Title: Dual Sword Training
LanceDragoon - December 9, 2003 01:30 AM (GMT)
Lance looked around the Academy of Arms, having been here once before...it was a rather interesting place, and the last time he was here, he'd met Athiyk, and went off on a mission to recover the person that had saved her during her childhood. Right now, however, he actually had a blade...two, for that matter. He then drew both of them after walking outside into a clear portion of the area, and started moving at rapid speeds, slashing across the air furiously with each of them, in rather precise movements.
Lyrka - December 9, 2003 01:36 AM (GMT)
Lyrka had mentioned it to Kalasin earlier that her swordsmanship needed practice, and it did, so she had decided to pay a visit to the arena. Her hair had been tyed back in a braid and her wings were held tight against her back as she stood on the far side of the arena, watching Lance as he practiced. He was good, she noted silently, better than her.
LanceDragoon - December 9, 2003 01:40 AM (GMT)
Lance felt another person enter his current training grounds as he practiced with his dual swords, continuing to make precise, agile movements, and rarely leaving any open spots on him. He always made sure to train at his fullest, as though he were fighting someone as good as or better than himself, so that he'd get the maximum benefit of the training. For now, he figured he'd continue his training a little bit longer and then greet the person that seemed to be watching.
Athiyk - December 9, 2003 01:40 AM (GMT)
Athiyk noticed Lance holding double blades in the arena. She had been walking past, again at the academy to see if a couple young candidates had the proper balance to fight with two blades, which they hadn't. It was a rare gift to be born with the perfect balance. Though Athiyk didn't have her double scimitars, she planned to get her second scimitar back, or maybe buy a scimitar of fire if she could manage to save enough gold.
Lyrka - December 9, 2003 01:44 AM (GMT)
Lyrka moved forward a few feet, the distance alittle to much for her to see each of his moves perfectly. Though it was still a bit of a strain to see his footwork aswell, Lyrka didnt move any closer. She did not wish to intrupet, though she guessed that he already knew of her prescense.
LanceDragoon - December 9, 2003 01:48 AM (GMT)
Lance took a deep breath after he was clearly finished training, standing up straight and slipping both of his swords at once into their sheathes in a rather rapid and precise movement, not unlike when he'd been training. Figuring now would be as good a time as ever to greet the person watching him, he looked over to the person, spotting a young-looking but rather attractive girl, who was also somewhat strange-looking due in part to the wings. "Hello, miss. Mind if I ask what brings you around here?"
Bimestris - December 9, 2003 01:49 AM (GMT)
Bimestris had grown board and decided to come here, to the academy of arms even though she did not posses a knifre or sword herself. She had hoped to find her friend Lyrka here and did as she saw her move close to some unknown double blader.
Lyrka - December 9, 2003 01:52 AM (GMT)
Lyrka nodded, a friendly smile appearing on her face. " 'Ello, and I mind not at all if you ask. I was hoping to find someone to practice with, my sword work not being to good and all." She glanced over at the sound of another, raising her hand in greeting when she spotted Bimestris.
LanceDragoon - December 9, 2003 01:55 AM (GMT)
Lance looked over to Bimestris in slight curiosity once seeing her, also waving slightly in greeting to Athiyk as he spotted her here as well...he certainly didn't expect to see so many people as he was training. Nonetheless, he turned back to Lyrka and nodded. "I see...well, I could probably help you with that. But first, it might help to know your name."
Lyrka - December 9, 2003 01:58 AM (GMT)
"Really? Thank you then..." She replied cheerfully, glancing over at Athiyk curiously as she did so. "I must have lost my manners, I am Lyrka, it is a pleasure to meet you good sir."
LanceDragoon - December 9, 2003 02:00 AM (GMT)
Lance chuckled softly, and nodded. "Don't worry, nothing wrong with your manners that I can see. My name's Lance, pleasure to meet you," he said, bowing politely.
Lyrka - December 9, 2003 02:04 AM (GMT)
Lyrka nodded, returning the bow with a small curtsy. "I do have a question though, do you think we could practice with wooden swords first?" she asked, glancing nervously at his demon sword and his sword of frost. "I really wouldnt like to loose an arm or leg because I havent practiced in awhile."
