Title: A new Beginning...
Description: My first RP here... Open to all
Adamus - January 20, 2005 09:31 PM (GMT)
A Winged Elf looked behind him on a dusty path, a sheer cliff face before him and a cleverly concealed entrance behind. He took one last glance at his home, then turned to the cliff and ran, hurling himself off of it and spreading his wings wide to their 10f wingspan. The rising air from the cliff sent him spiralling upward as he enjoyed the flight, but he knew it wouldn't last, at the end of the flight despair would return.
For Adamus had left his only home.
He dived down the cliff face, it was already nearing night and he would need a place to sleep for the night, he spotted a small cave or alcove-it was hard to tell the depth of the shadows- farther down the mountain and dived for it, reaching it in minutes and landing with a soft thump. He curled up his wings, noting forest green splotches that hadn't been there before, he guessed it came from his magical mishap earlier... He banished the memories, now was not the time for it.
He pulled his wand from inside his right sleeve and tugged his spellbook off his back. The book only contained one spell currently, but he hoped that would soon change. He pointed the wand at the spot of darkness near the wall and read from the book, limming the alcove in faerie fire. It'd have to make do. He walked over to the fringes of a forest and gathered some dry wood, his shoulder-length silver hair getting dirty as he bumped into branches in the dark. He trudged back to the alcove and dumped the wood there, then took out two small peices of flint and set it aflame, then sat down and leaned against the wall, replaying in his mind the day's events.
Jasmine of Laurudy - January 20, 2005 10:11 PM (GMT)
As Jasmine was soaring up high in the air, she noticed a figure with great wings fly down the cliff and into the wilderness. Both she and Calphurnia spotted this site and flew down to land near where the creature was. Jasmine laned with her phoenix and made a slight thud on the ground. The air was warm around her and she looked at her great phoenix who lit up the night. The light that illuminated would glow for miles and miles in the distance.
Jasmine walked through the branches and came to the cave that the person called home. She came up to the entrance, silently and unseen.
"I will guess that will need help getting these flames to warm you up. Here let me help."
Jasmine snapped her fingers and the flames burst and created heat that could be felt from a distance.
Adamus - January 20, 2005 10:29 PM (GMT)
Adamus nearly jumped, startled by Jasmine's appearance nearby, even though he had been prepared by the sight of the Pheonix's glow. "Thank you." He replied automatically as he calmed himself down, "Adamus Ma'For" He said, extending a hand across and above the flames. "As you can tell, I'm an Avariel Elf." He said with a slight grin. Then he realized one hand had reflexsively(sp?) pointed his wand at Jasmine. He lowered it, but still held it... Just in case.
Jasmine of Laurudy - January 21, 2005 08:48 PM (GMT)
Jasmine smiled and said,
"You do not need to be prepared to fight or any thing. I did not come here to start any conflict.... I see that you have a spell book. I have one of those some where. I have memorized my spells and do not need one any more. I use it for when I try to learn a new spell. Tell me. Which spell do you have now?"
Jasmine wlked over to him a little bit and looked at him in the eyes. He did not look like a normal elf. Jasmine had never seen an avioral elf before. He was news to her. Were there more like him? From what Jasmine could see, he was new to this land and had not really gotten out much. Or at least that is what she gathered.
Adamus - January 23, 2005 12:21 AM (GMT)
"Spells" Adamus corrected, holding up the open spellbook and lighting it up with Faerie Fire for emphasis. "Faerie Fire and Magic Missles." He said, glancing into the woods with a wistful smile, he was just now realizing that bringing food would have been a good idea, and his stomach was growling. He turned to Jasmine, "You wouldn't happen to have anything to eat on you, would you?"
Jasmine of Laurudy - January 28, 2005 12:10 AM (GMT)
Jasmine looked at the book and then smiled when he asked for food. She found herself with no bag and again with no food. She usually hunted for her food. Jasmine looked at Adamus and said,
"If you want food, then you will have to hunt for it. I do not have any with me right now. I will be glad to help you if you would like."
Jasmine snapped her fingers and Calphurnias head popped from her wing and she awoke from her nap. She intantly flew off into the air and both Jasmine and Adamus soon heard her cry from the sky. She found prey. Jasmine grabbed Adamus's hand pulled him. She started to run and made her way to the site of the prey. She stopped in time so that the deer would not hear them. She took out her katana and stepped forward lightly. She looked over to Adamus and whispered,
"This is our food tonight. If you like, I will happily slay this creature for your hungering need."
Adamus - January 28, 2005 07:06 PM (GMT)
Adamus said a quick prayer in advance for the deer's life, a habit from his Elven ancestry. "Go ahead." He said when he finished, watching the deer's movement's carefully. Most elves would have hunted themselves, killing the deer as quickly as possible. But Adamus had no sharp weapons, and his magic would be painful doe the deer, so he wouldn't be hunting for himswlf until he got either a blade, or a spell that could do the job.
Jasmine of Laurudy - January 29, 2005 07:55 AM (GMT)
Jasmine held out her hand toward the deer and looked as though she was concentrating. She had her thoughts on a boulder that was not too far away from the deer. The boulder was lifted into the air by Jasmine's mind it then it was flung toward the animal. It was silent and undetectable by the deer. A loud thud was heard as the giant rock hit the deer in the head and as the creature fell limp to the ground. Jasmine walked over to it and picked it up. Lucky for her, it was not a full grown adult, so heavy that she would not be able to carry it. Jasmine like to do things by her self. She walked passed Adamus and back to where they came from.
Jasmine set the deer down and began to peel the skin. She was used to this as she lived in the wild for many many months at a time. She was always on journeys and adventures that required her to feed like this. She went through the process of skinning the animal and taking out the organs. She looked at the camp fire and it grew bright and hot. Jasmine looked at Adamus and asked for some sharp and strong sticks.
Adamus - April 24, 2005 01:24 AM (GMT)
((Time to revive this RP... Sorry for the Absence Jasmine. Spyware and Life reared their heads.))
Adamus nodded and got up, moving into the woods. As he looked for the sticks, he wondered which god had sent this boon companion, or if it had been a coincidence. He shrugged, and continued scrounging up the needed sticks from the undergrowth. He made a mental note to get a dagger or knife as soon as he had enough money and knew where to get one. He walked back into the fire's light and dumped an armfull of sticks onto the ground near Jasmine and moved back into the alcove.
He wasn't very talkative, so he didn't say anything. He just sat there, staring into the flames and holding back the flood of memories that tried to flood into his mind. He mentally silenced the cry of burning people in his head, drove the sight of the burning building from infront of his eyes, then turned his gaze skyward, temporarily loosing himself in the void.
