Title: Claiming life
Description: Open

Sitting as high up as he could climb among the ruins of what appeared to be a library, or something similar, Phate stared out over the rest of the ruined city. "What a fitting setting for my thoughts," he said low, to himself. He had been thinking most of the day away sitting in this uncomfortable spot on the stone steps. He just couldnt figure out what the dreams he constanly had had to do with his life... Running through the trees, stalking stealthily through tall grass, springing upon small living creatures... What did it all mean? He was almost positive that he would never figure it out, and that he should just give up and seek shelter for the night.
He had been thinking that for the last four hours, however, and he still had not moved from his resting place. He shifted his tall frame slightly, and rattle his sword in its scabbard slightly, just to reassure himself of its presence, and continued pondering. It was nearing night rather quickly, and he decided to just wait it out here, sleeping curled up with his back against a wall to block the chill night wind. All through the night, the dreams came again. He slept fitfully, and very lightly the whole night through, and awoke to find himself nowhere near the library he had fallen asleep in. He looked around trying to find his bearing, when a mighty gust of wind ripped through the tree he was -apparently- in, and he fell out with a cry, and landed on his hands and knees. Standing up quickly, he looked around in fear that someone had heard, and would soon find him in this ruined city...

Eden had not been able to sleep for days now and had just decided to give up worrying about it. Just a few days ago, Eden ran across a small hut out in the middle of the debon plains. He walked near the hut and the burst open, knocking the wind out of Eden. An old lady came out wearing a black shawl and had long white hair. She appeared to be a witch. Eden stood up to his feet and looked at the old and asked if anything was wrong. She raised her hands at him and she screamed what sounded like to be one hundred different voices. Eden was knocked unconscious and awoke in the Norwood forest. Since then he had not been able to sleep.
Eden came across a man in the middle of a forest. He seemed to be asleep but he was standing. Eden walked away from him because he found it very odd to see such a thing. He climbed the tree near the man and waited to see what would come of the man. Eden sat on the branch, not taking his eyes off of the stranger. He waited there feeling bored after a while until he saw and heard the man scream. Eden jumped and landed on the ground near him, Eden’s hand on the hilt of his mace. Eden looked at the man and said in a calming voice,
“You there. Are you okay?”

A little shaken, Adrien looks around a little confused. Finding the person standing behind him, he slowly says "I beleive so, or in the least, I appear to be whole... Who are you, by the way?" He was a little more than confused, for one moment he was asleep in the corner of an ancient library, and in the next, he was falling out of a tree. He hoped that this new person could explain the situation a little better than his addled brain had.
OOC: I fell out of the tree XD, I was asleep in it, not just standing in the forest...
Eden - February 16, 2005 02:03 AM (GMT)
Eden sat there in the tree looking at the stranger before him. He was confused. Eden did not expect to come across a man sleeping in the middle of the Norwood forest. Eden did not know what to do or say. The situation that he was in had very low chances of happening, if not being impossible. Ede just sat there, debating with himself on wheather he should come down from the strong tree branch or not. He finally made his desicion and jumped down to the ground. He trusted that the man would not do anything to harm or cause fear in Eden. Eden outstretched his hand to greet each other with caution. He said,
"My name is Eden Botteausai. I was wanderin through the forest when I came upon you. This is something that I was not expecting. I saw you in the trees. You were motionless and I did not know if you alive or dead. I feared for the worst and I went up to the canopy and looked for signs of lif on your body. Just at that moment you fell out of the tree and now I can clearly see that you alive and well."

Taking the mans hand in a firm handshake, he said politely and as collected as he could, "I am Phate, and am not very certain on how I came to be in that tree, or in this forest for that matter. I fell asleep in the ruins of a library, and I remember... I remember dreaming of black and gray fur, and for some reason, of birds in the trees. Thats all really remember before hitting the ground. Any ideas of what happened?" He hoped he could find an answer to this mess soon, he rather disliked being in a tree, or falling out of one, for that matter.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, i just wish it was under different and far less strange circumstances... What brings you to this forest anyway?" he asked the man politely.
Eden - February 16, 2005 03:48 AM (GMT)
Eden shook the man's hand with a firm grip. He smiled and found that his name was Phate. What an interesting name, Eden silently thought to himself. Eden let go of their greeting hand shake and let his arm drop to his side. His hand hit the hilt of his mace and made it lightly bang around his leg for a short moment. Eden took his hand and grabbed the end of the bulky weapon to stop from moving around. He looked up into the trees and thoght to him self for a moment. He was thinking about what could have brought the two here. Eden did not believe in coincidence and only in things happening for a reason. Eden looked into the Phate's eyes and said,
"It is strange that we meet in these circumstances. It is not by chance that we met here this evening. I do not believe in coincidence. About the dream you speak of, when you say a dark fur. The only thing that comes to my mind is the witch I have unfortunately encountered in the Debon Plains. She was wearing a dark shawl. Did you happen to come across an old crazy lady while wandering in the plains?"
Eden again looked and wandered in thought to himself. He could not get the old witch off of his mind. She was the reason that he could not sleep any longer. Eden promised him self that he would not worry about it so much but it has not left him. The thought of him bearing this simple curse stayed in the back of mind for days now, even though he tried to rid it.