LanceDragoon - December 9, 2003 02:07 AM (GMT)
Lance chuckled softly, and nodded. "Of course...truthfully, that was what I'd had in mind, myself. Rather none of us get hurt, after all," he said, and walked over to the side of the arena, picking up a pair of wooden swords that were lying there, and walking back over to Lyrka, offering one of them out to her.
Lyrka - December 9, 2003 02:12 AM (GMT)
Lyrka hid a smile as she took the offered wooden sword. "I do doubt that I would be able to land a hit on you Lance. Not yet atleast," she added the last part with her normal cheerfullness though a touch of wickness could be seen in her eyes as she moved away and unbuckled her sword and fighting knives. "Dont want them to get in the way," she commented as she returned.
LanceDragoon - December 9, 2003 02:13 AM (GMT)
Lance nodded, finding this girl's behavior to be somewhat...unusual...almost shy. "Perhaps, perhaps not...never know until you try, right?" he said, smiling reassuringly at her.
Lyrka - December 9, 2003 02:17 AM (GMT)
Lyrka nodded, taking a step back and raising her sword with a nod towards him. "What first?"
LanceDragoon - December 9, 2003 02:19 AM (GMT)
Lance shrugged slightly. "Doesn't really matter, I suppose...the best training is in battle, after all, so I'll just let you make the first move."
Lyrka - December 10, 2003 12:59 AM (GMT)
Lyrka nodded, shifting her grip on the sword and stepping forward. She brought the wooden piece up then down at his neck with a suprising strength.
Bimestris - December 10, 2003 02:00 AM (GMT)
(sorry for the crappy post)
Bimestris looked on for a while and finally relized she had no idea what they were doing, and left.
Bimestris - December 10, 2003 02:01 AM (GMT)
Bimestris Watch for a while and finnaly gave up and left.
LanceDragoon - December 10, 2003 10:18 PM (GMT)
Lance quickly shifted down and to the side, toward the attack, ducking underneath the wooden sword. 'Not too bad...' he thought to himself. 'But she'll want to react to my movements before moving herself.'
Lyrka - December 20, 2003 01:44 AM (GMT)
She blinked in surprise, seeing him duck under the sword, then moved back a few paces and brought her sword up again.
LanceDragoon - December 20, 2003 01:46 AM (GMT)
Lance brought his wooden sword up to hers, although not too forcefully, only enough so to parry the attack. "Not too bad...what you might want to do, however, is react to your opponent's movements. That way you'll more likely be able to get a good hit in."
Lyrka - December 20, 2003 01:56 AM (GMT)
Lyrka nodded, "Alright." She shifted forward, bringing the sword up and then down as though to hit him from above but changing at the last moment to for his left side.
LanceDragoon - December 20, 2003 01:58 AM (GMT)
Lance rose his sword up again to parry the attack, but suddenly saw her shift the attack, and was barely able to twist his sword downward and block it as he chuckled softly. "Wow...you're certainly a quick learner."
Lyrka - December 20, 2003 02:04 AM (GMT)
Lyrka smiled, happy for the praise but then focused her attention on the training fight once more. "I found that it made more sense for me to learn fast, otherwise I would have gotten a smack on the head for each mistake I made when I was younger and training with the glaive and sword for the first time." After he parried, she went for his other side.
LanceDragoon - December 20, 2003 02:05 AM (GMT)
Lance chuckled softly, and nodded, shifting his own wooden sword over to his other side to parry that attack. "Can certainly understand that...as for me, I've been training all my life, so I've learned over time."
Lyrka - December 20, 2003 02:24 AM (GMT)
She nodded, "I have had 410 years to learn quickly, but I always have prefered the glaive... But I cant seem to find one here and no one uses them so I figured I needed to practice my swordsmanship." She moved back a few paces, then shifted to one side and went for his legs.
LanceDragoon - December 20, 2003 02:25 AM (GMT)
Lance nodded, taking a quick sidestep over the sword, thinking about this a bit. "A glaive, eh? Definitely a useful weapon...perhaps I could find one for you sometime, or something."
