Title: Unexpected Encounter
Description: Autumn only please.
Mosvani - March 22, 2005 05:03 AM (GMT)
The rain was coming down gently now, bringing with it a cool breeze. He had been here for several days now, searching the woods for any sign of a man he was after. He had recieved word that he had been seen making numerous visits to the forest, remaining inside for days on end.
The darkness here was ever lasting. After a time his eyes had adjusted to the perpetual darkness. He was used to moving at night, but the dark here was differnt. It seemed to be almost alive here, with the trees and plants feeding off it. For even the trees in this place looked as tho they were consumed by shadows.
The bounty had been commissioned by a merchant in the city. Mosvani assumed the man had either gone bad on a buisness deal or stolen goods from the merchant, but in the end it mattered not so long as the merchant payed. He held little emotion for the people who had bounties on their head. He had long ago been trained to detach himself from such emotions when he hunted.
He continued through the forest, roaming aimlessly as he searched it. He ducked under some low hanging branches, and came out into an open area with a lake. Glancing quickly about, he searched for any sign of the man or possible predators. He was dissapointed that the prey wasnt here, and slightly relieved to find no other predators besides him were out. This was the first water source he had come to, which meant it must be the territory of something.
He heard it then, the distinct sound of something or someone walking through the forest. Listening closely, he was able to descern that whatever it is, it was coming towards him. He crouched low then, drawing his deadly daggers that hummed softly in anticipation of feeding. Emptying all other thoughts, he focused on the sound and waited for whatever it was to show itself.
Autumn - March 24, 2005 05:22 AM (GMT)
Autumn’s head slowly poked out of a couple of bushes, she didn’t know were she was going all this time, but somehow she ended up here, on the edge of a lake, probably in the middle of this forest that she had been wondering for hours. Autumn had been traveling from Taras City to the Village of Kellen, but somewhere along the way she took a wrong path and she ended up in this dark city that the people call Balefire. She wondered endlessly in the city trying to see if anyone could point her in the right direction, but noone would even speak to her, they just gave her weird looks and kept on walking. With no one to help her she wondered into the forest part of the city trying to escape the darkness that followed her every were she went, she had seen no sign of life in these forest, except a couple of umbras, that gave her no bother.
At first when Autumn’s head came out of the bushes she saw a very large lake that had a light blue color to it, the only thing that seemed to be alive in these damned forest, but after a closer examination of the area she noticed a person, quickly she ducked back into the bush. ”Someone out here, that’s surprising, probably just another one of those sorry sad miserable one’s that won’t even help out a person when they need help.” Autumn muttered softly to herself. Putting her hand on her katana, she thought “Hope I don’t have to use this, it would be a shame to have to kill right now, plus im not even in the mood, then again when am I ever in the mood to kill, unless there an angel.”
Autumn hated angels, one of her goals in life was to kill any angel that came across her path, she had hoped that this person was not an angel because even if it was an angel she still was not in the mood to fight. Autumn decided to come out into the open, so she walked over to the edge of the lake and just stood there with her wings hidden inside of her dress, hoping that this person would either pass or not give her a bother. She just stood there examining the beauty of the lake, even though it hadn’t been that long since she had seen something as nice as this lake, even a couple of hours in this dark town and forest can change a persons’ mind.
Mosvani - March 24, 2005 11:58 PM (GMT)
The rain stopped as the being he heard walked out of the bushes. She was too far away for him to make out any details due to the darkness, but as she came closer he was able to make out some details. She looked to be a young woman, and had on a long dress, split towards the middle revealing boots that went past her knees. He was unable to get a good look at her face due to the poor light, but he had seen enough.
He stood then, sheathing his daggers tho ready to grab them again at a moments notice. He knew looks could be decieving, but she didn't appear to be a real threat at this time. After all, he would rather save his strength for when he found his target then waste it fighting her. He also hoped she might have some information regarding the man he was looking for. Not wanting to frighten her, he called out a greeting before walking towards her. "Hello, pretty lake is it not?
