Title: Lost in the wrong place
Eden - January 8, 2005 12:47 AM (GMT)
Eden had been walking through a city called Balefire. He was in danger all of the way through so he tried to get away and ended up in the forest. He did not know where he was and he could not go back because of the angry mob that chased him out here. They followed him pretty deep into the woods. He sometimes tripped over a root portruding ouot of the ground. He would fall down and make a loud snapping noise from the breaking root. Eden came across an open spot in the dark forest and decied to stop and rest. He got out his bag and opened it, where he would find a snack for him to eat. Eden sat there on the damp and cold ground. He was only a little bit scared but not enough to panic. The place and setting that he was in was nerve wrecking a bit. Eden looked up into the dak shadows before him and thought he saw something move. That could notbe an animal because he assumed that none live in this place of evil. He had seen an animal wandering around yet and he had been here for quite some time. Eden stood to his feet and prepared him self for what ever may come out of the shadows.
Frogger - January 8, 2005 06:54 PM (GMT)
Throught the shadows and the gloom hopped the terror of Balefire. SMall and greenish, a small toad hopped into the thin light that struggled to beat back the darkness of the woods. "Ribbit," he croaked is a questioning manner. Big, bulging eyes stared at the strange creature that towered above him. Fearless, the toad took another, akward, hop towards the creature.
Vernon - January 8, 2005 07:08 PM (GMT)
Vernon wondered what a toad was doing out in the middle of the dark woods. He followwed the creature silentlyy form the treetops. Veernon stoped when he noticed the light of a lantern. Perhaps the toad belonged to the strange angel. What on earth was an angel doing in a place like this, but the again what was Vernon doing in a place like this? Vernon was exploring and it was likely that this case coulde be doing likewise. Vernon moved in close being sure to stay at the edge of the lanterns light and keeping himself unseen. He did not want to find out this man was hostile that way. Vernon snacked on a old peice of moldy bread before pulling out his slingshot. He aimed carefully for the man's hand. "Foolish being, Who are you to befoul Gloomwood with your very prescence," Vernon yelled. he loved harassing people. It was one of those joys that would definately get him in trouble later.
Eden - January 8, 2005 07:51 PM (GMT)
Eden immediately stood to his feet. He held his lantern in his hand and moved it around in the air trying to see who or what was in his presence. The lamp did not work at all so he cast light. The light shown very brightly. It was nearly blinding in the darkness in the forest. Eden adjusted to the light and looked around once more. He looked down around the ground and saw a toad but that could not have been it. He searched the trees and saw an ugly green creature. The light that was cast defined every part of the rat looking creature. Eden saw that it held a sling shot in its hand and it was aimed at him. Eden spread his wings, ready to fly away and had his hand at his mace. He did not want to fight and he really had no whee to run for he had been lost so deep in the forest. He thought to him self, what if this creature could get him out of here. Maybe he could but Eden thought that it would not do it for free. What could he give him? Eden stopped jumping to conclusions and spoke. He had to know who and what he was looking at first.
"How can I befoul such a place? This is as foul a forest can get. I was chased into here and then I got lost. I do know where I am."
Frogger - January 8, 2005 08:29 PM (GMT)
The toad's eyes burned at the light. He had gotten used to the dimness of the forest, then the idiot had to go and light everything up. Pain wracked the toads small and fragile body. "RIBBIT! CROAK!"
The little creature flung itself upon the angels foot and proceeded to urinate all over him in retaliation for the sudden light.
Eden - January 9, 2005 04:20 PM (GMT)
Eden looked down in surprise and saw that a toad had hopped onto his foot and started to urinate on him. Eden was angry at this and flung the green toad away from his foot, kicking his leg in the air and causing the creature to fly in the air a few feet above the ground. Eden looked back up at the rat and wondered what exactly could be wrong with Eden in the forest. He was not doind anything wrong, or at least he could not think of him self doing any wrong. All he had done was get lost in here and that was not even really his fault. He wanted to know exactly who this creature was. Eden had come to guess that either it is a were rat or just an over grown rat that has the ability to talk and aim a slingshot.
((OOC: What is with the toad? LOL))
Vernon - January 9, 2005 05:14 PM (GMT)
(Bad Zorgn)
Vernon did not like the sudden burst of light. Half the fun was ruined already. He was exposed. No longer could the man's imagination conjure a creature of unspeakable horror. The magic light would aslo be harded to put out than the light of the lantern. The creture angel spread his wings, which was not a good thing for the creature sould Vernon decide to release his special bullets. The Acid would cover more area and hurt a lot more. He also had more targets to shoot at. He doubted the man could take off too quickly and be too fast moving a target. Vernon could not rightly disagree with Eden. He dipised Gloomwood, but he would not let Eden know that. Vernon watch as the toad released it's yellow bile uopn the man. Apparently it wasa no familiar of the man after all. Vernon wathced as he gave the toad a good kick.
