The wind mad a howling sound in the dark trees out side the city, the loud rustling of wind through the large, dark oaks audible even this far in the looming city walls. The street was quiet, this made Leeron nervous. His idea of a city was that it would be crowed and noisy, but this quiet was plain unnerving. Maybe it was just him, he thought as looked down the dark lane expanding ahead of him. He whirled around as he heard a low scuttling sound behind him, the howling of the wind sufficiently masking it so that he could not tell if it was the foot steps of someone lurking or just a weary animal making its way towards some form of food. Leeron always tended to be high strung in a place so dark like this; it was so hard for him to see where he was going with only the dim glimmer of torchlight to lead his way.
He walked toward the short side street to investigate, his eyes darting around the stone and wood framed walls for any sign of trouble, but as came closer to where he first heard the strange sound his heart stopped pacing as he caught sight of a stray dog, rather large-but a dog none the less.
Leeron suddenly found himself rather thirst from his endless pacing through the city to find a suitable Inn to rest, but so far his search had turned up nothing but suspicious looks and hostility. As the wind picked up his hood pulled at the side of his, but even this strong a wind did fail to persuade the darkness to leave, but it did manage to rattle a few shutters. Annoyed by the sound he looked up to find that it was not a shutter, but a sign rattling- a tavern it appeared, he decided to investigate. The large, stout door opened with a large creak as walked into the tavern, which was, as he had expected, was full with people, and some that he didn't even know what they were. He mumbled something to himself as he walk slowly past the tables to the bar man. "I'll have whatever passes for ale around here" He said coldly as he chucked a few coins on the counter...
