Title: Battle on the Mountain
Description: .....
Kuya - November 28, 2003 07:51 PM (GMT)
Kuya ventured up to Gwilikith Mountain Range. He found a city covered in snow. He thought he would find some training here. He explored the city searching for someone to spar with.
Kiranni - November 28, 2003 08:11 PM (GMT)
Kiranni ventured into the deep cities of the Gwilikith mountain range. It was dark and smelled horribly of decay. Just her kind of place, she thought with a slight smirk. Very little light could be seen down here and she didn't have a lantern or candle so it was hard to see. Her eyes were fairlt well adjusted to the darkness now though and she didn't feel like she was blind. She stepped over an unknown object which smelled like blood and she cringed slightly as it reached her nostrils. Kiranni continued walking until she came upon a figure. She thought it probably to be a male. He looked like he was waiting for something or someone.
Kuya - November 28, 2003 08:15 PM (GMT)
Kuya continued to walk deeper into the city. He then started to smell blood. He wondered if there was a battle that took place a few centuries ago. Or it could have been recent. he then felt something bump into him. 'Oh excuse me.' Kuya said politely. 'Sorry about that.'
Kiranni - November 28, 2003 08:22 PM (GMT)
Kiranni stifled a shriek that would not have been becoming of her and glared at Kuya. Clumsy ignorant fool, she thought to herself. She took a step back from him still facing his way.
"Who are you?"
She asked with a distinct sneer. She fingered her daggers, which were on either side of her waist, restlessly. She cocked her head slightly staring at Kuya waiting for him to say something.
Kuya - November 28, 2003 08:27 PM (GMT)
'Is this the way you always greet strangers?' Kuya said looking at her with a bit more seriousness. 'I was polite enough to say sorry. To answer your question my name is Kuya, and I'm here on some training.'
Kiranni - November 28, 2003 08:31 PM (GMT)
"Ah, here to spar are we?"
Kiranni asked, slowly and soundlessly unsheathing her daggers. She had been training with them instead of her sword lately and was quite interested as to how they would fare in an actual battle. She needed a good spar as she hadn't had one in a while.
"And yes,"
Kiranni said with a fake and mocking smile,
"I am always this way."
She was ready for a fight.
Kuya - November 28, 2003 08:35 PM (GMT)
Kuya raised his eyebrows at her last remark. 'Ok then,'Kuya unsheathed his Soul Sword. It lighted up the whole room for a moment then dies down to a feint glow. 'Ready...'
Kiranni - November 28, 2003 08:41 PM (GMT)
"Certainly,"
Kiranni remarked casually. She cracked her neck and held up her daggers in a ready stance. She steadied her feet and prepared for a first blow. Kuya's sword looked slightly powerful and she had some apprehension. It was only a minor setback however and she was determined. Besides, a sword was only as powerful as those who wielded it.
Kuya - November 28, 2003 08:44 PM (GMT)
Kuya's sword was very light and he could use it with only one hand if he wanted to. But he chose to use both hands this time for control and power. He put up the blade close to his face. It started to glow brighter as the blade got closer to him. He and the blade were one. Kuya turned to his opponent, You first...
Kiranni - November 28, 2003 10:31 PM (GMT)
Kiranni was greatly annoyed by Kuya's hesitation. Let's get this battle started, she thought rolling her eyes slightly. She twirled her daggers slightly to get a better grip. She took a fighting stance momentarily before she lunged full out at Kuya, slashing at him anywhere she could.
Kuya - November 28, 2003 10:38 PM (GMT)
Kuya blocked every attack with ease. Maybe it was because of the daggers. 'Are you holding back?'Kuya asked.
Kiranni - November 28, 2003 10:50 PM (GMT)
"Yes,"
Kiranni said. She had barely even begun. She stopped attacking. Kuya was better than she had expected. She took a step back from him still holding her daggers at the ready. She wasn't even out of breath.
"Let's see how good you are,"
she said staring at Kuya as if she were looking right through him. She waited for him to attack.
Kuya - November 28, 2003 10:53 PM (GMT)
Kuya shrugged He quikly sprinted towards his opponent with his sword upright. He then fake slashed from the left and kicked from the right. An attack at different angles and heights.
