Title: Killing the Dragon
Description: open (Meera)

Astalder - January 12, 2005 11:24 PM (GMT)
Astalder finally felt soft sand under his footsteps and knew he was in the Istan Desert. He slowed down a bit until he was at a complete halt. He hoped Meera didn't feel too quesy, he didn't think she would though. She'd ridden on Enzo, he supposed it was a bit different riding an... Astalder. A smile crept along his face, as he had found that humorous. He turned his sword right side up and turned to Meera.

"Are you ok? If you are brace yourself, the dragon should be upon us in any given moment. We are miles away from the Istan City and any sort of civilization which is both a good and bad thing, but it's ok, I could navigate us back to a town, if we're still alive... I have faith though, we should make a good team." Astalder gave Meera one last smile as he readied himself. He chanted musical words softly and soon enough the sky was gray with one think cloud. This was essential to cast Storm Kindler spells. It also made him very comfortable like he was fighting a home battle. He flexed his fingers, ready to cast Summon Lightning. He saw the deep black scales of the dragon approaching them off in the distance.

"This is it Meera! Get ready!" Astalder said, almost heroicly. His voice almost sounded foreign as he said it.

As Meera hopped off of Astaldar (wow, that's kinda weird....), she rubbed her stomach and said half-humorously "A little bumpy but I'll be allright." and smiled at him. She thought -that's gonna be sore tomorrow- then shook her head and smiled at Astaldar again. She still had her sword in her hand during the breif ride and it had taken a lot of her gripping strength to keep it in her hands and from hitting Astaldar while they were running. She switched the sword into another hand and streched out her palm, allowing the circulation to return to it. When she felt her hand turn warm again, she moved the sword back into her dominant fighting hand. It was too bad that she wasn't ambidextrous, then she would have no problem fighting with her sword in the other hand.

She saw the storm clouds coming in, but felt no fear for she knew that it was Astaldar, she knew that he loved to use power over lighting, for his sword was that exact type. She knew that however unlikely it was that a storm be in the desert, it was possible if Astaldar was there. Then, once again, she heard the roar of the dragon and heard Astaldar calling her to get ready. She stood in a good fighting posture and held the sword ready to slash and possibly to kill.

Astalder's had crackled with electricity as the dark grey clouds hovered ominously above them. He opened and clenched his hand continuesly, so the spell wouldn't back fire. The scaley figure rose from the horizon. His large, black, leathery wings pushed forcefully to keep the dragon in the air. He let out a blood curdling screech and then looked down at the two warriors, prepared to fight. His eyes shone a dark black with menacing red pupils. His white horns were twisted evilly and petruded out of his skull. He had smooth white fangs that had the slightest tint of yellow. Its tail was very long and had long spikes that stuck out at the tip, like a mace. His front claws were about as big as a young pony and his hind claws were as big as a grown stallion.

"This will not be easy..." Astalder said to himself. The dragon looked down at him and gnashed his teeth violently. He could tell the dragon was underestimating as he effortlessly attempted to eat him. Astalder disappeared and the dragon bit nothing but air. Astalder chuckled and made a pushing motion with his hands. Great winds picked up and sand flew toawrds the dragon. The Black Dragon let out a yelp as the sand got in his eyes and mouth.

"Foqal sakkamen!!" Astalder yelled and a great lightning bolt ripped the sky in half and hit the dragon in the wing. The dragon now had a very big hole in one of it's wing making it impossible for it to fly. He then jabbed into the ground and a second lightning bolt struck the draon in the head. The dragon screamed into the sky and shook the lightning off of him like it were dust. The dragon looked down at Astalder, enraged now. He lifted his hand and a black orb a appeared in it. He was getting read y to through at Astalder.

Meera had not had a chance to do anything since the dragon was not close enough to use her sword yet. Meera knew that she could help Astaldar fight though, so she sent a bless spell his way and hoped that it would help him out somewhat. She had never used it before, but had learned from her infused training that she had the power to use it whenever she pleased. Even though she only meant for it to appear around Astaldar, as it did, a white glowing aura surrounded her as well. She suddenly felt very optimistic and ready to fight to the death or to win. She felt great hope that they both would do well in this fight. She also felt that she was almost as strong as the dragon. She knew she wasn't but she deffinitely knew that she was stronger.

She stood again in a fighting position. She then saw the black orb appearing in the dragon's mouth. She didn't fully understand what it was, but she knew that it deffinitely wasn't for good, and it was meant for either her or Astaldar. She thought quickly and thought back to her spells. She remebered that she could summon a water elemental. She held up her hand and called one forth from the elemental plane of water. As the figure formed infront of her, she sent it to stand in front of Astaldar protectively. Using a little more of her strength, she summoned another, to protect her if needed. She knew that she would have to use her sword eventually, but for now, she wanted to wait and see what the dragon could do.

Astalder spun is blade in his hand several times. This usually calmed his nerveous hands during battle. It helped keep them occupied when they weren't striking something. Then a blast of water shot up from the ground. Its width was about as long as the sword he was holding. He looked up to see a great Water Elemental. The part tht shot up was just its leg, the rest of the elemental was huge. Although the Elemental seemed big, it onlly rose to about the dragons thigh.

The dragon seemed confused but kept his posture none the less. He lowered his head and spat the orb out ferociously. Astalder again easily dodged it but the Water Elemental seemed a bit slower. The orb just barely missed the Elemental, but did no damge. The dragon screamed in rage and turned his gaze Meera. Astalder supposed the dragon figured it would be near impossible to hit Astalder at his speed. His snarled and came down with his front claw fast.

Astalder's eyes widened and he disappeared once more. He reappeared where the dragon's claw was about to come down. He thrust his sword upward at the right moment and the clas came crashing down on it. Astalder fell to one knee from the force of the swing. The blade made a clean pierce through the middle of the dragon's hand.

"Foqal sakkamen!!" Astalder yelled and a lightning bolt came down striking the dragon's hand. That bolt would cripple the Dragon's hand slightly making it close to useless. Astalder retreived his blade and took steps backwards until he was next to Meera. As he spoke his eyes never left the dragon.

"Sorry, about that. Would you like the honors of the next couple attacks?" He said with a smile, but his eyes still never left the dragon.
