Title: Magic of all kinds
Jasmine of Laurudy - January 7, 2005 10:22 PM (GMT)
Jasmine woke up that morning and looked straight up to the ceiling. She was trying to remember if she had anything to do today and realized that she was accepted for the magister position at the Acadamy of Magic. She jumped up and got ready for the big day ahead of her. She freshened up and smiled. Jasmine was excited that she was the new magister for the Acadamy. She kept a quick and happy pace on her way to the class.
Jasmine stepped into the class room and set her things on her desk. She paused for a moment and looked around the class room. She had ideas for things to put into the room, it was way too empty and plain. She thought that it would be nice to put some charts of information on magical creatures around the bare walled room. The would definately have some models of dragons and other creatures of that sort.
Jasmine sat down and waited for the new students to come. She wanted to get to know who she was teaching before she started any lesson. She wanted to know eveyone's name by heart and she also wanted the students to know each other as well. She sat there reading her books as she waited for the newcomers to enter the class room.
Master Ace - January 8, 2005 01:27 AM (GMT)
Master ace was half surprised to hear that Jasmine was accepted as magister, despite the disaster that occured when he last was at the academy. Luckliy he acted quickly and damage was mininmal and easily repaired. With the large shortage in magisters the really was not much of a choice in accepting or declining, but new magister didn't always fix the lack of students which was far more important. Master Ace could not help but smile he had cause his own disaster before becoming a magister, though he could not say it was all his fault. He was atleast in a duel, but Jasmine had nothing to provoke her.
Ace walked purposefully through the halls. His thick Green hair was messy and ruffled as usual. His wings were folded so as to take up minimal space. He was curious as to what Jasmine would teach. She seemed to have a liking for fire, but he hoped from when he tried to teach fire spells. Whatever she was to teach he would find out soon enough.
Ace slowly walked into the room. He recalled this as the room he had Bahamut cleared out earlier. "Greetings, Jasmine, I hope you do not mean to teach students to rain fire from the sky, " Ace smiled when he saw her.
Jasmine of Laurudy - January 8, 2005 05:26 AM (GMT)
Jasmine looked and saw Master Ace enter the room. She smiled and laughed at his comment. She laughed at her self mostly for the damage she had done at a previous class. Jasmine closed her book and went to Master Ace to shake his hand. She smiled and said,
"I thought you were a student. You got my hopes up for a second. As for a lesson, I want to do brief review on what magic really is. The energy that is used and how it affects people. I only want to discuss for a short amount of time. I would really like to get to know my class before I begin any kind of lesson. I want to know who I will be teaching. If I am going to be doing hands on work with my students then I want to at least know their names."
Jasmine laughed and continued to smile. She looked at Master Ace and asked,
"Hey Ace. Are you doing any classes this day at all? I know you to be capable of teaching advanced magic classes and I was wondering if you were..... if I could be enroled into it. I love to be in an advanced magic class. I also want to learn different kinds of methods of teaching."
Jasmine then quieted down and noticed that she had been talking way too much.
Master Ace - January 8, 2005 10:29 PM (GMT)
Ace wonddered where so much comedy could be found in his words, mainly because he was dissapointed it had happened in the first place. Ace listened to her lesson plan. It seemed entirely too similar to Jashed's. He disliked afew of the man's idea on magic and magical energy. She did not;however, say she was going to talk about magical creatures. Ace would then be inclined to beileve that she was merely mimicing him, but it now seemed as if she was rather taking things from where he left. Ace felt sorry for her when she talked of wantoing to get her students. Chances were high that he would be her only student. It was sad to break her spirited mood, but sometimes it was not good to let ones hopes get to high for then the fall is even greater. He waited to hear the rest of what she had to say first. He was glad that she was one to consider his classes advanced and more so would be glad to join one. Master Ace indeed have a class planned for the day. He would go over spells for a feild rip that he would later take some of the students on.
"Yes, I do intend to have my own class later on, and yes you may join. As for getting to know your students, I doubt there will be more than myself if any at all," Ace replied as he sat down at a nearby desk.
Jasmine of Laurudy - January 9, 2005 03:50 PM (GMT)
Jasmine fround at these words of no students. She looked down to the ground in dissapointment. She paused for a moment and then looked back up at Master Ace. She smiled and then thought that it would not be too bad. More students are to some day come around the corner. There could not be many people who would decide not to come to class. Jasmine thought for a moment as to what she could do, since time had passed so much by now and she was sure that Master Ace was right. She looked into Master Ace's eyes and said,
"Perhaps you could teach me Master Ace. I have heard from the common folk around here that you have been a magister for a very long time. I would like you to teach me the strageties that you use to teach. What are your methods and ideas? I want to know your veiw on things. I will yake am Arch Mages word for things, especially on magic it self. Please. I would really appreciate it that you would. Even if some one came in today at very late hour, you still could teach me. I want to know from one who has mastered magic."
Master Ace - January 9, 2005 04:42 PM (GMT)
Master Ace nearly blushed. It was nice that he had gotten such recognition. He had never really thought of it as a long time. It wan't even a full year yet, but he had been teaching well more than any magister could possibly atest. rith as few students as their were it was amazing that the common folk even knew who was, apparently his own reputation had preceded that of the academy, though Ace would rather that his name be synomous with the academy. It was nice the way Jasmine complemented him, though he was far from mastering magic. He had a load of spells still on his list to learn, a list that seemed almost endless.
