Title: Welcoming The Dark
Description: *Rowen* [P]

Lilith - July 22, 2005 03:49 AM (GMT)
Lilith breathed the darkness into her lungs. Her seemingly nonexistent dark side was beginning to spark. She had been of neutral alignment for too many years. It was time for her to choose one side or the other. She figured she would explore both and figure what was really in her soul. Her whole life had been spent in denial. She knew a darker part of her existed but she had been too afraid to explore it. But she wasn't afraid anymore.

The moon could not be seen in this part of the Underdark. It was safer to be in Lith My’ather than other towns of the ‘Darkness’ as the Underdark was commonly referred to. Here a person could indulge in any pleasures the mind could create and be free of prosecution. This was a good thing and a bad thing at the same time. Lilith wasn’t here for that reason though. She was here to meet new people and to learn the trades of the darker side of life.

One thing Lilith liked about the town was they didn’t import and export slaves. In fact, slavery was extremely prohibited. It seemed to be the one strictly enforced law of the place. Lilith thought of all this as she walked the darkened streets. She tried not to look left or right so she wouldn’t catch the eye of a stranger up to no good until she was safely inside a tavern where artificial light would allow her to scan the patrons and choose one to safely talk with.

Covered in her cloak so her dark colored hair and silver eyes would not show, she approached the big wooden doors of a common tavern. It held no other words except “Tavern” in small letters cut into the wood above the door. Showing no emotion, she pushed the doors open and scanned quickly around. No one looked her direction and that made her feel more comforted. She choose a small booth in a corner where the light was dim so she wouldn’t be noticed. Placing her bag beside her, she reached her hand slowly into the bag and withdrew her dagger. If someone made an unwanted pass at her, she’d be ready.

Rowen - July 22, 2005 04:40 AM (GMT)
Rowen walks in the tavern as he did for days his wings tucked under his cape walks to a stool and sits on it he looks around for any one that looked out of place. Then he looks over and sees some one with a lighter aura. He walks over to her.” We don’t see many like you here.” Looking at the other dark creatures and people in the tavern. He extends one long pail bat like wing to stretch it.” It might not be too safe for some one like you. Looking into her neck remembering he was quite hungry. Stopping his want he looks to the bar tender and waves at him. The almost dead looking bartender pores him a thick glass of what looked to be blood and quickly downs it .” here if you need some where to go I know of some where that you can be safe. I really don’t want there to be any deaths at this tavern it is so hard to stop things like this.” He looks around and sits next to her.” But wile we are here what brings you here?”

Lilith - July 22, 2005 05:12 AM (GMT)
Lilith looked warily at the creature that approached her. She immediately sensed his lust for blood and took him to be a vampire. Seeing his bat-like wing reinforced the thought. She listened while his deep voice spoke of death. Then he sat beside her. She felt uncomfortable being so close to an undead, but did not show it. Emotions were a tricky thing and the best thing to do was to hide them as well as one could.

Turning her cold silver eyes towards him, she spoke softly. "What makes you think I don't have some where to be? I may seem fragile, but that is to my advantage. I am quite the ferocious one.” She didn’t want to her the cold laughter that would surely be emitted from this creature’s throat so she continued. “Why I am here is none of your business but I will tell you anyways.” She pushed her hood down so he could see her face. “I came in search of…conversation. I would like to speak with someone who has seen the dark side and to find out if it is a rewarding experience. I don't suppose you would know someone of that description?”

She studied his handsome face. She didn’t want his appearance to be a factor in her trust in him. She really wanted to be distant from him, but found herself wondering what it’d be like to be held in his arms. She shook her head trying to shake off the Vampire pheromones he was emitting. She knew they were sneaky creatures and she had adverted them for all her years. She only knew of them from what others told her and what she read. Leery of him, she broke eye contact and concentrated on the empty table in front of her.

Rowen - July 22, 2005 05:41 AM (GMT)
Rowen looks to her as she looks away.” Hahaha you look away from me are you scared that I might cast my spell on you.” He says in a deep almost lifeless voice.” You need not worry I am not one of the vampires you read from in the books or hear of yes we have a bad reputation for being heartless killers and for most of us it is true but not I.” looking at her deeply trying to figure what she is thinking.” And I am guessing that you won’t trust me for a wile that is ok.” I know of some people you can talk about that I know some first hand that it does reword well. Dead men tell no tells but the dead can still be a powerful friend. If you wish to know more about it we need to go talk to the old necromancers. They are quite wise of the dark powers.” He raises his hand and a small pick black ball forms in his hand.” and soon darkness will be your friend.” He smiles a dark smile.” Just a small trick that the wise ones taught me.” He looks over at her intrigued by what happens behind her glowing eyes .

