Title: The Darkness Without

|Death| - January 29, 2005 07:29 PM (GMT)
Death stood in the silence, unmoving as thoughts raced through his mind. He stood in the middle of the forest, where no light shone to guide him. The only brightness was from his eyes, shining out like two torches. In his right hand, he held his scythe loosely. It wasn't the same as his other one had been, but it would do for now. Soon, he would have his power back, and then the alliance would rule. Turning abruptly, Death began walking, heading to the edge of the forest. As he went, the silence seemed to follow him. Creatures could feel him coming, and quickly left the area, only returning once it was clear that he had passed. He made no sound with his passing, ignoring the shapes that were in the darkness, the creatures that were hiding from his gaze. He had important work to do, and he could not be delayed by anything. He stopped suddenly, the walls of Balefire in view. The lanterns shown brightly, attempting to hold back the darkness surrounding the city. Soon, those lanterns would be smothered, useless, but not today. Death stood just within the tree line, his gaze sweeping the city. He cared not who saw him or what they tried to do. They even might try to kill him, but that was impossible since he wasn't truly alive. He had no blood, he had no skin. All that was left was his body, driven by the evil that ruled him.

Don't know if this is reserved or not. Counting on its not, I'll post. ^^ Just tell me if you were saving it for someone else and I'll remove myself!)

The woods in this hour were dark. Well, it was Gloomwood, these woods were always dark. However, they were absent of the little-less than friendly creatures that always scurried about making mischief.

Wherever she stepped here, there was no noise other than her footsteps crunching on the crisp sticks and leaves below. The earth below mucking up the soles of her lamb skin boots, the only things of value she still retained.

With her person she dragged a sword, a dangerously large sword, enough to cut down the mightiest warrior in a single blow. But in spite of its size, it took a very powerful persont to wield it... Scarlet was not the person, or so she had decided. Her limbs not nearly strong enough to power such a massive object, and put it to use for her in battle. Managing to have performed a single assassination and recieve payment for it, she dragged the thing to these woods to be rid of it. Hoping to cast it back to the same darkness it had been crafted in. The damnable cast iron thing was more burden than it was help.

Her footprints and a trail of the swords tip were left in the dirt as she traveled through the woods. Grumbling ever-so-often about how heavy the damn thing was, heavy and useless. Her eyes raised though when she caught glimpse of a color that was not natural to the woods. Black.

A man standing at the edge of the forest, the destination she sought, to throw the sword away in hopes a much stronger warrior may find it. Her eyes traveling his figure as he stood there, still in, and in silence.

Caution thrown to the wind she approached, dragging the sword along side of her. Eyeballing the scythe he carried in his right hand. Deciding not to dubb him a threat she dragged herself as well as the massive weapon about ten feet horizontally from him, standing at the edge of the forest but a good ways away from the reaper like creature across the way.

And pulling the sword from the dirt over her shoulder, she hurled it down the hill towards the city of Balefire, the behemouth of a thing stick sideways in the dirt about 50 yards down. Distance gained only by the slope of the hill, her strength no where near what was needed to launch a 50 pound weapon that far.

She turned her attention to the man a good distance aside her. "I suppose you wouldn't mind... unless you were planning on lighting designs in the grass. That little toothpick could mess up your plans... but why would I assume something like that? You're probably just gazing at the sight..." She muttered still eyeballing him warily. Curtesy was a formality, nothing to be heeded to in all situations. And this one, was no different.