He continued walking untill he was close enough to see her face should she turn around, but far enough way that he hoped she would not feel threatened. He stood their then, waiting for her responce and hoping this would prove to be a lead in finding his mark.
Autumn - March 26, 2005 08:34 PM (GMT)
Autumn turned around to face the voice that she heard, it was the person that she hoped would pass by. Autumn had no reason to be talking with this incompetent person, hell she didn't even know him, although the lake was very pretty. "What business do you have with me? I don't even know you, leave me alone or hury up and state your business with me." She had said very rudely, although she also thought to herself about getting out of this damn place, maby she could get this person to help her and escape the forest, since she had no idea where she was going. Although she had already made a bad first impression with this man, it might not be to late to turn that around, but for Autumn that might be hard, she was not known for being the nicest of people.
"What am I thinking, I don't even know why im being so rude to this person." Autumn said in a low voice, but just loud enough so this guy would hear her, she looked up at the man a gave a smile. "Im sorry, I should not have spoken to you like that, I don't know what I was thinking, alot has been going through my mind." Autumn looked down at the ground and then back up to this guy, after clearing her throat. "Let me introduce myself, I am Micca, well what might your name be." Autumn tried to hold back from laughing for the lies she just told this man.
Mosvani - March 28, 2005 12:53 AM (GMT)
He watched her turn to face him, with what looked like annoyance on her face. She spoke then in a very rude manor, "What business do you have with me? I don't even know you, leave me alone or hurry up and state your business with me." He could feel a cold change come over himself after she had spoken. He no longer felt concerned with whether or not she saw him as a threat.
She spoke again, at first a whisper then she spoke louder, apologizing to him. He ignored the apology however, as it felt completely empty to him. This woman wanted something. It seemed as if a chill could be felt just by looking to his eyes then, and he replied to her questions with skepticism heavy on his voice. "You may call me Streea, Micca." He paused for a moment then, considering just walking away now. He couldn't, not yet at least, he needed to know if she had seen his mark. Perhaps she had come to meet him, that would certainly explain her rudeness.
"What brings you to the dark forest this night? One would think someone such as yourself would be safe inside a city at this time. You aren't lost, are you?" He was being overly rude himself, but he had decided that he didn't like this Micca. Perhaps she could prove useful however. He was almost ready to give up searching the Gloomwood and declining the contract. He loathed to do it however, and knew that if he did he would not be able to take another bounty from Balefire for along time to come. He definitely did not want that, however much he disliked the area.
Reluctantly, he decided he would be nicer to the woman until he was certain she knew nothing of his mark.
Autumn - March 29, 2005 12:07 AM (GMT)
Autumn really didn't like the rudeness that Streea had showed her, although she did deserve it, but she really didn’t care about that because she told him that she was sorry, and he just threw it back in her face. Autumn really needed to find a way out of this forest but this just set her off, she was not the one to play around with things, she was a very serious person, when she wanted to be that is. “Just so you know, I can take care of myself, I don’t need to be inside a city if I don’t want to be, do I look like a little kid to you?” Autumn’s face began to turn red from her anger, if this guy made her mad enough then, this might just lead to a fight. “Also just so you know, yes Im lost, I was trying to get to the Village of Kellen when I guess I went the wrong way and I ended up in this damn city, and somehow I wondered into this forsaken forest.” Autumn calmed down a bit after getting what she had to say out, although she was still a very angry person at the moment, all this could have been avoided if the man would have just kept on walking and minded his own damn business.
“You know if you were going to start something then you shouldn’t have even come up to me, I tried to be nice to you, I really didn’t have to apologize for being so rude to you, I tried to say that I was sorry, but you didn’t even try to listen to it, you just start being rude to me, I don’t think that’s very nice.” Although Autumn made it sound like she hated this person because he was being very mean to her, she kind of liked how he acted it was mean and rude, she liked that for some reason. Maybe these two could get along, even though there introductions weren’t so good, Although Autumn wasn’t sure how Streea felt at the moment, which was probably very pissed at her but she didn’t care, she thought this was all kind of funny, but she was still mad. “If want me too I can be a very mean person, I could draw my sword right now, but I’ve kept myself from doing that so far, I really don’t want to have to fight in the middle of the night, by this beautiful lake, which gives a little light around this area.”
