Title: Deep within the dark
Description: Awoken from exile, the forgoten...
Drakeon Kavu Alexander - March 12, 2005 12:13 AM (GMT)
A small force of mages wrestled a person deep within the lower levels of the cathedral. He was severly weakened, and near death, but still faught them, and gave them a hard time. They had to switch out the ones holding him, to let others rest. Death would not come to him, they presumed a god wanted him alive for some purpose unkown to them, maybe to torture for the rest of his days. And tourture it was.
Deep within the basement, in the catacomes, they inprisoned him. Hidden under a grate, a stone wall was lal that one would see after reaching that point, if they were lucky enough to spot the one drain amung the hundreds. Even if one could get into it, and past the wall, his coffen was nothign but metal and chains, bound by magic. One might not ever get in.
Within the many years he was there, one or two adventurers got to the wall, even tried to dig into it. They mysteriously died, of course by the curse on the walls. They died of fright, for touching the wall, sounds of the screaming of those killed in battle by the one trapped within.
He was forgotten over the many years of his tomb. Asleep in the "Dark Sleep" But far longer than usual amung his kind, even for the greats. But though he was asleep he was aware the whole time. Every moment of it. His mind ravanged by the mages his memory and mind lsot sanity for a long time. His body weakened to a living corpse, with no pulse to a human's sences, if one were abel to get to him. But as time passed, the magic that bound him weakened. He lived through the desitigration of the great city above. Till it was destoyed and deserted and taken by nature. He felt it all, and could do nothing but wait and listen, and just exist. But he could feel the magic fade. He felt the worl change around him, and he dreamed every night the thousands he had killed....they haunted him, and waited for his return, but said it would be a long long time. His penence.
It was time.
He could feel it, his time to awaken had come, years of tourture, his streagth grew somehow.
"Return" He heard from some distant source, and he woke up, hittign his head on the metal insides of the coffeen. Screaming louder than most humans could manadgem his eyes glowing red, his chains runsted as well as his tomb. The magic was gone that bound him, but it still kept his mind fogged. But everythign else was returning. He screamed again, blood curtling. His body shook in convlutions, and the coffeen was eventualy broken.
He crawled out still weak, and screamed again, his cries breaking deep into and echoing within the ruined city...
Bahamut - March 12, 2005 05:23 PM (GMT)
Bahamut was sitting in the rafters of the Cathedral, bored out of his mind. He had had to sell his home, so now he had made this place his home instead. He liked it here, though. It suited him alot. But he still couldn't figure out why he felt so empty. He continued to think about this, when he heard the cries. "Wow, that's something new." He shrugs, then jumps down to the floor. His clawed feet sunk into the rotted wood of the altar he landed on, then he jumped down to the ground. "Well, if it wants me, it'll come to me I suppose." It might have. Bahamut reeked of darkness these days. A few days back some zombies had tried to make him command them in taking over The Underdark, but he wanted nothing to do with it. So, he came back here, and now waited for the thing that had made the cries to show itself.
Drakeon Kavu Alexander - March 12, 2005 05:43 PM (GMT)
Cold relization hit him after he got a hold of himself. His body was withered and dry, and by all means should not be alive, but by some power of will, he was. Though he would have wished for death. The faces darted across his mind once more. Hearing their screaming...now their curses. He heard somthing far above him. It was several stories above him in fact. He wanted to see waht it was, but was low on blood. Rats...they seemed not afraid of them, for they were larger than normal rats...He almost climed back into the coffeen to die, but desperate times called for desperate measure. He grabbed one and brought it to him in a flash of movment. It sqeacked in protest, but could do nothing. Some of the ohers ran from him, he caught all he could, draining them all.
Slightyly refreased he could move about, but it would be a time before he got ass his strength back. He realized that he was already as stongg asbefore they had captured him, this amazed him, but he soon realized the amount of time he had been in the "dark sleep". He smiled darkly to himself as he gilded over the the wall. Part of it the mortor was crumbling, neought for a smlal man to get through. He made it bigger and stood in the sewers. Abandoned sewers so it was just a deep freash well, but he saw the compartments above. He jumped to the grate and exspected ot have to work at it to break it, it immediatly fell, old with age.
"Od-" He tried to speak but his voice was still revovering. His dark eyes glowed green, and he leaped up the the next room. It had been abandoned as well...it was a bak way form the sewers into the Cathedral. A broken mirror to one side, and decaying furniture all around. Mistresses courters for the cathedral men perhaps...looking at a skeleton of a brush amung other feminie things.
Then he rememberd the sound above, ans he stopped motionless. Listening again...
Bahamut - March 12, 2005 05:51 PM (GMT)
He jumps down onto the ground, and starts walking up and down the aisle of pews. He could sense the being below him, could sense it's power. It was impressive, but there were quite a few with the same or better. But he waited for it, pacing, thinking about things around Imythess. They were quite Chaotic lately, which he was glad about.
Drakeon Kavu Alexander - March 12, 2005 06:01 PM (GMT)
He was there still deep under the decaying place, motionless as a statue, and he heard it...heard it pacing back and forth, dust falling down into the deeo gashing holes through the floors. It was waiting on him, whatever it was. He smiled, thinking blood at first..but then shunned the blood drive away, somthign he had not been able to do so easily as before. He noteced it did not seem his body needed as much blood as it use to, but he still needed a lot to fill him. He dicided or meet this person, or things, the fisrt he had seen in a many many years. A city had thrived and dies and been abandoned in the time he saw no one, but only heard them above. He darted up the boweles of the dieing place,a nd reached near the top, a stone wall stood in his way between him and live beings. He punde dit furst, making a small crack deep and almsot see though, but he soon rememberd there had to be a switch. An old slot wher a tourch would go received his full attention. He hisitated looking at the wall where it was at, noting its power its heart beat its movments, then he pushed the lever...exited he was finaly free, but to what kind of a world? A dead on? He would soon find out...the door opened...His silver hair instantly simmering by the moonlight from a hole in the celing, his eyse glowed Emerald green, with his face pale as a statues its face emotionless, his cothes dust, and almost falling from his lean musculaer body. This was the weakened form of the once Red Plauge...alive agian to face...
