Bruenor and Ranoth had been traveling for days until they reached the Deep Cities. They had been making plan all along but there were still some doubts to be heard.
“Do you really want to go through with this?” Ranoth asked.
“Of course I do!, Me brother died by that bastard's hand!” Bruenor said.
“But that would mean going back to the place we left because we hated it..” Ranoth said.
“To hell with that!”, Bruenor yelled,” My brother died! Your family died! Where is your loyalty!”
“But my family, hated me.”
“Yet they were your family, she destroyed what was yours!“
“But.. Oh forget it.” Ranoth said when he realized Bruenor’s stubbornness.
“Well, here we are.” said Bruenor.
They had arrived at the Deep Cities. A guard, who recognized them led them inside to meet with their governor, Drah Ironstone. They had a brief discussion in which Drah tried to convince them to not to go but Bruenor’s determination was to great.
They left the deep cities and after a short walk they arrived at the cave leading to the tunnels. Both stared into that dark cavern a long while. Their thoughts traveled back to when they had left the Underdark feeling overjoyed. Now they were going back, back into hell.