"How dare you insult the glory of these woods. If you wish to keep your life you would pay more mnd to your words. Now state your name before I loose my pateince," Vernon yelled to the angel below.
Eden - January 10, 2005 12:46 AM (GMT)
Eden looked at the and nodded his head up and down. He might as well cooperate. For all Eden knew, this creature may be the only way out of this God forsaken forest. He stepped forward and let his wings down. He dimmed the light just a little bit and set his gaze upon the rat creature. " I am Eden Botteusai, Arch Angel of the Highest triad and Commander of the Seraphim. Please. I ask for your help out of this forest. I wish to be here no longer." Eden paused and looked at the orb of light in his hand. He looked back to the rat and snickered. "Perhaps I shall shine this more brightly to help you to see your way out."
Vernon - January 10, 2005 01:26 AM (GMT)
"An Archangel! What luck have I? Apparently one who thinks his name prestigous," Vernon thought to himself. He wondered if he should help Eden as he knew was possible. He ultimate decided that it would be the best way to continue this insults on this man. "Perhaps if you don't put out that magic light, I shall put out your candle of life," Vernon snickered in response. "For one seeking an exit you seem unable to stop being an arrogant prick. Perhaps if you promise to keep a firm grasp on your tongue I may find a way to purge you of these woods that is in a healthy and safe manner for yourself."
Eden - January 11, 2005 02:58 AM (GMT)
Eden glared at the filthy rat. The insults he threw at Eden were working and he did not appreciate it at all. Eden's eyes did not lower from the rat nor his sling shot. He did his best not to show his anger for the insulting filth rag. "I will diminish the power of the light if you cease your rude behavior. I was only giving you a taste of your own. Now please. Work with me and I will be on my best behavior. I must know the way out of here and I do not wish to be played with as if I were some child." Eden tightened his jaw and tightened his lips. He was going to say something he did not want to say. He lowered his head, still keeping an eye on him and,"... ... ...," the words did not come out and he raised his head back up. His eyes were fixed on the rat up above and he had a sudden change of mind. He did not want to make a deal with this creature of rudeness and mischief. Eden set his lamp on the ground and lowered his palm which was holding the orb of light. "I have lowered my lamp and I do promise to keep a firm grip on my tongue..... as long as you also do." At those words Eden made the orb of light diminish a little bit so that it just a simple light in the forest. It was easy on the eyes.
Vernon - January 11, 2005 02:04 PM (GMT)
Vernon watched the angel carefully and ut his slingshot back into his backpack. He knew that it would no longer be needed. this man had become docile enough that he knew a fight would get him no where. Vernon's threats had already sunken itno Eden's mind. It was enough for the man to control his temper against Vernon's insults. He slowly thought of the best way to handle Eden and his ignorance. The man should improvement but that was not enough. "Look Kid. I believe you fail to see the situation at hand. I can get you out of here dead or as you would prefer, alive. You are in no conditions to make any terms of your own. You have nothing I wish. My tongue shall frolic as it wishes, but if you wishes to see daylight again you may be smart enough to speak only when spoken to and refrain from making me more angry than I already am. Am I understood?" Vernon replied to Eden. "Perhaps I should frequent the woods more often if they are often visted by ones so ignorant as he," Vernon thought to himself with a sinister smile. Vernon's Venomous green eyes waited for Eden's submitance and his own victory.
Eden - January 18, 2005 11:51 PM (GMT)
Eden was furious. He did not want to give into this horrible creature, but he must have to because he had no choice. Maybe it was a test from the gods, Eden thought. Maybe this is happening so he could learn not to be so stubborn or stuck up. Eden had to learn not to be so ignorant as he already was. Eden looked down to the ground and mumbled,
"......... you win...."
The words were so faint and weak that Eden thought that he might have to repeat them. He continued to gaze at the ground but set his hearing on the creature. He did want to give the rat an advantage to harm Eden. No. He did not want to do that to hims self.
