Title: Dark Tidings
Rith - December 24, 2004 04:00 PM (GMT)
Rith walked up the House slowly. He knew skorne was there and that was all that mattered. He may have waited until he was sure Tamuril was out of the house, but it really didn't matter. Aside from being deaf, Rith could communicate telepathicly with skorne if he wished it. Rith inteded to finsh his buisness at the house quickly. He came to see Skorne for two reasons. One was to speak with Skorne, which he was aware he could do elsewhere. But the other was to see the inside of Skorne's home with his own two eyes. While there was a low chance of it being needed Rith would insure that this home was more or less a safe one. Rith knock upon the door of the house and then tapped his foot on the ground as he waited for a reply.
Skorne - December 24, 2004 04:07 PM (GMT)
Skorne had been up for a while when he haerd the knocking on the door. He couldn't think of who it would be. Not many people knew they were out here, and even fewer knew how to find the house. Opening up the door, he was surprised to see Rith there. "Hello Rith, please come in." Skorne opened the door and walked back into the main room, watching Rith carefully. He knew Rith, and he knew that Rith was there for a reason. Rith never showed up just to say high and wish you well, there was something that he wanted. Remaining standing, he waited for Rith to speak, slightly glad that Tamuril had been asleep the last time that Skorne had checked on her. Still, she could wake up any moment now. "How can I help you Rith? What is it that you want?" Skorne waited patiently, watching Rith carefully to see what mood he was in.
Rith - December 24, 2004 04:31 PM (GMT)
Rith followed Skorne into the main room. Rith's eyes roamed about the house as he followed Skorne. But when Skorne stoped walking his eyes turned immediately back towards him. Rith's face appeared almost emotionless. Rith could see the anticpation in Skorne's eyes. Skorne knew Rith too well, there a motive behind any visit of his own. Rith opted to stand as well. He did not intend for his visit to be a long one. "It is good to see you Skorne. I come to speak with you about your marriage. I am sure that you are aware of the danger that you can possibly put her in. I wish to ensure that you have a means of preventing that from happening. The best safety measure is the art of disguise," Rith said. His voice was filled with as much emotion as his face. He would teach Skorne if needed, but that would happen later, Rith merely wish to put it on Skorne's mind for the time being.
Skorne - December 24, 2004 04:38 PM (GMT)
Skorne scowled at Rith's implication that he couldn't protect Tamuril. He had thought about that several times, especially after the wedding. If anyone ever found out that he was connected to Tamuril, and Rith's guild had done something to them. Many people would not hesitate to injure Tamuril to get at Skorne. "Yes, I have thought about it, but there isn't much that one can do to prevent such things from occuring. I will protect her with my life, no one will touch her as long as I breath." Rith's question had put Skorne in a foul mood, it was something that he had thought about constantly. It was something he hadn't considered when he had married her, but became quite clear afterwards. It was the one thing he really feared. Still, he would deal with any coward that would rather attack Tamuril than face him for his actions. They would pay dearly if they harmed her.
Rith - December 24, 2004 05:07 PM (GMT)
Rith held back the urge to roll his eyes. Skorne had missed his point entirely. Of course he would protect her with his life. That would be expected after marrying. Rith's words had seemed to show some effect. At least Skorne was thinking about it. "Then perhaps you simply need slighty more help with thinking. I do not mean to insult your ablity to do your best to care for the woman you love. It is because you will protect her with your last breath that I am here. I am sure that most who we cross shall be to kind hearted to think of harming the innocent, but we shall not only be handling goody-two shoes, but villians who would exploit this this marriage without a second thought. Even I can not be everywhere and see everything. If you make no effort to make yourself unreconizable at the right times, I fear the consquences may be misfortunate," Rith replied. His eyes focused of Skorne's. Why didn't Rith end this while he had the chance? He saw the seeds of love planted and watched them grow. Why couldn't he killit before it became a vibrant tree?
Tamuril - December 24, 2004 05:16 PM (GMT)
Tamuril woke up soon after Rith had arrived and had taken a shower before walking to see that Skorne and Rith were talking. From the looks of things neither seemed very happy with one another. Walking over to Skorne she placed a hand on his shoulder and nodded to Rith.
She did not know what was going but she was surprised see that had a guest already at their hidden house. Looking at Rith who she had not seen since the wedding she smiled gently and asked both of the men through sign langauge if they would like her to make them their morning meal.