Kiranni - November 28, 2003 10:59 PM (GMT)
Kiranni ducked and rolled to the left just barely missing Kuya's kick. She quickly leapt up. She faced Kuya again.
"Oh impressive,"
She mocked casually.
Kuya - November 28, 2003 11:06 PM (GMT)
Kuya didn't know whether she was mocking him or giving him a compliment, so he didn't say anything. 'Your turn...'Kuya said only a few feet away from his opponent.
Kiranni - November 28, 2003 11:13 PM (GMT)
Kiranni thought momentarily about what to do next. She wasn't going to pull out her swords yet. Her daggers were doing her fine this far. She bit her lip slightly. She moved quickly, first taking a wide arching slash at Kuya's head, before bringing her other dagger to swipe at his ankles.
Kuya - November 28, 2003 11:17 PM (GMT)
Kuya quickly guarded both incoming blows with the length of his sword. He wa thankful for its length sometimes. Kuya stood there waiting for her next move smiling.
Kiranni - November 28, 2003 11:21 PM (GMT)
"Your turn,"
She said stepping back from Kuya and repeating his words with a certain amount of malicious pleasure. His sword was not nearly as impressive as he pretended it was.
Kuya - November 28, 2003 11:26 PM (GMT)
Kuya could read her face. 'I do not pretend that my sword is impressive, and (recalling something a few moments ago) you were the one that thought that a sword is as dangerous as the wielder if I'm not mistaken. SO here I come!!' Kuya cast Bless Weapon then Divine Fury and sprinted at a furocious speed at her. He was not going to take this from her. He was in total control over his divine fury. 'TAKE THIS!' Kuya quickly swung at all sides at super speeds. You couldn't even see his blade.
Kiranni - November 28, 2003 11:35 PM (GMT)
Kiranni wondered how Kuya could supposedly read her mind without possessing any miraculous mind reading abilites. Ah well. Kiranni thought Kuya was taking things a little to seriously. Just then he attacked with freakish speed. She couldn't even see where his sword was going. She more had to sense it out than anything else ducking and weaving around where she thought it would be. She tried to defend herself by blocking with her daggers (although she should have known it wouldn't have worked) but one of them got into the path of Kuya's blade and it slid away across the floor.
"Damn it,"
She said before cursing profusely as she was stupid enough to turn and watch her dagger and a heavy sword blow caught her on the left side of her waist. She winced slightly as blood slid down her leg. She continued to dodge although rather unsuccessfully as she recieved a few minor lasserations anyways.
Kuya - November 29, 2003 01:25 PM (GMT)
Kuya stopped knowing that he had gotten a hit. 'I don't read minds, I read faces. I was always good at that. Kuya said sheathing his blade. 'Would you like to continue? We can stop and go down to the Inn, I saw one as I was climbing up the mountain.
Kiranni - December 1, 2003 10:12 PM (GMT)
"Are you giving up or is it a sympathy quit? The last thing I want or need is pity,"
Said Kiranni with scorn brushing some dark tendrils of hair from her face. She wasn't one to quit, but if Kuya truly wanted to that was fine. She closed her eyes to the pain from her side. She opened them and her eyes watered and blurred. She felt her side tenderly. The cut was really deep because of the speed at which it had hit her. She bit her lip painfully. There was a small puddle of her blood on the floor around the area of her left foot. She looked down at the cut. It was really bleeding. She cast heal and the cut healed slightly. It stopped bleeding at least. What could she say? She just wasn't one for having great magical abilities. She put her head in her hands, her dagger still in the right. She sheathed her dagger and strode brusquely over to her other dagger which she bent over and picked up sheathing quickly. She walked back over to Kuya.
"I'll still spar if you still want to,"
She said concealing her pain with extreme ease. She'd had worse injury than this before. She inspected one of her hands which now had a small cut across the knuckles. She healed it quickly with irritation.
Kuya - December 2, 2003 12:09 AM (GMT)
"You know what, I could have striked you down many times just now. For one when you went to get your dagger. Two, you left yourself wide open for an attack when you healed yourself. I'm asking you once more, are you seriously injured?" Kuya was a great fighter, but even more powerful was his kindness. "And also, is that enough to convinve you that I could have won? Or shall we have to continue our fight?"