Lilith - July 22, 2005 05:56 AM (GMT)
Lilith was irritated at his calm demeanor. She didn't like to be laughed at and anger flashed through her eyes. She breathed deeply so she wouldn't react and listened to the rest of his talk. He said he wasn't a killer, but she didn't trust that. She felt a deep yearning to trust every word, but she would be more careful than that. She liked the way he talked. His voice was smooth and held the faintest hint of an accent. She briefly wondered where he was from, but that was for talk later one. Right now, she was busy listening to him speak of Necromancers. She wasn't sure if that was where she wanted to go. But she had no agenda. Stop in to talk to his friends and perhaps she would learn something. But first, she wanted a drink of Faerie Spirits.

She hailed the bartender and he reluctantly came over. She gave him her order and in a few moments, he was back with it. She sipped it slowly and it felt good to her stomach. It was warming and in this cold weather, it felt perfect. "I would like to see these friends of yours. I guess you would have to go in the night, but tonight I am much too tired. I have been traveling for awhile now. Do you know where I might rest? I would be willing to pay you for a safe house. If you trick me, I will slit your throat." All hint of amusement had died from her voice as she said the last.

Rowen - July 22, 2005 05:14 PM (GMT)
Rowen looks at her lessening to her breathing. She must have came a long way to be this tired he thinks to himself. He wonders where she might be from but disregards it.” Yes you do need sleep. You must keep your strength up. I will take you to a safe house and guard you myself I need no pay for that.” H looks to the bar tender and waves one more of his thick crimson drink.” You need not worry about having to kill me I will do you no harm and wile I watch over you nether will any one ells.” He stands up and throws open his wings letting out a loud deep noise like a yawn. The things in the tavern all looked to him quickly and he tucks his wings under his cloak.” I bore of this place are you read to leave to a place where you may rest and be safe.” He extends his cold soft pale hand for her to grab. He looks into her eyes deeply as if to see into her very soul.” Here we must take our leave.” He finishes his drink and flashes a smile that showed his fangs.

Lilith - July 22, 2005 05:58 PM (GMT)
Lilith did not understand why he was being so friendly. She thought he must have a hidden agenda to warm so quickly to a stranger. She did not like the way he stared into her silver eyes. It made her extremely uncomfortable. She really didn't want to touch his hand for she knew it would be cold and then the reality of his death would be strong. But she didn't feel any sense of foreboding which was odd. Deciding she could always stake him if the time arose, she slowly placed her warm hand into his cold one. She tried not to cringe. "I am...grateful for your kindness. I would think someone of your race would not be so ready to offer companionship." She slide out of the booth as she talked, avoiding his soulless eyes. With the other hand, she grabbed her bag and slipped it over her shoulder. She prayed she was doing the right thing. She knew for sure that she didn't want to sleep with him silently watching over her. It made her shiver just to think of that. She realized the sun would be up soon and he would probably have to find darkness so he could sleep until the night.

Rowen - July 22, 2005 06:43 PM (GMT)
Rowen walked out of the tavern into the fogy dark night and takes a deep breath.” What a beautiful night.” he takes a few more steps and looks back at her.” Here is where I must ask you to trust me. We shall fly to where you will be safe. All I ask is that you trust me not to drop you.” He wraps his arms around her wastes” hold on.” He says with a smile and he bends his knees throws open his wings and jumps into the night sky heading away from the city . he sees where he will land there is an open field near this small house but he rounds the place a few times to see if there might be any one or anything that might be out to get them.

Lilith - July 22, 2005 06:53 PM (GMT)
Lilith didn't have time to have a say in the matter. She grimaced as he put his arms around her and lifted her as if she weighed no more than a rabbit. The night was beautiful, although it was slightly chilly. The moon was half-shaped with stars surrounding it as if to protect it. She was glad she hadn't taken off her cloak as the wind ruffled her hair and made her shiver. He was no warmer, and she disliked that. If she were to be this close to someone, they should at least have warmth to give. But soon she found herself relaxing and allowing him to lead her to their destination.

