Title: Waking in the Mists...
Nora Thalim - March 19, 2005 12:46 AM (GMT)
So long had she been there, weak in her ancient, un-aging body succumbing to the cold mists that sprayed her in the cave. Her body was strewn across the glistening floor in suspended-animation, mind waiting for the time when she would rise again. Scars were sprinkled over her body, faint against her pale skin. The stringy, disheveled, curly obsidian locks that threw themselves onto the cave floor looked like serpents, and one might call her Medusa, were it not for her wings. The soaked wings lay limp and cloaked her slender figure like a shield. The shoulder of these wings were black, and the main feathers were white sprinkled with grey and ticked here and there with brown.
A sudden twitch evoked from deep within the mind of this creature caused her body to stir. Little bits of color fled back to her face, cautiously venturing through her body like a fox being introduced to a new territory. An eye opened slowly, revealing a striking green iris, and the other eye followed. Her dry, cracked lips parted carefully, and she uttered a small noise, regaining a long-lost voice. She started to sit up, supporting herself with her arms. The graceful, pale wings slid off the floor. She was standing up now, leaning against one of the large crystals that jutted up from the bottom of the den like great butresses. The winged creature shook violently, splashing drops of water through the dense cave air.
She blinked, trying to bring back memories she had lost in sleep. The first word to come back was "Nora", and after contemplating the meaning of that word she deduced that it was her name.
"Nora,"she said through now bleeding lips. Nora's voice was softer now, and melodic.
After speaking her name, a flood of memories came back to her, and she remembered that she was one of the Avariel Elves.
"Is that why I'm here?"she thought,"To keep the race from dying off? I'm a reserve?"
Nora's eyes flickered over the glittering cave in awe. It was beautiful, the pinnacles of crystal refracting light onto the walls, making them dance with rainbows. She suddennly realized there was the hypnotic sound of water in the background. Turning on her heel, she came face to face with a wall of water. She was startled, and began looking for a way out, praying she wasn't trapped. After some searching, she came upon a narrow path to the right of the waterfall.
Wings spread, she carefully slipped through the gap between the rock and the water. Her face was grazed by tiny bullets of water, and she squinted to keep the stinging drops out of her eyes. She stumbled out onto where the path was wider, mouth gaping in awe.
"Imythess,"she whispered.
Zero - March 19, 2005 02:16 AM (GMT)
Zero was not lost in the crystal caves despite his first visit to the caves. But Zero could always manage to keep himself on track and not get lost.
As he walked through out the gigantic crystal caves he held out a palm and above, hovered a dancing ball of fire. He didnt know what to expect in this place but of course crystals every now and then. But about having company he wasnt so sure if anyone would run into him or if he would run into some one else. What ever the fact was, he was dying for a match with anyone. It has been a long time since he had faught and it was now getting to him. He remembered his last fight with Zorgn, it was his best fight he'd have so far. But many memories filled in Zero's head as he kept walking and walking. He remembered the first he had with Zorgn. It was almost ridiculous but it happened.
He kept walking and noticed a girl, seemingly losing her way around the caves.
Excuse me but may I help you? You seem a bit lost.
His ball of fire illuminated the area around him and looked at the woman he spoke to. Zero would have no problem in helping her find her way through the difficult caves. But in favor he would ask for a quick match. He wanted to know how skilled he was with his pyro magic. He hadn't used that in a long time. Not since Jasmine was last around.

Nora turned quickly, hand on the hilt of her sword. She relaxed a bit, sensing no danger. The man in front of her was winged as well, and she wondered if he was there to retrieve her.
"W-where are we?"she stammered. Feeling stupid, she cast her glance down to the floor. The glitter of the caves illuminated her face, moving and swimming across her face like the aurora.
Somewhere inside of her she felt a deep hatrid for the angel that stood in front of her, though she didn't know why. Or perhaps, the hatrid was not for him, but rather his kind. They had shoved her into this cave hadn't they? The anger she felt in her heart gave her strength, and she knew what to do if the male angel in front of her pulled a wrong move.
