Title: In need of a friend

Wandering the lands alone , rejected form city to city. Winding up in an old cathedral were an old woman sits on an old marble bench weeping tirelessly. He walked towards her in a concerning way. The woman startled by his devilish appearance backs up quickly. “Fear me not, I am only here to ask why you cry here in this old broken down church”. The woman can see through his evil appearance and look into his kind heart. The woman told him of the death of her husband and only son. She had said that they were on their way home from a hunting festival. When they were attacked by a giant creature. He could see how much this had left the woman feeling lonely and dead inside. He told her of some one that will always be there for her. He pointed up to the broken stained glass that had a faded picture of God and said “He will help you get through this and guide you to a better times". The woman thanked him for his words and got up and walked to the door. She turned around and looked at him with tears in her eyes and asked his name. He stood up and responded “S.O.S”. She wiped her tears away and said “Thank you S.O.S and God bless". Then she walked of out of site. He sat there praying hoping that the world would make room for some one like him. Hoping that he could just have some one other than god to talk to……

There was a clatter of hooves outside the cathedral, then the sound of something dropping to the ground, followed by the sound of the door opening, then quiet footsteps, coming through the cathedral, then they stopped, a few steps behind him, and there was the faint jingle of metal as the unknown being that had entered dropped to the cathedral floor.

There was a quiet sound of skittering claws, and an inquisitive face looked up at S.O.S., it's wide black eyes surrounded by in bronze scales, and small wings flapping as it watched him in silence. It gave a quiet chirp, and there was a quiet murmur from behind, more of a mumble than any actual speech, although the meaning was clear, once the animal, in a flutter of wings retreated to the cloak-covered form of the one it had entered with, who reached out a hand, scratched it lightly under the chin, murmuring something unintelligible again, before looking up, mismatched eyes-both violet, although the left was tinted with red-blinking at the being before her, not worried, not at all concerned with his strange appearance, the head tilting to one side, and a lock of blonde hair escaping the hood, coming into visibility.

He looked up in a slow motion. Looking into these tinted red eyes of hers. It seemed like that moment had lasted forever although it may have been just for a few second. He stood up in an instant and took a greeting bow, his tail, waving at first put its pointy tip onto his shoulder, right arm under his ribs while the left arm rests on the small of his back. Head bowed down looking down to the ground. He looked up at her with his yellow glowing eyes. A draft blew a bit of leafs around him. Once again looking deeply into her eyes, as he stood up he asked in a delighted way “To what do I owe the pleasure of your presence here, madam?”.

The girl looked at him for a moment, head tilted slightly to one side, and she smiled, one hand moving slightly upwards, with a second, smaller, draconic being perched upon it wobbling slightly as she did so. "Just passing through?"

The eyes beneath the hood blinked once as she spoke, not giving an answer, but a question, as if she herself was not quite sure herself, despite the fact that she had traveled to the cathedral of her own decision and power.

There was a pause, then she spoke again.
"Yes..." Silence for another moment. "Yes. Just passing through." The first confirmation had...rung strangely, a sound that wasn't quite normal lay hidden beneath the words.

She smiled. "And you?"

She didn't seem the least bit disturbed by his appearance, though why was not known. Perhaps the hood of her cloak hid a reason, or perhaps she had just met enough beings that didn't fit the idea of 'normal'.

S.O.S looked up at a cross and spoke “I am here to talk with my God, and pray for some thing…… I think he has heard my prayer.” He looked down at Zin with a pleasant smile on his face. He reached out his hand in a greeting manner and said “ I am Savior Of Souls, but you may call me S.O.S for short. Who might you be?”

He was glad that he had met some one that can look him in the eyes and not show fear or surprise. He had not met some one like that in a long while. It felt good to have a normal conversation. “Why do you hide your face behind that hood? There is no reason to hide anything….Unless you feel more conferrable that way.” He said in a concerned way. He bent down to his knees to observe this creature Zin had brought along with her.

“That is a fine companion you have there. What is its name?” He said trying to start a conversation..

The girl smiled. "My appearance-or an aspect of it, at the least-is out of the ordinary, although..." She pulled the hood back, and a pair of thin antennae unwound themselves from around strands of her hair, twitching back as if the air caused distress. "I doubt it would matter, for surely you've seen stranger?"

She held out the hand that carried the smaller dragon. "This is Sliver, he hasn't grown at all since I found him..." She paused, looking a bit worried at this, if only for a moment, and idly ran a hand over the scales of the larger of the pseudodragons. "This one...Hasn't been given a name yet..." She paused, then the look of unease vanished with a grin.

"S.O.S...." She paused for a few moments, as if comitting the name to memory, then grinned, and held out her free hand to him-the one that sliver wasn't perched upon-smiling still, her right eye gleaming a tone less red than it had moments before. "My name is Zin."

S.O.S stood up and shook Zins hand And said “Hello, it is a pleasure to meet you…. Zin.” He let out a small laugh, revealing his fangs “Yes I have seen many unusual things in my days on this land, you are not out of the ordinary to me.”

He looked down to the smaller pseudo dragon “Silver…. It hasn’t grown at all? Is it… sick?” He looked up at her tilting his head just a bit. “And this one” He looked over to the larger pseudo dragon “Hasn’t received a name yet? Did you recently come across him? You should think of a name, something that fits it well.”

S.O.S slowly looked up at Zin and observed her for a bit. He watched her as she looked down at the little pseudo dragon. He looked over to the door way, the wind gently blew some leaves into the Cathedral. S.O.S looked at Zin again and said “So where are you on your way to?”
