Title: Exploring
Description: Bah ... crap title.

Pheonix - January 17, 2005 11:17 PM (GMT)
One word suffices in describing the place. Dark. There's shadows everywhere, and the name "Gloomwood" seems to suit the place perfectly. Gloomy. But that was why Pheonix was here. Because not many people dared venture into these woods; especially not at night. The silence is suddenly broken, by the howl of a wolf. Pheonix leaned her staff against one shoulder; cupped her hands to her mouth, and gave her own reply. It wasn't long before a red wolf bounded out of the shadows, and tackled Pheonix. She grabbed her staff, and blocked the fangs aimed at her throat. But it was all in fun, there was no threat of danger here. Pheonix only laughed, and pushed the wolf away.

"Genisis ... give up. You'll never be able to catch me off guard."

thoron - January 17, 2005 11:25 PM (GMT)
Thoron had heard what sounded like a howl, followed immediatly after by the sound of a voice. He looked about and quickly jumped to a tree nearby. He closed the distance between him and the noise within moments, jumping silently from tree to tree. He stopped In a tree not far from where he had heard the noise, but he had yet to see anything, for many trees sourounded him. He liked the place. It was dark, just how he liked it. It would be quite easy here to sneak up behind someone and thrust a dagger through their back, if he wished it.

But instead he decided to figure out just who, or what, this being exactly was. "Who goes there?" he asked, staying high in the tree which he hid, blending in with the darkness, waiting for an answer from whomever was brave enough to wander these woods.

Pheonix - January 17, 2005 11:34 PM (GMT)
Pheonix's ears quickly flicked to the sound of a voice, her eyes scanning the tree line; reflecting what little light the moon managed to pierce through the trees. The wolf at her side quickly went on the offensive, ears flat against his skull and fangs bared.

"It depends on who's asking."

Pheonix muttered something to the canine at her side, and he relaxed somewhat. Holding her staff in front of her, Pheonix called back out to where she sensed the other was.

"So .. who is asking?"

thoron - January 17, 2005 11:45 PM (GMT)
"a rude one arn't you?" he asked with a laugh "it is only polite to respond to the questioner first, but it is also polite to respond to a lady, and that i shall do. I have many many different names, but you can call me Thoron" he said, staying high in the tree "but you have yet to give me a name for which i shall call you"

He quickly drew his dagger and smiled, he had used that weapon so many times and was so skilled with it that it made no noise as it came from its sheath. If she caused problems, or was looking for a fight she would get one.

Pheonix - January 17, 2005 11:54 PM (GMT)
"Not rude. Just ... cautious."

Pheonix eyes the shadows warily. She didn't trust this stranger hiding out in the shadows. For one thing, even though she had the night sight of a wolf, she couldn't see him. And another thing ... Pheonix had trouble figuring out his scent. She wasn't sure why, but it was probably due to the surorundings. The musty smell of the forest assualted her sense of smell. However, Pheonix figured the man out there was probably human.

"The name's Pheonix. And this here, is Genisis."

She leaned forward on her staff, showing that she wasn't in the mood for a fight. Not today. The wolf at her side, gave a low, warning growl. But Pheonix pretended she didn't hear it.

"Neither of us will attack as long as you don't."

thoron - January 20, 2005 04:36 PM (GMT)
"that is good to hear, Pheonix" he laughed as he threw his dagger in the air and jumped down from the tree. He landed behind Pheonix and her wolf, Genesis. He turned and flipped over her head, grabbing his dagger in mid-air and sheathing it "so, what brings you to these parts?" he asked. Perhaps she was hunting. After all, wolves were of great help in hunting. He would be sure to get a wolf someday.

He looked around, this place wasn't very safe. Although he sense nothing there could be beings in here that could not be sensed, powerfull beings. He didn't like the sound of that. Although he was an assassin he was quite new at it, only been training for a few years, he didn't know if he could take on an evil of great potential.

Pheonix - January 20, 2005 10:56 PM (GMT)
Pheonix only twitched an ear at the little acrobatic display. She'd seen better than that, but didn't say so. The wolf at her side gave an annoyed flick of his tail, but otherwise didn't seem to care. Genisis could always pick up on Pheonix's feelings, and so he trusted her judgement. Pheonix shrugged at the question.

"Exploring, might do a bit of hunting. Just killing time really."

Pheonix boredly flipped up the collar of her jacket. She knew that this place wasn't the safest to ... be touring. But she didn't care. Pheonix was always one to test her own boundries, and didn't show fear of the unknown.

"What about you? Few people chose to visit this dreary place."

thoron - January 22, 2005 06:07 PM (GMT)
"me? i'm just exploring, searching these lands. I've been wandering for years now, and have forgotten many places, so i am creating a map" he said as he leaned up against a tree "that way i won't forget where anything is. Now, the problem is remembering where i put the map" he laughed. He had many many bags full of things and he often couldn't find what he was looking for in the massive collection of items and such.

"What creatures can be found here to hunt? i havn't come across anything besides you two since i entered" he said as he looked around. Again there was nothing. Perhaps all the animals were depeer in the forest. But the deep forest was dark, and animals usually perfered the light. He decided he would think about it later, and shrugged off the question.

Pheonix - January 22, 2005 10:03 PM (GMT)
Pheonix shrugged, she wasn't looking for anytihng specifically. Like she said, she was really just killing time."I was hoping there'd be something like ... I dunno. Deer, or rabbit, or anything. But I can't even pick up any scent; Genesis niether." Pheonix scratched an ear, still not quite sure what else might be in these woods.

thoron - January 23, 2005 01:51 AM (GMT)
"if i tried i'd be able to find at least one animal, but i'm feeling lazy at the moment" he said. He made a mental note to write down the scarcity of animals in this forest. Thoron had run out of questions, and had nothing more to say. So he stood there. Should he leave? that would be rude, but did he really care?

Pheonix - January 23, 2005 07:21 AM (GMT)
Pheonix didn't care, she'd dealt with people ruder ((is that a word?)) than that, should he leave. Pheonix was never one who was good at conversation. For one thing, not many people wanted to talk to someone who looked as different as she, and another thing was, Pheonix always managed to say the wrong thing at the wrong time. "Hmmm ... sure you could." Pheonix didn't really believe he could find an animal if he felt like it. Then again Pheonix didn't have much faith in most people. Pheonix tapped her staff against her foot, not quite sure what to do now.
