The night was young and konahomaru was at his post at the southern gate. There was going to be a big match tonight, and he was picked because he looked awfully intimidating to the local street gangs and also there were rumors that an assassin would be after on of the contestants.

Standing looking around the crwod, Kona was keeping a sharp eye for suspicious activity as he admitted the ticket-holders one by one. Laughter couuld be heard inside the stadium as a performer entertained the crowd before the fight.

Standing outside of the arena,on this chilly night,Garthock has had a very long and boring day.All of the men he challenged to fight in the arena declined,for they already were scheduled.Leaning against the wall,Sharpening one of his Kitana's,Garthock notices a man looking around..a competitor?
Shiething his kitana,and putting the whetstone in his backpack,Garthock cautiously approaches the man."Good day too ya,you here to fight? or are you just here to see me and my fellow gladiators in battle?"

Kona looked casually at the man who challenged him to a fight, while scalping a spectators ticket. "Does it look like im here to fight human?" he said, as he allowed his aura to come out of his eyes. Kona liked to scare humans sometimes, it was amusing. "If you insist, i wouldnt have any problem helping you lose a few pounds."

Garthock starts laughing "hahahahaha Then i shall get us a booking,you see,I was raised fighting.The arena is my passion,and only 4 men"Garthock looks down at his feet"and 1 woman..but she was a wizard!,have ever been able to say they have defeated me in battle.My name is Garthock Whisperwind..ill need yours so that i can get a fight spot for us.And would it be swordplay?or would you cower behind magic?

Konahomaru smiled. It wouldnt be hard to defeat this confident man. "My name is Konahomaru, I use Light and Lightning to my own ends, but am equally talented with swordplay." he drew his katana, and showed it to the man. Then he sheathed it. "It was made by a half-celestial smith. Nearly perfect in its make. Unfourtanetly, it holds no significant power on the mortal plane of things. He frowned, then waited for the mans repsonse.

"That is a pretty nice blade"Garthock reply'd as he pulled both his katana's out of theyre scabbards."Simple weapons,but they have yet to let me down" Placing the weapons back in theyre shieth's,Garthock shot a smug grin at Konahomaru."Well let us see just how skilled you are with that blade,in the arena of course,I will get us a round booked,good luck to you,see you inside"Garthock then turned and entered the arena.

Konahomaru smiled and said "Indeed" as he scalped another spectators ticket, and gave a pick pocket a mean glance before h tried anything on anyone in the crowd. The pick pocket dropped everything that was his and somebody elses and ran. He could hear the crowd inside the arena roar as they watched a fight.

Many fights had passed,and it was now Garthocks time to shine,allthough,he hadnt had a fight in almost a week,he was sure he'd do fine.Sharpening his blades,and tightening his armor,garthock stepped up to the door to the battlefield,and as it swung open,he just grinned"here we go again" he thought to himself as the crowd stood on its feet at the sight of theyre champion.

A man walked up to Konahomaru, and tapped his shoulder. "Hmm?" said Kona, as he turned around. "Your time to face garthock is now" said the man. "Oh! Ok then." said Kona. He waved to another gaurd who took his place and then Konahomaru walked inside the arena. Everyone looked at him with funny looks, and somebody threw a beer mug at him shouting "Freak!". Konahomaru let his aura loose, filling the arena with light, and the man cowered behind another. He walked up to see Garthock again, but took no stance and did not draw his sword. "Shall we start?" Kona said.

Rith had entered the stands in his disguise of Peral Forbus. It would have seemed akward for a child to be entering the arena with only his hound. Rith had brought Torment with him, but he seemed a normal large black hound than a evil-looking worg. Rith had come early and held a seat near the front. It was of course the besst way to get as close as possible to the fights. Torment at least would be pleased. Rith was scanning for potentially useful people though he had yet to see anything of intrest in any ofthe fights. It was all medicore. Rith smiled to man cower in fear at a mere light show. He wondered if there was more to see from the man. He was even willing to interfere with the fight to find out.

Garthock smiled "aaah so you did come,great!" Garthock,not drawing any weapons yet walks twords Kona and extands a hand to him "Shake for good sportsmanship? afterall this my house,how rude would it be not to wish my opponent luck"..Garthock smiled"once you draw i draw"

"Very well" said Kona, as he outstretched his hand and grasped Garthocks. After he had finished, he stepped back and then raised his hand. Under his breath he muttered the words for the light spell, and a beam shot towards Garthocks eyes in an attempt to daze and blind him. Moving quickly, Konahomaru drew his sword and swiftly jumped behind garthock and then put his sword against his neck, Konas aura enveloping the two, making it hard for any of the spectators to distinuish what was happening.

