Title: Here once more

The drow capital city of Menzoberranzan...Lance definitely had some interesting past memories here from before he'd left Imythess for a time, specifically the raid on one of the major families' houses, the name of which he'd since forgotten. Even more so, though, was his fight with Athiyk's brother, who'd become a drider and ended up giving him a fair amount of trouble. Shaking these memories and thoughts from his head, he silently wandered the streets, a black-cloaked figure that nobody seemed to recognize or mind, looking around for something of interest to occupy his time, given that, unlike last time, he wasn't here for any particular reason.

Menzoberranzan was not someplace for this simple human to be as she had little magic to defend herself with and the looks that the drow were giving her had made her feel as though she should turn around more than once already. Her spell of faerie fire highlighted the outline of her form, her long, ebony hair looking aflame as it swayed gently across her back.
Her amber eyes looked to either her sides as she walked down the street, watching carefully for any sign that she might be in danger. Though so far she had seen nothing out of the ordinary within the drow city, she still sensed that danger was near and pending in her future.

Lance turned around somewhat to look behind him, noticing something...unusual, one could say, in the city, not too far in that direction. Shrugging to himself and figuring he'd check it out, especially since he didn't have anything better to do, he wandered back through the streets, coming up soon enough near a human girl, probably a spellcaster from the looks of things, who was of course getting looks from the drow around the street that passed her by, given that this wasn't the best place for such a human to be. "Hey...you just passing through here or something? Because if you're planning on staying, it might be best not to be wandering around alone, lots of stuff that could happen in a place like this...trust me, I've probably been through some of the worst of it."

It was strange to her to even be approached in such a place as she continued her way through the city. The man seemed kind and she felt almost as if she could trust him, though she laughed at herself on the inside she thought such things. Nothing is ever as it seems dear Ember, you know better than to believe in such delusions.
She did stop then, turning to speak with him, brushing back the long fiery hair so that it would keep out of her face. "If it is any of your business at all, I'm lost or so I think. I came down in search of a someone." He spoke of some sort of trouble and that much had interested her so far. For the most part she appeared unafraid of what might happen is she were caught wandering this place when not escorted.
"And you think because I am some simple human mage or because I am a woman that I need a consort such as yourself?" Ember had started her replies with a bit of snappiness, her distrust for the man obvious to those that were within an earshot. But as she continued to study the fiend before her, her eyes began to show her interest in him and what he might be able to offer.

(sorry, haven't really been around lately...busy)
Lance nodded in understanding, finding this perhaps not exactly the best place for someone to be lost or whatever, if the person she was looking for was, or even to be looking for someone at all, considering this was overall a dangerous place especially for those that didn't seem to fit in, which he did well enough thus far. "Well, if it's someone you're looking for, then I'm sure I can help you find them...and I never meant to imply that you were helpless or anything of the sort, sure you can probably defend yourself well enough, but in a place like this, it's not good to get in any sort of fight lest you bring a whole family into the scene, and the bigger families here aren't to be messed with by one person...even with five other people, I didn't come out of a particular rescue mission completely unscathed, especially with that lousy drider..." he said, mumbling this last part mostly to himself, then shrugging and looking back to her from the streets. "But anyway, probably best to stick around someone who fits in and who knows the workings of this place decently well...simply offering to help you out is all."