Looking down, she saw where he intended to go. They circled the place many times and it was making her dizzy. She had never relinquished full power of herself to anyone and it was unnerving. She found herself wishing to snuggle under a blanket in a nice warm bed. Sighing, she waited for him to be assured that no one was going to attack them and that it was safe to fly down.

Rowen - July 22, 2005 07:20 PM (GMT)
Rowen sees that no one was there and descends quickly and with a few flaps of his powerful wings he slowed them to a stop and put her down. He then folded his wings under his cloak.” Here we are my lady a nice safe place.” He walks in the house looking around to see if any one had been in it.” I know it is what you are used to but it is what I have for now.” He unties his cloak and sets it on the ground.” There is a bed over there.” He points to a dimly lit room with a bed.” I shall sleep in another room unless you wish me to sleep in the room with you I shall sleep in the floor if you wish me to sleep in the room with you.” He then takes off his shirt and puts on another lighter shirt and stretches letting his wings fully extend and relaxes. He wonders if his presence is making her uneasy he once agent looks into her eyes. What could be going on behind those eyes? He thinks to himself why is he so intrigued by her eyes.

Lilith - July 22, 2005 07:44 PM (GMT)
Lilith had followed the sounds of his voice into the small house. He was wrong when he assumed she wasn't used to such places. In fact, she normally slept outside. She had been in all types of Inns throughout Imythess, although she'd never had her own house. It was extremely small, but it was perfect for her. She watched him take his shirt off, her eyes trained along the skin of his stomach. She was beginning to trust him, little by little. Her stomach rumbled and she recalled that she hadn't eaten in awhile. "If you don't mind, I would like to eat some food first. Don't worry, I have rations in my bag." She quickly took off her cloak, revealing a silver gown beneath it. The only jewelry she had on was a necklace she had received from a friend. It was simply a beaded necklace, but it was comforting to her.

She walked over to the bed and put her bag on top of it. Sifting through it, she found the bread and cheese and looked around for a place to lay it. Seeing none, and figuring he hand no plates, she sat on the bed and placed them in her lap. She ate slowly and wondered if he had anything to drink. She figured he probably didn't have anything other than stored blood so she took out her small tin cup and placed it on the ground. She stopped eating and said an incantation over the cup. Soon water poured from her hands into the cup. It was a spell she had learned and it came in handy. She felt his eyes on her and it made her uneasy. Looking up, she spoke, "I would rather you stayed in another room. I can guarantee I will be fine alone." She didn't want to offend him, but she didn't want him watching her sleep either.

Rowen - July 22, 2005 07:55 PM (GMT)
Rowen looks at her with wide eyes as she takes off her cloak and looks away thinking such beauty.” If you wish to sleep alone then you shall.” And he bows and walks t the other room and lays on the bed. Thinking to himself I probably shouldn’t have let my jaw drop when her cloak did but oh well. He pulls some covers over himself and lays there for wile lessening for anything that might be wrong. Hearing nothing he senses the sun coming up. Felling it hard to stay away her feels the comforting darkness of sleep over come him. He only remember his last thought being wow such beauty.

Lilith - July 22, 2005 08:32 PM (GMT)
Lilith watched him bow. She was grateful that he was going to respect her request. When she felt full enough of bread, water, and cheese, she packed the contents back into her bag. She stayed up a while longer, listening to nothing in particular. She felt that dawn was nearing and she hadn't even slept yet. She pulled the covers back and slipped into bed. She had thrown her bag onto the floor, but kept it within arm's length in case she needed her weapons. She had slipped the dagger beneath the feather pillow that her head rested upon. Soon she felt the ease of sleep slip over her and she shut her eyes to embrace the darkness.
--

No sunlight streamed in the windows of the small house. So Lilith awoke to the same darkness she'd fallen asleep to. She wanted to know what time it was so she slipped into her boots and walked towards the door. Yawning, she pushed it open and saw that the sun was high in the sky. She knew it must be about three hours past noon and felt silly that she'd slept so long. She shut the door and walked into what she thought would be a kitchen. The walls were blank and she felt the place was quite bland. She thought she might take a walk around and pick some flowers to put into a vase just to decorate the place a little.