Then a nagging suspicion came into the back of Konas head. Still concentrating mostly on the battle, Kona sensed a somewhat nightmarish presence in the arena. Concentrating on the source, he used sense-motive, and found it was actual a Nightmare, but didnt seem to have any intention of violence at this point in time. It still bothered Kona a little, and he became somewwhat unsteady as he was waiting for garthocks next manuver.

Garthock grinned as he felt the cold steel caressing his larinyx.This man obviously has had little experience in an arena.This maneuver would do fine to scare an initiate warrior on the streets,but here,in garthocks arena,it is childsplay.Faster than the eye Garthock had drawn one of his katana and deflected the blade from his neck,thinking to myself"i could easily have gutted the man there,but im not gonna kill this one,nah this just fun"Taking a step back,and blinking as the intense light eminating was rather...annoying.Garthock drew his second Katana and in a sort of whirlwind attack,Garthock spun twords kona,but just as he reached him he leapt over him and gave him a little kiss in the cheek with his foot on his way over.Then waited for his opponents reaction.

Konahomaru was had not expected this human to perform such acrobatic feats. ~He is definetly more experienced than i had thought~ he thought, as garthock flew pass and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Childs play" he said aloud, and turned to face garthock. The crowd was stunned by the manuvers that both Kona and garthock had done.

Kona sheathed his katana, and began walking towards garthock casually. muttering inside his mind was the light spell, and just as Garthock would attack Kona would narrow and focuse it, making it a projectile and blasting him away. ~i hope this human cannot sense motives like i~ he thought to himself.

Garthock looks baffled as to why this man would shieth his weapon.In any case garthock moves to strike.Swinging 1 Katana at the mans head,and 1 at his weapon arm,but from opposite sides in a scissor motion.But just as the weapons would meet bone,Garthocks vision went black,he could feel his feet lift off the ground,and an incredibly strong ultraviolet sensation on his whole body.
The next thing garthock felt was the back of his head finding the..unforgiving structure of the arena walls.
Watching the room spin back into focus garthock slowly got to his feet and just stared at Konu.And then begun to mutter a healing chnt as a blue light surrounded Garthock.Feeling better..Garthock charged.Knowing this man was a caster,he didnt want to give him any space,or time to cast another spell...Garthock was swinging both Katana now at the mans throat.

Konahomaru ducked and spread his feet at shoulder length. Catching Garthock in the stomach, still screaming an swinging his blades. He felt one of them clip some of his hair, and another scraped his back. Konahomaru tried to punch him in the stomach to knock the air out of him, after which he would flip garthock over his back.

Garthock watched as the man sank,lowering himself away from the attack then feeling a blow in the gut,that barely phased him,garthock dropped his katana's.
Reaching down Garthock grabbed Konu from under his arms,and lifted him into the air.When Garthocks arms were at full extension,with all his strength he slammed the man down on the back of his head."Does this man think i am weak in the gut?"Garthock thought to himself.
While he was low he grabbed his Katana's back up,performed a backflip and stood,waiting for the man to get to his feet,Then he would get into melee combat again,knowing he didnt want to give this man any space.

Rith was not entirely impressed with Kona. So the fool could put on a light show. The man was either a show off or a moron and while Rith could make use of anyone, there was not as good a use for either. Garthock did strike Rith as talented though. He thought of testing Garthock further by aiding Kona, but no, rith did not have to great a liking for the light bearer. He decided instead to find out whether Kona was fool or show off. Without a word and without any movement Rith's spell was cast and Garthock would soon became invisble. He could help more if he wanted to, but he doubted Garthock would need too much aid.

"Ouch!" Kona shouted, as he was slammed onto the ground head first. regaining his compsure, and standing up, he felt a little wobbly. "Very nice human, i was not expecting such a manuver." taking some deep breaths, Kona regained his balance and then could see clearly again. there was one problem, however. Garthock was no longer there. Kona couldnt beleive it. Very few humans were ever that fast, unless they used a spell. No, something else was afoot, looking round, Garthock was nowhere in sight.