"Thank you for your compliments. I shall teach you Jasmine, but first I must see you teach. You are not paid to learn, though teaching in itself can be a learning expereince. I would not be so eager to teach you new methods of teaching when I know the methods you use. So, Shall we begin?" Ace smiled as his emerald eyes shimmered. He could recall no magister aside from gimself so dedicated to the academy.
Jasmine of Laurudy - January 9, 2005 05:36 PM (GMT)
Jasmine smiled and told Master Ace to sit down. She was going to begin her lesson now. She went to behind her desk and her smile grew even bigger. She opened her book and decided not to teach about the basics of magic, since Master was already well intot the knowledge of magic, there was just no need for it. Jasmine looked at Master Ace and asked, "I ask that you interupt me if I do or say anything that you do not find necessary." Jasmine decided that she whould talk about the ueses and differences of black and holy magic. She talked about how black magic would sometimes have a bad effect on you. She spoke of how wiches would be punished for the evil deeds that have done to others. Jasmine covered the topic of black magic and how it makes the common saying, 'what goes around, comes around' famous.
Master Ace - January 11, 2005 03:10 PM (GMT)
Master ace found a certain disliking for her choice of teaching. It was not like Jahesd's talks in the way he beleived it would be, but they were simmilar. She carried about herself well, but when she began to speak of such things as ' what goes around comes around' she came into a relam of which he did not like. Fate was fate. Magic's interaction with fate could rarely be called anything aside form superstition. Ace did not have a liking for superstition. It was foolish people who wished to explain the unexplainable. Surely this was not something he wanted to have taught at the academy. "Jasmine, I hate to interrupt, but I feel that I must. Firstly let us try not discriminate in our teachings. There will be students with darkened hearts and I doubt they would like to hear such things. Secondly, this is mere superstition. There is no way to prove that black magic effects fate that way. Aside from that you have done a good job. It is hard not to show prejusticies," Master Ace said calmly for his seat.
Jasmine of Laurudy - January 11, 2005 10:16 PM (GMT)
Jasmine smiled and appreciated Master Ace interupting, for if he had not he would not be helping. She sat down inher chair behind her desk. She looked at Master Ace and thought to her self. She did not even notice that she was discriminating. She greatly appreciated Master Aces giving time to do this for her. She would become a better teacher because of him. "I thank you so much Master Ace. I really do appreciate your time and help. I would rather you teach me how to tach others and point out what I can do. I did not even noticed that I have been discriminating against others... Please, come sit in this chair and help me. I will be the student right now." Jasmine got up to her feet and smiled at Master Ace. She really did want to learn how to become a better teacher and if that meant that she stop teaching right now and become the student, then so be it.
Master Ace - January 12, 2005 03:23 PM (GMT)
Ace was pleased that she seemed noow to notice her discrimination. "How can I point out what she can do if I have not see her do it? I can point out what she may do, but She should know most of that already," Master Ace thought to himself. Jasmine was certainly eager to learn something from Ace. Already twice she had offered him he chance to be the teacher, but at the moment that was not entirely Ace's purpose. He was here to see here in action. To help here while she was in action. He would have time to teach her later. "Jasmine, was that all you had in mind for your lesson? Teaching is a learning experience. Think of me as the student. I shall interject if I feel you are in error or can do something better. now, Let us try a lesson with minimal interjection," Ace smiled. Jasmine was eager to be better. He would have to convince her that this was the best way.
Jasmine of Laurudy - January 20, 2005 08:24 PM (GMT)
Jasmine looked down to her desk and placed one of her hands and rested it on the hard and cold wood. She looked back at Master Ace and smiled. She was please with him and would finally take his word. This must have been the best way if he said it was. She looked down to her book and fliped through the pages. She looked up to Master Ace and said,
"Thank you. I appreciate your kindness. Alright then, I shall continue with the lesson. The use of magic and the penalty paid is different for each individual. It is hard to master all magic there is so one must take on just several of the many types. I believe magic to be very hard on novice users and you pay attention to that. You may find your self in bed one day from over using magic. If you try to use many different types of magic in one day, you will pay for it because it is not simply done. Even the highest of the mages and wizards have trouble with multiple types of magic. You must manitpulate the energy around you to create magic....... Please do not mind me saying these things. I am just speaking as if you were a novice student who is new to magic."
Master Ace - January 28, 2005 12:43 AM (GMT)
Master Ace did not find her lecture too pleasing. He preffered to have a class with the application of magic, but then again Ace merely wished to learn new spells and he coming to a point in time where few could teach him what he did not know. Aclhemy was quickly becoming all too clear through Ace's studies. There was much he could learn, but at the rate he was learning on his own this would not hold true for long. Perhaps lectures were the only things which could teach him something new. Ace aslo disagreed with her veiw of handling multiple magical energies, but he was not much proof of the falsity of her words. The main thing that held mages back from learning and using many types of magic was specialzation. Pyromancers for instance rarely used non-fire magic. He would that slid without comment. It was not mere superstition and it was not dicriminating.
Ace stood up and brushed off his robe. "Quite alright. You have done a very good job. Keep up the good work. I think this shall conclude class for the day. You have displayed that you have good teaching skills. We shall build upon those skills. For now I have a matter which should be handled at this time," Ace smiled to Jamsine as he turned to the door. He wondered how her next class would go.