She got the nerve to peek in on the man and she realized they hadn't even exchanged names. She shrugged. Going back to her small room, she grabbed her bag and left the house. She would take a long walk and perhaps go into town for dinner. Night fall would come in about 4 hours so she didn't have long to check up on the mystery man she was staying with. She figured she'd go into town and inquire about him to the bartender she had seen last night.
--

She'd spent most of the day talking to people of the town and still she had found out nothing about the vampire. The bartender had just said he frequently visited the place and ordered the same drink every time. So she had gone back to the cottage. After gathering flowers and placing them in an empty glass, she waited for night in the small room.

Rowen - July 22, 2005 09:07 PM (GMT)
Rowen awakes to the smell of his guest and a different one, one that he wasn’t used to. He opens his door to see her and a pleasant surprise flowers.” Hello my lady thank you for adding to my humble house.” And he smiles at her.” I hope you sleep well and didn’t get to board.” he changes to his night clothes and gets ready to go out.” Do you think that you are ready to go see the wise ones about the ascension tonight? Wile opening a shelf and getting out a small dagger. He starts thinking I wonder if they will help her out. They owe this to me for doing there dirty work. He then ties his cloak around him and tucks his wings under it and runs his hands in his hair thinking I don’t even know the name of the one I am bringing to them she might be there to kill them but I feel nothing and they shall see her true reasons for being there I hope for her sake that they are not to harm them.” May I ask your name I am Rowen?

Lilith - July 22, 2005 09:24 PM (GMT)
She didn’t have to wait long for him to arise. As soon as darkness speckled the sky, he was stirring around. He commented on the flowers which made her surprisingly feel happy. “I am glad you like the flowers. I found them growing around your ‘humble’ house. I am ready to see them and my name is Lilith.” Rowen was an interesting name. She wondered if it meant anything special. She had changed into a ruby colored gown and had cleaned her cloak. She had even gone as far as to put her hair up into a messy bun. Her wings were bright and sparkling, ready to enter the night world again.

It wasn’t cold outside so Lilith decided not to talk her cloak. She hoped she wasn’t making a mistake. She also left all weapons in her bag, for fear the ‘wise ones’, as Rowen called them, would detect such a thing and perhaps start something she didn’t want to have to get into. She turned to him and asked, “So how do you suppose we’ll get into the temple of the wise ones?” She figured that was where he intended to go since it was the only temple in town. It was also the most distinguished one. She had searched the town that day and knew it well. She needed the information in case she needed to hide or became lost. “I won’t be needing your wings this time. I know where we are going.” She smiled slightly.

Rowen - July 22, 2005 09:57 PM (GMT)
Rowen looks to her in her new red clothes.” You look stunning I must say.” Then he opens the door and takes another deep breath closing his eyes as if to take in the darkness.” The wise ones are the ones who raised me and taught me all I know of the dark powers. They should let me in and you as a favor.” Wondering if he should speak of his past but thinking it better not to since she had not asked.” They will be able to tell what you are truly wanting there I only hope you don’t wish to do anything rash wile you are there.” He then walks outside and spreads his wings and gets down with his knees bent and puts his hands on the ground perks his ears up to lessen for the winds as they change quickly wile in flight.” If you are ready to go the wind is perfect for now.” Then the flaps his wings once and jumps into the air and hovers there for a wile to wait for her to join him and then they would be off to see the wise ones and to get her help he hoped he also hoped that he would not have to pay them back for this with another deed.

Lilith - July 22, 2005 10:10 PM (GMT)
She blushed at his compliment. “Thank you.” She followed him outside just in time to see him crouch down and his ears to perk. She thought he looked awfully funny and had to bite her tongue to keep from laughing. “I hope this doesn’t cost you anything…” But he was already in the air. She flapped her wings, picked up enough air to lift off, and within seconds she was beside him. “Lead the way.” She took the time to stare at his pallid complexion. He was quite the handsome guy. It wasn’t the first time she had thought so, but now she felt secure enough to admit it without feeling guilty in some way.

She thought about the dark side and wondered if it was something she really wanted to join. Would it mean murder, lust, and temptation? She just wasn’t ready to give in to such things. Hopefully the elders would be able to tell her of the advantages to being on the dark side. Maybe it wouldn’t be too bad. All she knew was she had to get down to the reason why she felt this tugging at her soul to fall deep into darkness. She tried to concentrate on what lay before them instead of going over the pros and cons of her current position.

