Title: To drink, to forget, to amuse.
FoxFire - February 14, 2005 08:46 AM (GMT)
The typical people hang around this place on a typical night. Music playing accented with the sound of glasses with their soft *clink* as they're knocked over, passed around, filled and refilled. Indistinct chatter of patrons and footsteps thud along the sawdust covered floor. Chairs scrape along the floor as peopel stand. Some in latching onto a passing barmaid, some as they dance on the unoffical dance floor just a short distance away.
Adrienne's in the middle of it all, except, she doesn't dance. Adrienne never was one to dance. She is here to drink though. Because for the longest time she has spent her life at work. And now was the time for play. But fun is suddenly forgotten, and Adrienne gives an slurred yell of "Cieco idiota! Watch where you are going before I kick your spiacente culo!" Because some drunken idot has been shoved into her and spilled her drink on her shirt. Adrienne doesn't like losing her drinks.
Besides that ... the fact of the matter is that Adrienne isn't exactly sober herself. Which is the reason why she has slurred both English and Italian words together in one unbroken sentence. She gives a half-threatening wave of the hand, as if in dimissal. Wiping whisky fro mher shirt she stood and walked to the bar. Quickly ordering herself another drink to replace the one she'd lost, her gaze shifts to the door as she waits for her new drink to arrive. And upon noticing someone enter through the door, Adrienne muttered. "Hopefully they'll provide some ... divertimento."
Kilari SpringFoot - February 15, 2005 02:56 AM (GMT)
The small cheshire neko sat behind the bar scratching her neck with her hind paw her claws extended only lightly and her tail laying flat against the ground behind her while her hands were placed before her to steady herself. Her ears drooped in a pleasured way and her head bobbed with every pass of her foot. Finally though after many minutes of scratching she satisfied her itches' need and stood peering over the bar top ears flicked back flat claws on her hands extended to look at those of the merrily drunk. She had been waiting back here a while having just come from the forest she was ready for a little play. And she had found just the place.
Kilari purred some as her cat slitted eyes focused and turned to slits the red fleck against storm gray back sets looked wickedly pleased. She tapped her nails gently across the wooden surface, ready to spring out and jump under the nearest table...then someone started hollering incoherently. Kilari's spring landed her in the rafters. She blinked terrified at the suddenly loud noise. Her large ears flicking back against her blonde and strawberry rooted hair as she looked down seeing Adrienne wipping her shirt. She shook herself and then blinked and watched her sit and order another drink. She tore her attention away from the intrugeing woman though and turned to look at a man passed out in a chair not far from the lady.
In a moment Kilari was slidding down the wall and slinking along under tables and around chairs to the man. His gold sack sitting so heavily she purred and slipped under the very chair he sat within. Her eyes looking up to stare hungerily at the bag and its contents. With a twiddle of her fingers she had grabbed the bottom and the other hand flicked out one claw and sliced the cord that hold it like it was butter. She purred and sat down under the man's chair and then opened her pack and placed it there with other sets of gold. She pured then slipped under his table to watch for others. Her eyes sliding back to Adrienne though curiousity killing her.

Well, Adrienne was completely oblivious to the feline, and what she was doing. Instead, her gaze had shifted away from the door, and back to the bar. It wasn't long before the tender had given Adrienne her drink, which she immidately took in her right hand. "Grazie. Uh ... I mean. Thanks."
Adrienne turned away from the bar tender, and glanced about the tavern. Finding nothing interesting, she simply sets to running a finger along the edge of her glass. Something interesting, was bound to happen sooner or later ... right?
Kilari SpringFoot - February 18, 2005 09:31 PM (GMT)
Kilari sniffed the air and looked up from counting the gold she had. She jumped up purring she bounced over a table and then back under another. Her paws keen and swift she came under the chair of FireFox and was looking up at the man beside her. She sniffed again seeing the gold satchel she reached for it but stoped noticing the glittery scarab he held on his belt her eyes grew round and her ears drooped in awe. She instead reached for it the other paw coming up to swipe away the ties that bound it and grabbed the scarab.
But the scarab's weight missing on the sober man was felt and he looked down to see it gone. He looked up Glaring at Kilari Under FireFox's chair. "OY " he lashed out and snatched at Kilari. She jumped back but wasnt fast enough. He caught her around her thin throat and picked up her tiny form. She clawed at his hands and kicked at him but he was glaring and choking the seemingly young neko. She coughed and started to loose feeling in her toes. The man grabbed her right paw and took the scarab. "Die you bloodie theif" He says in a thick scottish accent.