Lyrka - December 20, 2003 03:02 AM (GMT)
"If you did," Lyrka replied cheerfully, "Then I would be eternally greatful." She watched him moved then quickly moved forward, her sword aimed for his neck.
LanceDragoon - December 20, 2003 03:05 AM (GMT)
Lance nodded, not really able to dodge or parry this blow very easily, but not really feeling like it, despite that he didn't show this. "Yeah, well, can certainly try my best."
demus - December 20, 2003 09:07 AM (GMT)
demus slowly srept around the main entrance hidding his presence in a sheath of darkness....he knew he would not likely be welcome.......he watched as the female adeptly encountered the male with a swift and precise movement...he was impressed.....but couldnt help thinking of ways he could interupt them with his real weapons and destroy them both.....he noted to him self that the candlabras lit the room faily well....he could not help the places his mind wandered....only those of his body and soul..
---------------------------
name-demus
species-human,of course
look- human, but with empty black hate filled eyes, and the light absorbing silhouete of bat like wings protruding from back, these wings are massive, but due to thier unique light absorbing ability, they can be made nearly undetectable
height-5 11
weight-none but body would appear to be that of a 120-130 lbs 18 yr old
weapons- dark blades, two blades that when in the absence of light do not exist,
but when there is light they absorb it, and draw power from it by destroying it, shape and size can be decided upon the wishes of demus, as they are of his own mental creation, binded only to the amount of light available
armor-dark armor, same as swords
usefull info-he is some one you actually wouldnt mind being caught in a dark ally with....
Lyrka - December 20, 2003 01:42 PM (GMT)
Lyrka shifted back, her silver liontail curling around her leg as she did so as not to get in the way. She brought the sword down, swinging it in towards his left side. "And again, I thank you." She, of course, didnot notice or sense Demus's presence.
demus - December 21, 2003 05:03 PM (GMT)
demus kie in wait nearing the two as they spared waiting for his chance to to play his feindish trick....he needed only for one of the two to slip up, allowing the other to land a blow...then...he would have his fun......yes then he would make this little training of sorts a enjoyable show of his own dark talents.....he chanted in his mind the common things that one does when they are hoping for somthing to happen and it eludes ther wanting, he beleived it was better to wait and have his fun than to become impattiant as many do......it had crossed his mind to partake of their weapons as they were foolishly left unguarded...but he had it in his mind that it would a more profitable situation to have this litle bit of fun as it had been so long.....he felt as if he were loosing his evil sense of humor, which in his mind , was what defined him as a individual from the others that were of similer powers and abilities to his own......all he needed was one simple mistake by one of the two...just one...but their skill was impressive...

strike all of my comments here, i apaulogize, i will get the gold i aquired from these posts removed if possible, as i am apparently braking rules......i am trully sorry..
LanceDragoon - January 2, 2004 12:13 AM (GMT)
Lance nodded, smiling a bit at her as he brought his own wooden sword to block the attack, looking curiously at her tail for a moment, having not noticed it before.
Lyrka - January 2, 2004 06:31 PM (GMT)
She caught his glance and chuckled. "Easy to miss unless it moves, eh?" She shifted, placing her weight on one foot then swung the sword towards his right side though again she shifted at the last moment and went for his legs.
LanceDragoon - January 10, 2004 07:56 PM (GMT)
Lance chuckled softly, and nodded, quickly flipping over the wooden sword toward the way it was coming from, hoping that she'd think to take this perfect opportunity to strike while he was unguarded.
Lyrka - January 11, 2004 01:34 PM (GMT)
Lyrka didnt even pause when she saw his unguarded side, instead she swung her sword straight for it.
LanceDragoon - January 12, 2004 08:24 PM (GMT)
Lance chuckled slightly at this action...she was definitely learning what he'd taught her about watching her opponent's actions, and fast. Considering there was very little he could do from his current position anyway, he took the blow to his side, landing on his feet and resting his own wooden sword on his shoulder. "Pretty good...you're definitely improving a lot quicker than I'd expected."