Mosvani - March 19, 2005 02:51 AM (GMT)
Mosvani was taking a break from work in the city, relaxing in the Memphis Falls area. He had heard a great many tales regarding the caves here, and the supposed giant crystal found within. He had seen no giant crystal, instead the walls here lined with crystals giving off numerous colors. It made the cave unusually bright, and gave it random colors. He found it truly beautiful.
He continued a long the path, feeling the cool mist from the entrance on his face as he came closer to the exit. Later he would fly high above the falls, to see what it looked like from the birds perspective. Smiling, he rounded a corner and heard voices of a man and woman. Instantly becoming alert, he moved as quietly as he could until he was in range to hear what was being said.
The woman responded to something asked by the man. ""W-where are we?" She was stammering, and sounded weak. Daring to go a bit closer, he could now barely make them out. They were both angels of some type, that much was obvious. The mans back was to Mosvani, and he could see he was holding a ball of fire in his hand. She didn't seem to look like she was in danger, tho her hand was still on her sword.
He did not like this situation. Angels tended to have a distinct dislike for all things relating to fiends, and he couldn't blame them. However, that meant he was probably in for a fight when out numbered. Quickly he decided to retreat back to a distance where he could still hear but not see them. Should it come to a fight, he wanted to have stealth on his side. He crouched down then, and emptied all thoughts as he prepared himself for a fight he didn't really want to be in.
Nora Thalim - March 19, 2005 03:11 AM (GMT)
Nora's attention flickered from the floor to a bit of a way beyond the angel that stood before her. A word came to her again, just as her own name had. "Mosvani", said a voice in her head.
"What?"she whispered.
"Mosvani,"said the voice again, more persistant this time.
Her face became contorted with fear, afraid and confused from this voice that continued to repeat the name of someone she couldn't remember. She shook it off, returning her attention to the movement she had seen.
She disregarded the angel for a moment, and listened to the voice that was now shrieking the name in her mind.
"Mosvani!"she finally called out, obeying the powerful command in her mind. She clapped her hands across her mouth, thinking of how horribly strange she must seem.
Zero - March 19, 2005 03:24 AM (GMT)
Zero didnt know what was going on, but he did know that this girl didnt know where she was at. Zero didnt mind helping her but she had a look on her face as if he wasnt being accepted. But what for? He didnt know.
But he didnt care right now. If this ended up in a fight Zero would be eager enough to do so right now. Is somthing bugging you? Zero could feel another presence around somewhere. It felt like an ambush. Zero kept alert and was more aware of his surroundings.
((Sorry for this quick post, but I get busy alot and I had to do somthing fast.
I will do better next time. Sorry about this post. :/ ))
Nora Thalim - March 19, 2005 03:31 AM (GMT)
((It's ok))
"I-i,"Nora stuttered nervously,"I don't know."
She began to become frustrated, and her hands were curled into tight fists. She shifted her weight from one foot to the other. Her head was still pounding out the word "Mosvani". The word became overwhelming, and she slumped to the ground, clasping her hands over her ears.
"MOSVANI!"she screamed against her will.
((By the way, Mosvani and Nora know each other. She, of course, fails to remember this.))
Zero - March 19, 2005 03:52 AM (GMT)
(OOC:Ok then.)
Zero saw the girl fall to her knees and shout out a name. It was strange and Zero didnt know what for. Obviously somthing was wrong with her and somthing was bugging her more. Mosvani? Whats that? He really had no clue to what was going on with her. She could have been insane and crazy in the head. Mind games perhaps. Zero didnt know what it was but she wasnt doing well. Though he didnt expect any attacks. But poor Zero wanted to have a match just then. He would have had to save that for some other day.
Nora Thalim - March 19, 2005 04:00 AM (GMT)
"They-because he and I-they-you!"she stammered loudly. Little bits and pieces were coming back. Full of anger and re-found strength, Nora leapt to her feet.
"Mosvani! It's Nora!,"she cried. She remembered the agony they put her through. The torturing spells, the horrible whipping, and the questioning, it was all coming back. She unsheathed her sword and held it to the other angel's neck.