Rowen - July 22, 2005 10:43 PM (GMT)
Rowen as they fly he looks back at her and found himself attracted to her strangely he is a vampire he shouldn’t fell like this for a fairy but he does feel something for her.” We are almost there Lilith.” He looks down to the familiar doors of his old home. Here it is my lady.” He aims striate towards the ground then pulls up flapping his mighty wings and stops almost instantly. He then walks to the doors and speaks some words in another language and the doors swung open the let out the smell of grave soil and rotting flesh. He then knells and looks at Lilith as if to do the same.” Masters of old I have come to speak with you.” It looked like he was speaking into pure darkness. Then a loud deep rumble emits from the darkness. Who is this that is with you my chilled she isn’t from here.” A wind was crated form the darkness as the wise ones spoke.” She is a faire named Lilith she means you no harm my masters of old.” There were a silence and a dark aura creped out of the doors and went to her. “Why do you say things we already know what is her reason for coming here.” The darkness said once agene. “She wishes for knowledge of our way of life bout good and bad I have told her what I have been taught but you the wises ones can tell her more.” He said with some strong emotion and thinking doesn’t make her do what I have been made to do. The darkness spoke once more. “You may enter my chambers my son and Lilith.” Then torches started to light with a black flame.” lets go,” and he extends his hand for her to grab it and he stands

Lilith - July 22, 2005 11:01 PM (GMT)
Lilith landed softly beside him and watched as he spoke in a foreign language. It seemed to be some sort of password. Then he kneeled and she imitated him. She bowed her head to the ground and listened closely as he spoke. The voice was a frightening one. She could feel power pulsating from the very building and when the black aura enclosed her, she felt her soul being tugged at. She couldn't breathe, the temptation was so great. And then it was gone. The master gave them permission to enter and Lilith was eager to meet him. She didn't take Rowen's hand as she walked right by him. She didn't need for him to make her look weak. She was a very powerful faerie and she detested the way Rowen seemed to think she was fragile.

Walking into the dark building, she could feel a cold drift flow through her. Goosebumps covered her flesh and she shivered. There seemed to be light coming from the center so she continued to walk towards it. The closer she got though, the further it seemed. It was making her paranoid so she stopped and waited for Rowen to take the lead. She figured he knew his way around and she didn't want to enter some kind of trap. When that thought crossed her mind, she realized she had been quite ignorant. Rowen could be leading her to her death. Perhaps she was some sort of sacrifice. Suddenly the building felt like a cage. Was she walking towards her death?

Rowen - July 22, 2005 11:23 PM (GMT)
Rowen walked in front of her understanding not wanting to take his hand they walked down the hall for what seemed for miles. The room they walked in was cold not a natural cold a cold that went to the sole.” We are almost in his presents.” They walked tot eh back of a large stone chare “wait here for a second.” he walked around the chare and spoke quietly in what sounded like another language. Then an old looking man lifted from the chare and instead of walking he floated on black breeze. Then Rowen said. “Here is the one that wishes to talk to you.” The old necromancer opened his death black eyes as if he is looking into her sole.” Ask what you wish to know and I will tell you what can be told.” Said the old man. Rowen went next to Lilith and kneels.

Lilith - July 22, 2005 11:42 PM (GMT)
What do I wish to know? What do I expect for him to tell me? She thought quickly. Her first question would be the most obvious. "Is the darkness rewarding and free from prosecution if taught the art of silence and stealth?" She glanced over at Rowen who was kneeling again. She didn't think she had to get on the dirty floor again so she stood upright and stared into the old man's eyes. In her country, it was a sign of respect to stare in one's eyes. But it could be taken as if she didn't fear him. That could end badly. But she still didn't want to seem as if this meeting were a small one. So she continued to stare and to wait for his response.