Bahamut - March 12, 2005 06:12 PM (GMT)
Bahamut turns at the sound, eyes turning snakelike and green, and his fangs coming out of the roof of his mouth. He then notices the look of the creature. He looked pretty strong. Bahamut himself didn't look to strong, but he was. "Well, welcome to my home, I suppose. Though it's very rude to come in without knocking, as some humans might say......" The light was absorbed by his green scaled skin, but reflected from his eyes. "Well, don't you have anything to say?"
Drakeon Kavu Alexander - March 13, 2005 12:10 AM (GMT)
The beat he know stood across from him was like a humanistic dragon of sorts. Scales and fangs, the usual, but also terratoral and somewhat honory it might seem. He look around the ruins, holding a smirk back from him calling his own house, for say. It was not his, but claimed his. Drakeon regarded it for a while, not yet awnsering. He noted the creature closely, and took a few steps closer, wondering if there were anymore hiding away. Listening.
"But we are not humans anymore, or ever were...or were we now...creature of the new world..." His tone was quite for now, not wanting to tax his voice just yet, but the power in his words still remaind. It had a ring to it, that caried into ones mind, even into ones soul.
"I wonder how long I have been gone..." He said ot himself, lookign away from whom he talked to, and walkted to where the front of the pew would be, grafully steping on planks that would have fellen other wise form a humans feet. He wanted to test this creature, and test he did. By turning his back on him as if the room was almost new to him.
Bahamut - March 13, 2005 12:17 AM (GMT)
He snarls. "As if I would ever have been a human. Hate them. Vile, nasty things. As for how long you've been gone, depends on when you left." He notes the person had turned his back. He looks up to the rafters, where his glaive was. But he could easily get it if needed. "Anyways, why do call me creature of the new world? I'm only a Barbazu Snake Charmer."
Drakeon Kavu Alexander - March 13, 2005 12:27 AM (GMT)
He stopped looking at the building conditions, noting the weapon up in the rafters where he must have jumped down, and turned towards him. "I was a human, one would say...they are fun to....use. He kep this face expetionless, remembering many leaderships positions he got by just talking or bribing or mearly outwiting them. But he shrugged the thougts away. "A Barbazu Snake Charmer...interesting....as to how long i have been here...Last I was being dragged here by a number of powerfull humans I beileve...and this Catherdral was...new...and the city was booming....I have heard many wars, many battles...so much time as past....I lost track of the years...of the centries, of the-" He cut off pondering to himself in his head. Must have been more than a millinium...could have been.
He conlcuded after such thoughts that things would be very different once he took a wandering to the outside world. Could he trust this Barbazu?
Bahamut - March 13, 2005 01:37 AM (GMT)
He looks at the creature. "Jeez, you're the first person I've ever met that's older than me. But human mages, huh? They can be annoying, but useful to manipulate, at times."He smiles slightly. He looks around the Cathedral. "Well, you can have it if you want, I've just been trying to find a place to stay where I won't be bothered."
Drakeon Kavu Alexander - March 13, 2005 01:55 AM (GMT)
Drakeon permited a small laugh. He himself was not use to being old at all. But He looked over the place once more, studying it. "I would not like ot stay here at all, in fact I would not like to stay anywhere near here...Obviously you know why...." He sighed. Being imprisioned for so long in one space he wanted to venture out. He looked into the creatures eyes, pericing him. "I hope I have not missed much....are the Drows still alive?" He ponders what the awnser could be and kicked a small pebble down into the cracks of the decrepit place.
Bahamut - March 13, 2005 02:43 PM (GMT)
He nods."Yes, the Drows are alive, and you can find a few around up top, but most hide in the Underdark, in their city. Why do you ask?" He was curious to know. He himself kept distance from all Elfish creatures if he could, which he couldn't.
Drakeon Kavu Alexander - March 13, 2005 11:05 PM (GMT)
Drakeon ponderd the question for a moment. "The elven in me is Drow, so I shall seek them out first, for who else woudl accept a vampire, half hrow half human? Amung othere things." He stopped there, not wanting to let out to much to some one he did not totaly know just yet.
Bahamut - March 15, 2005 03:49 AM (GMT)
He smirks slightly. "I met a vampire once. She was very rude though, tried to kill me. Not pretty."He kept back the fact that they had never gotten a chance to finish their battle. But he needn't know that. No, definitely not. But this man interested him, he'd never met anyone like him before.
Drakeon Kavu Alexander - March 15, 2005 04:03 AM (GMT)
Drakeon could tell something else was amiss, but he was not one to pry for the time being, he pondered him for a moment jsut before responding. "So you do not see many vampire's? Are they rare, or maybe just hidden away?" He had thought of this many times before, and wondered after they captured him did they hunt all the rest down till the very last, or what? So much could have heppend sence then.
Bahamut - March 16, 2005 06:27 PM (GMT)
"Most vamps just hide away, because most other races don't like them. By the way, there are new Gods and Goddesses now. I was one of them, till I was kicked out. That led me to become what I am now, a demon with a grudge."
Drakeon Kavu Alexander - March 17, 2005 04:18 PM (GMT)
"They hide?.." Drakeon seemed mad at this point. The vampires aperently had lost a lot of influence. He continued. "So you were once a god.....I dont seem to recall...do they revolutionize the gods often?" He paused to think about this, not sure how to take anyting yet.