Skorne - December 24, 2004 05:28 PM (GMT)
Skorne hid his feelings when he saw Tamuril was there. He didn't want her to get worried about things she shouldn't even have to deal with. He smiled at her, signig a response swiftly. "Could you please, this shouldn't take to long to talk about." Skorne turned to look at Rith, thinking about what he had said. He was forced to admit that Rith was right, he would have to be careful about who saw him. If the wrong person recognized him and knew that he had a connection with Tamuril, they would come after her to get at him. "Yes Rith, you are right. I don't like what it means, but you are right. This is why I choose to follow you, because you can think of the things that I can not." Skorne watched Rith carefully, wondering what it was Rith was thinking about. Who would they be dealing with that would do such a thing? Skorne couldn't think of anyone off hand, but still, he would do his best to stay hidden. "So Rith, is that the only reason you came, or was there more to your visit than concern for my wife?"
Rith - December 24, 2004 05:49 PM (GMT)
Even Rith put on a smile as Tamuril was noticed. There was no reason for her too feel insecure. There was no reason she should know they spoke dark thoughts. Luckly the talks had come to a close. Rith was pleased to see Skorne begining to see things from Rith point of veiw. Now that it was on Skorne's mind. Rith was sure the demon would do what needed to be done to ensure her safety. Rith knew the time would come when such intances would arrive. The pyro guild was bent on destruction, but it was easy to use as puppet. It was no threat and could be destroyed when he wished. Rith knew a time would come when when there would be a conflict. Even tohse who called themselves doers of good might do such a villianous crime to purge the world of an evil. "I am glad you see it my way. Yes and no. I have a gift I need to give to your wife. Excuse me while I go get it," Rith smiled as he crouched behind the shadow of a chair. When he stood up he held an adorable Umbra kit in his arms.
(Seeing as the wedding topic died a horrible death)
Tamuril - December 24, 2004 06:47 PM (GMT)
Tamuril nodded to her husband and went to the kitchen. Returning about thirty mintues later with a tray that held some coffee and some biskets. Smiling at both men she saw the kitten and put down the tray. Grinning at Rith she walked over to him with the kitten and reached out to touch the little creature.
She smiled at the men again and lowered her hand from teh stop creatur's fur and picked up the tray again and offered both of them something to eat and drink. She smiled at Skorne as she did this and kisses him on the cheek.
Rith - December 27, 2004 10:13 PM (GMT)
Rith had not need of food, but it was no reason to be inpolite, after it would npt hurt him at all to have somthing to eat and something to drink. Not wanting to be annoyed again because her attention somehow went elsewhere, rith decided it would be unwise to sign everything he wanted to say at once. He would try to speak to her trough her mind, but decided not to put her through that discomfort. "That would be lovely, but afterwards may I have I have a word with you," Rith signed with a smile when he thought he had her attention.
Tamuril - December 28, 2004 06:35 PM (GMT)
Not knowing that Rith could sign as well, Tamuril did not even think before giving him a quick gently hug. Pulling away from him blushing she handed him a drink and a bite to eat. Also handing ther love some before turning to reply to Rith's question Tamuril smiled at him.
Signing to Rith she said, "Of course you can have a word with me. Would you like to it be privete or maybe Skorne be in the room as well as we speak?" She waits for her friend's reply as she happily cuddles up to Skorne while their young fairy dragon takes something to eat for himself and flys back to his purch in the corner of the room.
Rith - December 30, 2004 05:57 PM (GMT)
Rith mind went to something he should have thought of a lot earlier. She could read of course. That would be alot easier than signing. Rith signed that privacy was not needed. He then pulled a blank sheet of paper from his pocket. He shook it once and black words appeared on the white papper. He handed the papper to Tamuril. It read, " I hope you like your present. It is an umbra if you do not know. Treat it well and soon it will be strong enough to protect you when Skorne is away. I leave you with the pleasure of naming it. Keep in mind that should you want children they would likely act worse than this." Rith took a sip from his coffee as he watched her read the papper, though his eyes never left Tamuril.
Skorne - January 5, 2005 01:48 AM (GMT)
Skorne didn't try to read the paper that Rith had handed Tamuril, it was obviously meant for her and if she wanted to show it to him, then that was fine. He drank some of the coffee, planning what he was going to do for the day. His thoughts turned to the umbra kit. It was a strange gift, he wouldn't have expected a live animal. Still, Tamuril obviously adored the creature, so that was reason enough to keep it. Maybe once it grew up it would be able to help out some. He had heard that umbras could be extremely loyal over time. You never know when one of them might be able to help in some way. Skorne downed the rest of his coffee, managing not to burn his mouth on the hot drink. He intended to go out exploring today, he wanted to get the land around their home scouted out so that he would never get lost. He also was looking for anywhere that could be used to his advantage should something attack him. He doubted that anything would attack this place, but he wanted to be ready just in case. "Thank you Rith, it is a wonderful gift. No doubt you have some reason for choosing to give us an umbra kit, but I will let you keep that to yourself if you want to."