Vernon - January 19, 2005 01:18 AM (GMT)
Vernon smiled malevolently. He heard Eden clear enough and could see Eden's submition by Eden's actions. The faintness of te words was also another good hint. Vernon aslmost found the heart not to pester the man further for the moment, but his mind returned to its agenda of mischeif and torment. Vernon's words were loud and slow as if he were speaking to a deaf moron. "Am...I....Un-Der-Stood?" Vernon bellowed. Vernon's venomous eyes eagerly awaited Eden's predictable reply. He wondered if he should take deliberate detours in his path out of gloomwood. Eden would have no way of knowing and simple lies could dispell any thoughts that Vernon was leading him in circles. Vernon did not like gloomwood enough to pester Eden in them for that long. Vernon despised the choking darkness. He could see well in darkness, but could not see as well in the magic darkness that surrounded balefire and gloomwood.
Eden - February 1, 2005 10:36 PM (GMT)
Eden lowered his head and nodded in agreement. He looked back up and put his hand down to his side, the small orb of light still bright enough for the both of them to see. Eden had an angry look on his face but he decided not to say anything. Whatever he said could possibly ruin his chance of getting help out of this black and evil place. Eden looked around and then looked back up to the rat, as if asking where they were going to head now. He stepped back to get a better look at the rat and heard some rustling in the tree branches to the left. Eden immediately took his hand to the handle of his mace and grabbed it tightly. He made a short glance at the Rat and expected him to say something. Eden thought that if they were going to get going, then they should be leaving soon.
Vernon - February 1, 2005 11:23 PM (GMT)
Apparently this was the best he would get out of the angel. A pity. It would have been better to see him repeat the words with an ill tone, and give Vernon more reason to pester Eden. Vernon could be satisfied with Eden's attempt to appease him. Just as Vernon turned to leave he noticed Eden adjust his light. Vernon did not turn his head when he heard rustling amongst the trees. He doubted anything with a keen sense of smell would be so close but it was up wind, though the wind that blew through the forest was near non-existant. Either way Vernon had no fear for himself. Perhaps it would be best to warn Eden, Especially when it gave room to toy with him even further. "Lights out, kid. There are nasty things out here that don't like light profaning their own. If you don't respect their wishes, I think you might make a fine meal for them," Vernon snickered, before turning around. "I am sure you have a working nose, follow it."
Eden - February 1, 2005 11:30 PM (GMT)
Eden looked at the rat with an angry face. Though Eden did silently thank the rat for warning him, he really did not want to shut out his light. That was his his way of sight and the only way he could stop himself from tripping over thick roots. Eden looked down and then to the area where he heard the noise. He shook his head in disapointment and then turned out his light. He looked up to where the rat could be and thanked him for the warning.
"Thank you for the warning. It now looks like I will have to use my other senses from onw on. Just please be sure to make enough noise as to where I could follow your sounds."
Eden's pupils were very large right now. Although they could not be seen, they were big in hopes of getting as much light as possible. That was not possible. This kind of darkness was magic and was tough even for nocturnals to see through it.
Vernon - February 2, 2005 12:00 AM (GMT)
Vernon look pleasure in Eden's discomfort. Surely a creature would not wish to be without their dominate sense. Of course Eden would not want to be walking around able to see nothing but a sea of endless darkness. Vernon grined malicously. His own discomforts with the forset were now forgoten in Eden's pains. Vernon did not like the idea of going on in silence, especially when every word that came out the angel's mouth could likely be twisted in a foul manner. "Tell me Eden, what brings an angel to Balefire aside from his own foolishness? I can't say I entirely blame its inhabitants for running you off into th woods where you would likely end up little more than an Umbra's snack...well no meal. Perhaps even two meals at that," Vernon snickered as he made his ways through the trees. What of course was the point of keeping a grip on his own tongue. He was in charge in this senario. He pulled the strings.
Eden - February 4, 2005 02:43 AM (GMT)
Eden looked up at where the rat would be. He frowned upon him and kept on walking. Eden looked down to the ground to try and see if he would be able to avoid any protruding roots from the ground. It was a failure. The place was hopeless. Whoever would be lost in this horrid place would be doomed if it were not for a foul creature such as this rat. Eden was lucky. He did not know anything about the forest and its inhabitants, yet he still decided to be chased into here. He did not really have a reason for going to the City of Balefire. He was just curious and was on another one of his exploring journeys. He entered the city and found the people to extremely hostile to his kind or even perhaps to any stranger that was unlucky enough to venture into the trap of a city.
Eden kept his eyes open and found it no use. He closed them and continued to walk. He wondered if this rat was feeding off of his own misery. Eden walked in the complete darkness and said in a monotone,
“I have no reason for going to Balefire. I was just exploring.”
