Title: Trying to Survive
Ariella - July 27, 2005 04:51 AM (GMT)
Ariella came upon a building with deep, purple windows. Lanterns seemed to float outside the walls to illuminate the sign that read, “The Purple Lantern Tavern”. It was the perfect place for her to stop. She tucked her wings in and threw a cloak over them. It distorted her figure but she guessed many people here wouldn’t care enough to even acknowledge her presence. She pushed open the doors with soft hands that had never felt labor. The door was rough beneath her touch and she was glad to be rid of it as she stepped across the threshold of the tavern. The place was quiet although it was filled with people of all different races. She tried to keep her eyes low so she wouldn’t stare at the customers. She walked to a table in the back and sat down. All she had with her was her cloak and katana. She hoped she wouldn’t encounter trouble.
She waved the barmaid down and ordered ale in a tall wooden cup. Without a glance to her, the woman wrote it down and quickly filled her order. Ariella had only a little money she had taken from her father’s possessions after he was killed. She knew she’d have to get a job soon or learn the art of thievery. Many would think one that was a descendant of an angel wouldn’t ever think of such a thing. But she was also part human, thanks to good ole dad, and that told her such things were okay. She was a highly judgmental person and yet felt that she shouldn’t be judged. Her manner was a little haughty too for she had been raised in a world of material wealth. But such things were just how she had been raised. Now she had been abandoned by her angelic mother who went back to the higher planes to ‘full-fill her destiny’ as she told it. Her father had been murdered and she was on the run.
Pheonix - July 29, 2005 10:31 AM (GMT)
Pheonix yawned, as she made her way through the streets and took shortcuts along rooftops and alleyways. Her ears ever twitched from side to side, at the various noises and footsteps of passerby. She had no plans as to where she was going or why she was in this city. All she knew was that she was bored, and ....restless. The mixed breed was never able to stand around still for very long, and if anything her biggest fault was her spontainious nature. She always just did, and never paused to think about the consequences of her actions. Still, she was a rather nice person. Odd, but nice.
Using her wings to give herself a bit of lift up onto the roof of some tavern or other, she unconciously sniffed at the air. The scent was fmailiar, as she'd been in the Purple Lantern on a few occasions. Seeming up to a bit of nostalgia she wlkaed off the gutter and landed in the streets below; just at the tavern door. Tossing her jacket about her shoulders she strode inside, and to the bar. Clapping a hand onto the wooden surface she slid over a few coins for a drink. And in waiting for it to arrive she glanced about. Her ears flicked in one direction at catching a soemwhat familiar scent in the air. It reminded her somewhat of her own mixed nature. Something partially angelic was just beside her. Then again there was always some not-so-usual being in Imythess. However Pheonix was unable to simply ignore, and inclined her head slightly in the celestial's general direction. "Heeeeya! Yer knew here ain't cha?" She smiled, friendly, though it showed off a hint of animalistic fang before vanishing.
Kyi - July 29, 2005 11:56 AM (GMT)
Kyi's soft pale hands touched the strong oak wood as she opened the door to the tavern slowly, She had decided she was in need of a rest, she had traveled for days with little sleep, food or drink, she needed a few hours rest, she didn't know where she was traveling too. Walking through the room she made her way to the bar quickly.
She sat on a hard wooden bar stool at the bar and ordered a wooden cup of fruity wine. She counted out her money and gave it to the barkeeper.
Sipping the drink, it was then that she had a look at the people spotting two people talking at a table she watched them from afar, one was angelic the other seemed to be of mixed breed. For some reason they had captured her attention she felt drawn to them.
Ariella - July 30, 2005 06:31 PM (GMT)
Ariella was startled that the creature had talked to her. "Uh yes I am new. My name is Ariella." She wondered if it was a bad thing to give her name but the creature seemed to have an air of something familiar. She wasn't sure what though so she didn't say anything about it. Looking around, she noticed someone watching them. It made her uncomfortable and she wondered if it were a trap. She continued to sip her ale and kept her eyes ahead. Her wings itched uncomfortable under her cloak and she wished more than anything that she could just unfold them. But she didn't want to draw attention to herself. She didn't want them to know what she was. It seemed as if the one beside her already knew though. She wasn't sure how that was possible.
Kyi - August 2, 2005 10:19 AM (GMT)
Kyi noticed the girl look at her, she quickly turned back to the bar, she didn't want to be noticed much, she had decided to speak to them in a while, she didn't know what she was going to say to them or anything she just felt a need to speak to them, it was a feeling she was unsure of.
Finishing her drink, she ordered another.
Pheonix - September 2, 2005 05:51 AM (GMT)
"Well, I'm Pheonix. Pheonix Emerson." She nodded to the bar tender as the drink she'd ordered was slid over to her. "Always nice to see new faces around here...I think so anyways." Pheonix shrugged, as she tossed her jacket onto the back of her chair and leaned one arm against the bar. Her other hand reached for her drink, as she peered over it to look around the room. If there was anyone to draw attention ,it was Pheonix. She had a knack for getting into trouble...and getting right back out of it. Sipping her drink for awhile she finally set it back down. Noticing the other's nervous glances Pheonix shrugged again before saying. "Oh hey, if you don't want to talk than just ignore me." She laughed slightly, as Pheonix knew how odd a person she was. Of course she didn't care, as being unique was just her way.
