Title: Session Two

Ranoth Vraen'lic - March 16, 2005 03:02 PM (GMT)
[Session Two of Ranoth’s training under Drizzt Do’Urden]

After a couple hours sleep, Ranoth was ready to study under Drizzt once again.
Ranoth approached Drizzt, who was in the healer’s room, still worried about the young trainee.
“So I think you know how to wield your weapons now?” Drizzt asked.
“And what, I didn’t before?” Ranoth said making both drow laugh.
“Ha-ha, Well anyway, today you’re going to learn the agility part of fighting. Rolls, doges, jumping, and the list goes on,” Drizzt said, previewing that lesson.
“Well let’s get started!” Ranoth exclaimed.
“Ye know I’ve never seen a drow with such enthusiasm as you!” Drizzt complimented.
“Well part of it comes from the fact that I can go and defend myself against Bruenor when I get back, and the rest is just the fact that I can kill Quenthico’sun when I’m done here,” Ranoth replied.
“Good point, those are plenty good enough reasons to be enthusiastic!” Drizzt said, showing his point of view.
It was early in the morning, so not many people were in the fencing circles or in the outdoor arena, so the two took one of the bigger fencing circles.
“Leave your weapons,” Drizzt instructed Ranoth, “you will be relying on pure agility to save you here.”
“Well it’s not like I’m not agile, considering that I was a rogue when I got here,” Ranoth pointed out to Drizzt in complete confidence.
“I guess-, anyway, the sooner we get started the better,” Drizzt replied.
The two stood at opposite sides of the circle, almost on the two inch high wooden barrier. Drizzt drew Icingdeath and then Twinkle, and then charged. He slashed just below Ranoth’s neck, missing because Ranoth had ducked below the scimitar, and out of range of the other.
“Good, I see you already know how to do this,” Drizzt said.
“Like I said, I am a rogue, or should I say was a rogue,” as soon as Ranoth had spoken he jumped up in the air and pulled his katana out and slashed towards Drizzt. He only hit air as usual; Drizzt had sidestepped to avoid the unexpected attack.
“Ha-ha, good job if you’re trying to kill a drow matron mother,” Drizzt said, “but I would advise you not to do that if you’re trying to kill any other race.
“But I thought my goal here was to kill a drow matron mother,” Ranoth countered, backing of from Drizzt.
“Well I guess so, but you are actually very agile, and I cannot train you much more!” Drizzt told Ranoth, “Come back when you are ready for the final test.”
“What’s the final test?” Ranoth asked Drizzt, but Drizzt had already walked away to another fencing circle to help the other trainees.

Bruenor - March 17, 2005 01:23 PM (GMT)
"Message!!, Message for Ranoth!!!"yelled a young dwarf as he ran into the acadmy. Ranoth and Drizzt had been sparring in the arena when the messenger came.
"What is it?" Ranoth asked.
"This is a message from the deep cities;Bruenor is well and he is on his way here, he says you and him have many things to discusse."
"Yes that is true, what..?,oh forget it he'll tell me when he gats back. Thank you."
As Ranoth watched the runner sped throught the gate he wondered what had happened to Breunor..

"I need to go and find Bruenor, and see what the idiot has done this time," Ranoth told Drizzt after the messenger had left, "I cannot finish the training at the moment, but I will most likely come back for it's completion."
"Alright, it's not like I'm leaving, and I can't die, so go and help your friend," Drizzt replied, apparently not caring when Ranoth finished the training.
Ranoth sheathed his katana, and walked out the doors of the only place he had ever felt welcomed...