~Think god dam it! where did he go? He didnt cast an invisibility spell, so maybe somebody else did....~ Still looking around, acting befuddled, Kona did not want the new enemy to know that he was onto the situation. Scratching his head, he shrugged his shoulders and began to stand around and whistle. Looking around casually, he saw the footprints in the arena dust that garthock left behind. Following them somwhat unexactly, they stopped, and Kona looked up. Immediatly he drew his katana and tooka defensive stance.

~I will have to listen closely to him, becuase i will not be able to see him~

(Rith is right about Sense Motive, if you would like to read more on it go Here. I have been watching this RP for awhile, and Garthock, I would like to ask you to be a little more human like, you are on the boarder of godmoding.)

Veronna was in the stands watching the battle take place; she was not impressed at all at their performance. She sat right behind a young looking boy who she did not know, but she could almost tell he was there for some reason. She then noticed that the fighter named Garthock had dissapeared, and Veronna stood and started walking out of the row she was in, she then descended the stair towards the arena, as she walked many looked at her with respect and honor, but those who did not know who she was looked a little scared of her for she was a drow.
She reached the bottom of the stairs and she walked out to the arena, staying on the edge, watching to see what Garthock would do, and she was ready to take action if needed.

Veronna's scimitars were hanging on her hips, they were as sharp as ever. Her hair was tied back in a horsetail, and her long sword was strapped to her back. She wore a black long sleeved shirt with black pants, her chainmail went over her shirt and then her darkred tunic went over her chainmail.

Id do these on a roll system if i had too.they arent god feats to perform a flip when you have trained in speed.Its not like im munchkinnig the fight.I take my blows.

Garthock looked confused.Kona was standing right in front of him,but seemed to look right through his chest.Had someone interviened?If indeed someone had then there is no honor in the situation.Garthock backed up,keeping his Katana in front of himself he reacked down and grabbed a bit od sand and sprinnkled i on his head.Garthock is a gladiator,the arena is his home,but he does have a code of honor.

"Konu i would like to call this fight a draw.Someone has corrupted the primal honor i require to have a satasfactory victory.But if you charge we can continue this."

(Double Posting is a no-no, Just keep occ in side the post if you don't feel like sending a pm ;) . Also be sure to not to count yourself at level 20+ for your rolls :P . And on an unimportant side note, Rith looks like a mature gnome as I kinda forgot to explain in my first post.)

Rith was displeased to see that his action had brought an end to the fight. It would have been an interesting twist. When Rith caught site of Veronna making her way to the arena it already seemed an interesting twist. What was she doing? There were fights worse than this and fights better than this. Magic was not prohibited or else Kona would have been called out. Did she suspect something was afoot? Rith doubted this incident could be traced to him, but he would have to be more careful. He could not have Peral Forbus accused meddling with the arena, not after all the work Rith had done in getting the gnome, who had never existed before, a respectable reputation. Rith's spell slowly removed itself and steadily Garthock became visible here and there as if the sand had some magical property in macking him visible.

The crowded booed as the officials agreed to make the fight a draw. "Interesting" said Kona, as he looked everywhere but at garthock to see where the caster of the spell was. then he saw the goddess of blade, and immediatly knew something more serious was afoot. Kona might even be involved, before he had even known it. ~Crap! Crap crap crap!!~ he thought.

Garthock notices the look of panic on Konu's face "What Is the problem warrior?" He asked.Looking around all Garthock noticed was the crowd booing,and throwing things at him.but he knew this warrior was too solomn faced for this look of .. fear almost in his face."Is it anything i can help you with?"

Konahomaru caught himself in his panic, and calmed down quickly. It was not good, at least i his mind, to show any form of fear. The one repsonsible for the invisibility incedent might pick up on it. Kona turned toward Garthock, and stepped closer to him. He whipsered in his ears "The Godess of Blades is in the arena. Something serious is going on, and i have a feeling i may have to help with it. This is very serious, a matter between the gods."

Kona continued to look around the arena, looking for anybody out of place. he then whispered "Unless you are braver than you are smart, i would suggest you brace yourself human." Kona noticed, in his observations at the entrances, that most of the crowd was humans. Very few of any other race entered, except for maybe a few elves, and himself, being the most out of place other than the Goddess of Blades was. He hadnt seen the Goddess walk in, so it must have been one of the other entrances. Thinking hard, Kona stepped away, his face still blank. ~Act inconspicuos.~ was replaying inside his head.

