Title: A Reason for Strength
Description: {P} Master Ace is training here!

Thomas - April 12, 2005 11:30 AM (GMT)
The open room seems to envelop the outside world in itself, the entire landscape of glass windows beckoning the outside world to come in then stopping it short of entering the atmos of the room: A taunting guise without true purpose. Nothing adorned the concrete terrain that laid before the feet as this was simply an arena where magic can be tested to their extremeties if needs be. It also helps when learning as some unknown aura grants additional strength to those who need it to cast their spells. Something the figure appearing into this dome could use.

Thomas walked into this spacious arena, looking in awe at its entire structure. Something about this place made him look upon it in wonder as he felt some familiar energies rising from within, making him feel as if he was back home. Something he longed for but is unable to achieve, not until he 'regains his strength'. The meaning of those words are still unclear, but he feels inside that it has something to do with his magical capabilities. Why or how he doesn't know...but he has to start somewhere!

It was coming into this place that reminded him of why he became a battle mage in the first place. To protect. To protect the innocent and weak, shield them from harm, to sacrifice himself for their ongoing peacefulness and security in the hope that one day there will be an ending to war. Of course that would mean an end to his purpose but it was not as if he had feelings he wanted to let out himself. Even now, looking so young and undaunted, he felt something about him becoming weaker. He wondered if this was aging as he had hardly had a chance to feel it before: His greater powers had sustained him enough to halt his entire aging process and his weakening of body. It is something that is essential to a battle mage, really: Not aging.

Then he felt something, an interruption in the room's aura. How or why he felt it he had no idea but he could tell that something was altering in the space that was laid out before him. The only thing he knew was that something was coming and it was not intent on hurting Thomas - at least not yet - so Thomas eased up a little, though he kept a solid grip on his staff and his dagger was gripped with a gentle stroke of fingertips, ready to snap it out if the need arises.

Master Ace - April 23, 2005 02:17 AM (GMT)
Master Ace wandered through the corridors of the academy. It seemed as though an interest in the academy was sparking, though it appeared that private lessons were asked for more often than normal classes with other students. Ace also foud it odd that pyromancers seemed to take a liking to the academy more. There was Jasmine, then Zero, then Solora and Ember. It was an akward coincedence, but and Ace recognized it had little room to be anything besides that. So long as they didn't try to burn down the academy, it didn't really matter. Jasmine had lost control of herself and caused a mess that was luckily easy to control, but to make matters worse she was a magister at the time.

Ace soon found his way outside to the courtyard. It was nice to have a break though before the recent spark of intrest in the academy he had more breaks than he knew what to do with. Ace's eyes were drawn to an open door as he began to walk into the academy courtyard. He recalled training himself in that room earlier. He must have left the door open. Ace adjusted his course, now heading for the domed structure.

Once at the doorway he realized that the room was not empty. "Either you are very lost or I would say ou have an intrest of some sort in the academy of magic," Ace smiled as he leaned against the doorway. he hoped it was a future student. Sure he had his hands tied being basically the only teaching magister, but Ace liked to see the academ growing.

"Either you are very lost or I would say you have an interest of some sort in the academy of magic." Thomas turned to see the position of the voice and, smiling, he lowered his guard fully, beholding someone who seemed to be the training master. At least that was Thomas' opinion as he beheld the figure that queried him, if only from his words. Nodding, he replied to his query, though he felt this trainer needed much more of an explanation.

"I would like to learn the techniques of those who know more than myself in this realm." Thomas spoke to the figure before him. "I hate to be a bother if you are busy but do you know anyone whom I can learn from? I know little of my current magic skills as I am still uncertain as to what spells I can remember from when I was much more experienced." He felt stupid for saying that but it had to be said - he was more experienced before his period of solitude. "I think it best not to explain my circumstance, though if that is what you wish I am able to discuss such matters."

Walking forward to this figure he felt some surge of confidence inside him, he held his staff in respect, not in preparation as he first did, and greeted the figure that queried him. "I am Thomas, once a potent Battle Mage. May I ask your name?"

Master Ace - May 15, 2005 08:25 PM (GMT)
Ace stood bewildered by Thomas' words for a few moments. He seemed not much older than Ace and he seemed human as well. How could he have been more expereinced? How could he have lost his potent skills as a Battle mage? The answer soon came to Ace quickly. The wonderful world of magic made it so that one's eyes were not always reliable. It would be possible to stop aging with magic, he could have been resurrected, or he could have even have had the aging process reversed which might have went hand-in-hand with the loss of potency. Whichever was the cause didn't seem to matter much.

"Lucky for you, Thomas, I can not claim to be busy at the moment. If you think there it is best that you don't explain your circumstances, then I see no reason to ask you to do so. Yes, You may ask my name. I of course would answer, Archmage Training Master Ace or Master Ace if you prefer. I doubt you will find any other teaching magister at this academy, sadly," Ace smiled in reply. "Do you have a plan in returning you to your former glory or did you merely wish for a magister to come up with that for you? Either way should work for me I suppose."

Thomas - May 16, 2005 05:41 PM (GMT)
It seems this character was curious as to the meaning of Thomas' words for a moment and with this Thomas waited patiently. Of course it was difficult to understand. So difficult even Thomas had a hard time explaining it. But Thomas never thought about that matter much. Only when curisity met with chance, as it did on this occasion. The figure's response was pleasing to Thomas' ears if not confusing. -So this guy's an archmage...one of the most powerful types of mages in existence. I could learn a lot from him.-

The statement about there being no other teaching magister, though, rasied his curiosity. "You mean to say that you run this place by yourself?" His face was struck with awe. "You said you are an archmage but I'm really surprised by that. I never thought anyone could run such a place by themselves." He then decided to respond to Ace's query. "If it is possible I would like some help with these spells. Some of them I can understand, namely Greater Heal and Telepathy as I've used these before, but others are somewhat a mystery to me. Spells such as this one," he pulled out the spell sheet from his backpack, "Fire Whip is the name, have me confused to some extent as I am still uncertain as to how they work."

He then decided that it was best that Ace knew what spells he had acquired on his travels and so he pulled out the nine spell sheets that were loose in the pack and the two books that he held some of the sheets within, another five spells in their depths. Fourteen spells in all. He then looked at one of them, Find Familiar, and had a strange feeling that this was to call on an animal companion. He knew that familiars were associated with a wizard's companion, be it dragon or mouse, so it should have had some relevance. -Still...- He thought to himself. -It's best to check...-
