traced the thick cloud of dust that hung ominously over the rubble, trying his best to spot what may have caused it, but even as the dust had settled he still found no visible cause. Pushing off from his right foot, his frame ascended forward and towards the fallen pillar. As he came within a few yards of it, he slowed to a near halt, taking a couple minutes to study his surroundings once more. His eyes quickly shifted over to his far left as he heard a low growling noise come from the other side of the rubble. Muttering quietly to himself, his attention turned back to the woman now only a little bit off to his right, before speaking in a dry tone, “Keep your eyes open, it could be hungry and I may not be able to help you.” His eyes strayed from her and back to the direction where the growls had come from, “Besides, how long have you been there?”

Apon hearing a loud crash and seeing the figure move over to the dust cloud, the Half-Drow's curiousity was raised. He climbed down out of the bowl and padded swiftly over to some cover.
Crouching behind it, he chanced a quick peek at the mysterious being. He looked strange enough. Aparently it was talking, but Stirling couldn't hear. So, risking the movement, he sidled along closer, keeping below the line of a broken wall.
Alezra - August 1, 2005 07:42 AM (GMT)
Her ears twitched at too many voices, as Alezra continued to leap from pillar to pillar. She stopped then, noticing how obvious her presence had become. Ah well, nothing to be done about that now. She made her way over to the pair she could see, and crouched upon one pillar. Her wings folded against her back, and her tails trailed down the opposite side of the pillar. Her ears flicked, as she peered through the darkness at the drow and the other person. Her head curiously tilted to one side as the girl heard footsteps off to her right. "I won't hurt nobody..." She said softly, slighlty defensive at the assumption. Alezra never hurt anyone, with the exception of defense, of course.
Kyi - August 2, 2005 10:08 AM (GMT)
"A while" Kyi replied to the tall male"And i don't need protecting" she added his comment about helping her had rattled her somewhat, Kyi looked at the chimeria "Hi" She said with a small wave "I'm kyi".
Kyi sat on a thick brick wall keeping both of them in her view. She thoguht the Chimeria looked harmless and wasn't a threat, but she ahd her doubts about the man, She had heard his troubled speech and he had given earlier and the sorrow that had been etched into hiis face then.
she wasn't sure how much she could trust him. She crossed her legs on the wall and simply watched the others, waiting for them to do something.
