Title: [p]The last thing I need
Description: Anubis

Jarika - January 8, 2005 06:30 PM (GMT)
The hot desert sun shed its rays upon every small grain of sand and even the largest dune. It's unforgiving heat warmed the sand to a temperature that would burn the poor feet of anyone stupid enough to cross it without a covering. Most people would have taken to the cooling shade in this heat, but three lone figures pushed on through the stuffy air. One with the distinct horn of a unicorn. This figure was pure white and despite the sand flying all around, it could be seen effortlessly on top of the sand color. Another one of those figures was a leapord. This one was a little harder to be seen. Now most wouldn't expect a leapord to be prowling around in the desert, but these special circumstances, it could be expected.

The last figure sat atop the unicorn's back. Her back was straight and face bent down as to prevent sand from getting in her face. Her hands were entwined in the Albino hair of the white creature. Her posture told anyone that she had been riding for about as long as many had been walking. As the trio travelled on, eventually the stuffy desert wind died out and the sand settled back onto the dunes where they were supposed to be. Eventually the girl picked up her head to greet the beating sun once again. They had been travelling for quite a while now and it would have been the last thing that anyone could have seen them do, stop. This small caravan had such a strong and determined feeling that not even the largest sandstorm could stop them from arriving in this land for the first time.

Anubis - January 8, 2005 08:07 PM (GMT)
Anubis was prowling the desert, looking for prey. The Sandstorm didn't even slow him down, he was a creature of the desert. It parted to go to either side of him, so powerful he was, but only in the desert. Anywhere else, he was like a mortal, but this was his home, and he ruled. He planned on having a palace built out here.

He is brought back to the world from seeing a strange party crossing the desert. He follows them, curious. Eventually them storm stops, and they can move as fast as him. He was only fifty feet to their side, in line with them. He was coming closer, too....

Jarika - January 9, 2005 01:09 PM (GMT)
Jarika, sadly, was only human. None of her senses could have told her of this predator's approach. Unaware of the danger to her side that she was missing, she moved on. Luckily for her though, she did not have only human companions. She had animals with more highly keen abilities. Themis scented the wind warily then suddenly stopped and snorted. Jarika quickly nudged him on, for she had not seen or heard anything for a long time. Then, Maja let out a low growl. Jarika called out "come on Maja, loosen up. It's only the sand blowing around a bit." Maja still stood there for a second, but then against her will, she continued on alongside Themis.

Now, Jarika was really worried. She knew that her companions only acted like this when there was danger about. She fine tuned her senses as best as she could to listen and keep a sharp eye out for this predator that she had not yet caught sight of. Her head swivveled around continuosly, unwilling to stop for fear that she would be caught by surprise by whatever it was that was tracking her down.

Anubis - January 9, 2005 03:13 PM (GMT)
He had stopped when the strange party stopped, for fear he had been discovered. He waited a while before continuing on again, coming ever closer to the party. He moves behind them, then starts running a little faster. He eventually catches the party, and immediatly jumps at the girl, staff upraised, and brings it down towards her head, still in the air.

Jarika - January 16, 2005 08:19 PM (GMT)
Jarika heard a sound like a breath coming from behind her. She quickly turned in her seat and only caught a glimpse of the dog-like figure over her head before she felt the hollow thump of the staff hitting her head. It had not been hard enough to knock her unconscious, but it did give her an immediete headache. She only wasted one second to rub her now throbbing head, before she took out her bow and nocked an arrow to it. She wasted no more time in waiting for a good aim, she just shot the arrow at the creature while a frown creased her face. Maja growled relentlessly, her tail swishing angrily. She was frustrated that she couldn't do anything yet. She knew that the creature couldn't stay in the air for much longer so she tryed to be patient while waiting in anticipation for the creature to come to the earth.

Anubis - January 16, 2005 08:34 PM (GMT)
He twists in midair to dodge the arrow, bringing the staff under and up at the unicorns stomach, then brings it around at the leopard. He then leaps up again, swinging the staffa as hard as he could at the girls stomach.

Jarika - January 17, 2005 12:49 PM (GMT)
Jarika quickly takes out her dagger, she knew that this creature could easily dodge an arrow for he had just done that in the air. Themis jumped a little bit as the staff hit his ribs, but it was not hard enough to do any internal damage. It only would leave a large bruise in the morning. Maja easily slides out from underneath of the staff and finally takes her attack. She pounces on the creature with claws out and slashing meanacingly. Jarika got the wind pushed out of her as the staff came in, but she only took a few seconds recovering. As Maja attacked the man from the right side, she grabbed his staff so he couldn't hit her just yet, and used the dagger to slash at his arm. She then held the dagger with both hands, hoping that since he was peroccupied with Maja, that he wouldn't have just as much strength with only one arm.

Anubis - January 17, 2005 04:55 PM (GMT)
(That's God-moding right there, you can't decide if I get hit or not. So I'll do a little myself, I suppose)

Anubis smiles slightly. This girl could put up a fight. Since she washolding his staff, he kicked the jaguar, then pushed off the ground, kicking her with his feet, and landing on the unicorn. He then bites it's back.