Tamuril - January 6, 2005 10:20 PM (GMT)
Tamuril let otu a sound of happiness and surprise as she took the kitten and hugged it tightly. Kissing the kitten on the forehead she handed the paper to Skorne beaming with happiness. Turning back to face Rith she put the kitten down and hugged him once again. Smiling at him she signed to Rith, "Thank you so much you are so sweet."
Turning back to pick up the kitten she was surprised to see the kitten climbing up their little dragon's perch in hopes to get ahold of him. Gasping alarm as the kitten swatted at the scard creature she ran over to the kitten and grabbed.
Holding the kitten tightly in her arms she looked in the eyes and shook her finger at it before handing it to Skorne. Walking over to the fairy dragon she gently stroked its head in hopes of calming it down.
Rith - January 7, 2005 10:15 PM (GMT)
Rith was pleased to see the effect of his words. Rith smiled as she hugged him. He was ussually not one to admire such compassion, but none could say it was a bad thing to get such attention. Rith resisted the urge to smile as he saw Tamuril handle the umbra that wanted to play with the dragon. Had Rith at least subconciously meant to use this as an instrument to delay the forth coming of Skonre jrs or was it a subconcious attempt to perpare them for that day. "You shal have a few difficulites at first, but it is good that you have a kit and not a full grown umbra. Those are hard to make loyal to yourself and harder to train. I figure I would get your wife a gift that would help in the event someone found out about you and her. If they were resourceful enough to know a connection between you two and the location of this house, finding out the she is deaf shall be easy," Rith smiled to Skorne as he pulled out another sheet of paper. He shook just as he had the other before handing it to Tamuril. "You are welcome. I must depart soon. May I know the name of the new addition to your family before I go?" The paper read. A little ways under the words was a black line hining where she was to write the creature's name. Rith turned his attentio back to the coffee and bisckets. It would be rude to leave wish out finishing the meal.
Tamuril - January 11, 2005 10:45 PM (GMT)
Tamuril thought about her reply before she wrote down the name Slasher for the little creature who was already out of Skorne's arms and shreading a pillow on the couch.
Gently she went and got slasher who began to swat at her curlies and she broke out into laughter hugging hte little creature and kissing his forhead. It was easy to see she already loved the little kitten as if it was her own child.
Skorne - January 11, 2005 10:52 PM (GMT)
Skorne watched the little kit, amused by the way it was acting. It apparently possessed the same boundless energy that gripped all young ones, so it would be a while before they could expect a good nights sleep. Still, the creature would be worth keeping around. Slasher seemed to be a good name for it, even if it was a little dark. It was attempting to get anything it could with it's claws. They would have to find something that wouldn't get shredded for it to play with. And, they would have to make sure that it didn't reach the faerie dragon, that would be a problem if that happened. Skorne nodded to Rith, thanking him for the gift. The next few days would be interesting, but hopefully, the two animals would get used to each other after a while, and wouldn't fight to much. "Thank you once again Rith, you have the gift of foresight it seems." Skorne continued to watch the kit as it struggled to be free of Tamuril's grasp. It was probably more interested in going after the dragon than anything.
Rith - January 12, 2005 02:34 AM (GMT)
Rith had finished with his coffee and had eaten one of the biscuits. It was good and well made but not the taste he liked. Yet the taste he liked could not be described as the taste of food or drink could be. Rith watched the kitt with his purple eyes. It reminded him of Terror with it's boundless energy. The two would certainly be more preoccupied than he had thought origanally. Rith's eyes turned to the paper when he saw Tamuril begin to write out of the corner of eyes. Slasher. He smiled at the name. It was to say the least a fitting name for the creature. He would have to be sure to check on them occasionally which would be easier now that he had been here. "You are welcome, Skorne. I wish that my foresight brought in this bundle of joy at the proper time," Rith smiled. "I'd love to stay and help, but I have my own to attend to," Rith said as he stood up. Rith made a bow and turned to leave. "Tell her I think Slasher is a lovely name," Rith smiled as he tuned his head. He then made his way to the Door and made his exit. He just the door gentley behind him and then vanished into the shadows.