The rain began to pick up again, which made the area a bit darker and colder, this made Autumn more furious than she already was.”Stupid rain, I wish it would just go away.” Autumn muttered to herself.
Mosvani - March 29, 2005 04:53 AM (GMT)
He listened to her story of how she came to be here, noticing that her faced had turned red. While it might have been embarrassment, he knew better. That was the look of someone angry, and he took small pride in aggravating her apparently more then she did to him.
She went into a rant suddenly then about him being rude and threatening him. His face began to twitch slightly as the rain began to pour down on them. Then the twitching turned into full blown laughter, he just couldn't hold it in anymore. Perhaps she really did belong in a city, but at least she had spirit. And a mouth, one that he definitely did not like.
Still chuckling softly, he responded to her. "Perhaps you can be a mean person. Instead of finding out just how mean you can be, what say you we get out of here? I grow weary of the darkness here, and while I may not like your attitude I at least have found entertainment in it. The least I can do is lead you out of the forest. However, if you would prefer to go alone, then I suggest you head to the west until you exit the woods and eventually come to the Debon planes. Kellen will be to the north.
Not waiting for a reply, he closed his eyes briefly for a moment and he knew which way was north. He turned west then, and began walking through the woods further into the darkness. He really did loathe this place, and if he didn't have a reason to come back then that was all the better.
Autumn - March 30, 2005 05:12 AM (GMT)
Autumn rolled her eyes, she knew that this man thought she was stupid, but at least he had offered to lead her to the exit of this forest. Autumn had been very stupid though, but that was just Autumn, starting things but in the middle of it she just changes her mind, she really needed to fix that it’s a bad habit of her’s. “Wait!” Autumn yelled out to Streea, hoping to stop him. “I would like it very much if you could lead the way out of this forest, but I do have a question for you, before we set out for the exit.” This whole time, Autumn never had a chance to ask Streea, well she had plenty of chances but she just never took them, instead she decided to take the not so nice approach and just started yelling at him. This was her chance to get what she wanted though, a way out of the forest, but she thought she just might ask him why he had been in the forest.
Autumn caught up with Streea, which had taken off with out waiting for a response from Autumn. “Well, yea I know I’ve been a pain in the ass to you, but that’s just me for people.” Autumn told Streea with a slight giggle. “Well what might you have been doing in this forest? I never got around to asking you earlier, I was a little bit rude to you.” Autumn did not know why she was nice to this person, probably because after all the pain she had given him, he still did not jump straight into a fight with her, like most people did. Even though most of the time Autumn started stuff with people, she really didn’t know better she was just being herself which sometimes can be a very rude.
Autumn knew not what Streea would say to her, but she hopped that he might be nice about it, even though he really shouldn’t because of how she acted toward’s him at first. The rain began to slowly pick up and the sky darken more and more by the passing second, it was almost dark enough to were Autumn would have to have some kind of light just too see the area around her, and where she was walking.
Mosvani - April 1, 2005 04:49 PM (GMT)
Mosvani has a strange feeling as he walked on, the rain pounding down about them now. When he had first met her, she had seemed like a lost girl. Now he could feel the unmistakable aura of one overflowing with evil. She must have been hiding it good for him to not have noticed it before and it put him on edge slightly.
She had caught up now, and was asking him questions. He stopped at looked at her, unable to see the aura but definitely able to feel it. Perhaps he was beginning to slip, how had he missed that? He thought about lying to her, but changed his mind. She still seemed to look mostly lost, but it felt as if something had changed about her besides the evil aura. He had tensed up, and noticing this he slowly forced his body to un-tense so that it might be loose if she meant to attack him.
"I was looking for a man by the name of Jimkal, who had been spotted as coming in and out of this forest frequently. I have grown tired of living in this forest for the past few days, and you coming a long convinced me it was time to go. Perhaps we will run into him o nthe way out, but I doubt it. I wish to leave this place, and move on. Any other questions, or may we leave now?"