Kiranni - December 2, 2003 10:05 PM (GMT)
"Only the lowliest and most cowardly of fighters would attack at an opponents turned back. Besides, I don't take you for a coward and since you seem interested in being kind at all I know my assumption correct. And even so, you just said you could have attacked, but did you?"
Asked Kiranni rather politely compared to her usual tones. She found it odd that Kuya could be so kind after she was so defensive. Ah well, she thought, some I will never figure out.
"As to your question, I'll live. I'm not one for magic, but I can heal myself slightly,"
Kiranni said. She glanced down at her waist again. It really didn't look well off. She wished she was skilled in magic for a moment before she snapped back to reality.
"And oddly enough, I'm not in a fighting mood as surprising as it may be,"
She said speaking more to herself than Kuya, but with great conviction,
"I'd really like to go to the inn actually,"
She said, shocked at her own willingness to give up in this spar. She wasn't one to quit and she was slightly angry at herself. Too bad, she thought shaking her head to clear away any notion of continuing to fight. There would be other times, other fights and since she didn't have any morals it wasn't hard for her to convince herself to quit while she still could. She quickly pulled her hair back into a messy ponytail. Now that she thought of it she found herself tired. She stifled a yawn and blinked still watching Kuya for response.
Kiranni - December 2, 2003 10:05 PM (GMT)
(( Oh, geez. I am sooooo sorry I *swears profusely* double posted. Sorry, sorry *sigh* ))
Kuya - December 3, 2003 09:29 PM (GMT)
Kuya smiled at her. "Good idea. Let's go." Kuya went next to ger and put her arm around his neck. Ready?... Kuya asked still smiling at her. It would be a long walk to the inn Kuya thought. But he did the harm so he had to get her help.
Kuya was ready to go all the way. He waited for Kiranni's approval.
Kiranni - December 4, 2003 09:32 PM (GMT)
Kiranni was a little taken aback and it showed on her face. No one, no one, had ever been this nice to her. She gaped at Kuya. She realised her mouth was open a little and shut it quickly. She was really glad that she didn't have to walk back down the mountain herself. She truly doubted she could have made it. She felt extremely weak from a combination of lack of food, lack of sleep, and the battle had drained her slightly. She looked at Kuya.
"We should spar again some time,"
She said with a smirk.
Kuya - December 4, 2003 11:16 PM (GMT)
"Yes we should." Kuya answered. "But for right now we need to concentrate on you getting help." Kuya replied. Kuya shifted Kiranni's weight a little. "Ok let's go before something else finds us in here. I had that feeling since the beginning of our fight..."
Knowing that this was the place of a battle long ago did not comfort Kuya at all.
Kiranni - December 6, 2003 02:58 PM (GMT)
Kiranni nodded in reply. She sensed that Kuya was a little uneasy about being down here. She glanced around and her world jolted. Ouch, she thought barely restraining herself from screaming from the agony of her pain. GOD! Her head ached like nothing else.
"Well, let's get on with it,"
She said somewhat eager to get out of here herself and taking a rather unsteady step towards the exit.
Kuya - December 6, 2003 03:05 PM (GMT)
"Ok let's go..." As they walked Kuya thought of some way to make the journey down to the inn easier. Then an idea popped in his mind. "Hey let's stop for a moment, I've got an idea." Kuya laid Kiranni down on a near buy rock and began chanting a few words. He summoned three angelic beings. And as if Kuya had spoken to them through his mind, two of the beings carried Kiranni, while the other healed her woud slowly down the mountain.
"Tha's better..." Kuya said walking along side of them. He stood on guard.
Kiranni - December 8, 2003 10:05 PM (GMT)
Kiranni was a little uncertain about this new mode of transportation. She didn't particularly like the angelic beings. They irked her. Ah well, she thought, they were doing her no harm for the moment. She found Kuya to be rather nice. Odd, she thought with a frown, how someone could be so kind and good to someone like her. She decided it was probably a passing thing and that she should stop worrying about it. She worried too much. She looked at her wound. It looked alightly better already. It still hurt with a passion though. She sat cross legged looking at the angels which surrounded her. They had a somewhat surreal beauty to them.
"Thank you,"
She said looking at Kuya.
Kuya - December 10, 2003 10:22 PM (GMT)
"Hey it was my fault so this is the least I can do." Kuya said smiling at Kiranni.