Rowen - July 23, 2005 12:01 AM (GMT)
Rowen looks to his old master and the old man answers the question. “I would like to say yes to that but as any there will always be persecution. But with us people will think and stray and not verbally or physically harm you and if they try we will teach you ways to fight with the spirits of the dead they will be your allies I shall show you some of the powers of the dark.” He closes his eyes then opens them with a dark green glow a corps that was in the corner stands up and runs to the old mans side.” This worrier will fight till he is no more.” Then the corps falls agene.” This is the power that you will have you will also be able to manipulate the dark and shadows.” As he says this Rowen disappears in a wall of shadows and comes back at her side. Rowen says.” This is the powers of our way of life do you have any more questions for the wise one.”

Lilith - July 23, 2005 12:15 AM (GMT)
Lilith thought hard about her next question. She didn't want to take up alot of the master's time because she figured he had more to do than to talk to a little faerie about the evil side. "Murder, death, darkness...these are the things I would be living with?" She thought of how much she actually loved life. She loved brilliant colors, outdoor life, animals, sunsets. Would this be the things she would be giving up? She didn't think she could do that. But maybe there was more to it. Maybe you didn't have to be completely evil or completely good. Was there an in between? She started to think that she had made a mistake. But she had lived long enough in the light of good. It was beginning to bore her.

Rowen - July 23, 2005 12:37 AM (GMT)
Rowen walks back to the master’s side. And the master says yes you will you can be in the light all you want but your powers over darkness will be useless for thee undead minions and the use of the dead souls you will need to kill and be in darkness. But there are many good things that will come out of you joining us respect the gods of the undead are active and show themselves much.” The old man looks deeply into her.” you are troubled about this conversation. Come back to me in another day and I will train you or give you more time to think.” Rowen walks to Lilith we must now go he must rest.” Then he whispers.” You did great today lets go back to town ill buy you dinner.”

Lilith - July 23, 2005 01:28 AM (GMT)
Lilith listened to every word the old master spoke. She didn't think she could kill in cold blood. "I will be back tomorrow, and thank you." She looked at Rowen and whispered, "I'm not a child. You don't need to tell me when I've done bad and good." She snapped harshly at him and felt a little bad about it. She just felt like he was treating her like a child. She had just met him yesterday but he was acting as if he owned her. It was then that she remember vampires had companions called shadows. No other vampire could touch another’s shadow without a fight erupting. So it seemed as if Rowen was trying to make her his shadow. Well she definitely would not be that. She lead the way out, itching to get back into fresh air.

Rowen - July 23, 2005 01:51 AM (GMT)
Rowen followed her out and stoped” I am sorry for the way I have treated you I know not how to act or show how I feel.”. And he looked down.” I don’t know how to feel.” He looked at her and put on a fake smile and said.” Well how about dinner my lady still on me. You chose where to eat.” And he opens his wings and gets back in his pre flight stance and lessens to the wind then stands up.” I feel I have talked down to you and if so I haven’t mint to do that to you. And then he jumps and spreads his winds and hovers waiting for her to join him in the air.

Lilith - July 23, 2005 02:04 AM (GMT)
She was glad he appologized to her. It made her feel better to know that he understood what he was doing. She didn't get to say she was also sorry though. He had already flown a few feet in the air and was waiting for her to join him. She lifted gently off and was next to him. "How about that nice diner I saw in town?" She smiled the first real smile since she'd been with him. "And I want to thank you for taking me to your master. With the way the world is today, it's hard for me to trust people." She hoped he understood. She wanted to be friends with him and she really wished she could repay him for being so kind. She thought he might get hurt one day and maybe she'd be there to heal him. She wasn't sure how the undead healed and she hoped she could be of help.

Rowen - July 23, 2005 02:27 AM (GMT)
Rowen smiled at her thanks.” And thank you for letting me stay in your company.” He says with a toothy smile “yes that is a nice diner I’ve only been there once before.” He started to fly towards the diner. He started to think would she join us would she let us teach her the way of the shadow. It would be nice to have a training partner he just shook off these thoughts of his and started to think about the night sky and how it was so cold out side now he evened with her flight and took off his cloak.” Here take this it is a cold night even for a cold one like me.” And handed it to her once agene noticing how stunning she looked in her red cloths. He started to slow and landed on the ground outside of diner.

