Daemion has been wandering this place for quite a while now. He has grown restless and quite bored with all those weak; pathetic people he keeps having the misfortune to come in contact with. And so, Daemion took to the woods. Having nothing else to do he aimlessly wandered, quickly leaving the path laid out and taking his own. Cutting through the occasional tangle of brush with that rusted sword of his, Daemion continued forward until something caught his attention. It was something .. different than what one would expect to find in this forest. Of course, what exactly would one except out of this place? One of those Umbra, maybe? No ... Daemion had no interest in those 'stupid' felines. You know what they say about cats and dogs? .... Hmm.

No, whatever it was that was currently residing in this Gloomwood, it didn't belong. In fact, to Daemion it seemed to belong here just about as much as Daemion himself belonged in the city. Which isn't saying much. And Daemion, being the sort of person ... well not really a person but ... anyways. Daemion being the sort of whatever that he is, put his weak, rusty blade away and drew his much finer weapon. It was something that he stole, of course (why spend money on anything when you can kill off someone who would never be missed, and take the item from them instead?)

Walking forward, his steps oddly light, Daemion only stopped when he came into view of a human-like figure. Whoever they were, did not notice Daemion as of yet. The fine weapon of which Daemion drew from his back, gave a slight, red glint as it was drawn. Only someone with inhumanly-accurate hearing would have been able to hear the weapon being drawn. Without a thought, Daemion crouched slightly. He waited for the person-or-whatever-it-was o trun around. Then Daemion would decide if the person was 'worthy' enough for Daemion to engage in a fight.

Vernon had began to take a strange liking to gloomwood. Sure it was filled with cat-like creatures and sure the darkness reduced the used of his natural darkvision, but he had found that he had several advantages over the place. Many of the people who adventured into the woods were often stupid and ignorant and very fun to play with. Vernon recalled when disliked the place, but that was before he had found the fools, Sephiroth and Eden. He had fun playing with both of them and enjoyed taking a bite out of some of Sephiroth's rotting zombies.

Vernon walked on the grass and found his way to a tree. He took out his shadow dagger and begand to carve into the bark of the twisted tree. He was thinking of making some note that would creep out anyone who were to read. Chances were against anyone reading it, but the idea seemed cool to Vernon at the moment. Before Vernon could carve his first letter, his attenive ears hear a faint scrapingfrom behind him. Vernon knew very well that was not a sound he would normally be hearing in Gloomwood. Vernon quickly stashed away his dagger and climbed up the tree. As he climbed he looked back to get a good veiw of what or rather who made the sound.

Vernon wondered what sort of creature would come so close to himself without giving some sign of smelling Vernon's foul order. Perhaps his nose was not working. Vernon saw no light source so either the man was another fool or he could see in the dark as well. "Who are you to dare come and disturb these woods. Unless you can prove you have a good reason your life shall be the price for your stupidity," Vernon boomed menacing before scampering from tree to tree till he was directly over Daemion.