It was getting dark. And the idea that a battle was once played out on the land they were traveling in didn't help at all.
"Hurry my friends we mut hasten." he called.
Kiranni - December 12, 2003 10:31 PM (GMT)
Kiranni gave a small smile. She looked around her as they travelled away from the Deep Cities. The view was beautiful. She yawned slightly. She also realised that she was extremely hungry. She didn't really know what to say. She opened her mouth about four times to try and make conversation, then closed it again because she realised that what she had been about to say would have sounded stupid. So she sat and tried to remain content with the silence.
Kuya - December 12, 2003 10:47 PM (GMT)
"I think we are going to have to stay the night up here for a while." Kuya said finally breaking the silence. The angelic beings set he down on some soft grass, and started to build a fire.
Kuya whistled a peculiar whistle. It sounded like a radiant light that had shot through the heavens. A call only but him could do. And three beings emerged from nowhere. An Ehtereal Unicorn, and a white wolf ound came running at them, and an Ancient Dragon from the sky landed near them....
Kiranni - December 15, 2003 10:24 PM (GMT)
Kiranni could live with that. She was an expert at camping in the outdoors. She decided to try walking around. She wasn't exactly one to just sit around and do nothing. Standing hurt like all the pain of a thousand deaths, but her expression remained neutral. She walked a few paces and it hurt slightly less. Perhaps the initial pain had been worse than the pain actually was. She sighed and resigned herself.
"I'll get firewood,"
She said walking a little ways away from Kuya. She limped only slightly and was greatful for it. The angels had healed her well. Odd how the pain yet still lingered. She found a clump of rather dead looking trees. She hoped her katanas could handle the trees. She felt confident though and unsheathed them getting ready to hack at some of the trees branches.
Kuya - December 16, 2003 09:34 PM (GMT)
"A few of you help her. But come back if she asks you to." Kuya said not knowing if Kiranni was one of those warriors who thought they could do everything by themselves.
Kuya picked up a few twigs and put them together in a pile. He took his broadword and took a fine rock and started to grind the two together making sparks.
Kiranni - December 16, 2003 10:11 PM (GMT)
Kiranni sensed someone following her and gave a snort of indignation. She didn't bother to turn and face them she simply swept her hand over her shoulder as a sign that she wished whom ever it may be to go. She didn't bother checking she just began to cut down some branches. It took her rather longer than it might have had she been un injured, but she managed. After she had a rather sizable pile of wood she sheathed her katana in a fluent motion and swiftly proceeded to gather the wood. It was heavier than one might have guessed, and after a few moments of reorganizing her pile of wood so that she could carry it in one trip she headed back the way she had come. She winced in pain as she did so. As soon as she returned to Kuya and herselfs makeshift camp she dropped the wood into a pile a little ways away from where Kuya was attempting dismally to start a fire. She turned her back to him so that she could watch the setting sun. It was a firey colour and it softened the sky to a violet hue. She sighed happily. She liked sunsets, perhaps because it symbolized the setting of the sun. The cursed sun.
Kuya - December 16, 2003 10:34 PM (GMT)
Kuya turned and saw Kiranni trip and get back up again. Kuya walked up to her. He picked up the fire wood and put them under his arms.
"Hey, Kiranni are you ok?" Kuya asked Kiranni. She seemed to be looking at the sunset.
Kiranni - December 17, 2003 09:46 PM (GMT)
"Huh?"
Kiranni asked, turning at the sound or Kuya's voice and knowing it was him, but still being surprised. She was stupified momentarily at being jerked out of her reverie, but shook her head to bring herself back to reality.
"Yeah, ...I'm fine,"
Kiranni said with a furrowed brow and looking at Kuya quizically. The quizzical look was gone as fast as it had come and then she changed her face to one of expressionlessness.
"Any luck with the fire?"
She asked putting on a slight smirk. It seemed he'd given up for the moment.
Kuya - December 17, 2003 10:20 PM (GMT)
Kuya chuckled.
"When I'm done putting this firewood into a decent pile, then the fire will get going." Kuya said making a pile of wood. And went back to his sword and stone, finally make a big enough spark to make a fire.
"There we go! Told you! Now for something to eat...."
