Title: Ace's Birthday Party
Description: open to all
Master Ace - June 29, 2005 10:44 PM (GMT)
(As a forewaring, any party-poopers shall feel pain form at least a fourth of Ace's spells ::poke-punch:: . So any other words, DONT THINK ABOUT WRECKING THE PARTY [without a death wish{which I shall gladly grant}]! Sorry for all those thise note didn't apply to.)
Reis, Ace's mother, was had to think long and hard about where Ace's birthday part would be set. In the end she opted for the academy of Magic because it was a the easisest place to spruce up. Reis had hoped to make a surprise party, but couldn't find enough of Ace's freinds for that. Most were off somewhere or another. Kli of course had her duties on the throne to see to. She was able to give Meera the invition at least. She wasn't quite sure who else of Ace's freinds got an invitation.
For what seemed like it would be just a small party, Reis had gone through a lot of difficulty in setting it up. The courtyard had never looked better before. All the trees and plants beamed with a the liveliness of spring despite the fact that it was summer. Numerous colorful streamers tied to trees blew in the gentle wind. A large banner reading, 'Happy Birthday Ace' was hung at the middle of the courtyard near a large table of food which Reis was tending to.
It was still early, the sun had only risen minutes ago, and Ace was still fast asleep. Reis stepped back from the table a moment to admire her work. She twirled a finger in her hair as she thought of a way to improve her work but none came to mind. Now all that was left was to wait for guests and of course the birthday boy, Master Ace.
Lánilmathién - June 30, 2005 11:57 PM (GMT)
The Invitation had fell into Kioku’s hands as she had wandered the different grounds of Imythess, but she had found it in her own right. Ace? She recalled the name, but who was this man? One of the Mages from her past? No, he was a Mage, but not from her past, he was a Sage and Such she had met in the Academy of Magicks when she was training in Necromancy. She was more of an assassin than anything, but she did have Magicks, and this was an undeniable truth pushed through the different phases of places. She was a skilled person, but she needed her Magicks back, for the Damn Mages stole her powers, and now she needed revenge. But first, she needed her Necromancy Magic, and the woman had come to train…Or she had broken in to train, and this man taught her some things, not much, but some.
Her Cloak fluttered around her, hiding her form as she moved. The clothing underneath was a simple Leather Riding Skirt, Leather riding boots that stopped at her knees, and a leather top that cut just above, and below, her bosoms. Her scimitar was hanging at her hips, and the Magicks she knew lingered on her tongue. She did not know any dangerous Magicks, but she knew ones to help her in battles and such, Necromancy would come back to her. The scars that were etched across her shoulder in blood were carefully hidden underneath the cloak, and her Black hair was Braided in two braids that fell down her back, stopping around her waistband –or what you could see of it, anyway.
She entered the room with the normal Grace about her, the one she did not commonly show, and she slipped through the small area. The woman was there, a woman she did not know, but somehow felt she did. Was this Ace’s mother, and where was his father. Better Yet, where was he? She did not see him as she glanced around the room. Maybe she was imagining things, and he was there, but she did not know, and the Detect Magicks spell she had said before entering had detected nothing except the small Magicks used to hang these items on the walls. As she looked around, a smile flickered across her face and she walked toward the woman, extending her hand.
“Hello,” she said in her bright and Sunny voice, a voice not normally spoken, “I am Kioku.”
Zin - July 3, 2005 09:09 AM (GMT)
Zin eyed the paper in her hand, wandering towards the academy, her pack light on her back, weaponry tossed randomly about on her person, and words dropping from her lips in two different voices.
"...A birthday party?"
"Mh-hm. Sounds like fun, huh?"
"No, not all that much fun..."
The half-elf rolled her eyes, antennae twitching back. "You're so overdramatic, Dee."
"Dee?!" The demon was indignant for a moment, then continued. "The invitation said nothing about me, you know."
"So you're gonna shut up. Now." With that final command, the mage wandered onto the grounds, and towards the festivities, antennae twitching animatedly. She hadn't been to a real party in ages, it seemed, and was overjoyed to have been invited to one, especially one that was for a teacher at the academy.
Nightgazer - July 3, 2005 11:53 AM (GMT)
Meera smiled while walking towards the academy. She held the invitation that Reis had recently given her lightly in her hands. She was very happy for Ace. Today, she wore her, somewhat, usual getup. It was just her plain leather pants and a vest that stopped just above her hips, showing a little skin, because it was in a V shape and extended down a little further. Her boots were the normal, well-worn travel boots that she always wore and her hair was done up in a ponytail as usual. Today though, Meera walked with a certain bounce or spring in her step. She was very excited. It had been a long while since she had been able to attend a party. Especially one that was for a very good friend of hers. For a moment, she almost forgot about Sayuri. Then, she felt a tiny change of weights on the little hooves that rested on her shoulder. Meera groaned. She had forgetten to take Sayuri off before she left. She didn't know wether anyone would be bothered, but it was too late now. Meera placed her hand up to her shoulder and motioned for Sayuri to climb on. The tiny horse stepped delicately onto her palm them streached out its wings and let out a small, soft neigh. Meera laughed.