"Mosvani!"she cried again, green eyes wide with anger and vengence.
((Do you mind if we wait a bit so Mosvani can post?))
Mosvani - March 19, 2005 04:03 AM (GMT)
He was waiting patiently to see what would happen. He hoped they would just go away, sparing him the trouble of a fight. Their had been no sound coming, and he thought perhaps they had left when he heard someone call out. "Mosvani!" and he was puzzled for a moment. Puzzled by who would be calling his name, the voice had sounded vaguely familiar. Then it hit him, Nora! He was briefly pulled into a memory of her.
He was a young man then, looking to be in his mid teens. He was in the midst of learning his trade from the man he called father, tho he wasn't his real father. He had performed a job in the city, on his way home when he met a woman. She was a Avariel Elf, and was beautiful. She was the first person he had seen with wings besides himself, and was fascinated by the feathers. She had been weary of him at first, not trusting him because of the fiend blood inside him. Eventually, they became good friends.
He never told her about his job, but he could tell she knew. Sometimes when he would meet her after a job, she would look at him with sadness in her eyes before trying to act cheerful. Other times she would tell him to be careful, as if she knew he was heading into a dangerous job. Time passed, and one day she just didn't show up anymore. He searched for her for a while, never able to find out anything about her and the people not believing he had met an Avariel Elf.
He was pulled from his thoughts suddenly when he heard a scream. "Mosvani!!" He rushed forward then, brandishing his deadly knives that hummed softly in anticipation of being fed. His eyes glowed bright red, his anger boiling up as he thought she might be in danger and at the excitement of finding an old friend.
Nora was slumped on the ground, hand covering her ears as she trembled. The angel was standing their, back to him, but he could tell that he was aware of his approach and waiting for it. She jumped to her feet suddenly, stammering loudly and calling for him. She drew her sword then, pointing it at the angels neck. He didn't know what was wrong for her, but he was deeply concerned. He spoke harshly to the Angel then. "If you do not wish to die, douse the fire and walk slowly away. Do not make any sudden moves. If you have harmed her, I will kill you." Then in much gentler tone, he spoke to Nora. "Nora, it's me Mosvani. Are you alright? It's okay Nora, I'm here now. Talk to me."
He stood their then, daggers drawn and preparing to fight this angel in open combat. He would protect her, then he would find out what had happened to his friend. He stared intently at the Angel, looking for any signs of movement as he waited for the Angel to make his move.
(OOC: Sorry for the slow responce, im always kind of long winded so I kinda lag behind heh. I'll update in a moment to reflect what happened while I was typing.)
(OOC Edit 2: Updated)
Nora Thalim - March 19, 2005 12:01 PM (GMT)
((It's alright. I couldn't post my reply yesterday, I was exhausted! It was like 11:30 PM my time.))
Nora swiftly sheathed her sword and ran to Mosvani. She embraced him quickly, and all of her memory returned to her.
"What did I miss?"she said, smiling though her eyes were full of fear.
Her wild raven hair flowed behind her as she unsheathed her sword for the second time, and flew a bit above the angel. It was hard at first for her to fly, for her wings were still dripping with water. With a few wingbeats she shook the remaining water away. She hovered above Mosvani and the angel, prepared to fight if the angel tried to fly.
She twirled the sword like a baton absentmindedly, while her bright green eyes burned through the angel, trying to read his next move. Her mind was ready for battle, aided by the return of her memory and the sight of Mosvani's face. Rage and vengance enveloped her heart.
"You know what your kind has done, angel,"she snarled,"To lock me up in a cave, to torture me, to tell me my pain was a just punishment for being friend to a fiend! Mosvani is my only friend, never shall I return to my own kind!"
And with that her heart darkened, and the part of her that was good was diminished. Her whole appearance changed as her heart became shadowed by her rage. She was still as beautiful, but with a dangerous flare, and her eyes were deeper as though her mind had become more complex. The thing most changed by her shift in heart was her wings. The original black, grey, white, and brown color scheme had quickly changed to navy blue, light blue, grey-blue, and black.
