One morning, supernoob decided to go to Balefire for a drink. When he got there, he saw someboby with a creature so odd, so smart, so ferocious that he had to get one. He asked the man what the creature was. The man said it was an umbra and that it was native to Gloomwood. Supernoob said thank you and started off for Gloomwood. He spent 3 hours looking for an umbra. then he heard a voice from a clearing. The voice belonged to..............

Pheonix was aimlessly wandering the forest, as usual. The usual companion was by her side, a red wolf named Genesis. They'd been exploring this forest for a while, and had met up with few people. So far thier hunting hadn't gone too wel leither. Meaning that those umbra so talked about were even better hunters than the half-wolf demon and her pet wolf.

"Why isn't there anything here? What the? .... Gen ?" The had wolf stopped in his tracks, and gently grabbed Pheonix's tail in his teeth.Now that her attention was taken hold of, Pheonix shook hereself from her complaints and looked up. Upon noticing a person standing in the middle of the wood, Pheonix couldn't help but be curious. "Erm ... heya?"

When Trith first looked at the strange wolf-like creature he thought it was a werewolf and grasped for his longsword. "Who are you, and who's that little monster there?" Trith said, obviously surprised by the creature in front of him. "Great, i come out in search of an Umbra and find a creature with a wolf's head and tail, and a humans body," he said, meaning to keep it to himself.

((Okie .... and, actually, Pheonix doesn't look much like a wolf. She just has the ears and tail of one.))


Pheonix twitched an ear, what was this guys problem anyway? "Monster? You must be delusional. That there is a wolf, and I'm half-wolf demon." Pheonix looked around, and shrugged. "Hmm ... must be the dark. You prolly can't see very well in it." Pheonix was more than likely talking to herself, but loud enough so that Trith could hear her. "Oh ... right. My name's Pheonix, and the wolf next to me is Genesis." Pheonix idly played with the hilt of her katana. Not that she planned on using it, but she still could if forced to. She flicked an ear at the mention of Umbra. "Oh ... you're a looking for one of those cat-things?"

"First off, yes i am looking for an Umbra, secondly, Your right, i can't see very well in the dark. Sorry about calling you a monster Genesis, and sorry for sounding like your some evil creature from down under Pheonix," Said Trith as he slowly placed his longsword back in his scabbard. "Why are you wandering the woods this late at........well i guess it isn't that late, its just dark.......what are you doing here?" Trith was amazed to see that Genesis had a red eye. He had to ask why the wolf had one red eye. "Why does that wolf, Genesis, have a red eye?"

Pheonix shrugged. She was used to people calling her things she wasn't; used to people wanting to draw weapon agianst her just because she's different. She took her hand away fro mthe weapon at her hip, and crossed her arms in front of her. Leaning back on her heels, she shrugged again. "I dunno. He's always been like that." That wasn't really the truth. Genesis didn't always have the red eye. The true story was that a mage and tried to turn Gen into some fearocious beast. But the guy was so inept that all he did was change the color of Gen's eye. But that was a long time ago, when Pheonix and the wolf had been seperated for awhile. One of Pheonix's eyes were red too, but she wondered why the man had noticed it about Genesis and not her. Not that it really mattered.

"So. you having any luck finding one of those Umbras?"

A quick subject change. But only because talking about eye colors was so boring to Pheonix.

Trith sighed and recounted the great luck he had finding an Umbra(NOT). He told Pheonix that he had seen one and only one and that it was a man in Balefire's pet. "If you dont mind i was wondering if you and Genisis could help me find an Umbra, since you can see so well in the dark, and i can barely see the trees beyond this clearing." As he wondered what they would look like if they were hiding in the dark. But was interrupted in the middle of his thoughts by...............

Pheonix nodded, "Well, I've never actually seen an Umbra myself before. BUt it sounds like even something feline as that would be pretty useful." Pheonix didn't really have anything against feline-creatures personally, it was just that the wolf part of her instictively had a distaste towards most thing catlike. Pheonix didn't know why.

Pheonix scratched an ear, and was thinking about how exactly she could help this guy find an Umbra. "Ell, I can try an hlp you find one. But from what I hear they're not easy to tame, even if you do catch un." Pheonix stopped talking, as Genesis let out a low growl. Pheonix turned, and peered into the shadows. She could see a pair of eye watching, and Pheonix slowly put a hand to her sword. "Looks like sometihngs been a eavesdropping on our convo."

"What, theres something here?" Just as Trith was about to turn around, Pheonix yelled"Stay there, don't move!"Trith did as he was bidden, then he heard a low growl from genesis, and then one from somewhere in the forest. Trith just realized what they were doing, they were catching the Things scent. With that being done, he stayed put, and decided he would let them do what they were best at.

Pheonix gave a motion to Genesis. It meant for him to stay put, and so the wolf did so. Pheonix cautiosly drew her sword, and edged into the forest. Her ears twitched at some sound, and she quickly dissappeared into the shadows. There was a low growl and then a feline-like hiss.

It didn't take long for Pheonix to find the creatue that had been stalking them from the darkness. Upon seeing it, Pheonix put her sword away and slowly edged towards the kit. The umbra was only a young one, so surely it wouldn't be soemthing for Pheonix to be afraid of. Pheonix slowly reached a hand out to grab it, and was met with claws sharper than she'd expected. "Hey! .... that hurt." She muttered, before stadning and calling out behind her shoulder. "Its safe, get on over here. Genesis won't let you get lost in the dark, so don't worry about that." As she waited for Trith and Genesis to find her, Pheonix looked at the dark umbra kit as it stared at her, its tail lashing back in forth in agitation. The creature sure didn't look happy, as was obvious by its raised forepaw. Even the young umbras had wickedly sharp claws. Pheonix noted holding her bleeding hand.

All trith could say was "Amazing!" When he finally came to his senses, he pulled out three pieces of bread and three of cheese. he paused before he took out the fourth. "Is it ok for genesis to have some?" He asked as he tossed one to the Umbra Kit, handed one to Pheonix, and kept one for himself.

Pheonix nodded. "Yeah. Gen can have a bit. He likes it when peopel give him food." Pheonix knelt, her head tilited to the side a little as she studied the umbra more closely. "Careful. Its gots sharp claws. See?" Pheonix held up a scratched and bloody hand to prove that the umbra's claws, were indeed, very sharp. "Still, even can't help but find the little guy cute. Isn't that right little kitty?" Pheonix stared at the umbra some more. Which in turn gave a hiss at Pheonix. "Ah ... I guess the little umbra doesn't like the scent of wolf I have."
