Title: lost yet found
Description: open to anyone
Jaymee - April 8, 2005 04:30 PM (GMT)
A lone cloaked figure sat quietly at a table in a corner of a pub. The brown cloak almost looked to big for the person. It covered the person's whole body from their neck, down to thier feet. The only bit visible, was part of the person's chin and a small piece of blonde hair reaching out from within the hood. At her feet lat a panther with head on the floor and golden eyes watching all that passed nearby or made any sudden loud noises. A peculiar pair these two were, but peculiar was not uncommon here at this tavern. A person could see many a variety of races here in only but one day. This pair did not draw much attention to themselves, nor did they want to. They sat still and patiently. The person only here waiting for a drink and resting up for the time they next had to leave. Finally, a waitress came over with the person's ale. The figure nodded a small thank you, then reached an arm out slowly for the ale.
The figure was Jaymee. Jaymee was careful to not allow the cloak to slip off and reveal her clothes underneath. She was a person being widely searched for and was resisting her return. She could not allow the chance for anyone to recognize her and return her to her perspective home. Jaymee sipped quietly for a while, well covered by the cloak. Her eyes followed as much as she could see from under the cloak, for any signs of people she recognized or ones that seemed that they recognized her. Seeing none from her view, she allowed herself to relax a bit, but not for a great deal. Setting her drink back down on the table after a couple sips, she looked down to notice the small bunch of blonde hair excaping from the confines of the cloak. She quickly stuffed it back in and looked around wildly to see if anyone had seen that. The tavern had remained as it was when she had looked around before, but now Jaymee's heart was racing. She told herself -that was too close. I'll have to be more careful next time.- Even though she didn't know if there was going to be a "next time"
Pheonix - April 8, 2005 09:17 PM (GMT)
Pheonix didn't usually hang around Balefire much. It was only because of work did she even stop by the tavern. It wasn't that Pheonix was any sort of anti-social sort or anything. She just preferred the forests and wilderness to civilization. At any rate, Pheonix was returning from one of her hunting trips. Over her shoulder was a large piece of fur. It was black; and would probably fetch a pretty high price if sold. The fur had came from an Umbra. One that had been injured, and if it weren't for Pheonix hunting it down, the animal would have died a much slower and painful death of starvation. As it's injuries prevented it from hunting it's own food. However, Pheonix hadn't exactly gotten through that unscatched. As she had the claw marks upon her leg to prove it. As she walked into the tavern, by her side was a wolf. The red wolf's name was Genesis, and he has travelled with Pheonix for a very long time now. They weren't really such an odd pair of companions though, ocnsidering Pheonix is part wolf herself. Thats evident by the ears atop her head, which were currently flicking back and forth at the idle chatter around this place.
Walking over to a table, Pheonix took the fur off her shoulders and dropped it in front of the man sitting there. After some conversation, money was exchanged and Pheonix went to the bar; the wolf following alongside her. As she took a seat and ordered herself a drink, Pheonix noticed the woman sitting at the table just behind her as she hurridly tucked a strand of blonde hair witihn her cloak. Pheonix found that somewhat odd, but didn't say anything about it. Pheonix herself was hiding something behind her jacket. A set of feathered wings, black in color at the moment. The only reason she hid that part of herself was because people found her odd enough already. And she didn't want any trouble with someone thinking it would be fun to mess with her.
Buying herself a drink, Pheonix finally did have to start conversation. Because, she was bored, and also a bit curious as to what the other woman seemed so worried about. Tilting her head in the other's direction, Pheonix decided to say something."'S a nice night, huh?"
Jaymee - April 9, 2005 06:00 PM (GMT)
On one final sweep of the tavern, she spotted a peculiar woman who seemed to be looking at her. She cursed under her breath, but held her composure together. The woman did not look like any she had seen before. She had wolf-like ears atop her head and there seemed to be a wolf by her side. Then Jaymee thought, the wolf wasn't that peculiar considering her panther. When the girl came over, Jaymee's heart rate picked up a bit, but she did not know what the woman was going to say so she couldn't be prepared. Her mind raced over, thinking of what could give her away and what would also be safe to say. She figured that her voice wasn't that easy to recognize but she wasn't going to take any chances until a moment that she needed her voice came up. Jaymee neatly placed one of her hands on her lap while the other lifted up the mug to her lips to drink. As the liquid traveled down her throat, her eyes scanned the woman. She looked like some sort of hybrid, but could not tell. She also deffinitely wouldn't be one to ask. When the woman spoke to her, Jaymee set down her drink slowly and waited for a second as if analyzing what the woman had said.
Jaymee only nodded her head and was careful to make sure her hood stayed down. Jaymee felt her panther, Tothio, shift uneasily at her feet. He did not know this woman and was unsure of what she was doing over here. Jaymee felt him tense up and ready himself for a quick reaction if needed. Jaymee suddenly felt safer with him there. She felt reassured that if anything were to happen or the need come, he would be there to protect her. Jaymee felt happy that she had a companion such as him to help her out. She trusted him and it was obviously mutual in the bonding that had occured over the time that they had been traveling together.
Garthock - April 29, 2005 07:38 PM (GMT)
The sky was clear on this night,yet..blood was still spilled on the outskirts of this fine city.Garthock,a Copper skinned human who had been traveling for some time, was glad to finally have reached the city.Just 20 minuts ago while walking the seemingly safe path into the city was attacked by a band of thieving kinder who merely wanted his belt pouch. This wouldnt do.He was surrounded by the four of them but still showed no fear. The apparent leader of the "gang" spoke in a high pitched voice "Just hand over your gold and there will be no trouble" then snickers in a cackling manor.Garthock just smirked. And before they even knew what happened Garthock had unsheithed his Kitana's,and taken the head off of one of the thugs, while the other managed to tumble out of the way.Feeling cold metal begin to slide between his ribs garthock took a step back, just intime to avoid probable piercing of his internal organs.Out of desperation, took a wild swing at the leader of the gang with success, removing his hand from his arm.
Feeling another cold blade enter his back he dropped one of his kitana, and reached behind him, grabbing the hand of the kinder that had stabbed him.Pulling the knife out of his back with the kinders own arm,he then lifted the kinder off the ground...such small creatures...and swung him at the thug who was now swinging at him from his left side, knocking both to the ground.Grabbing his kitana he ran...losing a lot of blood...he ran.
Garthock reached the city gates...finally,But was begining to lose conciousness.Gartock noticed a sign, tho blury in his vision it read "The Purple Lantern Tavern" Garthock stumbled into the tavern made his way in,then collapsed on the floor, his head lying by the feet of a Panther.