Suddenly, she saw the courtyard loom before them. It looked so beautiful the way Reis had decorated it. She must have worked very hard to let her son have possibly the best time he could on his birthday. Sighting Reis, Meera walked over. She was about to say something, but then she saw someone else talking to her. Meera closed her mouth and waited patiently to speak with a smile. She didn't know anyone at this party other than Reis and the birthday boy. That was usual for Meera though, she always was able to meet people. Today would be no exception.
Aegion - July 3, 2005 12:15 PM (GMT)
Aegion entered the bright and sunny Academy.
Mmm... looks much brighter than I expected. I suppose the stereotype of large old libraries with musty old books does not apply here.
He had heard of Ace's birthday party, and have long heard of the great Archmage Master Ace. Oh, how he savour the magick that he once had, but now lost. The quest that he had done had cost him a great deal, but at the same time leaving him spiritually at rest. Once he regained some of his skills and relearnt the old spells that he had, he would approach this Master Ace to teach him the ways of the Archmage.
He did not get an invite, naturally, as Archmage did not know him, but he was eager to learn more about Master Ace and understand his personality and character. Perhaps, he could also befriend more people, for his years of travelling in alternate dimensions and other realms have left him unaware of the happenings in the realm he came from, which is Imythess. Upon the completion of his quest he had returned here. The years of travelling back and forth in the Planes have messed with his mortal functions. Time had increased rapidly in certain dimensions, yet in others time practically crawled to a stop. As a result, the number '25' did not accurately resemble his actual age. He only looked 25, but he was sure his age was much older than that.
Snapping out of his trance, Aegion noticed an angel-like woman in the courtyard. She seemed familiar. Shrugging his shoulders, he went to a corner and took in the cheery scenery, surveying the surruondings, the people and the atmosphere.
Master Ace - July 14, 2005 08:38 PM (GMT)
(Serious attack of the deadline gnomes, amongst other things of course)
Reis spun around when she heard someone speaking to her. It wasn't anyone she knew, but then again she didn't know all of Ace's freinds. "Well, hello. I'm Reis, Ace's mother. It is indeed a pleasure to meet you, Kioku. It seems I finished up with the decorations just in time," Reis smiled warmly meeting Kioku's extended hand with her own.
Ace awoke from his slumber, and got out of bed feeling refreshed. He quickly dress himself in spidersilk robe, and began to make his way for the courtyard. He of course remembered that today was his birthday and he had a 'party' waiting for him at the courtyard.
When Ace got to the courtyard, he was glad to see both Zin and Meera present. H was mildly surprised to se Kioku and a man of whom he was sure he did not at all know. Apparently he would have to be working on his birthday which wasn't at all bad after all bad given that he enjoyed his job.
Ace greeted his mother with a hug and a good moring, while she greeted him with a hug, kiss and the words 'happy birthday, my son'. Reis to continue whatever conversation they had started. "Good morning, Meera. I've got to say that's the cutiest little pegasus I've ever seen. Where ever did you get ...the pegasus," Ace smiled to Meera. He didn't know whether to call it a he or a she and the world it would simply wouldn't do.
Nightgazer - July 15, 2005 11:38 PM (GMT)
Meera's face brightened up as she listened to Reis. She seemed to be only too happy to be working on Ace's birthday party. Meera silently wished she had only been that lucky with her parents. To her, Reis was the example of the perfect parent. She was guiding and kind, yet strict and stern. Still, she waited for Reis to be done greeting the other woman. She was relatively impatient upon saying her regular thank-you's to the host and then mingling with the other party guests. This time it was taking longer than usual. Meera was not one to either, butt in on another's conversation or skip the thank-you's and head straight for the party. So instead, she just waited. Suddenly, out of the corner of her eye, Meera spotted another shape moving towards them. This one was wearing different colors than the ones she had seen as she surveyed the other guests. She figured that it was just a fairly late one and she gave it no further thought. Then, when the shape fully came into her line of vision, she realized who it was. She laughed softly at herself then waited until Ace had greeted his mother properly.
When he was done, she stood on her tiptoes and gave Ace a hug along with a friendly peck on the cheek. She then stood back down flat-footed with a smile. She said "Happy birthday Ace!" with a little laugh. She then answered Ace's question while momentarily returning her gaze to Sayuri. She said "oh yes, her name's Sayuri. I won her at a little raffle in a bar some time ago." She then looked back to Ace and asked a question of her own. She asked "how's life been treating you?" She hadn't seen him in a while and wanted an update on all that she had missed between the last time she had seen him and today. That was what Meera usually did with friends she hadn't seen in an extended ammount of time. Ace was no exception.
Zorgn - July 16, 2005 12:29 AM (GMT)
Zorgn was a sucker for parties. He also tended to crash them. Zorgn seethed inside at the thought of being at a party he couldn't trash, but it was his fault that the party was safe. Zorgn sorely regretted his vow to himself not to put the academy in danger, but though most woudld disagree, Zorgn didn't break his oaths. His word he might break, But oaths, vows, promises... Zorgn could only sink so far, he had to see just a little of the light so his hatred could feed on it and grow.
Zorgn grumbled as he entered the courtyard. Guests mingled and generally had a good time. Whoever sent me this stinking invitation ought to be shot. Put 'em against the wall, and turn them into a pin cushion. That'd repay them for inviting ME. Zorgn headed for a bench on the edge of the group, keeping an eye out for snacks and drinks along the way.
