Title: Desolate
Wynde - January 15, 2005 07:11 AM (GMT)
No sound. Not a breath of a whisper. The city seems dead, hollow. The dwarves are nowhere in sight. Homes lay, as if abandoned. Shops look as if they awoke one day to find themselves but a dream. Everything is in shambles. An eerie silence crept into Wynde's heart. The words came out, an odd whisper, "What happened here?"

"No idea." A figure stepped out of the darkness, shadows draped over her like a cloak. She smirked, eyes glowing a bright, flourescent red. "But I can assure you it was not my doing..."

Wynde glanced at the girl, pondering why he hadn't heard her approach. After a short while, he spoke again, the silence had subsided for now. "If I may ask," quoth he, "who are you?"
Zin - January 16, 2005 09:46 AM (GMT)
A smirk spread across the girl's lips. "I don't have a name. This body does, but I don't, and, in the long run, I'm the only one that will really matter." She laughed coldly, and tucked a strand of hair behind a pointed ear.

Wynde felt a sensation in the back of his mind telling him that it may not be benificial to stay any longer than needed. Wynde would heed the voice, but he was curious as well. "I am sorry madame, but I do not follow. Could you please explain to me what your words mean?"

"..." The girl scowled. "What I mean, since you asked, is that this," She motioned to her body. "Is not mine. It is...someone elses'...but they've been...under the weather for a time. They're out of my way for now."
Wynde - January 18, 2005 04:17 AM (GMT)
"Ah," Wynde said, hoping he sounded like he understood. He was sure he did not want to learn any more about the topic at the current time. So, he changed the subject. "Do you know what happened here?" he asked the entity within the girl's body.
Zin - January 18, 2005 05:22 AM (GMT)
"No. They were wandering about quite happily just a little while ago, I can assure you. Then I left. Then I came back and you were here. Perhaps you did something?"
She smiled sweetly, lips pulling back to reveal long, sharp fanglike teeth. "Because I know I did not." Her mouth shut with a loud snap.
Wynde - January 22, 2005 06:41 AM (GMT)
Still uneasy, Wynde was quick to anger. "I had no part in this! I know not what happened, nor why, and I will not be blamed for it! I have nothing against the dwarves." He had an odd assertiveness in his voice as he finished, calm once more. Now, his voice was filled with a new emotion, not easily given name, "If not who, then what are you? Why is my anger so upset by you? I want answers. And I'll have them."