Idly moving her glass so that the liquid within swirled around, Adrienne glanced sideways for a moment. She thought she'd heard something, but at seeing nothing, attributed what she'd heard as just her mind playing tricks on her. A heel lightly tapped against one leg of her chair, and stopped at seeing something that looked ... slightly furred stickign out form under her chair. The next thing Adrienne knew, the man beside her and reached forward and snatched something from under her chair. It only took a moment, for Adrienne to grasp what was occuring. Lightly placing her glass on the bar, she stood, pushing her chair back with a foot as she did so.
"You sir. Are interuppting my drink. I like ... to drink in peace. And having the man next to me take his angers out on a kitten, is not peace. I suggest you calm yourself, lest you lose something more important than a mere jewel." Though her words were slightly slurred together, it was still obvious that Adrienne was not joking. But when the man ignored her, Adrienne took it upon herself to stop him from killing the other girl. With a swift flick of the wrist, Adrienne had drawn her sword. "I will allow you to take your angers out on me. Since I am armed. And I see you are as well. That is ... unless you're to scared of getting your spiacente culo royally kicked by a woman."
Kilari SpringFoot - February 23, 2005 09:06 PM (GMT)
Kilari blinked coaking gasping her eyes wrenched shut. She clawed at the man's hand claws digging in rather deeply. Though he seemed not to feel the pain. She heard through a fog of slurred words and the blood lose to her face she had heard Adrienne. Then the man's gripp loosed ever so slightly as his attention was draw to the woman. He glared "You would take blame for a scourgy lil theif?" He asks... Thats when Kilari hit the floor. Her tail curling around her leg in a protective way. She sat ears flicked back and looking pissed, like a child at a candy store whom had just been told no. She was holding around her neck with her hand like paws. She coughed out something "I ...I :hack hack cough cough: I am not a Kitten" Her words were mixed with a slight hiss at the end.
The man stood taller now looking at Adrienne waiting for her answer.

As the large man dropped the girl, Adrienne gave a bare glance to her. The girl seemed none-the-worse for wear, and so Adrienne turned her attentions back to the man. She'd ignored Kilari comment of not being a kitten. Adrienne didn't really care what the girl was or wasn't.
"I never said I'd take the blame. I just said you're annoying me. Now, you have one of two choices. Wait for me to kick your sorry ass out of this place. Or you could spare us both the trouble, and yourself the embarassment. ... And just leave." Adrienne smiled slightly; it wasn't a friendly one. It was more of a smirk, that meant Adrienne could very well take anything that came her way. "Hurry up, pick one. Sono stanco di d'attesa." Her sword was held in a light grip. The blade silently tapped against the floor. From her stance, one wouldn't think Adrienne as being much of a threat. But Adrienne had always bee ngood at decieving people.
Kilari SpringFoot - February 24, 2005 03:33 AM (GMT)
Kilari looked up from the floor and glared at the man her ears still flicked back. The man glared and replacing his scarab he turned away from Adrienne "I got my belongings back...better if I just go..." He says and heads out the door of the tavern his head held low like a whipped dog. Kilari watched him till he left. Then turning she looked at Fire Fox... "I could have handled it" Her young voice spouted defiance to elders. She turned away but only to spring onto the bar top and sit looking at the bar tender. Whom she held out a bag of coins. He took it from her and gave her only part of the bag back then pocketed many of the coins. He had hired Kilari to theif in his tavern... simply because he wasn't making enough for his likings. Kilari took what she had earned and smiled a little happy to see she had just a little more. She then glanced back at FireFox curiousity riddled her face and expressions.

Adrienne waited until the man had left the tavern. Once he was out the door, she laughed. Shaking her head, she put her sword away, and took her seat back at the bar. Adrienne glanced at the neko (for thats what she guessed Kilari was), at the comment of how she could take care of herself. "Oh really? Well ... you sure were doing a good job until I interferred, neh?" Adrienne was barely paying attention to the little 'business' between Kilari and the bar tender. It wasn't anything to convern herself with, and so Adrienne didn't bother questioning it.
Adrienne set one hand on the bar, and with the other she'd pciked up her drink. Quickly draining the glass fully of its contents, she placed the glass upside down on the bar. Adrienne decided that was enough for tonight. To get compeltly drunk would not be a good idea. After a moment, she glanced back to the girl, noticing her staring at her. "So .... Gattino ... You gotta question you need to ask. Or are you just staring at me for no partucluar reason, hmm?"
Kilari SpringFoot - February 24, 2005 09:16 PM (GMT)
Kilair quirked a brow and giggled suddenly at FireFox she purred lightly then shook her head "Oh I took care of myself alright..."She purred hopping down from the bar. She knew that this woman probably beleived her to be young...how wrong she would be. "I got his gold while You were speaking..." She smirked some. "Thanks for the help Love" She says her long tail lashing about behind her. She started towards another table... obviously about to do the same thing again...when suddenly her eyes caught on the sight of a large feline walking into the room. "EbonRain...!" She squeaked and the large DarkUmbra trotted over. Purring loudly the two rubbed heads and Kilari hugged her. "And Yes I was just staring at you...."She purred and then crawled up onto the back of the umbra who looked at Adrienne and blinks its large gray eyes.

Adrienne gave a shrug at that. She didnt' really care if her being a distraction had let the girl steal from the other man. Adrienne hadn't been stolen from (not that she had anything worth stealing anyways), and so she didn't care. "Yeah, you're welcome I guess. Whatever works, aye?" When the other started off to leave, Adrienne had turned to take her seat back at the bar. However she was distracted when she caught sight of the large, dark-furred feline entering the room. That was something ... well a bit unusual.
Adrienne studied the large umbra for a moment. She'd only seen one before, and it wasn't a tamed one. That creature had did quite a number on Adrienne, that she could remember. But in the end, Adrienne had been able to fight it off. so thats a subject that isn't really important to drone on about, eh? "Like I said. Whatever, works."