Lilith - July 23, 2005 02:49 AM (GMT)
She followed alongside him until they reached the diner. She had taken his cloak and wrapped it tightly around herself. It was warm and it held Rowen's scent which was quite a nice one. She landed beside him in front of the dimly lit diner. She realized alot of the places around the town were always pretty dark. She supposed that's the way the residents liked it. She pushed the door open and looked around. It wasn't a fancy place. The walls were bare and few people were in there. She supposed they were all at the local tavern getting drunk. No one came to ask where they'd like to be seated, so she walked to a booth in the back. Menus were already on the tables so she sat down and looked them over. The place had just about whatever someone could want. Lilith looked at Rowen and remembered he'd just be drinking blood. She didn't even think he could eat real food. The thought made her queasy, but she didn't want to be impolite. "Hmm...it all looks good. I might just get the grilled chicken and mashed potatoes. I do hope they have faerie spirits." She scanned the menu, but didn't see it so she decided she'd order red wine.

Rowen - July 23, 2005 03:04 AM (GMT)
Rowen smiled at her.” you have good taste.” And he put down his menu and looked at her.” It has been an interesting night I think it is the first time I have ever brought any one to the wise one he usually doesn’t like seeing others than his disciples. You are quite lucky and also quite beautiful.” Water comes over and asks for what we will be drinking.” We will have a bottle of your finest red wine.” And smiles at Lilith. The man brings back there red wine.” thank you sir. He then pores two glasses of wine.” How about a toast. To us and our new friend ship.

Lilith - July 23, 2005 03:17 AM (GMT)
Lilith raised her glass and toasted to friendship. She took a sip of the sweet, red wine and it tasted delicious. It warmed her stomach and she slipped out of the cloak. The waiter was still standing there waiting for her order so she told her. She wrote it down on a little pad of paper and turned towards Rowen. Lilith wondered if he would order something. She continued to sip on her wine and found herself in a better mood. She was even starting to warm up to Rowen. She thought they'd be good friends as long as he didn't rob or try to kill her. And she would have to make it clear she wasn't going to let him feed off her. If that ever happened, he would start seeing her as a slave instead of as an equal.

Rowen - July 23, 2005 03:34 AM (GMT)
Rowen took a sip of the red wine.” I will have what she is having.” He looked to her.” most people don’t know that we eat food blood is just for life and energy.” He says with a smile.” He looks around the dimly lit almost romantic diner. There were lovers there family and one man on a knee probably proposing. He thinks what a feeble thing between humans they live for no time at all and are so fragile and love they know nothing of It the immortals know love they know nothing of leaving a loved one. Then he looks back to Lilith. “so tell me about yourself I know so little of you”

Lilith - July 23, 2005 03:53 AM (GMT)
She was glad to find out he ate regular food. "Well I'm one hundred and twenty-one years old. I've lived a long life. I have no family. They all died well before me. I rather not speak of that now though." She fiddled with her glass trying to avoid his eyes. "Jasper, my umbra, is my closest friend. She's with her real family now though. I didn't want her to watch me go through this. She's all I have now." She turned her eyes downward. "I've traveled all through Imythess and have made some interesting friends. I'm even friends with some Gods and Goddesses!" She laughed. "They act just like normal people if you can believe it." Her eyes had become cloudy as she continued. "I'm tired of being alone. I need companionship. I've come close to some men, but things have always ended wrong. One even fell to the evil side. It's kind of ironic when you think of it. Knowing what it did to him, yet here I am inquiring about it. You'd think I would have better sense." She lifted her gaze into his dark eyes. Then she took her glass and gulped down the rest of the wine in it.

Rowen - July 23, 2005 04:22 AM (GMT)
Rowen puts his hand on her chin “hey its ok I am here now and I know hat doesn’t mean to much to be with a vampire but hey at least you know I wont die I am dead.” He says jokingly trying the cheer her up.” You should have no problem finding some one look at you.” he started to think maybe I could be her companion a vampire and a faire why not he thought.” you know I have had a lot of the same things just me iv never had any one being born a vampire makes it hard to find some one that will lessen to you and befriend you like you have me most think oh he is a vampire he can love or feel anything he can only kill and eat. But we do feel like everything else. Sorry I kind of started to rant there” and he drinks the rest of his wine and pores himself and her some more.

Lilith - July 23, 2005 04:37 AM (GMT)
She realized he was taking what she was saying to heart. He seems to really like me. I hope I haven't lead him on. I just don't think I could date a vampire. It would seem...akward. How can he feel? Does he even have a soul? All these thoughts roamed through her mind as she forced a smile on her face. "I bet it is hard for you. Have you tried to date another vampire?" She tried to make her voice light and hoped he wouldn't take it as offensive. Besides, she'd only known him for two days!

