Title: Bounty on Vernon
Description:
Vernon

Gibbon - March 24, 2005 03:11 AM (GMT)
Gibbon had recently been recruited to take on a bounty for a man he had once meet, named Vernon. Unlike most bounty hunters, Gibbon wasn't out to kill anyone. He was though told to kill this one. He wanted to find a way to prove that Vernon was dead, but not kill him.

Gibbon was now wandering into where he knew Vernon was the marsh. Gibbon hated the marsh. It was all gloomy and filthy. But guessed that's what shady people prefer. He had his sword drawn as he treads through the muck.

He heard a slash in the wading water ahead. He couldn't make out what it was. He quickly turned full circle to survey the scene. "Whoa, this place is either is this creepy or I'm going mad." he said in a whisper. He continues to walk onward, only to hear the noise again. Now he stood still waiting for it again.

Vernon was starting to like the job of an assassin far more than his jobs trading though more often now Vernon's job called for the same skills as an assassin and sometimes called for an assassination. Vernon had to clean up himself to do better at his job. His black fur did much better in hiding in the shadows than green fur. While it was nice to have the stench he liked to call the stench of death, it often brought unwanted occasions to his work.

Vernon was unaware of the bounty on his head though if told he would not be greatly surpised. He had killed one of his former employers, and word got around.

Vernon peered into the murky water of the marsh from atop a sturdy branch. Vernon pulled back his slingshot a fired at a snake making it's way into the swamp. He missed and created a fairly large splash of acid and marsh water. A smile spread across Vernon's face as he heard the sound of someone making their way through the muck. Vernon quickly made his way towards the noise moving from tree to tree, eager to dispell his boredom. Vernon noted that this was the man he had seen with the werewolf. "Does stupidity bring you here again? Or do you merely wish for your life to end?" Vernon called from the trees.

Gibbon saw as he approach the noise, the man he had been looking for. He seemed to not know that there was a bounty and greeted Gibbon in his typical way.

"No, not this time. I was actually sent to kill you. My employer didn't tell me why, but I hate to do the work not knowing what the crime was. So, tell me what did you do? I mean you did do something wrong? You are the same rat I met a while back right?" he smirked with his sarcasm. He like to get a rile out of his foes.

Vernon - March 24, 2005 11:25 PM (GMT)
The fool talked to him lik he was a freind though Vernon was in good enough mood to laugh at the thought of a bounty on his head. "A better question would be: What haven't I done?" Vernon laughed. Vernon's laughter soon ceased as he thought of why he would have a bounty on his head. He could not recall any operations done with a witness save when he stole from the dragon. "Your employer likely has the bounty over my head for some one in the black market or something to that effect. I can think of no other reason why I would be wanted dead. Now that you know of the crimer of killing a previous employer are you still set on my death, if so I would be pleased to introduce you to your own," Vernon snickered. Vernon doubted the man would be turned away from his goal, but either way Vernon would pester him.

Gibbon - April 4, 2005 03:30 AM (GMT)
Gibbon stood repulsed by the rat. He wanted no part in his death, but knew if Vernon left him no alternative then death is the only choice. "I highly doubt..." he paused and rethought his words. "To be honest, I might be your ticket to living another day or maybe two. As much as I detest you, I would rather have both of us walk away without drawing weapons. There is one way I can think of that suits this best. The man who hired me wanted proof of your death. He wanted a piece of your smelly fur. He said he could tell it was yours by the putrid smell it gave off. That is why I took the job. For someone to ask for so little would be too easy. And I hope you cooperate." Gibbon stood with hand out waiting for Vernon to hand over a hunk of fur. He only hope he would work with him not against him here.

Vernon did not seem to like or show any intrest in Gibbon's words. Vernon's attention seemed moe set upon a molded peice of bread he had pulled out and ate while Gibbon made his proposal. After Gibbon was done speaking, Vernon put the rest of the half-eaten bread in his bag on his back. Vernon's eyes turned to Gibbon's open hand. He wondered if the fool could retract his hand before Vernon could peirce it with a thrown shadow dagger. Vernon opted not to attack him just yet. There was still more fun with word-play to be had. "As much as I like the idea of getting you in a trap simmilar to my own, that would likely bring upon your death, I do not find it worth the indignity of saying you were able to even touch a strand of my fur. I have no worries of my life span being shortened. I have people upon people wanting my head and the bst they can do is send incompetent yahoos like yourself after me. Pathetic!," Vernon laughed.

"I've been doing a good job of dealing with those after me given that I am alive and speaking to you. You have nothing to offer me, while you get the luxury of the gold on my head. Do you mind telling how large it is? I do so love to hear how the numbers grow," Vernon snickered. Perhaps if the man actually put up a good fight he could spare him and hunt down his beloved werewolf.

Gibbon - April 6, 2005 02:59 AM (GMT)
Gibbon knew that he couldn't do much, but kill the rat fiend. "What would one less scum ball be to this world.?” he thought to himself. The only downfall for Gibbon was his conscious. He knew Vernon had none, but he had one and that would lead to his demise. If he pursued through with the deal. He would try to avoid this as much as possible. Even if it leads to bailing on the bounty.

"You are the arrogant one aren't you? If I were you I would at least be wanting to know what the crime was." he paused and began to laugh. "You want to know you bounty value, eh. Well if you have been in this kind of trouble before you can only guess how high it is now. Enough talk, if your not willing to bend to my suggestion then let's see how you fight." Gibbon had given up on talking this out with him and figure to get this over with. He drew his sword and prepared for battle.

Vernon - April 8, 2005 08:31 PM (GMT)
Vernon was slightly saddened that Gibbon would not etertain him with a number. It would have been nice to hear. Vernon yawned as he watched Gibbon pull out his large sword. "I will not bend to your suggestion, but I will bend your suggestion. If you can cut of a peice of my fur and then hold it in your hand, before I kill you, I will let you safely exit this marsh," Vernon snickered as he leaned his back against the tree.

He quickly placed his set of demon claws over his own claws. The demon claws were much longer than his own natural claws. They were supposed to be esspecially good against good creatures and lawful creatures, though a scratch from his natural claws would likely be more dangerous given they could transmit many of the millions of diseases he carried, but was immune to. Vernon imagined Gibbon getting 'lucky' and end up becoming a lycan like the werewolf he cared for. "Well does it sound fair, Kid? Or do you just want me to give you a final resting point," Vernon snickered as he turned back to face Gibbon.