He had to admit to himself that he had underestimated her, and he reasessed her. She didn't look to be too much in a fight, but he had already been reminded once of why you should never underestimate anyone. So far, it had not been a deadly reminder, but it was one that had stung in any case. He was untense now, ready for a fight if it came to it.
The rain had now drenched his clothes, but they would not hamper his movement to much. The darkness would be a bigger threat, especially if any of the Umbra Feles were about. He had yet to encounter any, and he had no wish to. They were vicious animals when tamed, and a untamed one would be very difficult to fight. Once again he was reminded of just how much he loathed this place and was ready to be gone.
Autumn - April 9, 2005 02:28 PM (GMT)
Autumn’s body began to feel weird, she did not know what it was but she felt something inside of her, something deep down that seemed to be trying to take control of her. She was not sure but she had a good feeling that it was the demon inside of her, the one she sold her soul to, it had promised her great power if she were to merge with it, and so she did. At first Autumn never felt anything, she had thought that the whole thing with the Kyton was fake, that is until now, she could feel it and she knew that it was the Kyton. Autumn knew not what to think, but she could since slowly that she was losing control of her own actions, this demon inside wanted blood and soon she would not be able to control it, and it would get what it wanted.
“So you were looking for a man by the name of Jimkale. I have never heard of that person, but if you would like I could help you find this person, but you would much rater get out of the forest, wouldn’t you?” Autumn already knew the anser to that question, which was to get out of the forest. Autumn was losing control of her body at a rapid pace now, she could feel the Kyton very well now, and it was just getting stronger, at a very rapid rate. Autumn no longer had control now, the Kyton had taken her completely, she drew her blade and was ready to attack. Autumn was no longer Autumn she was not the Kyton demon, and when she finally gained control again, if she did, she would remember nothing about what happened.
“Die you damn fool, I will kill you and feed your body to the Umbras!” Autumn held her blade and was ready to attack, she started dashing at Streea, when she was about two feet from her, she swung her blade horizontal at Streea’s mid section, hoping to cut him and just maybe kill him.
Mosvani - April 14, 2005 01:21 AM (GMT)
He wasn't surprised by her suddenly attacking him, but he was surprised at her great speed in doing so. Mosvani barely had the time to draw his shadow daggers to defend against the attack before having to make a desperate jump backwords.
As it turns out, he wasn't fast enough to avoid the attack completly, as he felt a sudden coolness on his mid-section. The woman seemed to had changed into something else entirely, he sense of evil eminating from her was almost gagging him and their was a almost feral look in her eyes now. He did not like this situation at all. He needed to escape some how.
Retreating would be the best course of action. Quickly, speaking under his breath, he said Drii Quena and his body melted away into mist. He floated away from her quickly, melding into the darkness, as he ran away. The woman was clearly mad, and he had no wish to get involved in a fight with one such as her. They always posessed unnatural strength, and just weren't worth the danger to himself. He left her in the darkness, to do who knows what.
Autumn - April 22, 2005 05:11 PM (GMT)
Autumn looked around, her eyes turned bloodshot red when the man disappeared, Autumn still believed that the man was in the area and so she yelled out to him. “Come out and fight me you coward!” Autumn stood there waiting for something, but nothing happened, she began to believe that the man really left, but would not fully accept it. “If you won’t come out then I will come and find you myself!” Autumn searched the area for a couple of minuets, but found nothing, the man had truly left, this enraged Autumn, but there was nothing to take her rage out on.
Autumn fell to her nee’s, her eyes began to turn a normal color again, and she was slowly beginning to control herself again, but she still was not in full control yet. After a couple of minuets of kneeling down on the ground, Autumn was finely in control of herself again, she could now see and think properly again, this was a good thing, but she did not know how long it would last “I wonder what happened, all I remember was blacking out, I hope nothing really bad happened.”
Autumn really had no reason to hang around here any more so she decided to look for the exit to this forest, she started walking deep into the forest, searching until she found an exit.