Their food arrived and it smelled wonderful. She inhaled the aroma and dug her silver fork into the chicken. Using a knife in her right hand, she sliced off a small piece and ate it. Then she sipped her wine realizing she was getting a little tipsy. She scooped up a big pile of potatoe onto her fork and ate that too. It was really delicious. She was glad they had decided to come there. "So tell me more about yourself. Where's your family? Do you have many friends?" She paused eating to listen to his response.

Rowen - July 23, 2005 04:57 AM (GMT)
Rowen takes a bite of chick then stops.” My family is the wise one he razed me I don’t know my true parents. And of friend you are my only one I have been along my hole life just me and master. And of dating I have tried but I have just never found the right one I guess.” He takes some more food and drinks some more.” My path in life has always been a lonely one but I guess it is good for my studies no distractions, but I do wish for some one just a friend would be nice like you.” he smiles” to friends” and takes another drink . and looks off out a window at the night the dark has been my only friend the dark and the dead.

Lilith watched his expressions as he spoke. She thought it must hurt him to never have had friends and it also explained why he was so clingy. How would she explain to him that she'd have to move on from this town in a few days? She was too restless to stay in one place for too long. She didn't think she would find what she was looking for in this town. She hated to leave Rowen but surely he wouldn't want to leave his home town to come with her. It might be good to have someone travel with her, but then again he might get in the way. She tried not to let her expressions show as she brewed over the dilemma. "Well, I'm sorry to hear that you've never had friends. But at least you have one now." She smiled gently and put her hand on top of his.

Rowen - July 25, 2005 11:00 PM (GMT)
Rowen smiles at her as her hand landed atop his.” That I do.” Placing his hand over hers.” Thank our for being so kind and so understanding.” He smiles and looks off into space.” This place bores me you look to have many stories of life and adventures.” He looks into her eyes.” May I join you in your questing be by your side.” He looks back off into space once more .” things here in my home town I have lived here since birth learning training for anything that may happen but because of the watchful eyes of the old one I have never been able to use any of my training. Now I have some one to protect some one I will use all my life fours to help.” He smiles at her and then eats some more of his mashed potatoes and drinks some more.” Well tonight is not for my stories it is for our friendship drink up my lady” then he pores some more red wine in her cup and smiles at her with a gleam of a tear in his eye.

She thought over her words. It seemed as if he could read her mind. That made her feel a little uncomfortable. She'd have to remember to not think so much. She withdrew her hand and continued to eat the delicious food. She sipped her wine and felt herself becoming looser. She did not want to get drunk and have to have him carry her back to the house. She finished the last of the wine in her glass and used a spell to fill it up with water. She blushed at Rowen. "I'm afraid I can't handle my alcohol very well."

She finished her plate and brushed the corners of her mouth with a napkin. "Well that was very good." She reached into her bag looking for some gold. She wanted to pay her portion of the meal since she didn't know if Rowen had any money. That brought up the question of how he made money. She thought that was a personal question that she probably didn't want to know anyways. So she just smiled instead and flipped some coins on top of table.

"Do not worry about paying my half. And if you need to loan some money, I would be happy to give you some. I am one to save my money when I catch a job here and there. Of course I always do mine the legal way. I've been a cook, a horse master, a healer, and many other jobs. In the city of Taras, it's always easy to find a job. In fact, you might like to visit it one day with me..." She left it open for discussion without making it too obvious what she was asking.

Rowen - July 25, 2005 11:54 PM (GMT)
Rowen looked deeply at her.” I would love to come with you. And for the bill I will hear nothing of it I will pay for it.” He reaches down his sleeve and pulls out a small black leather bag with money in it.” Its ok that you can’t take alcohol to well I can always carry you if you need me too.” He said jokingly with a smile and then he paid the water and gave him a tip.” He then stretches out spreading out his wings. He started to wonder was she asking him or was she just saying it to be kind he did kind of get to clingy but he hoped shed understand it.” Well are you ready to go home my tipsy lady.” He smiles at his own words and stands extending his hand. Then he remembered she didn’t like it when he did that but he was worried she might fall if she got up to quickly not knowing how the alcohol might affect her.