A candle light above his head. Making a signal with his hand, waving in the air, the other gaurds at the entrances walked up to him. he lead them away from Garthock, and then said in a low tone "Did you notice anybody out of place, besides me and the Goddess of Blades?" the gaurds thought for a moment. Kona watched thier faces intently. "You" he siad, pointing to one. "What did you see?" "A gnome walked in earlier today. I thought nothin of it at first but..." "Thank you"

Kona stepped away, and dismissed the gaurds. The Goddess of Blades was still walking around. Kona started running at full speed toward her, leaving a small trail of sparks. ~I have to tell her! we need to find it!~

Veronna was suprised when Garthock called for a draw, she had not seen him as that honorable of a fighter. She saw that the crowd were getting up set at the draw, and she smirked; they did not understand the meaning of battle, they were there just for entertainment. Her attention fell upon Kona as he whispered to Garthock, she noticed that Kona looked worried and she wondered why he seemed so uneasy.
When Kona called the guards over she was suprised they came to him, she saw him talk to them for a moment, then she saw him turn and come running towards her. When she saw this right away her hands fell to her scimitars and was ready to draw them, though it did not seem he wished to attack, but the first words from her mouth were spoken quickly with anger and warning, "Vel'bol l' uoi'nota ph' dos xunin dhyn?!" she just realized that she spoke her native tounge, which was weird for she had not been speeking it for a while.

Veronna was not sure what exactly was going on, she wasn't even sure if it needed to be dealt with. She already knew the one responsable for the invisibility incident, but she didn't want the "gnome" to know.
The arena was her area, her home, and those who interfear with the battles would regret it later, for she would deal with it her way.

Kona stopped dead in his tracks. ~Even worse~ he thought, ~now she is speaking to me in her native tongue. She has got to pissed.~
Konahomaru knelt on one knee, reading Veronnas face like an open book. he said"Please forgive me, i should not have startled you mistress. I merely want to tell you something impoertant. Please allow me to aproach you, it is very important."


~Feh! politics! I hate them! I cant even aproach Veronna anymore without being scolded. What the hell is her problem any ways? She knows who i am! Its not like im some crazy human wanting to give her a hug!~ he thought to himself, keeping his face downward so that Veronna wouldnt be able to tell what he thought of the situation.

Veronna didn't mean to make him stop, and when he bowed she sighed and looked down at him. Her hands had left the hilts of her swords when she saw he wasn't going to attack. He may be able to read her face, but her emotion was locked away within her.
"You may rise, I do not wish people to bow before me." She was able to tell what Kona wanted, she did not need a face to be able to do such things. She looked around, wondering what the crowd thought of this. "We should talk somewhere else." She said in a quiet voice."

She moved towards one of the exits and wondered if Kona would come. She wished she knew what was going on, but she would find out at some point.

Konahomaru rose and said "Sure thing!". After Veronna had reached the exit, Kona casually walked there himself. She was waiting under the archway, watching him. ~Well! It looks like i didnt upset her too much afterall!~ he thought to himself, as he walked closer.

Reaching arms-length, he looked around real quickly to be sure nobody was watching them. Garthock was still in the arena dodging food items. Konahomaru turned twoards Veronna and asked "What is it you wanted to speak to me about Mistress? If it is who the spell caster is, i know who is responsible. I just dont know where they are exactly in the arena. Its a gnome, and earlier i felt somewhat of a nightmarish presence." he said in a matter of fact way, looking around cautiosly once again.

Garthock just stared as konu walked twords the goddess.Garthock being a gladiator knew of her very well,and her capabilities.But why was she here now,monitoring this match?And furthermore who had interferred,because Garthock thought to himself,i want theyre head.Looking around he decides to head back into the waiting area,and talk to soem of the conpetitores,see what hey know.

Rith popped off his top hat brought it in front of him so that the inside was facing him. The crowd was already showing signs off agitation. The guards would not be enough to calm the crowd though perhaps the presence of the goddess would keep anything awkward from happening. In either case it would not be too noticeable or out of place for some one to find out what was going on.

Rith waved his hand over the hole and a clear close up image of Kona could be seen. Rith could hear his words and the words of the guards summoned around Kona, but that was in his head to overcome the clatter of the crown. Rith found it odd that a gnome would be on someone's mind in a time like this. He was sure he wasn't the only gnome and gnome weren't shady characters either. He was slightly surprised the the ugly woman several seats behind was not brought up. She looked like the stereotypical evil witch.

In any case, for whatever the reason things did not seem to be going his way. If things went further out of his way then he would have to make his exit. The question was if he should create a disruption amongst the crowd before doing so.