Eden smiled, deciding to agree with the rat.
“You know, my body would make a delicious meal for four of these umbra creatures. I believe I would make a wonderful meal. Don’t you think?”
Vernon - February 4, 2005 04:06 PM (GMT)
Vernon found Eden's stupidity very amusing. Vernon half expected this story, but also thought that Eden might have reason to be here that had something with the "grand" position which Eden apparently thought would be universily praised. Surely he would have paid attention to the fact that the darkness stiffled any source of light, even if he happened upon the area at night. This of course could be a case of curiosity killing the cat. Perhaps he wanted to find the source of the mystic darkness. There was a chance that Eden was lying, but Vernon doubted it.
"Surely if you explore areas you know knowthing about in such a manner, you should give a visit to therab. Perhaps chance will fail you and it will erupt while
you do so," Vernon snickered.
Vernon was not pleased to Eden's reply about the umbra. It was not something he meant Eden to reply to and definately not in that manner. Vernon was not expecting to be agreed wih on so morbid a topic. Apparently Eden was not trying to play with him by Vernon's own rules.
"For an umbra yes. If I thought you would make a wonderful meal for myself, you would not be speaking at the moment. Perhaps after rotting for a few weeks you might make a suitable meal, though angels usually aren't too taseful."
"What is an angel with so prestigous a name doing in Imythess, and alone to say the least?" Vernon asked wondering who he could make use of the answer.
Eden - February 11, 2005 12:19 AM (GMT)
Eden continued to walk through the darkness while closely listening to him while he walked through the forest. He felt around for anything that would stop him in his path. He occasionally felt twigs from small trees but nothing serious that would stop him. Eden rolled his eyes and decided not to answer to the rats question. He just continued to walk and ignore him. As Eden was making his way through the darkness, he caught his ankle to a large root and fell. He screamed on the way down and smacked his face on the cold, soft dirt. Eden was now angry. He picked himself and got to his knees. He did not care if the rat or any other creature would have gotten mad, he turned on his light again. Eden raised his hand and muttured the few words of the spell. A dim orb of light appeared in his hand and lit the surrounding area. He got to his feet and looked for the aiding rat. Eden brightened the light and continued to search, saying,
"I fell. I am going to keep this light on for now."
Vernon - March 3, 2005 11:48 PM (GMT)
Vernon was annoyed to hear silence after he had asked Eden a question. It inspired the thought of why he was actually doing this in the first place helping out some pigheaded angel. He quickly recalled as he heard Eden fall. The despicable angel screamed the entire time he fell. It was music to Vernon's ears. A wide wicked grin was set upon Vernon's face as Eden's face collided with the ground.
Vernon's joy flushed away as Eden recasted his abominable spell. It was dim and not so bothersome at least not as bothersome as the the darkness of balefire, but had not Vernon told him not to have the light. Vernon thought of whether or not he should get on eden for the light, but decided against as the fool would likely be stubborn about keeping his ablity to see. However, Vernon would make sure the the angel at least answered question when they were asked. "Well if you will risk your life for sight so be it, be sure to keep it dim. More importantly if you do not answer my questions, I shall be bored with you and if that happens you might as well get ready for your death," Vernon growled.
Eden - March 13, 2005 04:14 AM (GMT)
Eden was tired of it all. He could not take it any longer. The rat that was supposedly guiding him through the darkness was a nuisance and the evil forest was something that Eden would rather not be in right now. Eden listened as the rat growled at him and just shook his head. He looked up to the canopy and thought to him self. He was beginning to wonder if he could fly his way out of here. It would be a try if he did it. He was sure that the top was not to thick and that he could make it through. Eden looked at he rat once more, massaging his chin, which he had badly bruised from the fall. He looked down at the small orb of light he had in his hand and brightened it even more. Now the light was so powerful that he had to shield his eyes from it. Some low growls could be heard from a short distance. Eden looked to where Vernon would be and said,
“I am leaving this place now. I will no longer be guided from you. Fare well to thee. I leave.”
Eden quickly spread out his wings and jumped up into the air. He took flight with one kick of his wings. Eden was now quickly flying through the trees dodging the branches. He made it to the top and broke his way through the canopy with his mace. The moon could be seen sitting with the stars. A broad smile came about Eden’s face. He was heavily relieved that he was no longer in the forest. Up he flew even more until the air became thin. He soar in the air, away from the wicked place that chase him into that evil forest. Away he went, off to the Forest of Norwood.
