Title: The Way of the Flame
Description: For: Master Ace

Ember - April 10, 2005 03:39 AM (GMT)
After an uneasy start at the academy, Ember had finally found her way to the classroom that she had been instructed to be in at noon. The large auditorium and empty platform told her that she had indeed come a bit early for her private lesson. She was surprised to see that she hadn't run herself late, having gotten herself lost among the other rooms within the academy and spending a bit too long in her dorm room. Slowly descending down the gradual stairs that led to the platform in front of her, Ember ran her hand back through the thick ebony hair which. She had let the spell faerie fire down for the time being as she wanted to concentrate more on the spells she was to learn here today.

Sighing as she reached the midsection of the steps, she paused a moment, taking the time to look about the large classroom. It was more than she had thought it would be, the entire school had been for that matter and now she was feeling a bit uneasy and out of place. I should just go home, I can learn my magic there, from those that I've known for all my life. Ember began walking down the steps again as she reminisced about home and told herself that she couldn't just leave now as she would be expected to show up for her lesson.

Her amber eyes scanned the bottom row of seats, half expecting for someone to be sitting there already, waiting for her to arrive, but no one was there. She was nervous, a feeling that she wasn't quite particularly fond of and one that she was not accustomed to having. Deciding that she would not waste any more time on the slow decent, she snatched up the side of her tan dress, raising the hem up off the stairs and jogged down the remaining steps. He'll be here soon I hope, anymore waiting and I'm not sure what I'll do..

Master Ace - April 12, 2005 01:23 PM (GMT)
Ace had been informed of the new student and her lessons almost at the minute. Ace had been out for the day and luckily came back in time to hear what he had been signed up for. Since when was he not the one to schedule his classes, which would include the personal training lessons? Someone was certainly going to get a good bit of talking to after this was done. Ace had to admit he was the only one for the job, Kli did not seem to delve into the spells of fire. Ace was told he was to meet her in the large classroom that he had been working recently. It was going to be where "magic" feats could be performed without the use of magic. It would be an interesting way to test who could use the spell detect magic, though he would have to make his little tricks beleivable and use a different room. This room did a better job of revealing the tricks as hoaxs due to it's design. The idea came to him when he saw a performer do something simmilar in cascadia.

When Ace walked into the room he was quickly aware that it was empty. He was afterall a good bit earily. "Perhaps now would be a nice time to work on the trap door till it came time for her to arrive," Ace thought to himself. Ace quikly decended the stairs and walked across the platform. "Opex," Ace said and the trapdoor swung open with a slight creak and Ace jumped down folding his wings in towards him tightly. "Ceranex," Ace called and the trap door swung back up with another creak. Surely the enchantment upon the trapdoor would not be used in a performance but was convenient given that Ace was about the only one working on the project.

He snapped his finger and the darkness around him began to push away as a flame sparked into life upon his finger. Something had to be done about the creaking. It didn't do that when the trapdoor was first installed. "Perhaps it just needed oil," he thought as he looked around to see if he had brought any oil down here in the first place. Ace paused in his search as he reard rapid footsteps upon the stairs. "Opex," Ace called as he climbed a ladder by the trap door. "Sorry if I kept you waiting," Ace said as he climbed up on the Ladder. "You are Embersia Robins right?" Ace asked after climbing up upon the platform and strecthing his crimson wings.

Ember - April 14, 2005 04:48 PM (GMT)
Her teacher had finally arrived, though she was sure that wasn't that early or late. He had called her by some unfamiliar name, one that she had never heard before but sounded similar to her own. She only shook her head, giving him a disgusted look as if to ask 'what are you thinking?'. Crossing her arms in front of her chest, she watched her new magical teacher as she replied in a cool tone of voice.

"No. My name is Ember Robins. Miss Robins if you prefer to be more formal." She began to wonder if this was such a good idea, getting lessons from a man that obviously had no knack for remembering her name. "I take it that you are Master Ace and you will be the magister in charge of my lessons for the next few days or weeks?" She was sure he was who she thought him to be, but she needed the confirmation. She didn't want to waste much more time here if he wasn't who she needed him to be.

Ember obviously had a chip on her shoulder, her every look and tone cold as ice though she had come to the academy to learn more about the flame magic she had so recently become ardent about. Grabbing hold of her orange dress near her knees, Ember shook it a bit to get rid of the cling which had resulted from her short jog down the stairs. Her nervousness still showing through her frigid facade.

Master Ace - May 13, 2005 12:53 AM (GMT)
(Almost a month! Wow, that's some serious shame on me)
Master Ace did not like her body language nor her malignant tone. Didn't one with such a title as he deserve a bit more respect than that? But of course all she saw boy much younger than herself who couldn't even get her name right. Neither of course was his fault. Emersia Robins was the name he was told. They must have mixed her up with Solora Embersia, that or someone was trying to bait him for failure.

"I see they at least can my name right. Yes, I willbe your teacher. I am sorry for the slight mistake, Miss Robins. Don't expect it to be repeated," Ace smiled before pausing. Her mannerisms had irrated Ace, but not to the point where a smile had to be forced. If her mannerisms were only an ill omen of the future then Ace would have to do what he could to prevent it. If her name had gotten messed up, was it not possible that magic he was to teach her was also in error? "You are here to learn magic of the element of fire, or am I mistaken there as well?" Ace asked before his attention was diverted to the trapdoor he had come out of. "Ceranex," Ace said calmly before returning his attention back to Ember. The trap door creaked again as it closed. If he was going to teach in this room it would be best that there wasn't a little hole in the floor.
