Title: In the land of twilight, under the moon...

Rianna Dirada - January 23, 2005 03:52 AM (GMT)
Where the land met the sea, Rianna walked, her bare rear paws slipping and sliding through the fine white sand that spread along the coast of the Moonsea. The late evening sun glinted on the water, its dazzling light a beauty to behold, even for one such as she, who reveled in the darkness of night and the endless blackness of her home. As twilight dwindled into being, a few stars began to appear in the sky, speckling the deep blue of the upper sky with a glittering display of colorful pinpricks of light. As the tide let out, she moved closer to the water, letting it wash over her paws, soaking the black fur, the sand scouring her unsheathed claws, cleansing them. Her long tail, black with red stripes and a vibrant red tip, seemed to stream out behind her, swishing back and forth in a little dance all its own, uncontrolled by the daemon to which it belonged. One emerald and one blue eye peered out over the water, watching as fishing ships set sail for the evening, hoping to make a good catch in the deeper seas.

Her hair was loose today, flowing down just past her shoulders, the raven black locks, tipped with the same vibrant red as was present on her tail, flying out behind her in the seaside breeze. Her nostrils flared as she caught the scent of the salty water, a distinctive fishy smell hanging in the thick air around her. She ignored it, for the time, having long ago decided she preferred red meat to fish, and so she continued her ambling walk along the beach, her tattered cloak swaying from side to side and occasionally flapping in the wind, catching her tail as it waved fluidly behind her.

She paused, turning to the water, watching the sun slowly sink below the waves. Night began to fall, though the sun clung to the sky, leaving a dusky rose glow on the horizon. Her pupils slitted for a moment, adjusting to the change of light, before they widened again, expanding almost to the edges of her irises so that she could see better in the darkness that had begun to creep over the land. She smiled slightly, closing her eyes partway as she felt the comforting cloak of shadow surround her. Now was her time, and she fully intended to enjoy it.

Tock - January 24, 2005 05:45 PM (GMT)
Tock had been spending most of the beach alone. HHe found it was a calm place to take a well needed rest. He could lie down on the sand and let the wind gently blow upon him as he listened to the soft waves. It was an escape from people and their strange questions, their strange looks, and their riddicule. The short furry spent most of the day gazing up lazily at the clouds. He had enough food in his backpack to last him in case something bad happened. He would be making his return to the city later on after he had tired of his solitude.

A sweet dream tickled Tock's fancy after he had drifted off to sleep. People were talking to him, smiling. He was loved. People complemented his wit. He wasn't shunned of to the coner and ignored as obsolete. The sky was golden and the grass was so green and full of life. Warm winds breezed the air. People were about as if all in the world were taking picnics. The Skies the took a sudden change and became dark and cloudy. The grass withered and took on a lifeless gray color. The winds became cold and bitter. In fear tock slowly turned around, inheritly knowing the cause of the change stood behind him.

Tock's eyes immediately flashed open after the image of his family came into veiw. Tock's heart pumped quickly in fear. Tock's breath became short as he old himself mentaly that his family would bother him no more. To Tock's dismay, the glorious sunlight was now diminishing. The darkness of night was creeping across the sky. Tock didn't like the darkness. Tock took in deep breaths. There was still a bit a of light left in the sky. He could get near Taras before the only lights were the stars and the moon, who were much less comforting than the sun, but undoubtedly better than a blank sky.

Tock stood up and dusted the sand off of his fur. He grabbed his backpack that was off to his side and placed it upon his shoulders. His eyes glanced around nervously before he turned to walk down the beach. Tock stoped dead in his tracks when his eyes beheld a strange creature out in the water. She seemed almost cat-like, yet humaniod. Tock stood paralyzed in fear. He was unsure of whether he wished to attract the creature's attention. He was unsure of what he would he would do if she noticed him anyways.

Rianna Dirada - January 27, 2005 06:49 PM (GMT)
Rianna watched until the last rays of the sun had disappeared beneath the horizon, and then she looked up, gazing at the moon that shone brightly down upon her. A dim light still peeked at the edge of the sky, a rusty red and orange that intrigued her. She smiled softly and turned back to the water for a while, absorbing the scene, watching the reflections of light as they danced in the waves. Fish splashed, causing ripples, as they hunted for insects that danced on the cool liquid of the sea. Her blue eye did not reflect the scene before her – in fact, the pupil, expanded as it was, seemed only to absorb. Her emerald eye, the ‘normal’ eye, as she considered it, did, however, reflect the scene. A wave crashed against her, soaking her trousers up to mid-calf, and she took a step backward in surprise, her tail thrashing wildly as she did her best to maintain her balance.

It was no use, though, as the sand, wet as it was, still slipped from beneath her feet, washed away by the receding water. She fell to the beach with a sudden, sharp thump, letting out a feline squeak of surprise, her mouth agape as she stared at the water. She sighed softly and pulled herself back to her feet, shaking her cloak to rid it of the sand. Now irritated at the water, she turned away from it and began to move back to the drier parts of the shore. Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted something, some small creature, it seemed. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she turned to fully face it, head tilted to the side in curious examination. Rianna took a step closer, dropping to all fours automatically, her head lifting up, nostrils flaring as she sniffed the air, trying to catch the scent of the creature. It was difficult, though – the wind was blowing the wrong way, and the smell of the sea and fish and other creatures of the water were carried to her instead. So, giving up on that method, she began to carefully edge forward, her fingers curled up into her palm, looking for all the world like furless paws, her claws leaving small dents and trails in the sifting beach.

<Sorry it took me so long to respond. I've been kinda stressed lately.>
